A very good, economical printer for light printing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printers have not always been my favorite topic, even as a computer guy I see them as mostly an ends to a means. Having a great printer is never anything you usually hear anyone say anything about. I've had a lot of luck with HP through the years and, contrary to what some may think, the HP Ink is really a great value for most of us. One could argue the economic impact of it but I believe if you value your time, as most of us do, then it's a no-brainer that you should want to use HP Ink. For those of you who aren't aware, HP Ink is a subscription service that starts at $1.99 a month for light printing, then there are various tiers depending upon how much you print. I know it doesn't sound very good, but having had it, and used it for several years, I can tell you it's a great program that will save you a lot of time and money. Be aware that, for this printer, it is a requirement as well. Setting up the printer was not easy. However, I believe it was made difficult for me more so due to the fact that I had an older HP printer and had to decommission it on HP Ink before registering the new one. Do note that you really should look at the instructions before you just scan the barcode and start setting it all up. Companies are sort of training us to just do it all on our phone but do read the instructions in the box (quick start) and you'll find your time is cut down considerably. Prior to receiving this printer I had read some reviews and many reviews seemed to indicate that the actual printouts from this printer were incredibly poor and fuzzy looking. I did not have this experience, as so far, all of my print outs have been done really well and look startingly good for a printer considered to be a value printer. I have attached a few pictures for you to see for yourself. These are all at default printer settings. I must also say that I did not have any issues with papers printing and then falling to the floor. I suspect whomever said this was not aware of how to properly extend the tray branches, which it has one on each side. Once this is done I've printed multiple pages and none have fell out of the printers casing where it prints to. I'm very happy with this printer. I did have to deduct a star for the sloppy setup, which was made difficult by already having an HP printer, when it should be made easier I think if you already have an HP account. Once I got that out of the way the printer has been pretty good, without any issues at all and I'm quite happy with how it prints and how the print outs look. A great economical printer for users who want to spend less time, money and worry about printing.

HP Printer
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my home, got tired of running to Staples or OfficeMax for copies. The copies come out, clean and crisp and quick. However, after about five copies, the printer gets confused and the brain freezes and won’t print anymore until I shut it off. Haven’t had a chance to call the Geek Squad yet since it’s Christmas, but I will be calling them shortly. Other than that ink is very easy to change. Paper is very easy to install. If I could get just get this to Flo better I’m sure I’m going to really enjoy this winter.

Frustrating to Use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With only very limited use since my purchase I am finding the printer to be a bit of a challenge for just basic functions like printing documents from my PC or scanning documents into my PC. The control panel is hard to view or interpret and the user manual is of limited use. Hoping things get easier as I try to use it more frequently. Very glad I have my HP laser printer for most things.

It prints
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have yet to find a button for scan. When it is on offline mode it impossible to get it online without turning it off. I even troubleshoot it with my computer, and it told me the solution was to turn the printer on. It was on just offline. I found it best just to turn it off when I'm not using it which is a pain,

Great basic printer for the money!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer works as it should. The price was great. I am a bit disappointed that it doesn't automatically print on both sides. It requires a paper refeed for double sided copying. However, it prints well from all devices wirelessly.

SJ
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not satisfied with my purchase. The printer cord doesn’t securely connect to the printer. It disconnects at the slightest movement. Also, the response time to print is a little delayed. However, it was economical with a $10 reward discount.

Not happy at all
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably the worst printer I have ever had. Double sided pages have to be turned over manually. Entire page doesn't always print. Does not hold enough paper. Would definitely return if it wasn't past the return time.

Terrible support = not worth it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over six hours on the phone as the provided ink cartridge failed and then the printer would not complete set-up. We literally had ten phone calls to get the issues resolved. We were disconnected abruptly on three of the calls after long hold times and in the middle of troubleshooting. Printer seems OK but woe to anyone who has a setup problem.

Replacement for older HP printer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, very nice printer. Does the job. However printing time is a bit slower than my last HP printer. Display screen is small as well.

Decent entry level all in one printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great print quality. When left on, seems to lose connection to the system and sometimes is difficult in practice. Operator error, or product error? Not sure. Would purchase again for our needs though.

An average entry from HP.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After receiving the HP - DeskJet 4255e Wireless All-In-One Printer and putting it though its paces, I was left a little wanting and can only give it 3 stars. Out of the box, you have to get all of the wrapping off which can be a pain in and of itself. In our home we have a desktop computer in an office and usually plug it into the printer while also printing wirelessly from phones, laptops, and tablets. The biggest problem with this printer is that there is no outlet to plug in a direct connection. You can only print wirelessly with this printer. Be sure you are aware of that. Because you can only print wirelessly, you have to use your phone to set up this printer. It has been a long time since I have set up an HP printer but I do not remember it being this difficult. The app kept glitching out and freezing. I had to delete it and reinstall. Operationally, the printer works fine. I wish HP ink was more affordable so I did not have to sign up for HP ink again. None of the plans are an exact fit for me. That being said, the print quality is very good as is usually the case with HP products, even if the print speed seems a little slow. The 4255e is a decent printer, but would be great if it had a usb port.
