Good printer with annoying auto-off feature.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It prints good quality photos and documents. It is easy to fill the ink tanks. The replaceable print heads are an excellent feature. The 15 pages per minute is a good speed. The problem is this printer automatically shuts down. So every time you want to print something you have to go and turn the printer on; it is a major inconvenience. Also, the paper tray doesn't come out; you just open it to refill it. This results in the paper not sitting and feeding properly occasionally. If you can deal with those 2 issues, this is a good printer.

Performs basic functions okay, excels at nothing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought based primarily due to salesperson recommendation, new ink technology, and sale price. This HP is replacement for an Epson Artisan which would no longer connect via Wi-Fi. I think I will like the ink technology, but nothing else about the machine impresses me. It performs basic functions satisfactorily, but excels at nothing. This HP has the feel of flimsy plastic so I am careful when dealing with the paper tray. The function icons etched onto the small buttons on top are not a contrasting color so I can not clearly make them out. Even when I shine a light on them to see, they are not intuitive. Today I made function ID labels and applied them beside each button. I believe this machine is overpriced. I sort of wish I had kept my old Artisan 730 which seemed better built and with many more features, and just used it with USB cable since its only problem was Wi-Fi capability failed. I hope the potential advantages of the HP’s new ink technology cause me to become more pleased with this purchase.

Good when it works
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one I ordered was defective out of the box. I got it to save money, but ended up paying to print my school documents while I wait for the replacement. The second is currently working (so far) hopefully it lasts more than the advertised ink-life. Setup was pretty straight forward, just following the smart app on the pc. Once you figure out how to print double-sided you're good to go. If you get one, just assume the first one you order might be defective. The quality of HP products been decreasing year after year. It is frustrating I know. But when it works it is good I think.

HP Smart Tank 7001
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think most of my issues stem from connection to wifi. I have given up and use a cord from the printer to the laptop to make sure that the printing job is completed without mishaps. It does the job, but requires patience.

It's just so so
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best attribute is the color quality of printed pages but I would say that would be just about it. It's not horrible but not mind blowing now it's easy to use copy feature is a plus as well as it being wireless print quality needs improvement.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Printing quality is amazing unfortunately for me the power chord kept unplugging itself as printer shook as it printed. A little high prices to have such a basic issue

HP Smart Tank 7000
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer is extremely difficult to set up An HP technician took 2+hours to set up- not to mention the bill for services that cost more than the printer! It does not come with a USB cord needed for the initial set up (in my case) The printer works very well once you get it connected to the computer

Acceptable Print Quality with Basic Specs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Smart Tank 7001 is yet another all-in-one tank printer. All-in-one meaning it prints, scans, and copies. Tank meaning it uses bottles of ink which give longer runtime than cartridges and are more cost effective to replenish. The look and feel is pretty similar to other tank printers I've reviewed in the past with a couple notable differences. This unit doesn't have a touch screen (it does have a basic segment display) and instead relies on physical buttons. It also has bluetooth where typically, the wireless interface is limited to WiFi. The basic setup is pretty quick. To configure wifi, you will need to use the app due to the lack of detail screen for configuring wifi settings. And interestingly enough, looking through the available buttons, there's a dedicated ID copy button, in addition to the color and back/white copy buttons. Having specific buttons for the type of copy is pretty cool. While I tend to print everything in B/W, there are times when I need to reproduce something in color and it's nice that I can handle those directly on the printer, rather than needing to go through the intermediate step of scanning then printing as I'd like. One thing you'd quickly notice is the lack of a USB cable. This really points you to wireless being the default method of using the printer. Print speeds in black/white are pretty quick, the printer meets the claimed 15ppm spec. Color prints are definitely slower and while they're good, they're not any better than my existing tank printer which does color printing a bit faster with similar results. Scanning and copying work pretty well with decent DPI on the resulting scan. Here, you just have a scan tray so scanning documents will be a single page at a time with you flipping things over to get the second side if needed. A bit higher quality than smartphone scanning, but the speed is comparable. About the only benefit is not having to contort yourself to equalize light or shadows over the document you're scanning. There's a single paper tray which holds a decent amount - 250 sheets. That's half a ream of paper so more home office geared. The printer is just all around ok. Nothing spectacular. Basic specs, acceptable speed, good quality, and no frills with accessories. I think the goal is a cheap, efficient printer that won't break the bank on ink.

Decent Printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly this All-In-One from HP was a disappointment compared to the other products that I have from HP. Setup was not the easiest for me compared to my other HP printers. The overall print quality is good, but do not expect photo quality prints. The copy/scanner function is nice, but could be faster and more ergonomic. Overall it is a decent printer but it is lacking for someone who would use this is their home office or dorm. I rated this All-In-One by HP average because of the reasons above. If the performance and ease was comparable to HP's other devices then I would have rated higher.
