I bought this printer about a year and a half ago. It was slow to print at times and didnt even print at all on other occasions. Today, i got an error message saying that the cartridge is jammed and wont move so now it can’t print. After 2 hours of troubleshooting and finding out that it’s past warranty, im annoyed just looking at it. This is now junk thats just sitting in my office…taking up space…

I bought this printer, thinking it was like normal printers where you purchase it once and then you are able to use it for however many years the printer last. However, that is not the case. This printer you have to purchase the plan otherwise the printer will not work. So not only do you have to pay the $200 to buy it you have to pay the $50 just to continue using it. Please buy a different printer. This one is not worth it. The ink comes out way too thick. It takes forever to dry on the papers. It also jams a lot. I am only doing basic printing and it struggles to keep up with it. If you are going to print from like a small home business or something like that, please choose a different printer.

    Color printing utterly fails

Run away from this printer. I bought this printer in attempt to (hopefully) switch all of my printing for my graphic design business from third-party to in-house printing (a much better choice overall). However, this printer failed over and over and over. I've had it about a month and I should've taken it back immediately once I knew, but I gave it a shot and it failed. I've tried printing with every possible setting on the printer, changing my computer settings, printing on different types of paper, printing with PDFs, PNGs, the whole 9 yards and it's still extremely sub-par, especially for the price. The ease of printing is nice, but the quality is what matters to me. I could've purchased the $49.99 epson printer and gotten the same results. Extremely disappointed that I wasted this much money. I attached a photo of a sticker I tried to print. It should be nice, solid blocks of color. Instead, it looks like it was done with watercolor. It's extremely splotchy, and messy. I've never had a printer print this terribly before and I haven't the faintest idea why this one is doing it. For me, this doesn't come within the realm of acceptable. After multiple attempts, I managed to get the splotches out by changing some settings, but it was still dull, lifeless and barely-there color. Not ideal for a business.

      Hi, Cate.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has rendered prints of substandard quality. It’s easy to understand why this would be profoundly frustrating, especially in a graphic design business setting, so I’ll offer some information I hope will help.

First, if you haven’t done so already, I recommend you follow a guide to improving print quality that covers faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text. Find that guide by following this link:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05541385

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

The reason it gets 1... because it won't let me do ZERO. It's 'self-healing WiFi' disconnects from my network daily. I've had it for 4 months and don't print much, but it says I should order ink. And I finally go to print photos... and nuthin. The integrated photo printing app doesn't allow me to select specific sizes (which I need for passport photos), so I have to go to another application. I guess I should have printed a photo when I got it, because now I'm past BB return window. Wish there was a lemon law for printers.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that your printer has failed to maintain a reliable wireless connection and that you’ve encountered difficulty printing the size photos you need. The frustration you express is wholly understandable, considering the formidable challenges you’ve endured with the device. I want to help you get the printer working to your satisfaction, so I’ll suggest some resources aimed at making that happen.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity difficulties. You can find that page here:

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has performed so poorly for you. Your review is brief, but it’s easy to understand why the unit’s inability to fax or scan via the document feeder as well as print in color would be a jarring surprise. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll direct you to a resource and provide some information designed to reach that end.

I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has not worked properly since you set it up. I can imagine that seeing a paper-jam error when a paper jam does not exist would be confusing and very quickly quite frustrating. I would love to help you get your printer operating like it should, so I’ll offer a resource aimed at furthering that end.

Regarding paper jam messages, as you’ve discovered, sometimes these can be real or false, meaning the printer might report an error when there is no jammed paper. I recommend referencing the steps in this document to troubleshoot real as well as false paper jams:

