I'm really happy with my watch thus far. It is very comfortable and easy to read. Took me a little bit to get used to the controls to change modes and access the features, but it's very easy now that I know the menus. Only complaint is that it takes longer to sync to satellites than I think it should. But, that is manageable!

Just did a 9 day kayak trip to Rio Grande, I uploaded data (coordinates) for each specific camp and it was really helpfull, when having it tracking route for more than 6 hrs it will have issues to save data, reset will be needed, in some cases information will not be saved or points will be missed. Overall, it kept me informed on progress, saved a lot of time on route verification and helped the team to be calm and informed. Battery life will last all day long with GPS tracking, will need to use a rechargeable pack to keep it charged, I used a 2200 Mah and I was ok for the whole week.

Best watch for sports so far. It also connects with my iphone. Nothing against, but if you can, buy the newer model. There are more features.

The watch I purchased had to be sent to Garmin because of a bad battery. They sent me a refurbished unit. It just died and worst it had my mount Whitney summit data on it and Garmin made no effort to scrub from the memory. This was the reason for my purchase. I like what the watch is suppose to do but I was left short and disappointed!

This is a fantastic watch if purchased for the purpose in which it is intended. This watch is for those who are active and want to track their miles for running, cycling, climbing, etc. It is higher end and the quality shows. I found it easy to use and with impressive features. Those who do not need the altimeter and barometer and need to track steps should look at the Vivoactive instead. I would consider this watch a little more "hardcore". It may be a bit larger than some would prefer but it is a solid unit, waterproof to significant depths and has the features for serious adventurers.

Great multi-functional watch. However, no battery life to support it's functions. I received as a Xmas present thinking it was solar. Charged up, used in hiking mode to just track my distance for a day and didn't last. Turn on the Bluetooth to get messages and doesn't last a day. In watch mode have been letting it just sit to see if it last the 5 weeks advertised. So far one week. Unless battery life is better, it is just an expensive GPS which you could replace with phone.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We've had several software updates for the fenix 2 released that address potential battery life issues, so we strongly suggest that you get the latest software if you have not yet already. To do that, you can use Garmin Express at http://www.garmin.com/express

Bought the Fenix 2 because of the extended battery life option. Used it a couple of times and so far has worked great. Some of the info is a bit hard to read while running because of the small font,

It connected to the satellites perfect even when I was inside. I love the swim feature, that is why I originally bought it. I don't really use many other features, but it has a lot of them.

I have had this watch for 3 months now and with longer bike rides and warmer weather I'm starting to see a huge issue with it dying as soon as I try to save a workout. Search the web and you'll see plenty of reports. The watch now dies on me at random moments, corrupts data, and requires a series of button presses just to revive it. This must be the reason Garmin released the Fenix 3. The F2 is rubbish.

For the best experience, it is important to make sure the fēnix 2 software is up to date. Commonly this issue is caused by corrupted activity data or a corrupt file on the device if the software is current. For further assistance with this please contact us at Garmin.com/Support. -LB Garmin

I used mainly for indoor swimming, works well, however it is no easy to program all the functions. I paired it with a nexus 5, no issues with bluetooth conectivity.
