    HP Spectre 2022 Review

I picked up the HP Spectre 12" Gen Alder Lake from Best buy HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.5" 3K2K Touch-Screen Laptop Intel Evo Core i7 16GB Memory 1TB SSD Nightfall Black 14-ef0013dx - Best Buy I am really impressed how much more mature this laptop has, comparing the 2020 - 2021 13.5 Gem cut Spectre 11gen. I thought I would not like the new redesign of this year’s model. I am surprised how well the design is so far. Body Chassis: I like the rounded design more than the gemcut from last year. The Gemcut at the edge of the bottom keyboard tray would dig into my wrists making long typing experiences uncomfortable. I do wish they would have put in a HDMI port and full size SD card reader. Both USB-C ports are on the right side of the laptop. Screen: The screen is OLED and looks great in both indoors and outdoors. I went outside in direct sunlight and still can see everything clearly on the screen without any issues of glare or sun brightness. Whites are white and blacks look black. Keyboard: Gone are the island keys Home, pg up, pg dn, end, but HP put these key shortcuts into the left, Up, right, and down keys. To use pg dn, simply press the down arrow key and fn key at the same time. The keyboard typing experience is really nice on this machine, the key travel has got a nice bounce to it. I do not feel cramped when typing on this machine. Touchpad: The touchpad is a bit bigger than the last year model; this is nice change as the bigger trackpad feels and performs much better than last year. Fan: The fans are very quiet I cannot hear them when they kick on. The level noise is like a whisper. What I do not like is the position of where the heat is blowing. When I have the laptop sitting on my laptop I can feel the heat blowing on to my legs. It is not hot, but warm air that makes it noticeable and slightly uncomfortable for period of time feeling warm are blowing on my legs. Battery: Battery Life is an impressive 10 hours of use, that is checking emails, watching YouTube or Netflix content, typing using Microsoft word. I can say that for larger demanding tasks like playing games or video or photo editing will take a larger toll on the batter life off the charger. Speakers: There are only two bottom firing speakers, I opened the machine to see for myself I only see two of them and they sound much better than last year quad speakers. Bang & Olufsen has finally put in some good speakers. If they can put in the next model quad speakers that would be nice. These two speakers have a good mid to highs in the range of sound. There is a lack of base. Pen Stylus: is the same nothing has changed in this design or performance, the pen works fine for the tapping and writing. Performance: Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1255U 1.70 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) The tasks that I throw at it, it can handle with good performances. HP went with the i7- 1255U because this laptop was designed for more battery usage out of it. I am ok with that tradeoff as I prefer a machine that can get me through at least 10 hours per day of usage. I cannot stand the laptops that prefer performance over battery life which means you will need to search for a wall outlet quicker to keep your laptop going. I like this processor.

Perfect balance of performance, size and weight. Super bright tall aspect screen. Screen resolution is color true and easy to read. Runs fast, cool and is ever so portable. included pen makes screen writing simple. Included case holds the pen. Love this case as it protects the small machine keeping nicks, and scratches away. Power adapter has very nice design making storage a snap. keyboard is well porportioned and typing is easy with few mis-keys. Came down from a 15.6 Dell and could not be happier.

I love the layout of the keyboard and how it feels when I type. I drove to be able to get this PC as it wasn't available where we originally had planned to pick it up. The USB power location is perfect. Both back corners have the perfect spot to put the USB C charging port and the speaker headset (if you still use one) I love the slim feel of the laptop. the display is beautiful. I purchased the Dell XPS top-notch model and returned it for this Beautiful HP Spectre x360. It did come with a pen which for me is a bonus. I am leaving my MacBook Pro to go back to windows and I was looking for something I would be happy with. I use it for my studies. I am in University and need a great computer that can keep up with me and my disabilities which runs different programs and I love having a ton of windows in different things opened. I also found out I can share or make two screens with my iPad so for me, this is another huge bonus!!! I have had the HP for approx 2 weeks today and I am delighted with my purchase. The 1TB SSD will help me with keeping all of my photos until I back them up as well. Space is a lot and the amount of RAM and Graphics is important to me. I love wanted a backlight keyboard which also is a great feature for me. The battery can actually keep up with me as well I can get two days before I need to charge.

The HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.5" 3K2K Touch-Screen Laptop is a powerful and versatile device that offers a lot of features for users who are looking for a high-end laptop. Here are some of the pros and cons of this laptop, along with the issue with the screen fading color: Pros: - The laptop features the Intel Evo platform and is powered by a Core i7 processor, making it a powerful device that can easily handle demanding tasks. - The 16GB memory and 1TB SSD offer ample storage and speed for users who need to store and retrieve large files quickly. - The included pen is an excellent feature for artists and creatives who need to sketch and draw on the go. - The Nightfall Black color gives the laptop a sleek and sophisticated look that is sure to turn heads. Cons: - The laptop is expensive, which may not be affordable for some users. - The battery life could be better, with the laptop lasting around 8 hours on a single charge. - The laptop is quite heavy, which may make it difficult to carry around for extended periods of time. - There is no clear indication of the battery percentage of the Pen feature as well that would have been a great feature to add, because it will at least help me gauge when I need to recharge it. In addition to these pros and cons. the screen on the laptop seems to be fading color over time. This is a concerning issue, as it can affect the display quality and overall user experience. It is important to note that this issue may not be present in all devices and might just be only in mine, but it is something to be aware of before making a purchase. Overall, the HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.5" 3K2K Touch-Screen Laptop is a powerful and versatile device that offers a lot of features for users who are looking for a high-end laptop. While there are some drawbacks, such as the high price and heavy weight, the laptop's strengths outweigh its weaknesses. However, the issue with the screen fading color is something that potential buyers should be aware of before making a purchase. and it does not run all the adds properly like kindle and audible. for the price its ehh

This is a great computer on specs, and also the build quality is superb. HOWEVER, after 2 months of use, the laptop is experiencing several issues: won't turn on, monitor won't turn off when closing lid, trackpad and keyboard will randomly stop working

I had this for a week. I got it for drawing, the program I have doesn’t need a lot and it’s been freezing and saying I need more ram. My old hp hadn’t given me problems when I 1st got into it and it had 1/2 the ram this one has! I can’t imagine how it will preform when I do some 2D animation which again I was able to do that on my old one but who knows with this new one. I don’t think I should have to play around with settings to make sure I have enough ram

My experience with the HP - Spectre x360 has been nothing short of exceptional. The 2-in-1 13.5" 3K2K Touch-Screen Laptop combines the power of an Intel Evo Platform Core i7 and 16GB of memory, making multitasking a breeze, whether it's for work, study, or leisure. The 1TB SSD offers ample storage, ensuring that speed and space are never issues. One of the standout features for me has been the touch-screen display. Its crisp, vibrant visuals bring content to life, enhancing both productivity and entertainment experiences. The included pen is a boon for creativity, allowing for seamless note-taking, drawing, or navigating through applications. The laptop's design deserves a special mention. Its Nightfall Black finish is not just visually appealing but also feels premium to the touch, complementing its robust build quality. The Spectre x360 is remarkably lightweight and portable, making it an ideal companion for those who are always on the go. Battery life has been impressive, easily lasting through a day of mixed usage without needing a charge. This reliability is crucial for long work sessions or when traveling. However, no product is without its drawbacks. The high-resolution screen, while stunning, can sometimes drain the battery faster during heavy usage. Additionally, the laptop can get quite warm under intense operations, though it's never been to a concerning degree in my experience. In conclusion, the HP Spectre x360 is a testament to what modern laptops can achieve, offering a perfect blend of performance, aesthetics, and versatility. Whether you're a professional needing a powerful device or a student looking for a reliable companion, the Spectre x360 stands out as a top choice.

I brought it refurbished but this is probably the best overall ultra book at its rice point. crisp 2.8K OLED screen, decent battery considering the screen. I use it mainly to write papers and access my EHR through a VPN and photo editing. i get about 6 hours on a full charge and continuous general usage. keyboard well laid out, though I do miss that the page and home/end keys are not separate. It about the same size and weight as a mac book air 2 . The stylus and touch screen are a welcome bonus. still has a USB A port and a headphone jack !

I really wanted upgrade my original Surface Book and this laptop really fit the bill. I love how light it is. The screen has the same dimensions as my old Surface Book but in a smaller and lighter package. I primarily use it for documents and the internet so it's definitely powerful enough for me. Movies look great on the OLED screen. And the pen is great too. Not a gamer so I can't help there but as a work computer it can't be beat.
