    Best Garmin Ever!

This is 4th Garmin I've owned and by far the best. 6" screen changes everything for my 64 yr old eyes. It was my partner in safely navigating incessant LA & San Diego traffic on our 3 week trip in a rental SUV. Voice Command worked perfectly compared to built in GPS units in our vehicles at home--this unit understood virtually every strange SoCal name I mumbled into it. Blue Tooth allowed me to monitor incoming calls w/o picking up my phone & facing potential ticket. Split screen with detailed turn & lane descriptions were extremely helpful and accurate--I never missed a turn. Upcoming traffic delays & alternate route info were spot on, accurately informing how far ahead, how long the jamb would last and how many minutes delay to add--especially helpful in LA. The pop up warnings proved to be more helpful than I ever imagined. What a value with lifetime traffic updates. Best of all, this easy to read & use unit costs less than a single update on the built in units in my current vehicles. Only drawback was the extra weight and size required some creative positioning with the floppy tripad base I used for my older, smaller Garmins. Using the windshield mount places the unit too far away since I usually move my seat back as far as it goes.

The GPS seems to work well. I have it synced with the app for traffic and it gives you a lot of alerts, but you can turn off the ones you do not want. The battery life is not very strong, so you need to run it off of the power cord the majority of the time. I like the 6 inch size and voice control works well about 75% of the time. I cannot fault the voice control that much because it works just as well as the voice commands on my phone. I don't use the bluetooth for calling, so I cannot comment on that feature.

I love this GPS it is so easy to use if you say VoiceCommands there are a lot of different commands that can be done, the first one is find an address and you can dictate the address to the GPS or you say find an interception or you can say phonebook it acts like a Bluetooth and you can make calls or receive calls from the GPS it also has lifetime maps and lifetime traffic.

I've purchased Garmin GPS units since they became available so many years ago and didn't even have enough memory for maps. This new one is a nice improvement. The screen is big and very legible without being over sized. I like the new spoken directions in the new units. Instead of "Turn Left on Main Street" it says, "Turn left at the stop light" etc. The animated visual lane indications on highways are also much better than previous models. The hardware is better too, my older unit used to constantly fall out of its window bracket. This unit is much more secure and the on/off power button is easy to find and press. The one thing that I don't like about these units and which has NOT changed here is even if you constantly download the newest Garmin map updates, you'll STILL see restaurants and shops that have closed years ago, and new changes to highways are usually not found for a year or more. I've just downloaded the second version of the "2017" Garmin map (even though it's only July 2016) and old restaurants are still listed and the newer ones haven't found their way to the GPS. That being said, I'm still very happy with my new Garmin DriveSmart GPS and would recommend this to anyone.

I tried the Magellan, but the Garmin inputs and controls are much more intuitive, simple and straight forward. The data points such as speed zones vs actual speed, turns, and graphics are all very useful. When you use this GPS, you aren't left guessing. Routes are very accurate. The six-inch screen is well worth the relatively little extra money.

I purchased this unit to replace a Nuvi 65LMT that bricked after an update. I was in a crunch but wanted the 6 inch screen and the full North America maps. Here are my observations so far: A lot of people have made a big deal about the screen being glossy and not matte. Yes it is hard to see in direct sun, but adjusting the angle slightly seems to fix this problem easily. Also the glossy glass screen is way easier to clean and also clearer at night. This unit wants to warn you. About every thing. Repeatedly. I am still struggling to turn it all off, but in the space of driving one block I received notifications for: an upcoming school, a church, a curve, an animal crossing (still confused about that one). I would;t mind but by default these are visual and audio warnings. Basically, the GPS would never shut up. I finally found out how to turn off the auditory alerts, but you still get visual warnings that can block out the maps and the distance indicator. I am hoping this is fixed in a future firmware release. The search function has a preference for locations that are tagged in foursquare, Unfortunately this can get confusing when you have more than one location around with the same name as it will rank the foursquare higher ever when it is farther away. Luckily it changes the location icon so you get a hint that it was picked due to foursquare and not distance. It seems to have a weird problem with detours. If you detour on a route it will occasionally disable the turn by turn prompts. I have had this happen 4 times so far. After talking to Garmin support I found out this is a known bug and will be fixed in a future upgrade. It loves giving you a ton of info. Between the lane information, turn assistance and the years old snap shots of some intersections it always seems to be popping up a sun screen. As I live at the edges of suburbia I probably see this more than some one more rural so your milage will very on this. Keeping all this in mind, I have barely gotten into all the features that are packed into this unit. I just wanted a simple offline GPS that could do turn by turn voice prompts with a big screen. This device does so much more that it can actually be distracting. All in all it is a good unit if you LOVE gadgets and it does as advertised. But if all you want is a basic widescreen GPS with turn by turn and lane indicators - you might want to keep looking.

