Awesome GPS easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gps for any one. Very easy to set up and use. Would recommend the unit to everyone. One last thing it is big enough to see with out taking your eye off of the road.

Difficult-To-Use Piece Of Unreliable (Expletive)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For simple applications, probably works okay, but try modifying the route, or god forbid you try to import a route generated from Garmin's worthless BaseCamp route planner software, and you may as well forget it. Route planner software has essentially no documentation, is far from intuitive, and even when you do something right, you only have about 20% chance of getting it onto your GPS - and if it's not the route automatically plotted, then you have about a 98% chance of the GPS locking up while calculating the route. I would have bought a TomTom, but I read that it has a dim screen. Best Buy had a working demo of the Garmin at the store. It tried it, and it seemed okay, so I was suckered into buying it. I spent $80 (non-refundable) on a map of Greece for my upcoming trip, so I wasted my money on that, in addition to the GPS! Maybe TomTom is just as bad (I'm about to find out!), but for darn sure, the Garmin is only good for throwing out windows (also about to find out!)!!! May see if I can get my $ back from Best Buy...

Best GPS Ever!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While vacationing in Texas, our old Garmin died! We have always traveled with a Garmin, since we retired 8 years ago. Luckily we had noticed a Best Buy a few miles away and drove there. They had a large selection. Based on our experience with 2 prior Garmin GPSs, we reviewed each model and decided on this one. This is a major upgrade to our old GPS, so many great features. After driving a couple of hours, a window opens and lets you know where the nearest rest area is, restaurants, and gas stations. As you drive on the interstate, the map shows if gas stations or restaurants/fast food are at each exit. When you enter your route, if toll roads are involved - it gives you an option to include or exclude toll roads on your route. Also, when entering your destination, when you start to type out the city, a number of city names automatically pop up which are similar to the name you are typing. The same happens when you type out street addresses. What a great help! There are probably more helpful tools included, but we have only owned this for a month. Would highly recommend this GPS

Very helpful GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Tom Tom was due to be replaced and I decided to give Garmin a try. I settled on this one because of price and screen size. Lifetime map updates isn't a bad feature either versus $50-60/year with competitors. I travel a lot to unfamiliar areas and this makes getting around easy. What's really nice is when it is time to go home and I select the rental car lot, it asks me if I want to get gas first and I can select a gas station near the destination. Turning the unit on and getting a GPS signal happens much quicker than my old unit. I think I'm ready to go usually in just seconds as opposed to a minute or two with my old unit. Its lane guidance is illustrated on screen and verbalized; the latter is very helpful in heavy traffic. Two things I wish this unit had: voice control and traffic. You'll have to upgrade to a $270ish model for traffic and I'm not sure about voice.

Upgrade that Nuvi Today!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded my old Nuvi. Love the 6 inch screen. That is a perfect size. Same easy software that is more user friendly. Love the new/big keyboard. The fact it auto searchs 3 states for the address without having to change the city. Speed limit and school zone alerts are awesome!!! Upgrade today. You won't regret it.

Great GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new GPS to replace my very old 3" screen Garmin. Since I really liked the old Garmin, I decided to stay with that brand. I was not disappointed. The screen on this GPS is huge and is perfect for using in bigger vehicles i.e. larger trucks and SUVs. Really like that I get lifetime map updates as my old system I had to pay for them. Very easy to use. I gave it a 4 star rating only because I find it difficult to put it on and remove it from the windshield suction mount. Overall I would recommend this GPS to anyone looking for a large screen easy to use GPS.

Easy to use and much more useful than older models
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave accurate routes that included rest areas on the Interstates. Was very useful on state roads when had to find alternate routes around flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew. I liked the quick and quiet re-routing when I selected newer distinations. The big screen made it easier to read. The life time uploading of data will be useful and it is easy to accomplish.

A Better GPS experience than my Cell phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first GPS a decade ago unit was a TomTom. After it was damaged I began using my Cell Phone as a GPS and found that if I was driving more than 5 hours the battery would go dead even though the phone was plugged into the charger. This left me with no GPS (or phone) twice. One of those times left me with no directions just as I was about to cross the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan for the first time. NOT FUN. The Garmin Drive 60LM has a large easy to read screen and when set vertically it shows your route for miles ahead. Because it is ONLY a GPS it is not wasting power on other tasks like a phone and the battery never drains while driving and charging. This unit does not have Bluetooth wireless or a headphone jack, so you will not be able to listen to its directions through your radio. However, the voice directions are clear and as loud as you need them from the units own speaker. I won't be going back to my phone as a GPS after enjoying this large screen unit.

Decent GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does what it is supposed to do for the most part... but it gave us bogus directions once. Make sure you connect to a computer and keep it updated. The talking voice is pleasant. Directions are usually given with time to react. Good overall investment for peace of mind when driving to unfamiliar places.

Great GPS Unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This my third Garmin GPS unit and the best I have had. The larger screen makes it so much easier to see while driving. I have GPS built into my car, but it requires you to look away from the road to view. The Garmin allows me to see it without taking my eyes off the road.

Really like Garmin!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fourth Garmin GPS, and it is a nice upgrade from my previous model... Went from 4 inch screen to a 6 inch, and it really helps! Never been crazy about the suction cup mounting, so I use an optional mounting pad that just sits on the dash. I can set the unit on the floor when parked, so that is a much better use for me. I like the lifetime map updates. I am well pleased with this newer unit!

Great GPS for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is just a basic GPS but does everything you really need a GPS for. I liked being able to download the addresses from my old GPS. It is easy to edit and delete contacts.

Works Well, But So Did The Other Two
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to be a major improvement over previous models. My concern is that this one is to replace the previous one that replaced the first one. They seem to die in the oppressive heat of central Florida. This one has many new features and is a marked improvement over the previous model. I'm pleased with it and can recommend it as long as you buy the extended warranty.

Has not failed so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this has been a great GPS. The screen is nice and big and the vocal directions are very clear. If you go off course, by accident or on purpose, it doesn't say "recalculating" 10 times like the old Garmin NUVI does, it just determines where you need to go to get back on track or figures out the best new route based on the turns you have taken. Also, rather than say "turn left on whatever street" which may or may not have a street sign, it simply says turn left at the light. Very conversational. The unit also somehow knows when the speed limit changes and notifies you when the limit will be dropping. As you pass the sign on the road the limit on the display also changes. It will also find restaurants or places of interest versus a specific address. Put in Best Buy and it will find all of them within a given radius of your location. Pick the one you prefer and it takes you there. We went for a college tour and once on the campus it even knew the different building names so we could find the one we needed. Very slick and so far has not steered us wrong.
