Worst security cameras I have ever purchased

Missing key motion moments, lags and sends notifications for a motion detected sometimes hours after the event happens, not following specified detection areas, not charging, constantly disconnecting, not properly registering people versus animals versus cars. Worst system available in my opinion. The issues began happening more and more frequently after just a few months in use. In less than a year they stopped charging altogether and are now completely useless.

$550 Heavy Droopy JUNK

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Camera out the box, impressive. $550 for 2 cameras you would think they included 2 charging cables, NOPE. you only get one. I had to charge camera one at a time (8 hours each). One camera took 5-6 attempts before it connected to the Home Base (not good for a top brand 4K router and Google Fiber Internet). I thought I was good to go until attempting to install. Camera appear to be too heavy for the plastic mounting brackets. Picture will tell all; could not get the camera to stay up, it just droops to the ground like its too heavy($550 heavy Droopy JUNK) . I place something underneath it to get a zoom view (2K, 4K and 8K) The quality was decent. Garage Sale sign at 2K, 4K and 8K was great. However it could not read the street sign at 4K or even 8K, NOT GOOD Eufy! So the object will have to be at least 5 feet away before it reads a license plate in 4K (good to know Eufy, maybe you should advertise that.) The second camera I could not get pictures because it would not stay screwed onto the stand. I hung it, same thing with the first camera, it drooped down, but this one would not stay screwed onto the bracket, good think I didn't let go else the camera would have fallen to the ground and broken. Too bad I can't test the motion detection to give it a review. Eufy, I had hight hopes for your 4K security camera, maybe you should upgrade from plastic mounting and consider something to withstand your heavier cameras. Pro: Easy Home Base set-up Cons: only 1 charging cable for 2 camera set, plastic mounting brackets will not hold camera, not everything can be read in 4K or 8K zoom. No one camera available.

The battery life is fantastic, and the solar panels work exceptionally well to keep it charged without any hassle. The picture quality is superb—sharp, clear 4K resolution that makes identifying details effortless. One of the biggest highlights is that there’s no monthly or annual fee, which is a huge plus compared to other systems that rely on subscription services. The only drawback I’ve noticed is the motion detection range. The camera struggles to pick up people beyond roughly 20 feet, even when they are within the active zone. If the range could be extended, this would be a nearly perfect system. Overall, it’s a great investment for high-quality, subscription-free security, but the detection range might be a limitation for some users.

It's now two months later and still runs perfect. I have 1 mounted to brick infront of my garage and another mounted to my sided with a siding clip the siding one bounces some with high wind weather but holds fine charging has been no issue with the sun recording is also great and the picture is good I upgraded the space with a samsung 2TB off amazon my only negatives is the motion detector picks up my tree blowing and my grill cover blowing, since these objects are kind of in the middle you cannot geofence around them, which sucks I also wish when mounting them (you have to spin them till they lock) they had a better system so they would also face level, its hard getting it "exactly" where you want it to point due to this because you are also fighting the mount/screws and you dont want it to "slip" on the back plate while tighten the camera

Poor 4K compression, cannot read license plates.

Or if not uncompressed please add a higher FPS setting in 2k recording maybe? I cannot even read license plates in full day light. I have a 2k wired EUFY cam and the 4K cams actually look worse. Sound is extremely sensitive to wind noise. The Microphones are mostly useless if there is a light breeze. The Motion detection is so-so and often records mid way through an event. The spot light rarely turns on at night for motion but it does still record video. It would be nice if the light turned on for every event to ward off intruders. You can set the cam to record for longer but there needs to be a much longer recording time since these are solar. Overall disappointed, I'll likely sell them since I'm beyond return policy. The base is nice though and I'll probably keep that.

