Perfect laptop for kids
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My goddaughter loves this laptop! I was looking at a new laptop for her as she loves Minecraft and needed her own laptop for back to school. She kept saying to me that it was too hard to share a laptop with her sisters and this seemed to be a good starter laptop that could be all hers. So her godmother stepped in for a fun new purchase and all seems great. While I was considering a few other laptops online, when I saw this GeoBook I thought it would be perfect and it was the right price point. She absolutely loves it and said its light and very easy to use. Green is her favorite color so that was an added bonus As an additional bonus, this laptop came with free year of Microsoft office. Note the free Microsoft 365 Personal Package is already bundled inside the laptop. When I went to checkout online at Bestbuy.com it was offered as separate discounted purchase bundle but you don't need that (so nice cost savings for me!) This GeoBook also has a much better camera for zoom calls as she has already been zooming with friends and me so I'm able to stay in touch with her easier in our separate homes. This is a great lightweight laptop that I'd highly recommend.

It's alright for a budget laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's alright for a budget laptop. There were 2 early reviews (maybe even the same person) who apparently got a free one sent to them as professional reviewers. They claimed it has USB-C charging. No, it does not. The manufacturer confirmed in the Q&A that it does not have USB-C charging. I've been using it for over a year now and can confirm it does not have USB-C charging. That aside, the best thing about this laptop is the unique color. I bought the lavendar. I was worried it might look child-like but it is perfectly suitable for an adult to use. It's a lighter/softer color than appears on screen. It's also one of the few laptops I can find with a smaller screen, which I prefer for portability. Now, the downsides. The first laptop I got had dead pixels. I sent it back and got another. (UPS made sure to smash the box even worse the 2nd time around, but that's a different story.) The screen has awful color settings out of the box. I spent some time fiddling with the color balance to get the screen somewhat reasonable. The keys are difficult to read because they are white imprint on very light lavendar. This turns out to be a bigger annoyance than I expected, considering that I touch-type. I still need to look down at the keyboard for certain symbols, numbers, punctuation. The touchpad isn't great quality either. It will often jump around the screen and register phantom clicks. Despite the drawbacks, I think it's a decent laptop for the Black Friday price.

Great Kid's First Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After almost a year of my son using my nice laptop for remote learning and getting the keyboard all sticky, I finally gave in and decided to buy him his own laptop. After doing some research, I narrowed down my choices to HP, ASUS, and Geo, but here's what ultimately made me choose Geo over others: the size and weight. HP and ASUS had similar spec devices but with 14" and 15" screens, they weren't as portable as this 12.5" screen device. Plus the webcam had 1080p vs others at 720p which is better for his Zoom classes. Geo also came with free Minecraft game, stickers, and a cool keyboard guide too, which won bonus points from my son as well.

Best affordable Windows laptop @ 2021 Black Friday
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GeoBook 120 Minecraft Edition is the best affordable Windows 10 laptop in this 2021 Black Friday season. It has the same price with other colored GeoBook 120, and includes a Microsoft store copy of Minecraft and stickers. However, it doesn't look like a toy because the inner color is black. I bought it for my light office work on the go. The keys are fairly large compared to the small size. This unit sips the power. The power adapter charges it with 12V/2A. The 4 core Celeron CPU is not bad, but sometimes I had to reboot the system to resolve unresponsiveness. The 61GB (57 GiB) EMMC is fairly fast compared to usual USB/SD card. It is not Chromebook, and includes all the features of Windows 10 Home. While overall build quality is good, the screen might be one of the cheapest one in the market. My unit has 3 light spots in upper right corner, and the TN panel shows a significant color change when adjusting the screen angle. It is good enough when I put it on the desk, but it is not comfortable on the bed. If your elementary school child is not fussy about the details, it would be a great gift for them.

