Overpriced and flimsy
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not pick it up with one hand. It flexes like crazy because it's made out of cheap plastic. What is the point of a touch screen if you are afraid to touch it? Within 2 months, I had a permanent black bar across the screen, you can see it in the picture about 2/3 of the way down. Even with Best Buy's 24 month protection subscription, they refused to even look at it before charging me $80. The silver case is very prone to staining. I am done with Best Buy.

Terrible product and horrible customer support.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.- I cannot overemphasize how terrible this product is. Over the course of four months, I have gone through two of these products, reinstalled Windows 6 times, and had countless BSODs. - HP support agents constantly told me to do the same troubleshooting steps. They would say update BIOS, Windows, and drivers even though I had already done that. Every single agent said: reinstall Windows. I did factory reset, I did HP recovery tool, I did media creation tool with generic windows reinstall. Lo and behold, I would continue to get random BSODs, go back on support and the agents would say: reinstall windows! As Einstein said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” I would ask them why I should do that again and they did not know how to answer. If I asked them a question not on their script, they did not know how to answer it, they would just say “surely I will help you solve this problem” and “HP envy is a great product”. Completely useless. - Some BSODs I have gotten include WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, and UNEXPECTED_STORE_LOCATION to name just a few. - I bought the first one in July and sent it in for warranty in October. They sent me a new one, and I’ve been having the exact same problems. I have frequent BSODs that indicate hardware failures, yet all system component tests passed. I ran Memtest86+ overnight and there were no errors but the BSODs persisted. - After my first HP Envy went to garbage, I was willing to give HP the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was just a fluke. Then they sent me a new one for warranty, and guess what, same issues. I cannot overemphasize how horrible this product is and how terrible HP support is. I wanted to leave a review on the HP website but there was no option to, so that's a red flag. I’m a poor student who cannot afford a new laptop but I’m not confident in getting a new warranty laptop from HP because of my terrible experience. As I wrote this review I got another BSOD.

2 months later…
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a laptop in September and used it a few times. In December it stopped working. I brought it in for repair, and it took about 2 months get done, l mean, it couldn’t get fixed and they decided to give me a new. My frustration was because l needed my laptop during the holidays to work and they didn’t have my computer ready, as promised or neither an option to get me something else to use to work. I got behind schedule with all my work because l could get the job done while traveling. For that reason l got the computer, right?! The good thing is, they will give me a new laptop but, they want to me to buy a new protection plan for the new laptop. I got the protection plan for acidental and damage, not for factory issue, that should be covered by it own warranty. It’s getting interesting…

Crapped out in 3 months.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd HP and last. Last 2 were Spectres that both had the fans stop working. Learned my lesson. This was supposed to be a secondary PC to use on the go. It's been 3 months and 4 days. My laptop won't turn on and won't take a charge. Could be battery, could be motherboard, but i know one thing: it couldn't be me again. im getting my money back on this and going ASUS or Lenovo or if I can get a good deal, Microsoft like my main PC.

Touchpad failure.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it home and turned it on. Touchpad not working. Used touch screen to get it up and running. HP support was very helpful but could not get the touchpad to work. Returning it to BB today.

No price adjustment!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My college student's laptop died a few weeks into this fall's classes. We rushed to Best Buy (not Dell, Amazon or other retailer - we chose Best Buy!) The price just dropped by $400 and they will not give me the price adjustment only 2 business days past their measly 15 day price adjustment/return window. Bad customer service. I will be buying elsewhere next time.

Poor screen ruins a great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great specs... lovely keyboard... screen is terrible. The screen is not crisp at all. Text is always a bit blurry and blacks are not dark. Washed out.
