The good: Music that follows you around the house, voice calling without your phone and wire-free intercom! The bad: Fiddly user interface and erratic setup. For those who have been all-in on Google's Nest ecosystem from day one, these speakers are a no-brainer. Google has recently updated its Home app to include household routines and activities on top of standard device controls. That means you can set your bedroom Nest Audio to gently wake you with your favorite streaming tunes, and your kitchen Nest Audio speakers to tell you the weather and when your first meeting of the day starts. It also seamlessly integrates with other Nest products, so you can control your Nest thermostat and cameras from a unified dashboard. Pair two Nest Audio devices in a room and you get stereo sound without the wires. My favorite feature is the intercom: Just say "Hey Google, announce!" and it will broadcast whatever you say next to all Nest Audios, or even to select rooms. All that said, setting up these devices is not for the faint of heart. Adding new devices can be tricky, and often can take two or three attempts to get each speaker authenticated. Devices will sometimes randomly fall off your home wi-fi network, requiring a 'factory reset' and going through the motions of re-authenticating. For those willing to put up with a little extra digital elbow grease, the ability to have music playing around the house far outweighs the disadvantages. There are other multi-room options out there, but the Nest Audio series is an excellent overall value.

Hi jdlonn, thanks for giving us a detailed review of Nest Audio. We're glad to hear that you liked the speaker group, broadcast voice-messaging and voice-calling features. We also appreciate that you shared some of the negative experience you had with the fiddly user interface, erratic setup and the difficulty you had in adding new devices.

If the buggy issues are quite persistent, you can try resetting Nest Audio to try and fix the issue. Keep in mind that resetting Nest Audio will erase all data and you may need to set it up again. To reset, check on the back of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting. If you need further help in fixing any other issue, or if you need further guidance with any of the awesome features of Nest Audio, please consider contacting our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

I have a hub and a couple minis. This big boy doesnt feel cheap. Easy to setup like the rest. Id still recommend it if you can find it on sale. But it is not HiFi. The bass is good but it leaves you a bit wanting. Once it is loud it sounds like it is kinda chewing with its mouth full. Its not muffled per say but clarity on the high end could be better while the bass is thumping.

Hi there SolusNerdus, thanks for choosing our Google Nest products. It's awesome to hear that you liked the build quality and that you had an easy time setting up your Nest Audio.

We understand that each person will have their own preference when it comes to sound quality. To improve your audio experience, we recommend adjusting the treble and bass settings by following the steps below:
      - Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Nest Audio.
      - Open the Google Home app.
      - Tap the device you want to adjust > and then Settings > and then Audio and then Equalizer.
      - Adjust Bass and Treble level.

We value your experience with our products, and if you need additional help with any of the features of your Nest Audio and other Google Nest devices, you're more than welcome to contact us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Purchased the speaker primarily to use in my bedroom with my iPad. The sound was so good looks lie I will need to purchase a 2nd speaker to acquire a balanced sound. Which you can't get when the nest is paired with a Google Mini. One review called it the sweet spot between price and quality! Exactly right in my view.

We purchased 2 of these to add to our Google Home Network. We have these in our living room. You can pair them together as stereo speakers however we have ours placed in two different locations. Pros: - Sleek appearance - Solid feel - Easy to use controls - Nice sound Cons: - Had to exchange one that kept dropping from Wifi network even after factory reset. We mainly use them for full house music listening but, also utilize the mics for Home commands! You can turn the mic on or off on the devices as well as pause the music or increase/decrease the volumes all on the device which is nice. They pair rather effortlessly with the intuitive setup process in the Home app but it could be a little more streamlined. We had to exchange one as it kept dropping from the wifi network. Thankfully this happened during the extended holiday return period! These aren't a must have but if you enjoy music and use voice commands a lot for your Google Home network it is a great addition!

Decent sound quality and loudness for the size. I was looking for a speaker that was a little more powerful than the mini speaker for music and this fit the bill. I'm sure there are better speakers out there but at the price and with Google home operability it was an easy choice for me.

The speakers by themselves are an outstanding product. I was mostly surprised by the sheer weight. They feel very high quality, they look excellent and the sound quality is great. They outperform in all of the advertised areas and integrate very well in my Google smart home. My only complaint is that I purchased two of these to use as a speaker pair for an older common area tv that I use the latest Chromecast with Google TV on. I read an article somewhere that Google was working on a direct integration between these speakers and the Chromecast that would allow them to be used as the default audio device and eliminate audio delay. Unfortunately, this hasn't happened yet and it seems the articles were based on unreleased promotional material. As it stands now, I can Bluetooth pair the speakers to the Chromecast but the audio delay with video makes them unusable for this purpose. My fault for expecting unreleased features from Google but this would really be a nice feature to have and I'm not alone in this request.

I have this as a way to listen to music in the bedroom, although I have a better system for my serious music listening in another part of the house. This is a physically solid, well-designed speaker, and can give pretty good sound for its price range. It has been a useful way to play music and podcasts in room I've placed it in. I wish it had an aux in, though, because it would be nice to be able to still use it during an internet outage.

Google Nest Audio: Great Sound, Smart Value

As a customer, I’ve been using the Google Nest Audio for a few weeks now, and it’s honestly impressive for its price. The sound quality is rich and well-balanced, with clear vocals and decent bass—way better than the older Google Home. It’s perfect for medium-sized rooms, though bass lovers might want more oomph. The design is sleek and minimalist, blending nicely with any decor. Google Assistant responds quickly and accurately, even with background noise. I use it daily for music, reminders, and smart home control, and it rarely fails. One downside: there’s no aux input or Bluetooth out, which limits flexibility. But for a $99 smart speaker (often on sale for less), it delivers great value, especially if you’re already in the Google ecosystem.

I like the form and function of this device. It connects to my other Google Nest devices seamlessly. I did have initial struggles setting it up, but that has more to do with the complexity of Google and legacy Nest products in my home on different networks. I bought this because it looks like a high-quality speaker. I use it in a room about the size of 15x15 with high ceilings. It's adequate for that purpose. For the quality of audio I receive, I think it's worth the discounted price point. I don't think I'd buy more than 1 of these, but I'm satisfied that it integrates with my other devices, I can control it with my phone app, and the voice controls work well. I primarily use it to play children's music and it sounds great for play time. I've played other music genres, but it would make me want to go to my stereo for high-quality audio.

Works and sounds great. Use it almost everyday. Only reason for less than 5 stars is that it's not super easy to connect. The other issue, mostly my own for not researching better, is that I can't just connect via Bluetooth. Brought it camping thinking we could chill with some good music and could only chill... No music.

Nest Audio has a much better design than the 1st gen Google Home speakers to go along with a solid Audio quality. It picks up the commands well and executes them as you expect any Google Assistant to. It has a decent volume range.

Went through a period where I had trouble getting it to stay connected to the internet, but I think that was more problems with my wifi than the speaker. I love the sound quality on this and being able to sync it up with other Nest speakers in the household makes playing music with surround sound next level.