A Clumsy Vending Machine For Ink Cartridges

Everything about this printer is an embarrassment for HP. Physically, it is noticeably larger than HP printers with similar printing capabilities from years ago. The paper tray is quite small (especially for business printing) and HP has redesigned how you load papers into the tray - it is wholly unintuitive. Above the paper tray is an extending plastic platform designed to automatically reach out to catch your printed pages so that they don't shoot out onto your floor. Even when I printed the initial alignment page, this mechanism failed to engage. There are no ports on this model for memory cards to print from. Admittedly, this is not being marketed as one of their photo printers but I don't understand how documents from memory cards are not part of office printing necessities. During setup, this model immediately identified the included ink cartridges as official HP ink cartridges. A little bit of research alerted me that this printer will only accept genuine HP ink cartridges. It will not allow you to print in black ink alone if your color cartridges are empty or are not installed. Scanning, faxing, copying, and printing times are average. Nothing stellar. Document printing and color printing (including photo printing) are average. Nothing stellar. What does work? Their instant ink program - an ink subscription service (their "Ink Of The Month" club). Everything about their service is well defined and clear. But in an new printer era where they will need to compete with other printers with HUGE non-cartridge ink reservoirs, please take a look at the size of the cyan cartridge that fits this printer in the attached picture below. For a machine that is clearly being marketed as a source of ink cartridge sales, you can find other models with more or better features for WAY less money. There is no way that this can be an economical purchase for home or office.

Nothing but trouble from day one. Easy to set up, difficult to use. Never count on what pages it will print, seems to forget it can print color, takes a long time to shut down and now it says there's a paper jam with no paper in sight. It NEVER worked right. My son said they had the same printer at work with the same problems, should have returned it immediately.

It worked great for the first year then it had problems with the paper tray. Even with HP paper it keeps on indicating tray was out of paper. Multi printing would last a few copies then it would say it was out of paper. HP support was no help most episodes took up to 30 minutes and it would eventually stop working again. Ive always liked HP but IM thinking of my work and home needs might be changing soon.

Originally bought in 2021, printer didn't even last two years before having to be traded in and replaced in 2023. Now in 2025, printer is having issues again. Every time you go to print, it does printer maintenance despite being on all the time. Ink doesn't last long and it is so hard to change print settings. If you're scanning, you have to open first the app on the computer and do it from there: you can't just scan to a USB drive or anything. HP site is not helpful for when error codes pop up.

Print quality is good. HP makes its money on the ink. The printer, as part of the setup, wants you to join their mail ink service. HP then remotely assesses everything you print and determines when you need ink mailed to you. The cartridges they send can only be used while you are paying for the subscription service. If you discontinue the service, they disable the cartridges you bought. If you use non-subscription HP ink, the printer does not / cannot assess when you need replacements. It just prints pages missing colors. No warning message is given, even though we know the printer is aware of low ink. There are no ink-level reports available. One more thing, cartridges from alternate suppliers will be assessed by the printer and disabled.

Never have I had to deal with a more aggravating printer. Sometimes it will work fine for days, then, like now, I cannot get it to print at all. I have an older HP that I liked, but this one is just a piece of junk. The print quality is fine, IF you can get it to print! The indicators on the machine mean nothing. I am constantly told it is offline when it is not. I have tried just about everything, and nothing works every time - it is hit or miss if I can get what I need or not. I suggest you keep searching rather than deal with constant unknowns and time-wasting.

My old hp printer lasted 15 years. This one squeaks, groans, and rattles out of the box. Have to use HP Smart to print anything and not compatible with older Windows. Not near the quality of my old hp and HP big brother wants access to all your printing. The print quality is good but it sounds like it’s going to fall apart. You can creat a direct connection similar to Wi-Fi but still have to have HP smart. Will not buy HP again. My first tower was HP and nothing but headaches. My HP printer was excellent. Now they managed to screw up their printers too. I have an older laptop with excellent print programs but HP smart isn’t compatible with older Windows.