Great first laptop for kids!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the GeoBook laptop because I needed an affordable laptop for my 8 year old son for school. It is perfect for his needs. It is very lightweight so it is easy for him to take in and out of his backpack. He has been able to use it in school as well as for learning games such as prodigy. He loved that it is a Minecraft laptop and came with Minecraft stickers. Set up was easy and as an added bonus it came with a year subscription to Microsoft 365.

Sweet Pink Laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE pink! Hot pink to be more specific. The color just makes me happy and makes anything ordinary into extraordinary. So I *had* to get this as soon as I saw it. And guess what? The color is even better in person and the laptop coating feels really nice. Even though it’s a pretty affordable laptop, it looks and feels more expensive. And set-up was a breathe and I was able to use it in no time as it came with a free Microsoft 365 subscription. So if you are looking for a fun laptop to match your outfits or personality, I highly recommend this hot pink laptop!

Look Elsewhere. This thing is TERRIBLE .
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my daughter this Christmas because we are going to start home-schooling after winter break. We were very excited for them. Good price, seemingly good specs ( especially for the price ) , looked good. It looked to have everything we wanted. Well I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in them . They look good, feel cheap and the load time compares to AOL dialup on my dads Win 95 desktop. It is so slow and also, something seems to be wrong with some pixels on the screen. I am just very disappointed . I got this one for my daughter and for my son we got the GeoBook 240 ( I believe that is the one ). It had fantastic specs and is also TERRIBLE TERRIBLE . My advice would be to try and buy something else . Hopefully I can get help with returning this or finding something else for my kids . Thanks for listening to me ramble

Awesome 1st computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What an adorable 1st laptop for my nephew. I fell in love with the color and size of this laptop. It’s compact and lightweight. Perfect to carry to school if needed. I bought it more for the aesthetics but this little guy packs a punch. With a free 12 month MS 365 software it was a no brainer. I opened it and gave it a test run. It was easy to use. I recommend this laptop for a child’s (and adult) needs.

Pretty Purple Laptop for Everyday Use
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was casually browsing for a new day-to-day laptop when I came across this lovely lavender laptop. While my budget allowed for a laptop with more power, I couldn’t bring myself to buy a regular old black or silver laptop after seeing this laptop. I thought, why not get an aesthetically pleasing laptop since it sits on my tiny desk all day and becomes a part of the decor? I’m glad I took a leap of faith and bought this laptop. I’ve never heard of Geo brand before but thought I can take it back to Best Buy if anything went wrong. As soon as I unopened the box and saw this laptop, it was love at first sight. The soft lavender color made me change the way I look at laptops—it can be a decor and even an accessory, in addition to being functional. The laptop works well for the price. I like the keyboard and touch pad more than more expensive laptops I’ve tried, and it works fine for checking emails, online shopping, etc. as well as tasks using Microsoft Office.

Nursing Student
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for what I needed for. I wanted something small enough to take with me while I was in clinicals just in case we had some downtime to finish assignments and this did the job. I would definitely recommend it for kids 8 and up. But it’s also great for a beginner adult or student in need to finish a quick assignment. The color is a beautiful lavender.

GREEN Windows 10 Laptop with Extra
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Green is my nephew's favorite color and he LOVES Minecraft, so I was excited when I saw this bright green Windows 10 laptop at Best Buy. I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this for his 10th birthday gift at first as I've never heard of Geo brand before, but I decided to take a chance since it's under $300 and I figured that because Best Buy is a reputable retailer, I can always return it if he didn't like it. I'm glad I went ahead and bought this for him--despite its price and compact size, it's a solid basic PC, and it comes with free Minecraft and stickers! Now my nephew thinks I'm the coolest auntie.

Great value and excellent for kids
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 5 YO daughter loves this computer. She loves the bright, fresh fabulous pink color and is learning how to navigate games on it. We are letting her play on it now, and then she will use it for her home computer for kindergarten. It has great resolution, good functionability, a nice rubberized finish and light enough for her to carry. The finish helps prevent her from dropping it. It is perfect for a kid to use and carry. We are super excited about her being able to use this now and grow with it!

