Opened my eyes about the history of New York City’s political, criminal and violence associated with social tensions during the Civil War period.

Gangs of New York is directed by the legend, Martin Scorsese, and stars Leonardo Dicaprio alongside Daniel Day-Lewis and Cameron Diaz. This is an exceptional cast [and director] so the movie does not disappoint. This Blu-ray release brings excellent video and audio quality so it's definitely worth adding to your home media collection. Hopefully a remastered 4K + Blu-ray is released in the future, but this will do for now. I highly recommend this, especially if you have a good high-end tv with a surround sound system.

Great movie!! I haven’t watched this movie in a while and decided to purchase it. I was able to get it for a good price from Best Buy. I highly recommend this movie. It is a historically based depiction of New York gangs.

An absolute classic! It was as entertaining as the first time. Daniel Day Lewis is perfect as the maniacal Bill the Butcher. The bonus features are great too. Would definitely recommend to any movie buff.

Blu-Ray quality on the picture is, as always, second to none. The movie itself it amazing, one my all time favorites which is why I had to own it. Daniel Day Lewis' performance as Bill the Butcher is spellbinding.

History Buff Or Not, This Is A Great Story To Watch Unfold. The Ending Is A Bit Anti-Climactic, But It's Still Worth Watching. Obviously, Leonardo DiCaprio Does A Great Job, But Daniel Day-Lewis Steals The Whole Movie, The Acting Chops That Guy Has Are Phenomenal!

a very fun semi-fictional story on the history of gangs in new york. It's as if you stepped back in time. there was a great effort put in for the blu ray transfer and it looks better than releases today. It makes for a very fun and new experience.

Well told story of the five points of New York and the people who protect them. Daniel Day Lewis and Leonardo DiCaparo gave believable protrayals of a man of power and a son looking for revenge for his father's death in a dark era of gangs.

I enjoyed this movie when I first watched it and have also enjoyed viewing it the second and third times....the cast was amazing and the Scorsese did a terrific job of putting this together. Intense film-making at it's best!!

I really enjoyed watching this movie. I was forced to buy this movie for a class assignment, overall, I really enjoyed it even though I had to write a report.

Outstanding flick, DDL as always, delivers. Historical references were way cool and cinematography was awesome. Prepare yourself because it is graphic but well worth the shock value. Highly recommended.

Another winning movie by Martin Scorsese. The quality of this movie just all around top notch. The Bluray has excellent transfer and plenty of extras to burn through. Highly Recommended!

I enjoy historical movies. Nice to see old New York and to see some of the era of nativism that was a large part of our history. The actors did a great job and loved the fight scenes too.

Got this to replace my regular dvd that got messed up. Love this movie. Top of the line cast. One of my favorites just to throw on and have playing in the background.
