No stylus
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything was great, except for the fact that I was told there would be a stylus and there was not. Customer service informed me that it must’ve been some sort of promotion that is not there anymore. Aside from the fact that the HP team themselves said that it comes with one, but it doesn’t now I have to figure out which one is supposed to come with it and spend more money.

Disappointing. Will be returning.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop in a panic when my Lenovo Yoga gave out and I had midterms due in a few days. They saleswoman sold me hard on it, all but disparaging the other laptops I was considering in its place. I'm not a fan. It couldn't even open a 20 page PDF my first day using it. It kept telling me the Adobe app was not responding, then closing out of all of my open apps. For a 16", I would have appreciated a number pad, but she told me it was to make room for the speakers on top. Those aren't speakers, that's a useless fan. The speakers are on the bottom and sound horrendous, even when I hold it up in the air. Also, the facial recognition is all but useless. I miss the fingerprint pad on my Lenovo... It was on sale, so I guess they are trying to offload the model and why she was pushing so hard for me to buy it. I'm going to return this before the 60 day window closes and get another Lenovo.

Computer broken for the 2nd time
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this computer at a very good price in July 2024. In just over two months, the motherboard went bad. HP support worked with me over several days, then it took 39 days to get it repaired. Now 6 months later, the system fan is not working, giving bios messages. I have spent 4 to 5 hours the last two days with HP support and reinstalling Windows as they suggested (though this didn't make any sense). I will now send in the computer for repairs again for at least 9 to 11 days. They offered me an extended two-year warranty for the discounted price of $160.79 (normally $239). I am not going to spend good money after bad. I hope this repair last, or I will just purchase another brand of computer next time. HP support has been friendly and stayed on the phone with me for an extended period, and that I appreciate. I bought HP because I have always had reliable equipment, but it seems things have changed.

Worst touchpad I've ever had
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is perhaps the worst computer I've ever purchased all because of one single function. I use my laptop primarily for business use on the go, and I use the mouse touchpad 95% of the time. This mousepad causes me so much frustration, I want to throw this laptop in the garbage. I've changed the touchpad settings, to no avail. The mousepad is just way too large. Unless you keep your hand completely off the computer at all times, or you literally use two hands on the mousepad, you will find yourself opening, closing and/or moving tabs constantly. I wish I would have returned this laptop during the return period. Unfortunately I didn't. I'm hoping this review saves some folks from my same frustration. Full disclosure, if you use an external mouse the majority of the time, then you'll probably be fine. The rest of the laptop functions are nice.

I wasn't impressed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the HP had some nice features, like a free trial of dropbox, there was an issue with the smart mouse pad. It was glitchy and the screen would minimize. I discussed the issue in detail with the State College geek squad, and i ended up exchanging it for a Lenovo that i like much better.

Boot problems in a week. No ssd error
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer had boot problems within a week of using. I would be working on something then it would show the blue screen. Upon restarting, the laptop would say it could not find a hard drive. No diagnosing steps would work. Sent to HP service, now works……so far

Awful trackpad. Would have been a good computer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This would have been an awesome computer for the money. It was open box in excellent condition and discounted so it was almost $400 off. Everything was running smoothly setting up the computer (except for all of the Microsoft ads and telling me 4 times not to install Chrome). The major issue was the track pad. It's absolute garbage. If your palm is near the pad it freezes the mouse. If you thumb touches the pad while your pointer is moving the mouse, it freezes (Macs don't do that). If you are trying to click and drag a file, it freezes a good percentage of the time. What's the point in putting all that effort into making a good computer if the function you use all of the time is garbage. Did no one test the track pad functionality before it went to market?

Disappointed but not surprised
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned MacBooks for the past 10 years. I needed to buy a PC Laptop for work. This has been maybe the worst computer I have ever owned. The screen seems dull even though it’s full HD. If I don’t use it for a few days and then try to use it, it can take 20-30 minutes before it wakes up enough to become operational. Even once it’s operational it lags for a while before it works well. Battery life has been ok and it’s fine once it’s been running for a while but when I need to jump on my computer and I can’t, it becomes frustrating day in and day out.

Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Between the screen freezes and touch misses, what is there to like???? I am disappointed in this purchase. The sound is great, graphics are great, however, in the middle of typing the mouse jumps to another part of the screen and refuses to return to the location I placed it. While scrolling, the screen freezes. Definitely not worth the money unless productivity and accomplishing ANYTHING is not your concern.

Laptop not working properly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been having issues with this laptop since the purchase. I have an appointment scheduled to come in and let the Geek Squad figure out what is going on. Sometimes the laptop won’t even turn on. This is not good considering this is a brand new device.

Terrible keys
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this was going to be a good laptop when I purchased it, but the keys stick and the caps lock doesn’t work properly. I will be taking it in soon, with school and holidays I haven’t been able to.

Okay Product.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I get alot of Black screen flicker where the display would restart, and my videos would stop and I have to refresh the webpage.. This is despite there being 4gb of RAM still avaiable & CPU not being stressed.

Keypad too sensitive
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keys are too sensitive. If I hoover over the key pad while checking my email it will erase an email that I haven't read yet.

Misleading design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you require good audio, this is not the laptop. The design is extremely misleading. What look like top speakers on each side of the keyboard are just for ventilation. The only speakers on this laptop are on the bottom of the computer. Past HP Envy designs did not have this design flaw, but the lack of decent speakers make this laptop worthless for music or streaming.
