Hidden gem.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great purchase, i got the 75 inch and for the price its a steal. The brightness and black levels are very very good. The sound is so good that if you have it in a smaller living room or bedroom you will not need a soundbar. If i was going to puck at anything it would maybe be the processing may not be as good as say a Sony but really I'm nit-picking because you really have to be trying to find flaws with this tv, in my opinion its a hidden gem and i would highly recommend it.

Great picture, but some issues with sound
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Impressive TV .. picture quality and brightness is great. Some problems with the sound. Sometimes gets out of sync with picture. Only fix is to reboot the TV. Doesn't work great with sound bar since TV speakers won't disable.

Astonishing Blacks & Vibrant Colors, Extreme Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s hard to put into words how amazing this TV is. Its picture is absolutely stunning. Blacks are very close to OLED levels. Colors are vibrant and close to accurate out of the box. And total brightness levels are off the chart. I’ve had two previous Hisense models. So far, Hisense has delivered good quality TVs for affordable prices. However, with this model, Hisense has created an exceptional TV that far surpasses many of the main television brands, and for half the price. It’s truly that good. What makes the TVs picture quality better than most LED TVs out today is its black levels. Blacks are truly black, meaning black areas on the screen are deep without a hint of blooming from lighter images on the screen. This is accomplished by 528 local dimming zones. My 2021 Hisense TV (65U7G) only had 90 dimming zones and that TV created a great picture. This TV is on a whole other level and is made for cinematic movie enthusiasts. Coupled with a peak brightness of 1500 plus nits, the colors, HDR especially, are vibrant and sharp. In fact, the image is so bright on this television, I find myself enabling the built-in automatic light sensor in order to tame the brightness of the backlight. I do this because I love to watch movies in rooms with very little light. Without lowing the backlight, it’s almost too bright for my eyes. However, if you use this TV in a very bright room, this TV is designed for this type of environment. And one more important note about this model. ALL screen sizes use a VA (vertical alignment) panel, including the 75 inch model. This has been confirmed by Hisense’s engineers themselves. Unfortunately, there has been some confusion even within Hisense’s customer service and marketing departments, and wrong information has been disseminated regarding the panel type. But Hisense’s upper management and engineers confirmed that all three sizes of the U8H models released in USA have VA panels. And after seeing the contrast and black level achieved on my 75” model, there is no way this is an IPS (in-plane switching) panel. Regarding sound options, I’m extremely happy with the features on this model. The built-in 20 watt subwoofer creates a sound that is rich as well as deep. I however, connect my TV to my audio receiver. And it’s here that I’m extremely satisfied with the technology included on this television. Because it uses the latest eARC (enhance audio return channel) standard, it’s capable of sending a Dolby Atmos signal to my receiver. This feature has worked from the start and the signal has been reliable within many different apps (Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.). Other technology built into this TV that is very useful is its gaming features. Because the unit comes with the HDMI 2.1 standard, I’m able to take advantage of the screen’s 120Hz refresh rate for gaming. The TV recognizes when a gaming console or computer is connected and automatically switches itself to gaming mode, which also includes Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), AMD’s Freesync Premium Pro technology, and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). The later keeps the input lag to a minimum. To enable these features, the Enhanced HDMI setting needs to be turned on in the menu settings. It also helps that this TV uses the latest wireless standard, 802.11 AX, or otherwise known as Wi-Fi 6. If you own a router that supports Wi-Fi 6, then gaming and streaming 4K HDR content is extremely fast. However, even without the latest standard, the TV is fully capable of streaming content using the AC standard (Wi-Fi 5). I tested the TV using two different routers with the different standards, and buffering was never an issue. Not everything with this TV is perfect. Spec-wise, it’s limited to 8-bit color. It uses a technology called frame Rate Control (FRC) to simulate 10-bit color, and this limitation may be a concern to PC gamers. It’s really hard to tell the difference in color when watching TV, namely because FRC is doing its job. However, if a PC gamer is set on configuring their PC to output a game in 10-bit color, they will be limited to 8-bit. This is not a simple task to begin with, especially in Windows. So, I suspect this issue will affect a small number of users. As with any TV, the larger it is, the heavier it gets. The 75” model weighs about 82 pounds. I like to setup my TVs on a pedestal stand with swivel capabilities. I definitely had to purchase a larger and stronger stand. The footprint of the stand’s base needed to be large enough to prevent tipping. And because this TV is heavy, I needed to find a pedestal rated for 100 pounds. If you can’t tell already, I am a big fan of this TV. The picture quality is truly remarkable. I was hesitant going with the larger 75-inch model, but I’m so glad I did. Even at 12 feet away, the larger screen size was not overwhelming. Simple put, everything continued to look amazing, even with the larger screen size. Again, it’s amazing how good this TV is, especially at this price point. It’s starting to make less sense to pay a premium to other brands when a TV this good is available at half the price.

