Nice smooth ride
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not ridden a very long distance but so far so good. It does all as described, smooth ride and easy to control, the only thing to keep in mind is after sustain the speed pushing the throttle, it gets into cruise mode and if you forgets can cause a crash.

IMO Best scooter on the market!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This G6 scooter is a very showy scooter with all the lights built in. The blue pulsing light on the side of the scooter looks amazing at night. You can feel the power in the motor from going uphill. I had a one month old segway F30 which was a reputable scooter but it broke within a month of use. This scooter is a comparable to the segway F30 because they are the same price. You get a longer battery life, higher speed, and honestly its just so much better with the built in lock! I would recommend this scooter to anybody that needs a solid built first scooter.

Tons of fun, but frequent errors
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all this scooter is a ton of fun; however, it is not reliable. We purchased 3 of the GoTrax G6 scooters to keep at the beach house. We are within 4 miles of all sorts of entertainment, ice cream shops, restaurants, etc. All 3 of our GoTrax G6 scooters overheat on almost every ride over 2 miles. The error we receive on the dash is E9 and the scooter shuts down and you have to pull over, wait, and restart it. 95% of the time it turns on and is ready to go very quickly, but still a hassle to stop and wait. This error seems to be more frequent for riders over 180 pounds, climbing hills of any kind, or riding on 85F or warmer days. One scooter gives us an E1 (in addition to the frequent E9 errors mentioned above) error on occasion and this error usually stops you on the side of the bike path for 5-10 minutes as you hope and pray it will get you home. One of our 3 scooters has given an E0 error since the first time we took it out of the box. All it says is E0 on the screen, it has never displayed the speed as you ride and it frequently turns off as if the battery is dead, but it is fully charged. I spoke to GoTrax support and the parts that require replacement are out of stock. In summary, we thoroughly enjoy these scooters when they work properly. All of the errors we receive are a hassle, but have never left us stranded. Keep in mind we only use these for fun riding with no need to arrive at our destination at a certain time. I would never use these to “commute” since it is highly probable that you would be late for work everyday.

BEWARE THE FLAT TIRE!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid scooter that runs fantastic, but the tires are literally impossible to change without professional tools. It's not that I can't get the new tire on, I can't even get the old tire off! Kick scooters are not commonly repaired at bike shops or mechanics, so you may want to double check that you have somewhere to take it when you inevitability get that first flat. Other than the tire, ive had no issues.

Vroom! This thing is zippy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow am I impressed! I will start out by saying that this is my first Electric Scooter, so take my feedback with a grain of salt. The GoTrax Commuter G6 is a very solid and fun ride. This thing has some weight to it which shows through it durability, stability and functioning limits. 264 max weight capacity. Definitely built to hold up larger sized adults. And up to 48 mile max range. Keep in mind weight and bills can play a factor on that range but from my testing, I can vouch for a solid long lasting ride. Although I didn’t let the battery completely drain, the last battery bar begins to blink when you are about to run out of juice. We out in 37 mile between the kids and I. Yes the kids are lighter which will help with the range, but I also gave my younger daughter a ride with me and together we weigh about 235, so yes , riding range in a full charge is definitely as advertised. When the unit got to the lower end of three bars going into two, I noticed that I could no longer get the scooter up to 20 mph, but still holding onto 18-19 mph until 1 blinking bar is not too shabby. The G6 has dual disc brakes which makes a little noise when in use. Other than that the scooter runs pretty quiet. Break lights, front light for dark rides, side panel lights all add to the safety features. Because this scooter can go the distance, it awesome that cruise control kicks in after 10 seconds for maintaining a speed. Speaking of speed, there are three gear options. The firs gear in my mind is pretty much useless. Says it goes up to 3 mph, but when you have it maxed out, I feel it is just a balancing act. Love the fact the the gears have max speeds. So starting off, my daughter didn’t feel comfortable with going full speed and keeping the gear in second maxes out the top speed of 15 mph. When she was ready, which didn’t take long, the 3rd gear gets you going 20 mph. Very nice feature to give different level of comfort levels max speeds and not have to worry about controlling the throttle. In one week, my family has easily put in over 60 miles. This is a fun ride and great for older kids to adults. I say older kids because there is no size adjustment. Not meant for kids under 13 however I think there is a couple years of play around that depending on the kid size and maturity. Double the security with a digital lock on the console as well as physical combination lock that is built in. Now for a few flaws. The console is not intuitive. There is in my one button, all of the controls are from number of presses. So if you can keep track of all of those it’s fine, but as a new user it is confusing. The console display gets tough to read in the bright daylight, probably not out of the norm but annoying. There is a odometer that keeps track of your current ride. There is no resetting. You can see total odometer reading when powered on, but you can’t toggle. Here is a big warning. When plugging in the console, be very careful. The port from the base unit happened to be bent out of shape and didn’t have a smooth fit int the console cable. The pins in the port are very small and I ended up bedding one when plugging the wires together. This caused a connection error. So if they could make a better connection between the base and the port, that would be ideal to avoid this type of mishap. Another complaint is the spec sheet. There is conflicting information on Best Buy’s website, the manufacturing website to what is listed in the box and user guide. Not sure how they can be so much mismatch. Even for the manufacturer website not matching the product box is a bit odd. For example the website advertises up to 48 mile max range but when I received the item, the box and user guide both say up to 32 miles max range. Fortunately my test proves it to be closer to the website information. Would really be disappointed if they advertise 48 and you only get 32 miles max range. Overall, very happy with this unit. It is a fun ride and would definitely recommend for its durability and battery life.

