Customers are enthusiastic about the 7.4 cu. Ft. Smart Electric Dryer's quiet operation and energy efficiency. However, some customers reported that the dryer did not completely dry clothes in a single cycle and that items sometimes became tangled. Improvements in drying performance and cycle completion notification are suggested. The sleek design was also a positive aspect noted by customers.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. This unit does have the Smart features so you can get notifications through the Smart HQ app when connected to your Wi-Fi. The Smart HQ app will ensure your dryer always has the latest features, including extra cycles for active wear and casuals Plus, easily control and monitor your laundry from anywhere, receive remote status notifications and more. As for the noise, we would suggest checking the use and care manual that is on the website troubleshooting section (page 15) It may be that the unit is sitting unevenly. We would suggest moving the dryer to an even floor space or adjusting leveling legs as necessary until even. GE_Appliances

We are sorry to hear your dryer isn't drying the clothes properly. We recommend making sure you have a heat setting on and it isn't inadvertently set to no heat. Try timed dry and high heat and see if you notice a difference. If you still have issues, please take advantage of your warranty by calling

We purchased this dryer and the matching washer on February 17th. The earliest delivery date available was March 5th. The appliances arrived and the washer was dented and scratched. We opted to return it for one that wasn't damaged. It ended up being on backorder and we didn't receive the replacement until April 6th. We got the machines hooked up on April 14th and everything was fantastic...until it wasn't. On May 2nd, the dryer stopped mid-dry and the control panel was completely frozen. We unplugged it and plugged it back in and the screen went blank. We had an electrician come check the wiring since it's a new remodel and the electrical was all cleared. We contacted Best Buy and they offered to replace it with a new unit, but of course - it was on back order. The new dryer arrived on May 27th and we lived happily ever after....until we didn't. Yesterday, the dryer had the exact same malfunction and is now dead. I contacted Best Buy this morning requesting to return both machines and go with something different which they refused since we were beyond the 60 day window for the washer. They did offer to replace the dryer...again. And yet again, it's on backorder. So we won't get our newest replacement until July 23rd. I reached out to GE via Facebook to talk to them about this issue and provided video proof, but they have not responded. We went with GE because they are a trusted brand and known to produce quality products, but since purchasing these machines in February, we've only been able to use them for just over a month total. We have an infant and have had to rely on my in-laws to dry our clothes for us for weeks on end. Best Buy doesn't seem to be concerned by the recurring issue and will likely just keep replacing my machine until it finally breaks outside of the 60-day window and it's not longer their headache. When the machines are working, they are fantastic, but I cannot recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality machine. And to address the issue that many others have listed about it not drying clothes, just like with everything else we buy these days, they have installed an eco dry option that is the default setting and it does NOT dry your clothes in one run so you are forced to run the same load 2-3 times. Not very eco-friendly. If you want a dry load of laundry in one run, just turn off eco mode...every. single. load.