4.5 stars- great TV! No regrets!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a great TV. Would give 4.5 stars if I could! Only problem is with darker scenes there are sometimes when the picture is pixelated or weird looking. Also, if a reflection of a light is on the screen it has kind of a rainbow effect when the screen is darker or the TV is off. Paired with Roku soundbar and we love it!!! No major complaints and we’ve had it almost a year now. If you thinking about it….buy it! Great TV for the price and size!

Cost way less than oled but looks just as good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st I’m just going to say that if you are looking for a good affordable 75 inch 4Ktv with beautiful picture quality. Just buy this tv and I promise you this Hisense mini led will blow you away. I am so serious. It is amazing how fast technology moves, because everyone wants an oled but not everyone can afford them(myself as included) or just can’t justify the price premium. Now with this tv you get every $ you spend and you don’t feel buyers remorse. Color Saturation if great, brightness is amazing(too bright) sometimes too but that’s not a bad thing. Good viewing angles and super deep blacks with minimal blooming with local dimming zones at that. Dolby vision content is amazing and so is HDR10 as well on the ps5 and through apps! I literally replaced my 4K projector in my room with a 120 inch screen for this 75 inch. It’s noticeably smaller but the picture quality and brightness makes up for the size difference. Gaming is amazing as well. Very low input lag and fast response time with a 4K 120hrtz refresh rate works very well paired to my ps5. Google tv is great too. I had android tv before and it’s kinda of the same only better smoother and more refined. Super snappy OS. Plenty of apps to choose from. Remote is basic but gets the job done. Sound has been touted as amazing for a tv. But to me it sound ok as far as volume and bass goes. But it still sounds a bit tinny at times. Not bad by any means. But I still recommend any soundbar to be honest. Even a basic one will work better. EARC works great for Dolby atmos, which I have a nice Dolby atmos set up and I’m very happy with it. This tv only has 2 4K 120 hdmi and 2 4K 60. Which other brands have 4 4K 120 ports. But I only run a ps5. So no big deal. This tv like many more recent Hisense tvs have the option to place the stands closer together or further apart to accommodate smaller(ish) tv stands. I really appreciate that. As I had to by a completely new tv stand for my Sony I just recently bought. That tv had almost a 60 inch leg to leg base. Crazy I know. Lol. But anyhow. If you want the best bang for you buck. Buy this tv as the picture quality really and truly is near oled levels. See my pictures below for examples. Especially the low light scenes. Pay attention to the black levels. Amazing value. And I’m truly in love. I spend a lot of time either watching movies/tv shows with my wife and kids or playing the ps5. This makes everyone happy.

The perfect TV for next-gen consoles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is going to be a game changer in the TV industry. This TV looks better than some high end, name brand, TVs that cost 2 – 3 times as much. I was somewhat skeptical, initially, looking at some of the preview information on this particular TV. That being said, this TV exceeded my expectations. I’m comfortable with the size I chose because I’ve had several 75” screens in this particular location. It fits great. Eventually I will wall mount it and I think it will look wonderful with the nonexistent bezel. The screen itself is amazing. Hisense did a phenomenal job designing this TV. The input panel is easily accessible on the left-hand side of the TV while the power cable is also easily accessible and removable on the right-hand side of the TV. This makes accessing the HDMI inputs very easy and convenient if you do indeed want to wall mount the TV. The amount of HDMI ports for me is perfect. There are a total of four. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs, which can support 4k at 120Hz and two that can support 4k at 60Hz. This is adequate for me as all I have is my sound bar and gaming console. The TV also includes variable leg placement in a narrow or wide configuration to give you options based on the width of the TV stand or table you are placing this large TV on. The legs also contain a cable management clip for easily hiding the cables you are plugging in making for a clean and neat setup. Setup was pretty straight forward and simple. The interface is Google which I am already familiar with so there wasn’t much of a learning curve from an interface perspective although I don’t think Google has the most intuitive interface. The setup process is step by step and easy to follow. I also wanted to point out that I was worried about my sound bar covering the IR sensor, which it does, but it doesn’t impact the functionality of the remote. Once you pair the remote during the setup process, I experienced no issues with remote functionality. I was very excited to see the potential of this TV so right after the basic Google setup, I went straight in to downloading my streaming applications and setting up my Xbox Series X. This TV pairs perfectly with the next-gen gaming consoles. I personally have an Xbox Series X and this TV meets all of the requirements for the Xbox. Gaming is absolutely stunning on this TV and completely changed the look and feel of my Series X console. You will need to enable the HDMI Enhanced mode to take advantage of all the features. This took me a while to find as I did not find it readily accessible from the Picture settings menu. I will save you some time, the quick settings menu on the remote (the bottom right underneath the volume down button with the three lines) will take you to the location of this particular setting. Once enabled, you can enjoy all the features this TV has to offer for gaming consoles. I also prefer to run the Game mode picture setting while gaming. For all the technical folks out there, this TV does have Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Freesync, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and 4k UHD at 120Hz. I have to compliment Hisense for incorporating the GameZone settings quick menu which gives you the ability to adjust the white and black levels while in-game as well as toggle FreeSync and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). With the gorgeous high contrast and high brightness of this TV the picture quality while gaming is absolutely stunning. I typically only watch 4k HDR content but every now and then I will put on something in 1080p. This TV absolutely does not disappoint when watching 4k HDR/non-HDR content. Dolby Vision is beautiful. The whites are white and the blacks are black. The contrast and brightness of this TV are amazing. I was blown away. I typically utilize the HDR-Theatre mode or if I’m watching non HDR content, Theatre day or Theatre night are the picture modes I prefer. The picture I took for this review doesn’t do this TV any justice. If you are thinking about purchasing a mini-LED or OLED TV, I would go see if Best Buy has this TV on display so you can see how amazing the picture is. Also, if you are looking for a high-end TV to compliment your next-gen console, this TV is the perfect choice. I would highly recommend this TV.

Absolutely amazing and gigantic 4k TV
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense - 75" Class U8 Series Quantum Google TV, model number 75U8H is an amazing 4K TV that is just absolutely gigantic. Featuring mini-LED technology that allows the Hisense TV to bring contrast close to an OLED TV while maintaining the advantages of a traditional LED TV. There is no worry of burn in on this TV if you use it for static images such as computer background or for displaying images for your business or home. The fact that this TV is comparable to an OLED TV is just absolutely amazing and the color and contrast on this TV are really great. The brightness is something else as well, I was watching a 4K HDR movie and the bright scenes were able to light up my entire living room and you don't lose any of the contrast or clarity regardless if the scene is bright or dark as you would with more traditional LED TVs. The built-in Google TV with Google Assistant works beautifully and provides a great dashboard for all of your content and applications, it shows recently viewed content from any of the installed applications as well as showing suggestions based off of your viewing history. I suggest updating your system when you receive the TV as there appears to be a pretty significant upgrade that was provided compared to the software that was installed coming from the factory. After installing the update I was able to add a second account for my wife and that way each of our content could be separated and we would each receive viewing suggestions based on our own shows rather than seeing a mixup of all of our content combined. With the update when turning on the TV you are presented with a user selection screen and can then see recently viewed and suggested content per user, the only thing that I wish they would add would be the ability to customize the shown applications on a per user basis as currently both users see the same application bar and I would like to have it separated so that I could have my preferred apps listed first and the same for my wife. Otherwise the software is extremely great, it's very responsive and I am glad that Hisense chose to add Google TV as it is a great piece of software when paired with good hardware and in this case Hisense made sure to add great hardware so that the Google TV could shine. I wouldn't mind having Apple TV included as well and I am not sure if there is another version that has that installed instead of Google TV, but since my household uses both Google and Apple products I would like the ability to switch between either as needed, but that is just a personal preference. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 as well as the inclusion of AMD's FreeSync technology make this a great choice for gamers as well. With 4K 120Hz variable refresh rate this TV is a gaming beast, I would have like to seen the inclusion of a Display Port 1.4 input so that I could more easily connect a computer for gaming as most PCs don't feature an HDMI 2.1 output as most graphics cards manufacturers don't include it by default. There are ways around this and even when using an HDMI 2 output from my computer to this TV the fact that I can still game at 4K 60Hz is amazing and makes for a great experience. Last thing I want to talk about is the sound on this TV, it is surprisingly very good, and for a TV that still manages to be fairly thin and light (for it's size) this is actually surprising to me. Typically when buying a TV nowadays the sound quality is not something I ever worry about as they are almost always very bad and I recommend just buying a surround system or at the very least a sound bar, but in this instance I was very impressed with the sound quality of the Hisense TV. With Dolby Atmos sound and a built in subwoofer on the back the sound quality is actually really good and I haven't felt the need to add a sound bar or surround system for my smaller apartment. Now obviously it's not going to compare to a full surround system for immersion, but it is also extremely usable for all content without having to constantly change the volume because speaking parts are too quiet and actions parts are too loud, I am able to set the volume to a good listening volume and don't have to change it as it sounds good regardless of what is going on.

Can a TV bee too bright?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all - it's a BIG TV! It came on a double length pallet and it really takes 2 people to move the box around. Screen diagonal is a true 75", no games. Once you manage to get it out of the box - make sure you have a wide enough space to put it (even though legs could be installed a little bit closer or wider - 50" or 40" between the legs). Legs do provide a clip for cable management so you can have your interconnects out of the view. TV can be wall mounted, keep in mind that power connector is all the way to the right and HDMI connectors (4 of them - 2 HDMI 2.1 and 2 HDMI 2.0) all the way on the left side. Image - wow, it's just stunning! This TV is not an OLED but image it produces does look like one! No parasitic light on dark areas of the image, no artifacts at all. First thing I've done is I went to YouTube and searched for 4k HDR and Dolby Vision demo videos - gosh, it's really mesmerizing! Note that TV comes pre-set to some "Energy Saving" mode - take it out of it, I would recommend setting FILM MAKER mode to begin with - it really does improve picture! Speaking of brightness.. If you have a room that is always brightly lit - this is a TV for it - it can achieve remarkable 1500nits (and some tests show upwards of 2000nits) screen brightness and still maintain fantastic picture quality! Overall - if you need a really bright TV but not ready for an OLED expense - get this TV! No matter if it's a family room, media or a game room - this TV would handle movies and games alike! It even has a little subwoofer on the back for a better sound (it does sound pretty decent, but external speakers or soundbar are still recommended).

Top-Notch Video Quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV provides top-notch video and audio quality. It is a full-array. micro led display so it provides near OLED black levels. The brightness exceeds OLED panels and thus creates a super high contrast picture. This TV is great for bright rooms because it can overpower glare like nothing else on the market. I am using it with an Apple TV 4K and the picture quality has to be seen to be believed. The audio quality is excellent due to the built in 20 watt subwoofer. The 75 inch size actually helps create more stereo separation from right to left. I absolutely love this TV! The picture quality exceeds many much more expensive TV from better know brands.

Best pound for pound TV in 2022
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been crazy surprised from the quality of this TV. I purchased the 75 inch and it has exceeded all my expectations. First, the brightness is unreal. The TV is situated in a very bright room and it combats any glare coming from any window or light source. Second, the local dimming is quite astonishing and there is little to no blooming on normal content. It’s so bright it hurt my eyes when watching in the dark and had to turn it down a few notches. I was torn between this an an open box C2 OLED for almost 50 percent more and I’m glad I picked this one. While the blacks don’t get as crazy dark like an OLED it’s really good. It does require some setting tinkering to get the colors nit picky perfect but overall it comes pretty good out of the box and my family didn’t notice anything after I adjusted the hyper specific calibration settings from the YouTuber “Stop the Fomo.” I was originally concerned about the viewing angles vs the OLED or other LG tvs out there but the TVs brightness is so good I didn’t notice any major issue from the wide seating area we have. The colors are really vivid and as you get the quantum bits and after running a ton of hdr YouTube content when I first got it I have to say the color is really impressive. I knew very little about all the test people run on TVs but after spending hours reviewing websites and YouTube content I have to say the TV passed all the weird dirty screen test and blooming ball test I watched all the reviewers typically run. I’m still in the break in period so I will update if anything changes. I had an ARC Sony soundbar on my previous TV setup but the built in speakers were so good I ended up removing it and putting it on another TV in the house. It has a mini sub built in the back which puts out really good sound. Like really good and loud. Since I saved so much vs the other TVs I may buy higher end soundbar down the road that has atmos for watching movies. Someone else in the BB reviews also pointed out that the nextgen sound is off by a second or two which I noticed as well but it recently corrected itself and I haven’t noticed since I updated the firmware. There is no 4k content anyways so I’ll let y’all know if the Super Bowls sound is off. I pretty much got this for sports content and while it’s not a clean as some of the Sonys and jitters do show up infrequently, the price for quality more than makes up for the few times I have noticed. Like maybe two or three times a football game. I don’t game on this TV so I can’t speak to that aspect. In conclusion, you get the best bang for your buck on almost everything I’ve thrown at it. While you do have to tinker with a few settings out the box it should take no more than 10 minutes after watching a few YT videos. I hope with more firmware updates these setting will get easier to apply to all the modes but I personally don’t mind saving like a grand and I enjoy the setting up process.

The good, the bad, and the ugly.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's start with the good! The value of this tv is simply great, the picture quality for movies is gorgeous. The tv is extremely bright so in movies where there are certain highlights like fires and effects and so on it will pop out and blow you away! Now let's talk about the opposite of brightness, The black levels are also great the tv gets inky black when needed and the blooming in movies is something I'm yet to notice albeit with subtitles you might notice some blooming, overall for movies and shows this tv will blow you away! Lastly sound, the sound on this tv is very good for a tv you will be able to hear dialog well and the subwoofer is punchy so if you have this tv in a small room it will pack a punch and you will enjoy it out of the box although I do always recommend some sort of sound system whether it's a soundbar or av receiver with speakers. Now let's get to the bad part of this tv, posterization!!! The posterization on this tv is horrible and disappointing to the level where I'm considering returning the tv, in movies and shows no matter how high quality of a movie you are playing you will have posterization and banding issues mostly in darker scenes but it's nowhere near as bad as in gaming! If you game and want the best quality picture I simply cannot recommend this tv, if you turn on any game features it will come with a compromise, you want 120hz like it says this tv supports? Say goodbye to the 4k resolution because the tv will drop the resolution. You want low latency? Say goodbye to the peak brightness and highlights because the tv will get dimmer automatically. You want to enjoy a beautiful game with beautiful graphics? Say goodbye to that also thanks to the terrible posterization and banding. Simply put any game feature will come with a big compromise and to top it off no matter what I try the tv just does not look as good as when you're using it for movies with the built in apps. For gaming I just cannot recommend this tv, the compromises are just too much to a level where I'm very likely to send this tv back. But on the other hand for movies, this tv will blow you away, if it wasn't for the posterization and banding problems I would have been able to look past the gaming features and this would've been the perfect tv but with those issues existing this tv is a bad tv for gaming, but a beautiful tv for movies that had the potential to be great.

Great TV. Best bang for buck.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally got the 75" I have been trying to order since October! I did have one delivered but had a broken screen. I've tried the LG C2, Samsung QN95B, TCL R655, and a Vizio. All of them had an issue that really was a deal breaker besides being at least $800 more. The Hisense picture holds its own against all of these. Almost as bright as the Samsung but it has Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. The U8H is amazingly bright and enough to overcome windows in a bright room. Not nearly as reflective as the LG. In Filmmaker mode with some changes in settings it is amazingly accurate. I've had one annoying issue that I haven't reported to HiSense. When I get up the screen goes black and shows buffering for a few seconds. I've tried turning off Alexa and Google Assistant and it seems to help. I have all the auto picture settings off so it isn't a light sensor. Weird and nobody else reports it.

Bright tv content pips with deep vlacks, very small blooming on some content, color is vibrant, dolby vision looks great, and controller is small which i like. The settings are simple and easy to adjust unlike my LG C1, and this one is just overall better than that tv in my opinion, at least for everyday tv/movie watching use. Other tv brands offer a few more features but we're really barely improving, this has mini LED, the tv even looks pretty good from the side.
I would recommend this to a friend