Kept breaking down
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works but does not meet range. Said I cojld go 48 miles on the website, on the box it says 32, and only made it about 18 before it died and I had to walk it home over the state line. I kept getting an error code "E9" on the display and the scooter would shut down. It shut down when I was crossing the road which is very dangerous. For $800, I expect better. Overall quality of the scooter is outstanding. Very well built, just needs to be more reliable.

Fast, Solid Feel, Two Layers of Security
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned quite a few entry-level scooters and have been yearning for more speed, since most top out at 15.5mph. The Gotrax G6 claims to go up to 20mph, so naturally I was excited for its arrival. Setup is very easy since it just requires installing the 4 hex screws, inflating the tires, and charging the battery. The instructions for changing the password were not clearly written, but I was able to figure it out. It was nice to be able to switch the password mode off and just use the built in cable lock instead. (To clarify the password directions: First turn the scooter on, enter the default password 000, then hit the power button 4 times, change the password, and then hit the power button 2 times to save. To turn the password mode off, turn the scooter on, enter the password, and then hit the power button 6 times quickly. To turn the power mode back on, hit the power button 6 times again). Riding the scooter was amazing. The powerful 500w motor got the G6 to 20 mph within a few seconds without spinning out like many front wheels drive scooters. I confirmed the accuracy of the speed using an app. The scooter has cruise control, which activated after staying at the same speed for 10 seconds. The ride was cushioned with the front shock absorber, but still felt a little stiff to drive. During the early morning or late evening, the display was easy to read. However, I had a hard time seeing the display during full sun. I also tried riding at night and found the added blueish-purple lights under the deck aided in visibility, but the headlight only casted a lit path for about 20 to 25 feet. I was not able to drive the full speed at night since I had a hard time seeing obstacles ahead. Pros Quick acceleration Solid build Rear tire power Front and back brakes Cons Stiff ride Headlight doesn’t project far enough for 20mph Hard to read display during the day Overall, I was impressed with the Gotrax G6 scooter and it should be on the top of anyone’s list for a sub-$1000 scooter.

Awesome scooter!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoTrax G6… The TLDR: if you want an awesome scooter, go for this one :) Onto the meat of the review, this scooter requires a bit of assembly when taking out of the box. Following the instructions is pretty straightforward and powering it up for the first time it had around 40% charge. I didn’t charge it to 100% at first and began riding it around for a bit out of sheer excitement. Out of the blocks, I noticed how smooth this was compared to my Segway Ninebot ES4. This is due to the size of the 9” pneumatic tires and front fork suspension! Going over bumps and rocks/pebbles, you hardly feel it. The travel in the suspension is pretty good and makes for a very comfy ride. The brakes on this are awesome as it’s a dual disc brake system. This makes for a very smooth and efficient ride when coming to a halt. Unlike my ES4, the G6 has brake levers on both handles like you’d find on bicycles, which allows for a gradual braking. Pretty awesome considering if you don’t want to fly off the scooter :P Like my ES4, there are three modes in terms of speed. I find that the lowest and middle modes to be more for casual strolls, wherein the top speed you’ll hit is ~14mph. The highest mode allows you to get up to ~20mph, and this varies depending on the gradient (surface slope) which you are riding on. During my first week riding this, i got around 35 miles before getting to the last bar. The range is quite good and definitely beats my ES4 which comes in around 20 miles. The addition of reflectors, brake light and front light allow for peace of mind when riding in low light scenarios (early morning or late nights). Being visible to others is a must have safety feature, and I think GoTrax definitely nailed it with this iteration. Another awesome safety feature is the physical combo lock which sits above the collapsible fork suspension and the console lock :) Makes deviant people think twice before attempting to ride off with your scooter! Overall, I would highly recommend this scooter. If you’re able to find it on sale, I would say look no further as this is the one to get!

