Overall great, finicky paper tray
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this printer is solid, with reasonably easy setup using the HP Printer app, decent print speed and quality, and a full year of HP+ included, which means you won't have to pay for ink for a full year. My one gripe is the main bottom printer tray is a bit finicky to pull out, insert paper, and replace again. Fortunately it holds quite a few sheets of paper so it's not something I'll need to be doing very often, and I'm sure after a few times it'll be a bit easier, but compared to my old HP laser printer, the printer tray feels cheap and poorly designed. In addition to just being difficult to pull out and reinsert, the paper doesn't fit snugly in the tray, so I wasn't confident that it was in correctly. Fortunately, it's printed without any issue so it's fine, but I'd prefer it be more obvious that it was loaded correctly. I was able to print from my computer and my phone easily, and pages printed fairly quickly. Coming from a laser jet, it was a bit slower than my last printer but overall printed quickly enough to not be bothered by the speed. I tested several color pages, in addition to some black and whites, and the quality was overall satisfactory. I didn't have any photo paper to test photo printing, but general document printing was clear and satisfactory. With the additional abilities to scan, copy, and fax, and quick print speed, this is a well-rounded home-office printer. Given how painful the loading tray was for me personally, I'd probably test a few other printers before settling on this one, were I to be in the printer market again, but aside from that relatively minor inconvenience, this does everything it advertises.

Compact size and solid performer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve recently picked up the HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e Wireless All-in-One Printer with 1 Full Year Instant Ink with HP+ and actually activated the Instant Ink Program! I’m switching out my workhouse HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 – debuting in about 2014 – and is showing some signs of failure. The biggest features used in my household are Printing of course, then Scanning, then Copying. We don’t do any faxing from home anymore – so this is a dying feature in my opinion. If you don’t already have a multi-function device like this – it’s a MUST for school-age kids and a home office. My impression thus far is great. It installed without issue – and HP must have worked on their Scan to Computer function as this time it worked straight out of the box! This baby boasts fast (for home printers) color and b/w prints up to 20 pages a minute. It’s recommended monthly page volume is about 800 pages – so if you print about that or more you should be looking for a larger printer. I noted that the paper tray hold less that my previous printer (only 225 sheet) and the auto document feeder can accommodate about 35 sheets. The printer uses 4 cartridges of the HP 923 series – but as I stated since the [rinter comes with a full year of Instant Ink, I opted for that and will determine if I stick with it in February 2025. Scanning works well – and I’ve testing the document feeder, glass top scanner and initiating from both the printer and from the computer. Download and install the HP Smart software to get it setup – and you’re off and running in no time. The 8139e can handle borderless printing, up to 10 envelopes at a time and legal paper with no issues. Scanning resolution up to 1200x1200 dpi. Copy resolution up to 600 dpi. Overall, this is a solid printer and think this will be a suitable replacement for my aging 8610.

The One to buy.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printers have never been my favorite thing, but we do need them. Spending a ton of money on something that likely won't last all that long and provides never ending agro is not my thing at all. So, imagine my surprise when we found this very nice machine on special, at a price that makes that more premium choise within reach. Behold, this HP has made me happy. It does everything we need swiftly, accurately, and without drama. I do recomend this. Prints are crisp and clean, and the paper doesn't seem to want to jam up. I'm a happy camper.

Flawless setup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried the HP printer would not be a good or as long lasting as the last wireless HP printer I had but so far, so good and setting it up was a breeze. Instructions for most everything today say easy setup and I was not so sure but true to HP’s word, it was very simple and almost automatic. The only thing I miss about my old printer was the arm to catch the printed paper would come automatically and on this one you have to either keep it out or pull it out each time you print. No big deal though.

Great and versatile printer/fax/scanner!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm upgrading my printer from the HP Envy 5055 with this model, and am generally impressed! It is nice to be able to print directly from my smartphone, and the speed of printing is great as well. As a side-job, I regularly host trivia events where every team needs to have multiple pages printed out for them. This means on a slow week I'm printing about 40 pages, and on busy weeks I'm printing about 150 or so. This printer spits them out quickly where the older model would get bogged down with some color print-jobs. One amazing benefit of this printer if you print a lot of materials is that it will basically pay for itself with the one year of free ink. With my printing, I typically maintain the tier where I'm paying $14/month. This means that in one year, I'll save $168. Since this printer costs about $190 or so, it practically pays for itself, and definitely would if you are printing more than I do. There is also added fax capability (if you have a home phone line and actually need to do so) and the scanner with a feeder tray. This is nice as I keep my printer on a shelf and don't routinely need to scan. Now, whenever I do need to, I can just put the paper in the feeder and not worry about the clearance above it to get to the scanner. The one point which is a little odd is that it requires separate drivers on your computer to scan, but this is not a big deal. The only downside that I've found is that this printer is capable of having a paper-jam where my old 5055 never did. Just watch out for how much paper you put in the tray at one time, and you should be fine.
