Great printer- difficult to set up wirelessly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Printer. But very difficult to initially set-up. Since the printer was selected specifically for USB OR wireless, and for the auto-ship toner feature OR not, it should not require being set up via internet...vs. immediately working with the USB connection. (And since it initially DOES this, it should continue to do so, unless the owner later selects wireless.)

Impressed, HP+ is great value but not mandatory
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Impressed, HP+ is good value, not mandatory HP+: I was previously suspicious of HP Instant Ink, but HP's new offering HP+ is infinitely better, fairer, and offers real value. Out of the box, if you sign up to HP+ you get 6 months of free ink and 1500 pages per month. This is more than fair and enough to work out what the right HP+ would be best for your needs. And if you're not interested in HP+ you don't have to have it and just buy genuine HP cartridges instead. The lowest HP+ cost is $1.99 a month for 50 pages. Which be enough for most home use and since you can upgrade downgrade plans, I am confident that when everyone is back in the office we will be able to manage HP+ effectively. By my math though, HP+ makes sense for me. One of the benefits is that HP+ also doubles the warranty (2 years) and invests in re-forestation for every page you print. So it's effectively a green printing subscription - which I personally like. I am actually surprised HP doesn't market this benefit more. See the image uploaded I screenshotted from the HP+ app. Setup: The HP M234dwe supports 802.11n and setup is all done via the app. Setup was surprisingly easy, probably the best setup experience ever for a wireless printer. Print Quality: Print quality is great. It's a 600dpi laser, so you can't fault the quality. The speed of the M234dwe is rated at 30ppm. Which kind of makes me laugh, because on the base HP+ plan that means you could go through your 50 monthly pages in 2min. You can print via AirPrint on the iPhone/iPad - which is a huge plus for me. Scan Quality: The M234dwe Scanner is 600dpi as well. I like that you can scan from the app straight to your phone. Such a game-changer, no more firing up my PC when I just want to scan a page to email to someone or keep a copy of a receipt. Other Thoughts: I didn't know where to put this, but hope it helps someone. There are some weird design decisions. The paper try design is weird. Parts of it fold up, some clip-on, and it's not completely enclosed so there's an open slot at the front. I really don't know what HP was going for with the M234dwe but I really wish it was a fully enclosed tray that fit neatly under the print and didn't stick out a few inches from the front. I also don't like the little LCD screen that just shows error codes. It's not intuitive and while you can get all of the real information from the app. I wish, so much, that it was a more useful screen or just HP got rid of it altogether. Printers that show error codes should be a thing of the past. These are not reasons not to buy, just to let others know. I am still very happy with the printer.

Solid HP Laser. Not good Android setup.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok. I am a long time HP fan. I still own 2 dinosaur laser printers 1020 and color laser 2600n. I have owned these printers for over 10 now and they still work after many toner cartridges later. I still use the 1020 for BW till this day. So my love for HP is there. Fast forward to today and this model. Pros: Sleek Modern Look Multifunction with scanner HP+ free ink for 6 months and extended warranty. Customer service was friendly and they actually figured out the setup issue. Cons: Let's get this out of the way. Setup was a pain. I tried to setup with Android mobile and it was a no go. I reset per the instructions and it was a a no go. I conceded and called help on HP. After 1.5 hours with mobile support I had to take out a PC. Apparently this new model has a flaw with Android registration to HP+ and it needed a windows based PC to get over this issue. Second Con is I had to enter my payment information in order to get HP+. Not too fond of this but ok. Wished it had scan to cloud feature. Scan to device is easy to use with app. After setup was complete. I registered the printer on all my devices. Kid's Chrome books Mine and my wife's surfaces Mine and my wife's android phones And we were up and running. If it wasn't for the setup issue I would give this printer 5 stars. HP should probably fix the setup issue with Android so their customer service does not get flooded and also match compatibility on the specs.

Good printer, fair scanning.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I surveyed my printing requirements, I realized that the majority of my printing was in black and white. I was the perfect candidate for a monochrome laser printer. The HP M234dwe printer is an all in one printer, it scans, prints and copies. With a rated 30 ppm, it is relatively fast, with excellent print quality. It also supports two sided printing. The printer also does a decent job in handling graphics, producing refrigerator ready greyscale prints of my grandson. Where the printer falls short is in it's lack of a document feeder for the scanner/copier. The scanner requires manually feeding each individual sheet and with the required warm up is slow. Once warmed up, it produces decent images. It's the limited all in one capability that causes me to downgrade the rating.

Expectations Met
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent quality prints and pleased to have auto duplex with this printer. Bluetooth can be slow to stage large documents. Will likely hard wire to router when I get time to expand the wall outlet. Had to restart the configuration process from scratch once -- still not sure what I did wrong. Demo video was helpful. HP is really pushing the cartridge subscription service so be prepared during set-up and config to be bombarded, Overall, I'm very pleased with the printer. I got 15 years of great service from my 1020 and we are off to a good start with this one.

Affordable home-use printer/scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.basic printer/scenner with all you need for home, fast in start and speed of printing. Exonomical in the ink usage Definitely great choice if you don't consider to spend much money for this The only problem i experienced was setup. i did it once, but after the printer stopped to connect. Also, the scanner hasn't been setup at all. So i had to re-setup printer and installanother app from HP to make scanning

So far so good...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wireless setup was the easiest printer installation I've ever done. Now all my devices (phone and tablet too) can print to my HP. So far it's been a good quality purchase. It even has a feature to help you copy two sided items (like ID cards) on the same page. If you do not print a boatload of copies each month then stay away from the subscription service.

Good Printer
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printer is small enough for a laser all in one. I suggest you use a phone when setting up this printer for the first time. Setup was a little clunky specially since i was using an older computer with Windows 7.

WiFi connectivity is an issue in college dorms
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little disappointed it doesn’t work in a college dorm due to it’s not a private wifi. We had to buy a cord to plug it into a computer to print because we couldn’t use the wireless function.

HP laser jet printer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was working with an ink jet printer and got tired of constantly replacing the ink which is incredibly expensive. Decided to get a laser jet printer. After comparing printers and reading the reviews, I decided to go with this one. So far it is performing like expected. Quiet quick printing. I am happy with this printer so far and think it is a good choice for the value for home use. No regrets.