Sturdy, Fast and FUN!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a very fun scooter, it's my first time owning one and riding one. The assembly was extremely simple, (4) screws and mounting the handle bars and you are ready to go. The battery came pre-charged and the brake lines were already installed and it didn't need any adjusting. There are 3 speed modes depending on how fast you want to go. There is a built-in combination lock chain along with a passcode when turning it on to deter against theft. The readout panel is very simple, wish it was brighter but it accurately displays the mileage, speed battery life and speed mode. It is very simple to read and alter the length of your ride depending on the battery life left. It has a nifty bike stand and the headlight and tail light is bright enough, simple setup. The actual riding part was very fun albeit it took me a little while to get used to it because if it was my first time. The throttle seems a little loose as far as accurately controlling the speed travelling but the speed mode selected caps your speed so to me that's a safety feature. The brakin was just like braking on a bicycle and luckily my brakes were not too tight and didn't need adjusting. The shocks or suspension system is pretty cool, the bumps are lessened to a degree and it's meant for fun on smooth roads. The standing deck itself is very sturdy, i do wish the rear tail light cover was also metal but it seems to be plastic. It has a very sturdy design and feels like it's an actual scooter. Very fun!

Fun for cruising around the neighborhood!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoTrax G6 electric scooter is a lot of fun to ride on! Personally, I am using the scooter to cruise around my neighborhood. It’s easy to use once you get it set up and it’s a pretty smooth ride on the roads. The accelerator (or throttle) has great resistance so it feels smooth and natural to increase speed. It also comes with a bell already installed which is convenient because this scooter is very quiet. Upon powering up, the default speed setting is 2nd gear (0-15.5 mph). On my first try, I switched it to 1st gear, Pedestrian mode (0-3 mph) which is exactly what it sounds like, it doesn’t go beyond walking speed. 2nd gear is where I like to stay so I’m glad it’s the default. To really get the scooter going, you kick push the scooter for a bit until it registers 1 or 2 mph, then you can get on and push the throttle to ramp up some speed. I’m most comfortable riding steadily around 8-10 mph, and I find that I’m not willing to go over 13 mph, even though the max speed is 20 mph which can be achieved in 3rd gear (0-20 mph). I could have gone with a smaller model that goes up to 15 mph max and been happy as well but I like this scooter nonetheless. The G6 electric scooter features front and rear suspension which I am able to take advantage of when there’s a road reflector to go over or a driveway to go up on. The G6 is a big scooter so the suspension is a must in my opinion. Visibility lighting is another must and this model comes with a headlight, blue strip lighting along the base of the scooter, and a flashing brake light. I like that the battery for this scooter lasts all week, especially when I use it for 10-20 minutes a day. There are a few built-in items like a bell, a wire safety lock with a number combination, and a clip. I have small hands so I really have to reach for the bell. The built-in wire lock is a little tricky to get back into place. In theory it’s nice to have but it’s a thin cable so I’d probably get something sturdier if needed. The box that it ships in is large and secure. There was plenty of cardboard padding throughout so it arrived in mint condition. I appreciate that it comes partially assembled, for example, the brake lines are already in place. The manual isn’t written very well, so some instructions took a while to understand but I was eventually able to adjust the brakes and input the passcode. It took me an hour to unpack everything and assemble the scooter. I got it set up to charge for about 6 hours and came back the next day to turn it on and take it for a spin. The smoother the ground, the better the ride! It’s so much fun to zip around on. The fact that it’s electric really makes it so I get the most out of my time outdoors. I can reach more distance in the same time I’d be walking so the scooter has really expanded my routes and scenery. Overall, it’s a very fun scooter and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a scooter of this size and speed.

Awesome Features - Overheats on hilly commute
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scooter is Zippy! It was not too difficult to assemble the handle bar section when it’s out of the box. I was in the market for a scooter for my commute to work. I would have originally gone with an electric bike but they are weirdly bulky and they are not designed to be bus bike-rack friendly. A scooter seemed like the best option for my situation. I like that it has a front headlight, lights underneath the body, and even a break light on the back end. It has a pedestrian mode to walk with the support of the motor, and a sport mode that allows you to reach up to 20mph. Since i can park it indoors i havnt really familiarized myself the security system situation. (I wish there were an option to disable the start up lock?) but it seems secure enough to deter theft :) My biggest issue is the overheating. I would recommend some other alternative if you live in an area with lots of hills and have to travel longer distances. At $800 i would have expected it to have something to help with cooling but i don’t believe it does. The distance you can travel from a single charge sounds great but I dont think would ever be able to reach 48 miles under my conditions. - i weight 220 pounds - Washington state is naturally very hilly - the distance i travel during each ride (~8miles) So far the farthest ive gone is 20 miles on a single charge with 2 charged “bars” (1/4 charge i think?) left from being fully charged. Im pushing this scooter to its limits. So take this review as just a unique experience and not a generalization for this scooter.