Great wireless security system!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When it comes to security cameras there are so many options and all of them have different advantages and disadvantages. One nice thing about wires NVR systems is that you do not have to worry about charging the cameras or paying for a subscription. However, wireless cameras are typically easier to set up and can be placed just about anywhere, but many of them require a subscription for online storage and have to be charged. I believe these Eufy cameras were made to reduce some of those concerns and bridge the gap between the two. Setting up these cameras is a fairly simple process. The base station comes with 16GBs of storage which is enough for multiple days’ worth of storage based on settings and activity. However, you can drop in a 2in hard drive and easily expand this storage. I personally put a 2TB hard drive and this allows me to have months’ worth of video coverage stored without having to overwrite that. Eufy also gives you the option to pay for cloud-based storage which also includes other benefits such as 24/7 advanced monitoring. The cameras come with all the hardware needed for mounding and can easily be screwed into your house within minutes. I have my base station on one side of my house and a camera on the complete other side outdoors and there are no connection issues at all. The range is superior. Since this is a wireless system, they cameras are battery powered. One of my favorite features is that they have mini solar panels on the top of each camera to help them charge up a few percent per day. Eufy claims they will last 365 days. Although I have only been testing them for about a week, I am down to 93% battery. The way my house sits they are not able to get the most sunlight. However, I still think even if they can last 3-6 months that is a decent length of time. If you live somewhere that gets a lot of sunlight or are able to put it in a better spot more directly in the sunlight then I have no doubt you would never need to charge these cameras. These cameras have 4K video quality capability and many smart features. One of my favorite features is that you are able to add a picture of someone and then it will detect when it sees that person. I have added myself and other members of my family and overall, it is good at recognizing when it sees that person. It also does a great at recognizing vehicles, animals, and humans and you are able to filter out notifications from each category if you would like. I only found two downsides to these cameras and it could be user error but no matter what I tried I was not able to fix the issue. The first is that when it is dark out, the cameras have a harder time picking up motion. During the day I did not have any issues but if I walked in front of the cameras during the night it was hit or miss on whether or not it picked me up even when I turned the motion detection to max sensitivity. The other issue is that I was hoping to utilize the spotlight feature but the only setting I was able to find had it flashing when it detected motion. I was looking for it to have a solid spotlight when it detected motion during the night. Again, it could be user error and I am continuing to try and play with the settings. If you are in the market for cameras and are looking for a highly capable system then I would definitely take a look at the Eufy Cam. These cameras are easy to set up, easy to use and are versatile and can be used without limitations. One of my favorite features is that if you do not want to pay for a monthly service, then you can still monitor them through the app and all of the footage is stored on the home base.

Motion detection will be greatly affected by the motion area & sensitivity you set for the camera. It will also be affected by the environment you installed for this camera, the size of the moving object, the frequency of movement, and the length of the distance, etc
Would you please try the following steps to see if it helps?
-Please turn up the Detection sensitivity in: Camera Settings>Motion detection
-Please change the camera working mode as a customized recording with 5s retriggering intervals and a 120s clip length: Camera Settings>Power Manager >Cutomized Recording.
-Please check the installation location, the optimal installation height is 2-2.5m(7-8ft) off the ground. If it is too high or too low the detection distance will be reduced. It is not recommended to install your camera with a downtilt angle exceeding 25°. A large downtilt angle will also reduce the detection distance.
If the issue still perisists, please contact us via support@eufy.com and provide the following information for further assistance:
-The serial number of the camera. You may check it on the camera or the app(Camera Settings>General>About device>Serial number).
-A picture to show the camera view so that we can better know the installation height and installation angle. Live feed>save to phone album by clicking the scissors icon.

Eufy sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the eufy cam pro's with Homebase2 now I upgraded to eufy cam 3' with homebase3 and 4k. They still suck customer service is terrible the camera's miss at least 40% of any type of traffic that passes them or it starts to record as the object is leaving the area. Pure waste of money.

- Please expand or delete your activity zone if set up. Steps:Devices>motion detection>activity zone.
- Please increase the sensitivity. Steps: Devices>motion detection>sensitivity level(type)
- Please know that the camera should be installed 7-10 feet above the ground and the depression angle should not be greater than 25°.

Wished I would have never bought.

Only one out of two cameras kind of work. One constantly sets off on motion even when there is none. One doesn't work at all on motion. It only works on motion and when it does, its almost too late. The application was written by someone who did not research other security system applications. I have vivant at my rental house and another google camera system. Both blow this over priced piece of non-working junk away.

Returned, motion detection doesn’t work
