This GE Profile - Opal 2.0 Ultra Nugget Ice Maker is the top-of-the-line model that has every feature available. Look for the word: "ULTRA" in the description to be sure you get this flagship product. Unique features include: 1- Stainless Steel Ice Scoop (not plastic, as the other GE Profile models are) 2- Side Tank for additional water storage 3- All Stainless Steel front. Look above the clear ice bin. Ultra is Stainless Steel; the regular GE Profile is gray plastic at the top. 4- Scale inhibiting filter is included with Ultra; it is not included with any other GE Profile Ice Maker.     A $600.00 item if include protection plan. I LOVE the ice. But this model you need sanitize( bleach clean cycle) every 2 weeks and every 3 weeks need descale (vinegar clean cycle) You have to replace the filter ( $30.00 item) every 3 weeks.

    I purchased the GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ultra Nugget Ice Maker for my fiance, and she couldn’t be happier!     We love this thing so much!! It just works! If I could change one thing, I would want the plastic scooper rather than the stainless. The ice quickly freezes to it. It’s just makes it more of a hassle. I still would highly recommend getting this but also get the protection plan!! Our last one the water level indicator messed up and it stopped making ice. Lasted year and half, but we also have extremely hard water and I cleaned this as directed.

    As much as I would love to write a wonderful reveal, unfortunately I am unable to. I purchase the ice-maker on November 11, 2024 and by 1 January it was given me nothing but trouble it keeps telling me to add water. It has a full side tank and I put water in the bottom tank. Neither make it make ice. It’s just tells me to add water there must be some type of sensor or something that’s gone bad not good for the price. That’s for sure. I’ve been trying to figure it out. We’ve tried everything making sure the doors shut all the way I’ve cleaned it four times and it still won’t make ice. I’ve did the bleach cleansing. I did the deep cleansing with the staining with the vinegar, pure vinegar, even that didn’t work. Nothing seems to clean it or do enough to make it make ice all it keeps telling me to add water even though it’s got enough water so I can’t figure out what to do for it returning it lotta waste I really like the ice tubes and the was good wallet lasted, but if these machines can’t make ice for at least a year When you’re doing maintenance weekly and it’s still not keeping it up and using good filtered water and it has a filter that they have you put in and it’s supposed to help distilled water doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter what you do these things act up and don’t make ice I haven’t found a icemaker that I can get past 2 to 3 months without a issue. This one for the price really was a disappointment. I was hoping I got at least least a year before having an issue. Sad not gonna happen. Totally disappointed with GE profile icemaker.

    Love love love. We got this because we use a lot of ice. We use it every day and it has been a godsend. The only issue we’ve had is about a week ago, it started saying “add water” and shutting off when it did not need water. We are in the process of troubleshooting and think it might be the filter. Wish us luck!

You may also notice the ADD WATER notification, even though you have water in the reservoir.     This ice maker is hands down the best one! We have had a few other "sonic" like ice makers in the past and they do not compare to how much better this one is. We are a family of 5, we have many get togethers with friends and we have yet to run out if ice. It makes ice fast. It is very quiet in comparison with other makers we have had. I love that it has a light feature to see the ice in the holder, especially at night... Hands down it is #1 in my opinion.

    A lot of research landed us on the GE Profile Opal 2.0 and we were not disappointed. Nothing better than having nugget ice on demand. Easy set-up, low maintenance, amazing ice! Purchased with the Best Buy warranty, as with all my purchases, but no issues so far. Still producing quick ice and is an absolute hit for my family and friends.

    I love this ice maker I already had the opal ice maker but this ultra is everything and more. With the filter and magnetic scoop holder was an absolute bonus GE did their Big one with the ultra with the added sanitize and clean features are a nice bonus as well.

    I had an issue with previous machine making a screeching noice to make ice so I upgraded to 2.0 and after a month it would say add water for it to make ice even though the bin and reservoir was full , i did all the trouble shooting and still wouldn't work till i took out the filter and just put the plug/screen in place and the machine started to make ice. I think its the filter that was clogged so I ordered a new one to see if that takes care of the issue, I'll report back once i get the new filter installed.

    Love the color and that this model comes with a metal ice scoop that stays in the magnetic holder. It makes ice quickly and doesn't require much maintenance. It is also pretty quiet.

    This machine is worth the money! I had a different brand before that broke so I needed a new one. I love this machine and how well it makes the ice. It’s very specific on how you clean it after so long!

    I love this ice machine! Yes it does make some times noises but I don't care because the ice is so wonderful it does not matter about the noise. As long as it works I'm totally happy with it!

    Love the ice but hate the noise it makes. It is always a little loud but occasionally it starts making really loud whining noises. Not sure I would purchase it again.

    Extremely Disappointing - Same Issues Persist

    I initially bought the previous version of this GE ice maker and had to return it three times due to faulty component issues, only to find out it had a known, unfixable problem. Frustrated, I upgraded to this newer model, hoping GE had addressed the issues—but unfortunately, it suffers from the exact same problems. Despite following all care instructions, including cleaning it twice a month and using filtered water, the compressor began making loud, unsettling noises within the first month. For a $600 appliance, this is unacceptable. I expected reliability and quality from GE, but instead, I'm dealing with the same recurring issues. I’ll be returning this and opting for a different brand.

    Just upgraded our home bar area with the GE Opal 2.0 Icemaker and are very pleased. The icemaker is very efficient and quiet. The cleaning process takes some time but overall, well worth it.