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GeoBook laptop does the job for a kid's school tasks. Having a Minecraft game installed in the device is a unique feature. Browsing speed is decent. The quality of video is sharp. Zoom video call is a little grainy which is comparable to the $400-HP chromebook we also have. Considering its price point and features, this laptop exceeded my expectations.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our son loves Minecraft and was very excited when we picked up this computer! Great, light, reasonably priced and great value
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this computer! It is so versatile. It is so fun to hold. It has this soft, rubberlike material that makes it easy and fun to grip. So light and easy to carry. It has great speed, and a small but easy to use keyboard. I have been gaming with it, and enjoying it for that. Also, useful for regular day to day use. I will let my kids use this computer too because they love the color, and I think it will be very user friendly for them. LOVE the purple color. This is a great value, IMO. Highly recommend.

Daily Driver for the Kids, Family
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Geo 120 laptop is catered for those looking to perform basic tasks or those who need to run non-demanding Windows applications, all on a budget. The Intel Celeron Dual Core N4020 processor can handle most jobs, but it will definitely feel sluggish overall if you’ve got something much faster at home. This is due to the eMMC storage that performs slightly better than an traditional 7200rpm HDD, but helps keep the overall dollar costs down for the laptop. I think the price vs performance is perfect for our kids in school that are starting to dig into Word or staying connected to their classroom assignments online. Although advertised with 64GB eMMC, you’ll have around 25-30GB of usable space due to the Windows installation, so that’s something to think about if you have space requirements. Luckily, you can insert an additional max 64GB MicroSD card for more storage. The 4GB of RAM clearly highlights its weight class, which is to be the best at web browsing or streaming video content, but not all at once. As far as gaming, I was able to give Roblox a test drive, which is currently the game-of-choice for the kids at home. The UHD630 did struggle slightly with frame rates and input response, but it was still playable. Battery life lasted about 7-8 hours under normal basic use. There’s a lot to enjoy about this laptop. The keys are very large and tactile and there is just the right amount of “click” with each key press. I like the omission of the touchpad left/right buttons as it is integrated within the touchpad itself. This gives you more touchpad real estate. The screen’s hinge is strong enough to keep it from drooping during sudden movements or adjustments. 1366x768p is a great choice of resolution for a 12.5” screen and also helps increase battery life. The laptop will get a little warm during heavy loads (playing Roblox, for example), but it didn’t bother me. The laptop is very quiet due to its passive cooling method (no fans). The baby-blue color just speaks to the kids! I especially loved that I could charge the laptop (with a laptop-rated charger) through the USB-C port, which means I don’t have to carry it’s proprietary charger around when I travel with it. The front-facing camera is perfect for Zoom calls and the sound output is adequate. It’s lightweight at 3lbs and less than ¾ inch thick when closed. There are a couple of things that I wish this laptop had. For one, it would have been nice to have a backlit keyboard. Second, I wish I could upgrade the eMMC storage to an NVMe drive as this would surely give this machine a performance boost. For me, the touchpad doesn’t perform well during small, precise movements. I felt like it lagged or drifted on its own when performing these small adjustments. Also, I am concerned about its durability since its outer shell is entirely made of plastic. I didn’t knock off points for its overall performance because at its price point, it’s actually doing a heck of a job. Lastly, the laptop comes configured in “S” mode, which locks the laptop down to Microsoft approved software, but you can easily switch out of this mode if you choose to do so. I switched out so I could install Chrome Browser. I’ve honestly never heard of Geo Computers until I saw this laptop. After visiting their website, I’ve learned that Geo Computers are the largest UK-based supplier of OEM devices. They are part of the Tactus Group and are winners of the 2021 Microsoft Device Partner of the Year Award. And so they grace us with their Geo 120 to compete in the very heavy entry-level laptop class, and it really doesn’t disappoint at its price point.
