Nice monitor that can be a little blurry

Assembly was very easy and took about 5 minutes; including unpacking the box. It does include an HDMI cable. Minimal connections on the back of the monitor. There is a cable holder inside the monitor stand which makes it easy to keep the cables organized. The power cord is a little short so I had to adjust its position on my desk. The size is very nice. And it also has a tilt feature. Unfortunately, the monitor cannot be raised or lowered, just tilted. Maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080 @ 100 Hz. Low blue light technology helps minimize the blue light and is easier on your eyes. The anti-glare is appreciated. I normally wear computer glasses but this monitor really helps reduce eye fatigue. I will still wear my glasses since they work very well. The 100Hz refresh rate is very good. If you are a serious gamer, you will need a much higher refresh rate. The monitor also has onscreen controls. This monitor is nice but sometimes can be a little blurry. I was experimenting with zooming in and out and maximizing vs. minimizing. It actually seemed blurry when more minimized, but not in all situations. I tested with spreadsheets, photos, surfing the internet and a little gaming. It wasn’t consistently blurry in any situation and about 10% of the time. My husband agreed it was blurry occasionally. This is a decent less expensive monitor. I even hooked it up to my laptop to watch a movie and that worked fine. Colors were vivid. A little different than another HP monitor that doesn’t have the low blue light technology. You wouldn’t notice if you didn’t have them side by side.

Big Monitor with great colors for everyday tasks

The HP Series 5 532sf FHD Monitor is a large monitor that is good for multitasking and enjoying movies. The first impression when I opened the box is the size of the screen; at 31.5 inches, it has ample screen real estate with a sleek design and thin bezel that offer a modern look complementing any workspace. It connects through VGA or through two HDMI ports. It only takes a handful of minutes to put it together; just attach the stand to the back of the monitor and no tools are required. The stand is very basic and only offers tilt adjustments and cannot be adjusted for height and cannot swivel either. The bottom left of the monitor has the power buttons and four additional setting buttons. It can get a bit complicated to maneuver through the settings with those buttons. Thankfully, the HP Display Center app from the Microsoft store makes the process much simpler plus it gives you access to many options to customize it to your liking. Once connected and turned on, it is an easy to use monitor. As expected from a VA panel monitor, the colors are vibrant with great contrast. The Full HD (1920x1080) resolution is good enough for everyday use. Personally, because of the size, I would prefer a higher resolution for sharper visuals. I do video and photo editing as a hobby, and this monitor would not be my favorite because of the resolution limitations. However, it’s a great monitor to watch movies, surf the web and do basic work such as emailing and preparing reports; it has beautiful colors that you can customize with the adjustable contrast, color and black levels. Also, the refresh rate rate can be adjusted up to 100 Hz which is perfect for movies, smoother scrolling and playing light games. Another option I like is the HP Eye Ease that filters out blue light thus reducing eye strain. I’ve used it several times and it really helps. I wish it had integrated speakers especially with a monitor that size; it would have been more convenient than using headphones or external speakers. In my opinion, the HP Series 5 532sf is a well-rounded monitor for everyday tasks, casual entertainment, productivity work and browsing. That large clear display offers a smoother refresh rate, some eye care features, good color accuracy, and a modern design. I would recommend it unless you’re looking for a monitor for professional design work or high-resolution gaming.

This is genuinely a really good monitor, it's extremely thin, and has a nice modern style. The quality of the screen is good for being 1080p, but at this size you likely want 4k and a higher refresh rate. I rated 4 stars instead of 5 because it can't be mounted to anything without an additional attachment..so if this doesn't bother you than just consider it 5 stars.

Perfect Addition to Home Office / Remote Work

This monitor has served me well in the few weeks I have been using it. I use it as a screen extension and love it's size and often have two or three additional browsers or various apps open on the monitor, in addition to my laptop screen. I gave 4 stars because the screen clarity isn't as sharp and the color isn't as saturated as I would like but I'm not gaming on it, so it really doesn't have an impact on my workflow. I also really enjoy the tilt adjustable stand, which allows me to adjust it to the perfect angle, regardless of if I am sitting or standing at my desk. I would highly recommend this monitor, especially if you have to have multiple applications open at once.

Solid Monitor, Easy to look at

Monitor is easy to use for long periods, does not hurt the eyes. The large size seemed extravagant at first, but it makes working with many windows at once much easier. Standard HD resolution is fine, even at this scale. Only has VGA and HDMI, so that might be a problem with newer desktops that use DisplayPort.

Bigger is almost always better when it comes to computer monitors. So if you have the room for a spacious 31.5 incher, you could do a lot worse than new HP Series 5 532f FHD monitor. As the name suggests, the resolution here is full HD, 1920x1080, which is more than adequate for sharp images when dealing with most computing tasks. Its also a VA (vertical alignment) panel, instead the more common IPS (in plane switching) , which means that while viewing angles are limited, color and contrast are very good. Refresh rates of up to 100 hz are supported. Wide viewing angles are usually not important with computer monitors since you generally sit right in front of them all the time. This HP monitor has the same basic design as those of the previous-generation. That means the screen itself is very thin and light, the bezel very small and and setup is super easy. A small tilting riser simply clicks into place and it is joined to an elegant metal stand with a single screw. Even better you don't even a screwdriver to tighten it down. A flip up handle on the screw head means you can tighten it with your bare hands. All assemblies should be this easy. All mointor settings are via hidden push buttons under the lower right corner of the screen. I have never been a fan of this approach, since it makes navigating the various menu options difficult. But this setup is now typical on almost all computer monitors. The range of settings are fairly typical, except perhaps for HP's EyeEase option, which is supposed filter out blue light and reduce eye discomfort. This is of marginal value in my view since recent studies indicate blue light from computer moinitors is not anything you need to worry about. But it's there if you want to try it. For what is worth, I found the out-of-the box image settings on this monitor were excellent and required no additional tweaking. Colors were bright and vivid. Contrast was very good. Images were nice and sharp. Input options on this monitor are limited to two HDMI and one VGA port (does anyone really still use those?) It would be nice if HP would add a DisplayPort option since that is all that is available on some newer computers. But low-cost adapters make it easy to get around that issue. The monitor comes with an HDMI cable. Overall, the HP Series 5 532f is a very good monitor, providing me very little to complain about except maybe the price.
