Don't Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Hp stream 14-inch laptop, which contains 4GB, 32 eMMc flash memory, and 1 year subscription of office 365 personal; through best buy online site. On March 12th, 2018 I received the computer, during this week the computer was working fine .The following week I experienced minor issues until they became a frequent occurrence during the third week. The laptop began to freeze after startup preventing the use of internet explorer. When I finally did get internet explorer to work, it would stop minutes later. Exiting one app and switching to the next was difficult. On three occasion the computer started to glitch until I was force to shut the computer down. I decided to return the computer to best buy on April 2nd, 2018 because of all of this. I was told by one the employee I could not because it was past the return date. I explained to her there was no return date listed on my receipt but only where and how to return the item. Her response remained the same and suggested that I can have geek squad repair it since I am under warranty. I agreed to her suggestion. I was told a diagnostic test had to be performed before they can ship my laptop for repair. My response was okay that is fine. I handed him my laptop and explained my issue with it. He checked the storage on my computer and informed me that my storage was full. He further explained most of the storage was used up by programs either installed to run the computer or by office 365. He gave me a list of programs that I should delete that would allow my computer to run smoothly. Out of fear that I would delete the wrong program ,I contacted the manufacture (HP). They made it clear that I can not return or exchange the laptop. Again I was told my storage was full, I could purchase a hard drive from their store or have them repair it through geek squad. Looking to ship my laptop for repair by the manufacturer ,I made another trip to best buy. I was told I could not since it was a storage issue. He suggested again that I delete unnecessary programs. I did as I was told and bought a micro sd. The computer was able to function better until Saturday 26th of May, 2018. I am now experiencing new technical issues where I am unable to use my computer at all because the login screen remains black preventing from login. I would advised those thinking about buying this computer do not I have had problems every since I bought the laptop. Dealing with both HP and geek squad has been a complete waste of time and money . Never again would I buy another HP computer .

awful awful awful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.hands down one of the worst laptops we've ever bought. I bought for my kids who are in high school for simple school things and to use for netflix or youtube in their spare time. Theyre both super slow, and one of them stopped working after just 1 month. Don't buy it. We took it to best buy and they sent it to geeksquad, we payed $35 to ship it.. and geeksquad told us it had $600 worth of damage.. ridiculous. We only had it for a month and my daughter didn't even use it everyday. Ha! What a joke.

I don’t not recommend this laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my freshman year of college. It was good for the first few weeks but after a while it started saying “low on space” so I tried deleting some things (even though nothing was on there) and it wouldn’t let me. It constantly either froze or blacked out and I lost a couple papers and had to redo them. I do not recommend this laptop to anyone.

Real Step Backwards
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older version of this, a Stream 13 which runs Win 8. Works like a charm. My wife wanted a new laptop and she was so happy with her old HP Stream that she wanted the same thing. Period. Hey, the current model has a bigger screen and costs the same, wow, what a deal. Well not so fast. Well three weeks after buying this she wants me to bury it in the backyard. CPU is pegged at 100% all the time with no applications running. Its all Windows 10 update service. so I killed that off and it was okay til you tried to run a browser, than it pegged to 100% again. Withing a few minutes of booting with the CPU at full capacity the thing starts getting physically hot. Browser performance is awful, hangs up, crashes. This piece of junk can't handle basic web browsing! My instinct is to blame it all on a combination of Windows 10 plus all the included bloatware plus and under powered processor to run all that. Or maybe the one I bought was just a lemon. But a super hot laptop that has a CPU pegged at 100% all the time is useless. It's going back tomorrow.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate this laptop! Locks up, screen freezes, zooms in on its own. VERY SLOW. Somehow it is set up with my sons name when I used mine! Seems like it already had a virus. I’m extremely disappointed!!!

Terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The operating system takes up all the space on this laptop. You cannot do anything on it. Even with deleting everything I had, the operating system took up so much space that I could not do a factory reset. Word of advice: don’t waste your money on this piece of junk.

No memory
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought this laptop for my mother who has never owned one. I figured it was slim and small enough for her to "learn" on and then we can upgrade her in a year. When I reviewed this HP, however, no one informed anyone that it updates every week without erasing the previous update in order to have room for other things. So all if its memory it used up on updates and then it starts to take forever to finish the update and you can't store any of your personal things on it. I would not recommend this product to even a grade schooler. I love HP products but this one is a bust.

Junk even for $200
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is absolute junk. I bought 2 of them for my kids. They are very light users and only access the internet for school and movies etc. One the battery dies after 6 months and the other the mother board went bad within 9 months. Bestbuy Replaced the one with the mother board issues. The one with the battery issue I just purchased a new one online for $50 as HP was too difficult to deal with. BEFORE YOU BUY any HP product do this; go online and try to find a live person to help on their website. They do everything in their power to never help the customer. Now google support number and call. If you tell them you own a laptop the auto system will direct you back to the website. If you hold a bit longer you will be told an agent will assist you. Now the agent is going to have a heavy accent and ask for a lot of serial numbers etc. These will not be easy unless you have a magnifying glass as they are printed in dark ink on a dark computer in size 3 font. Look for yourself at the laptop before you buy. Now if you give them the number they go off the manufacture date for the warranty unless you want to wait and email them the receipt and wait for a call that never comes. I have owned about 20 HP products and in the end they all fail very very early. I may be slow but I have learned my lesson with HP. Cheap products and no support.
