I wanted something smaller for travel. Then I found this. It's bigger for easy use, but light enough to carry easily. Performance is what I need and battery life have been good. I like the touchscreen, and the price was right.

I've been a huge fan of the chrome books ever since high school. Really good user interface and pretty easy to use if you're already familiar with most of the Google features and applications and pretty easy to become familiarized with as well. The touch screen is a nice touch (no pun intended) to the chromebooks features. Everything is easy and convenient to download using the google play store and if you have any devices that can pair with the chromebook especially android products, this laptop is the way to go

Excellent chromebook for the price with the option to run Linux. The touchscreen is a big plus. Battery isn't bad at all, despite other comments.
I spent 2 days shopping for my new laptop/chromebook. First time using a chromebook(I never liked the newest version of Windows with the tiles)
VERY VERY HAPPY CAMPER!
I don't remember if this one had alot of reviews talking about problems with connecting to a printer. But I was able to connect 1 time and now having some trouble. Not a big deal, but there's that. Let the people know! I'll look into it after the holidays
Happy shopping !

Purchased 3 years ago for a 3 year old to virtually start school. She loves her laptop and it has been a life saver. It has only now given me a minor issue that I'm sure has a minor solution to fix it. It has survived through the toddler to child stage.

This chromebook has been amazing! And I've given it quite a test trial before writing a review so I could be accurate in my opinion. I have to admit that I'm new to the Chromebook/laptop idea and have a home office so I log MANY hours on my desktop PC. But being able to take my work elsewhere, pay bills electronically while on vacation (which my iPad handles VERY differently via the mobile site and isn't nearly as user-friendly for that purpose), and carry this Chromebook around the house when I want to discuss an email or something with our kids has been priceless! I didn't realize how often I would find myself carrying it up to our bedroom and finishing up projects before falling asleep, so I do wish it had backlit keys but I'll keep that in mind for future purposes...it's definitely not a feature that warrants taking away any stars from my rating as this wasn't advertised as one of the features. I just didn't know how much I would have used it. The battery on this thing is unbelievable! For as often as I use it, it holds a charge for a very long time and I love the touchscreen option. I've mostly gotten used to the touchpad as well (versus having a mouse) and must admit it's very simple to use and has just the right sensitivity. The screen size is perfect for me, I was easily able to find a hard skin to protect it as well as a neoprene case to offer further protection when I'm not using it. Love it!

We purchased the HP Chromebook for our son to do his schoolwork online. It was what he had used in school. He took it out of the box, connected to the internet and began working. Pretty easy! Quality of it is good and can unplug and move to different locations in the house, take on trips. Not too heavy. We purchased the insurance in case it is damaged (dropped, spills liquid in it, etc). It’s touchscreen which is great. We did get a small mouse for him and he can use that as well. Shipping was delayed for 3 days longer than the date they said it would arrive by which was disappointing but understandable. The HP Chromebook should get him through middle school and high school!

No matter what you throw at it. Nothing seems to make it stumble. Audio is amazing!! Can’t believe the sound that comes from the sound bar. Touch screen works flawlessly

These are good affordable Chromebooks, I bought 10 of them for the restaurants at my business. If you are deciding between a Windows machine or a Chromebook, I would just look at your use. For most people they are doing everything online with little need to download programs, That is our use case so being an old school person it was hard for me to move to a mostly cloud based computer but everything we do is online. Point being if you are comparing a comparable price range of Chromebook v Windows you will be a lot more pleased with Chromebook if your use case is email, and web based. As for Chromebook comparison for the money these are solid machines. I like the Lenovo I bought before a little bit more but the model that I bought was no longer available and I am just as pleased with this one. The only feature for the same price that I liked was those folded all the way back to be in like a tablet mode.

This is the best thing I could have ever purchased for my 65+ father. Everything is cloud based, I have a google account that stores his favorites all his stuff is now sycned across devices. I no longer have to worry about him doing anything on Internet exploder or Edge... this thing just works for what he needs. If you have a computer semi literate parent (one who knows how to break every computer they touch) then try this. He literally surfs the web, watches youtube, and listens to music... works with wireless mouse, has a touch screen and battery life lasts for a good while.

This Chromebook was very easy to setup and begin using quickly. Start up is quick and reliable. This Chromebook has 32 GB of storage which is sufficient if you use Google Chrome for most searching. You may want more storage if you choose to download a lot of apps. The Chromebook comes with a webcam and microphone built in. I am enjoying the touchscreen feature on this Chromebook. Great battery life. Quite affordable.
The keyboard does not have backlights as you type. That was clearly stated on the description on Best Buy.

I'm new to Chromebook, so this is coming from a lifetime of Windows. I would say the transition has been pretty painless. I was using Chrome and gmail on my W10 laptop, so that helped the switch.
I was able to set up a Canon D570 laser printer with NO problem - as long as the printer and Cbook are using the same SSID.
HP Chromebook:
1. Funky keyboard layout, which is to say that it has pretty non-standard key spacing. I will be hitting the wrong keys for quite some time I expect.
2. Letters printed on the keys are unnecessarily small. Why so small - especially since the keys are not backlit ?
3. Screen brightness does adjust, but the contrast has no adjustment. Net is that the screen seems somewhat dim/washed out.
4. Screen resolution is not particularly good. Letters are a bit blurry, even after I searched around in the available fonts.
5. Battery life seems to be ridiculously good. Right now it's 90% charged, with 14 hours left !
6. Very light weight. Nice change from the biggies I've been lugging around for years.
7. Great response time.
8. Brought Excel, Word and PDF docs over. (Note: copy into Cbook was about 10 times faster than the copy out from W10 laptop, even using USB 3.0 port.) Was able to open legacy sheets and docs with minimal fuss. Cbook Sheet and Doc programs are relatively primitive - think 40 years ago - but seem to be adequate for basic budgets, letters, etc.. Was able to print everything, including jpeg's.
Conclusion: Simpler is better. I'm not a gamer and I watch movies, etc. either on my tablet or TV.