I love the wide screen. I mainly use this for traffic because I only travel to Denver to work. I like that it tells me of the delay time and reroutes me if needed. I like the voice commands and Bluetooth, also

I upgraded my Garmin from one I purchased about 8 years ago. It was a basic unit but I used it and it did the job. But this new one is great! Entering addresses with voice command works perfectly and quickly. The screen is bigger than my old unit, which is a big help. The included lifetime access to maps and waypoints will save the $50 I paid in the past for updat s. The system is fast. Very fast start time. I also noticed an improvement in calculated routes. I could have bought a cheaper unit--or more expensive, but this unit has all the features I want and use. A great value!

I bought this Garmin for a 5000 mile road trip across the USA and back. The screen is easy to read and large enough to be effective in any situation. Too bad the Garmin maps are NOT up to date. I stayed in 8 different hotels over the span of three weeks on my trip. I made sure to check for and download the current map before I left. Three of the addresses I needed to drive to did NOT exist according to Garmin. They DID show up on Google maps. I had to use a nearby location for each in order to get close then find the hotels. These were in cities of Amarillo TX, Tulsa OK and Greenville SC... so there was no reason for them NOT to be in the Garmin map database. These properties had all been in existence for 2-4 years

This is an excellent GPS with current features. The wireless phone features are excellent. The battery time is about normal for a GPS. The screen size is large and doesn't conflict at night.

I love this gps . Screen is big which is good for me to see the street names cause i wear glasses i would usually quit because I couldn't see the street names I love that when you were driving it showed you little icons of gas stations are restaurants would be coming up to and it's voice activated so that we could just stay where you want to go instead of having to type it in the touch the screen while you're driving. It has a split screen so you know which lane to be in which i found to be very helpfull when i was driving to mexico and i had to drive threw LA with all its lanes for my first time driving their i left really confident i wouldnt get lost cause of the gps and its split screen .All in all its a really good probuct i love it .

The 60 LMT - 6 GPS replaced an aging Garmin. This company has a respectable history of producing great, solid products. This new unit will link up to satellite much quicker than the unit it replaced. The advanced warning features, alerting you to intersection photo cameras, curvy roads, school zones. If you live in the city, this can get annoying as it will go off frequently. Luckily you can disable this feature, however, I decided to keep in enabled. The touch screen is shiny instead of matted, so you may have to find the perfect angle that it doesn't produce as much glare. The graphics are crisp and the larger screens are more usable in split screen mode. I'm satisfied with my purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends.

I was looking to upgrade my GPS and decided on the Garmin - DriveSmart 60LMT 6. It is awesome! Does everything you would want and allows you to not to have to rely on your phone GPS. The bigger screen is really nice and I've found it very easy to program and use. Highly recommend this model if you are in the market!

Do you ever blow through your data for the month because of using your GPS/Maps/Waze app? Step back in time a bit, and save some money in the long run. Pick up a GPS! The Garmin 60 LMT GPS is a slightly larger, but greatly useful tool. It is very accurate, allows for lifetime map updates (connect to your laptop/desktop), shows real-time traffic, and can be synched to your phone with bluetooth. Best of all? None of your smartphone data is used!

I haven't used a stand alone GPS since I had an old Garmin unit that quit working that wouldn't update past the year 2008 maps. This one worked flawlessly out of the box, has a great large screen, easy to find addresses, and hasn't gotten me lost yet! While the glossy screen does show some glare in bright sunlight, it's not a big issue or deal breaker whatsoever. I am very happy with my purchase and plan to get lots of use out of this unit.