This is without a doubt the worst printer/scanner I have ever owned, most of which have been HP products. The process for installing the printer software was a joke, as there are at least two different versions - one for desktop, one for your phone. Then HP tries spamming you with endless appeals to create "HP Smart"and "HP+" accounts, so that it can sell you on its ink subscription. Then there are the endless pop-ups reminding you that one of your ink cartridges is running low, even when the printer software is closed, WITH NO VISIBLE WAY TO TURN OFF THE ENDLESS REMINDERS. Note to HP: I neither need nor want an account to use a printer/scanner that is usually just six feet from my PC. Also, one or two reminders that I'm running low on ink is plenty. I don't need or want 20 of them a day. Then I end up with at least two different versions of the scanning software on my desktop, both of which look like they were written ca. 2003 and neither of which is very functional. The desktop software seems to function as little more than spamware, constantly demanding you sign up for HP Smart and/or buy ink. Then the printer/scanner is *constantly* disconnecting from my extremely stable mesh network, with which no other devices in my household ever seem to have an issue. I have now had this issue with two different HP printers/scanners in two different homes with completely different WiFi equipment. I was hoping that issue would be resolved with a newer model and newer technology. Nope. I tried reconnecting the printer to the network and it kept failing. The interface on the printer is as clunky as the desktop software and appears to be every bit as dated. It tells me I am connected to my laptop but isn't. So I re-add my laptop. Now there are TWO links on it to my laptop, as there is no visible way to remove the dead link. So then I tried reconnecting to the printer via the desktop software and all it would do is demand that I create an HP Smart account, which I do not want. I have probably owned a dozen printers and/or scanners in my life, most of which were HP, and I can literally say that I have never had a worse experience from start to finish than I've had with this one. Yes, finish - because I am taking it back and getting anything other than an HP. Dear HP: please just give us a decent printer/scanner that stays connected to our WiFi networks and scanning software that looks like it was written some time in the last decade. Sincerely, longtime loyal HP customer

HP printers are horrible. I always owned them since 1991. The last one purchased died in less than 3 years. Door fell off paper tray, had to disassemble for multiple types of paper jams. Went through over $500+ in ink last 2-3 years. Last year about this time they altered their software. Every device a problem and different results. This one just returned after month no way to get it to function with HP Smart, stay connected to Wi-Fi and devices simultaneously. Returned it for an Epson cost more since lost holiday black friday sale price. Hope it works, because the printers are now low grade plastic and lot less functions.

I recently purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer with 6 months of Instant Ink Included with HP+. However, I must say that I'm extremely disappointed with its performance. This printer is, in my opinion, not worth the price, as it has proven to be painfully slow and unreliable. Printing with this device is a frustrating experience. Whenever I attempt to print something, it takes an excruciatingly long time to even begin the printing process. I find myself waiting anywhere between 8 to 15 minutes just for the printer to initiate the task it's been given. This excessive delay has caused significant inconveniences and frustrations, especially when I need to print important documents promptly. Furthermore, the sluggishness of this printer has made it abundantly clear that it falls far short of my expectations. The slow performance is a significant drawback, and it feels like a poor investment for the price I paid. I regret not thoroughly researching and reading reviews before making this purchase. In summary, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e has proven to be a disappointing and overpriced addition to my office equipment. Its slow performance and unreliability have made me wish I had never bought it. I would caution others to consider their printing needs carefully and explore alternative options before investing in this printer.

Poor quality compared to old HP I replaced. Paper tray has 8 1/2 & 14 settings, but will not stay in 8 1/2. Cheap plastic. With 20# multipurpose paper it kept jamming & would not print both sides. Constantly put out extra blank sheets. Changed to Premium 24# and would finally print both sides, but still sometimes puts out extra blank sheet. Totally disappointed in this machine. Had to sign up for the free ink to finally get to set up. Don't waste your money.

I have no idea how this printer has a 4.8 star rating. I have had HP printers most of my life and have typically liked them, the last one being an 8610. I would absolutely not buy the HP 8025e again. It wasn't too bad to get setup, except that you have to download and use the HP Smart App that doesn't work well at all. The printer takes forever to warm up and adjust itself. It takes forever to just print a simple WORD Doc sometimes. It also jams up when trying to print a PDF from a Web site like a Recipe for example. It will print the first page and then lock up. Then you have to cancel the print job. I have retried but it always locks up again. Labels have also been a real pain. Avery 11136 labels for Hanging File folders is so difficult to figure out the directional flow of the sheet of labels that you can waste a few sheets of labels before you figure it out. I use a plain piece of paper first now if it has been a while and I forgot. Then you have to mark the paper front, left, Right, Bottom, etc., and test print and it is still a little difficult. My opinion is the printer is horrible and would not recommend it.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a troublesome time with your printer. I can wholly understand why poor performance with the HP Smart App as well as difficulty printing PDFs and labels would be a frustrating combination. I want to help you resolve these issues, so I’ll suggest some resources I hope will make that happen.

First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site to installing and using the HP Smart App, especially the FAQ portion, which covers common questions as well as difficulties users have encountered. Find that guide here:
