Many appreciate its compact size and quiet operation, while also finding the scanning functionality user-friendly via the accompanying app. However, some users experienced challenges with WiFi connectivity and clarity of the setup instructions. Junk - do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You will need to buy separate ink cartridges to get out of their ink subscription plan - otherwise you can't print - you don't own the ink provided. Then when you do need to print after subscribing to this additional garbage, you spend 30 minutes each time trying to troubleshoot why an online printer can't print. Buy anything else.

Must Trouble Shoot Every time I Print
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP has really gone down hill. This is the 3rd HP I’ve had in 6 months. The 4100 won’t stay connected to the internet. Every time I want to print I have to spend 20 minutes on the HP website trying to connect it, and trouble shoot it. Do not waste your money on this. Last night I spent 30 minutes trouble shooting and it still won’t print. The display reads that it is connected to WIFI, but when I go to web site to print says it’s off line. Maybe it’s the requirement to have to do everything with HP’s website now. Its to much of a hassle will definitely take it back. I’m ready to go back to Brother for a printer.

Printer did not last one year / 250 pages
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased in Sept 2020. Printing from Android Phone and Chromebook. Now worthless. Started by not being able to determine that Letter was not A4, and was printing off the page. Tried reinstalling and kept stalling out in setup. Then was not able to determine that Print Cartridge Door was closed in setup process. Have tried power cycling. Tried Restoring to Factory Default from within HP Site. Now just sitting on my desk with all the lights blinking on and off and the display randomly flashing images. Kept going to HP Site for assistance and was routed in a circuitous help loop back to self help forums or popups saying Support was temporarily unavailable.

HP 4155 gor now review
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I can print while connected by USB to my Laptop. 3 hours and no go on the WiFi. Prints great! The easy of setting up is not there. Would rather have a CD to pop in and setup the Wireless that way.

Do not buy! Set up was so difficult!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve never spent so much time trying to set up a printer! I ignored some of the bad reviews because I needed to purchase a printer to print important and urgent documents. I never got to print them because we failed to set it up. It’s so hard to get support and/or help. So I am returning it! My old printer was a Canon, I remember buying it at a cheaper price but I never had problems setting it up. It was very easy!

Oh how I wish my old HP hadn't died.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because I had an HP for years that finally bit the dust. I bought this one because I didnt want a wireless printer which is hard to find now. This one could be used directly from my laptop with a USB. However, you need wireless service to set it up and have the app on my phone. Defeated the whole person. Took hours to set up, hardly ever prints from my laptop and sometimes prints from my phone. Hate it.

Buy anything else
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is truly the worst printer I have ever owned. You cannot do anything on the printer unless it’s through the app. There are no commands on the printer itself. If you choose not to do the auto refill ink cartridges it will not let you print and remain in error message until you do. It will say it didn’t recognize the cartridges as HP Cartiriges even though they are. It’s ridiculous. It is also the SLOWEST printer I have ever used.

Nightmare. Avoid.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this in a pinch before traveling. It was a nightmare to install and I have had to reinstall my Dell laptop a dozen times. I can't get it to work with my mother's desktop at all. Intrusive software requires you to be online and connected through HP apps, with your data also shared with Google and Adobe. I tried setting up without agreeing to any data transfer and was simply unable to proceed. (It may be possible, but not for this reasonably experienced computer user.) Purchase price seems relatively low--because of course *you* are the product and you also get killed on the ink. Dinky cartridges last about five minutes, what a waste of resources. Our last HP inkjet printer 4630 was a dream. It lasted over 10 years, had full scan/print functionality including double sided and auto feed. A good experience overall which is why we turned to HP this time. Never again. HP has lost this customer for life.

Run Far and Run Fast. That $99 price cost me $300
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a piece of GARBAGE! HP keeps all of the files in their cloud, you cant set it up, I have to have 2 service requests that I waited a week for and here I am a week later and the printer is no longer working- says its offline, which doesnt mean a thing if the brand new printer I got on May 8th, was fixed on May 15th, and is no longer working after $99 for the printer, 2 extra print cartridges, then an extra $99 for the 2 service requests. I have spent close to $300 for this nightmare and for what?? . Even the Geek squad dude said he hates working on them and some he cant even get to work at all. And the topper of them all is I forgot my password, FINALLY logged in thru gmail and found my account, only to see that I cant return anything, Printer, ink cartridges, NADA cuz I missed the deadline by 2 days.

Difficult use and set up
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very impressive looking however ease of use is something you must rely compleetley on hp smart and I am struggelimg with this display and lack of consistency in scaning especially. The peinter doesnt take long to print, is not too loud and its simple to make a colored ir black and white copy however relyimg on hp smart after replacing an existing printer is another story. I feel like i bought the cheaper model rather than 1 twice price I treated the family to hopeing for a longer lasting printer. It has some nice features but generally Id have taken a 70 buck printer that was loud and had some issues over this purchase.

Difficult to setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not recommend this printer. It’s impossible to set up if you don’t have WiFi and the direct connect is a real pain to get to work. After spending several days trying to get it to work with just a hard wired connection I was finally able to find out how to disable the direct connect. It prints nice but wow what a pain. Still can’t get the scanner to work but afraid to do anything in fear I will lose ability to print. What happened to plug and see play. This is definitely not that!

BUYER BEWARE
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have set up multiple printers both personally and professionally. Typically, its a straight forward process. The irritation I felt with this product straight out of the box was so intense I was ready to forget the $120 I spent in lieu of the satisfaction I would receive by throwing it out of my office window. The printer would not recognize the ink cartridges that were provided with the product in order to install and set up the printer for use. Incompatible? Seriously? HP's support provided no assistance as they asked multiple questions yet could fathom that the product had yet to be set up but was experiencing errors already. I wasted 2 hours of my morning and will have to spend additional time taking this useless doorstop back for a refund. Instead of HP offering more "helpful" suggestions and trouble shooting in response to these comments why not make a product that actually works or reimbursing customers for their wasted time. I will not be purchasing another HP product after this infuriating experience.

Regret
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Utter trash and I hate it. If it’s connected and working it prints terribly. Now it’s printing faded and skipping whole sections of the page even with brand new hp ink cartridges. No amount of aligning/resetting will work. It’s been a headache since I got it and I wish I returned it from the day I got it instead of trying to make it work. It is not worth buying.

Printer is a Piece of *&^%$.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is a piece of garbage; it has been non-working currently for the past three weeks. Since its purchase it has been inoperable more than it has been working. It keeps telling me that it is either offline, unavailable, not turned on when it is on, etc. I had an HP printer for more than 10 years without one mishap and I would estimate that it printed more than 30,000 pages in that time (I am a writer and manuscripts eat up pages). This current printer can't give me 20 pages before I start getting error messages.

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very poor. Set up instructions were poor. Regret buying this.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So disappointed. I explained to the Best Buy rep that I am 70 and wanted a printer that could connect easily above all. I also said I didn't mind using usb connection. He recommended this one. Well, the first thing I noticed is that it CANNOT connect via usb. Clearly marked on the pkg. But I folllowed the instructions and set it up wireless. All went well and it printed beautifully that first day. I was so pleased. I signed up for HP plus and InstaInk. Then, the next day , it would not connect. No matter what I did or how many videos I watched or how many hours I tried. I tried the Chat - which is a joke really. You don't ever connect with a real person just a robo routine that fixates on a key word and is no help at all and a great frustration. It is set up to transfer you to a person but always says " no agent available. "I tried HP Smart. I reread everything in the manual twice. No luck. So, now I have had to schedule a Geek Squad appt - $80 minimium ( and during the covid surge). So, not a happy customer. at all. I wish I had never bought this thing.
