Don’t Recommend
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the beginning this printer has been giving me issues and I have only had it for 3 months. It is extremely slow and every time I want to print anything out the whole process takes 20 minutes. It’s either there are connection issues, the page won’t fully print or it won’t recognize that’s there paper in the tray.

Worst printer experience ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible printer for the outrageous price. Can’t print anything even after resetting the printer. Calling the company! They were no help!

Absolute let down.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brand new and it won't communicate with the color printhead correctly. Fiddled with it for an hour, finally got it to print color again, and it took about 5 pages for it to not print poorly. Tried to use it the next day, color printhead won't communicate again. I bought this because my last HP printer failed to communicate wirelessly anymore, and the Epson equivalent wasn't in stock at best buy. I needed this to work for an event, and it is a complete letdown. Wont even let me print in B&W.

Worst printer I’ve ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is absolutely horrible. Print jobs are sent and about 80% of the time the printer freezes up and the only way to fix the problem is to unplug it, let it reboot, and then try again-sometimes multiple yimes. When sending a print job through the app, it takes forever for the connection to be made, and you are left on the printer app screen unable to do anything else on your phone/computer until the job has been sent. Trying to print a JPEG? You better make sure that you set aside a substantial amount of time. Literally took over an hour to print five black and white screenshots. Simply not worth the time, energy, and frustration. It takes to get even the simplest of print jobs completed. Would give it zero stars if I could. The amount of time I have wasted trying to get things printed is absolutely infuriating.

Worst Printer Ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst printer I ever owned. I've had the printer for about a year and I'm getting a message that the print heads need to be replaced. I bought the super tank to avoid having to spend 70+ bucks ink and now I find out I have to replace the heads and I hardly use the printer. But that is not the best part, the printer will not maintain a wireless connection. Every time I want to print I have to turn off the printer and reestablish the connection. When I works it's fine but the problem is, it never works!!

worst experience ever
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite possibly one of the most memorable printer purchases I've ever made—unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons. The printer gave up after just two months. I reached out to Best Buy and the Geek Squad, only to find myself caught in a cycle of calls, upsells (including a membership that cost more than the printer itself), and ultimately, no resolution. I was even told I could take it to any store for a replacement—spoiler alert: that didn’t go as promised either. At this point, it's not hard to see why Best Buy is finding it tough to stay competitive in today’s market.

Poor quality
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only used the printer maybe 5 times and already had to replace the tricolor printhead twice. Is it the printer, printhead or both that are poorly made? I wasn’t willing to get the tricolor printhead a third time. Also, I found the wireless connection very faulty. I am having to reset the printer each time before I could connect and print anything. An issue that I never had with my previous HP printer or my current Canon printer. Anyway, do not waste your money on this particular printer. I ended up giving this away and buying a more expensive but better quality printer.

Better Options
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product failed for me- error messages could not be corrected with regard to ink function, There are ink distributor cartridges that add to the margin of error and will mean expenses in the future- Epson, which I replaced it with is much better set up. The paper also loads from the rear which seems more exposed than the traditional drawer.

Unreliable At Best.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst printer I’ve ever used and I’ve been heavily using all manner of printer since 1987. About 2 PPM. Holds about 20 pieces of paper, if that; the paper feeder is rarely not jammed regardless of how much paper is loaded. The problem is the design. It has problems grabbing the page; mostly grabs none, but sometimes grabs +/- 5. The WiFi is very dicey; it mostly works but it’s not dependable. It’s real cool that the ink is inexpensive. Shocking lack of quality from HP. HOW is 1-2 PPM acceptable in 2025? What a mess.

Horrible printer
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Horrible. Ink almost out after 3 months use & it’s used maybe once a week for 1-2 pages and mostly black ink only. Takes forever to print so speed is slow & trying to AirPrint is awful! 98% of the time it won’t pick up on the AirPrint and you have to turn the printer off/back on & start the process again. It’s not an internet connectivity issue. Worst printer I’ve ever bought. I want to throw it out the window! Got suckered into the sales pitch from Best Buy guys saying the bottled ink is the new way to go and it last two years. NO TRUE! Do not buy this printer.

Find Another
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this less than 30 days and tried printing a document of 7 pages. Printed the first 4 just fine and on page 5 it started making a horrible noise and paper was getting stuck. I have a paper jam somewhere but see no paper. Best Buy wouldn’t return or even help me because it was past the 14 day return policy and HP said I had to wait 30 days before they’d send me a new printer. I had only done about 4 print jobs of one piece of paper before it decided it couldn’t handle 7 pages.

AWFUL PRINTER
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Legitimately the worst printer ever created. It will say its connected to your wifi or network but then never print even when you use the pointless app it now requires. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. It wastes your time because you have to reconnect or delete the software to re set it up. DO NOT BUY. I won't even donate this. I'll put it in the garbage of burn it.

This was only sort of a problem
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product to replace my previous HP printer, I have forgotten the old model. This new printer did not include a firewire to connect the printert to my PC. Not only that, the type of cable connection required is obsolete, and unavailable for purchase as a separate item. I do not understand how such a major flaw slipped through and ended up in a market anywhere on this planet. Fortunately, I am now fully retired and I don't need a printer anymore for any reason whatever. Thank you.

Regret buying
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it because the person who helped me with the pirchase said it was a really good printer and very easy to install. So slooooooow, and very bad connection issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst printer I've ever had. It took 3 to 5 minutes to print one page, and trying to use your wifi to print from your phone was almost impossible. I'll never buy HP printers again. Oh i called customer service and they wanted to send a tech out to look at it, for the low cost of 250.00 when the device was bought the same day. WOW

Best of luck if you buy it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m having a lot of errors when trying to print. It’s nice not having to change out ink cartridges but not sure it’s worth the hassle if I can’t use it

HP is going downhill
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every HP printer I’ve purchased has ended up in the return bin. Why does it take 15-20 minutes for this printer to warm up, only to require another 15-20 minutes before a print? The printer is incredibly slow. To make matters worse, it constantly disconnects from Wi-Fi, rendering it completely useless.

Absolutely trash
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will never buy another HP Smart anything. They're complete trash. Every single time I try to print, it's 20 minutes of screwing with connectivity, trying to get it to read the printer, and it'll show up on mye screen, but it won't allow me to print anything. And it's back and forth, back and forth, in and out of different screens, screwing with it, trying to get it to print. Absolute trash HP, you are garbage. Stay away from this printer and anything HP Smart
