Excellent sound quality and smart speaker functionality. Great bass, but I recommend keeping it turned down for best results. Cranking the bass causes distortion, but keeping it around 0 gives some really nice deep bass. Fills our master bedroom with sound easily.

The Google home Max is fantastic. I placed it in my living room for music when I have parties and it sounds great. I have hue lights around my place as well and being able to control the lights with Google home is the best. When I have movie night I have my Max set up to turn on the popcorn machine, turn on the TV to Netflix and set the lights to react with the TV. All in all, it is fantastic and simple to use for my purposes.

Sounds great. One thing that is irritating is it disconnects from WiFi once in a while and you have to set the system up again. There is no way to play your own music library except through Bluetooth on another device. There should be a way to attach your own music library (maybe on a portable hard drive) and have the unit access it

I can’t believe Google / Nest stopped making these. I guess they got tired of making money. Yes, if you were able to get your hands on a Max before the were discontinued you definitely treasure these jewels of a speaker. Room filling, balanced sound, smart Google functions and if you have multiple Google / Nest speakers in your house, the party is not far behind. Also works great with Aux into you TV. Keep the smart functions while enjoying amazing sound compared to the alarm clock sound your $500 TV comes with.

this smart speaker rocks. great bass sound. of course it wont replace a full size system but it sure can fill any home room with great quality sound.

I had a hard time trying to buy Home Max at the local BestBuy store (not in stock) so I ordered it to be shipped to my house. I do not regret it in any way. Great sound quality and the bass is amazing. I was thinking of other products like Bose or Sonos but I do not regret this purchase.

This speaker is massive. It was bigger and much heavier than I thought it would be. But it offers great sound! I use at as my computer speakers, my default speaker for a google nest screen device and I cast to it with my phone.

The best sound on a Smart Speaker, the bass sounds perfect and then of course the Google assistant can do a lot, definitely recommend this speaker for listening to music my only complaint is the price i am sure it can be better.

The Google home max is both a speaker and an assistant such as Amazon's Alex or Apple's Siri. My opinion of the speaker portion of the product is that it produces excellent sound quality comparable to mid-price speaker. It can be used in mono mode or by adding a second speaker paired to the first it can play stereo. The best part of the Home Max is the assistant part. No more buttons to push. Aside from answering questions (weather, time etc) it can also control what plays. It has built in apps that allow it to play radio stations from anywhere in the US. It can be told to set an alarm for 7am tomorrow; chime in 20 minutes or play music and go to sleep in 10 minutes. It has a large set of voice commands. Technical support from Google is outstanding. I have used their chat support system and they quickly understand my issue/problem and provide a solution. Inputs are WiFi, Bluetooth and wired. you can use your smart phone to "cast" several music services such as Pandora on your iPhone directly via WiFi to the speaker. The Pandora app detects the presence of the Google Home Max and automatically adds a "cast" button on its song page (lower right). From conversations with Google support I learned the firmware is updated so your speaker always has the latest fixes and new features.

Absolutely awesome. We started with Minis, got the home and now the Max. Gets plenty loud and with no distortion. They got this done right. It won't disappoint. Well worth the money.

Excellent speakers with smartness of google assistant. I connected these two max speakers as pair to my tv and it sounds a lot better than my 5.1 home theater setup.

The sound quality, is on par with a Sonos 5, and will easily fill a large room with clear sound.

Had this a little over a month and could not be happier. The sound is great, bass is pretty good for the open area I have. At 80 to 90 % volume it shakes the room. I am thinking about buying another.

The speaker sounds great,the one thing I would say is that it is a bit bigger than I thought, I wasn't expecting it so big, other than that I am very happy with it.

I was already a super-fan of Google Home after owning the original. When I saw they were releasing a "Max" version, I knew I had to get it. I am not disappointed. This thing really rocks the house. It has all the wonderful functionality and usefulness of Google Assistant, packed in to a powerful speaker. I love listening to my music while I cook dinner, and now it sounds awesome. This version is quite a bit larger than the original, but it's really cool how you can place it vertical or horizontal. It is quite a bit more expensive as well, but if you can afford it, it's worth it.

Great speaker is made even better with google home functionality. Sad to see it discontinued, but glad to know that it will still get updates for the foreseeable future.

Excellent speaker!!!! Great sound quality!! I love blasting music with this speaker in my house. Easy to set up and connect to my Google account and smart phone.

I was a bit skeptica as I have a whole Sonos ecosystem but I still have to pick my phone up to control the music on it...solution is this bad boy. Now I can ask Google to play whatever artist, playlist, genre or whatever to play without having to have my phone near me. I love that it plays Spotify with or without a premium account (downside to Sonos) and gives a robust stereo soundstage. Heck you can even Bluetooth to it for those pesky friends that insist on playing their cruddy playlists lol. Overall incredibly impressed as it fills my greatroom with sound so that I don’t have to use my Sonia surround sound setup to obnoxiously play music with it’s weird “5.1” setup.

I grabbed 4 to setup good sound throughout the house when company visits after covid passes. Enjoying nice clear highs and surprising bass

I thought just the one speaker sounded great. This is my second one. I have them paired together. They get really loud and sound awesome.
