Works well but one problem.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cassette adapter works great. It sounds good in my car and better than previous adapters I’ve had. The only problem is you can’t turn your volume all the way up on your phone. Maybe it’s just me or my car but my phone can only be halfway up on the volume before the sound is off. It’s just a minor problem, but can be fixed by just turning the car radio up more. Otherwise great product. Would recommend.

Worth the open box price….
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a few dollars cheaper as an open box item to replace a another cassette adapter that had stopped working. The chord is super long, so when my kids want to manage the playlist it doesn’t pull on the unit, so that’s an improvement over the other 2 we’ve used in the last 10 years. I prefer a chorded version over bluetooth, it’s usually has better sound quality…..just our experience. We’re keeping our old school factory unit in our 4runner, so this works great so far.

Music to my Ears
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does what it's supposed to do but the speaker wire is very thin. There is a space consideration but even a few millimeters would contribute to the longevity of the device. All-in-all, the price is right and of course Best Buy is a great resource. I use it so I can hear music from my phone, as well as, to hear my GPS give me wrong directions.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So i had one of these back in the day for my first car, which was a '91 Buick Regal and it CHANGED MY LIFE. I was the first person in high school (circa 2006) to have iPod compatibility in my car. It worked perfectly, and I still hold a fond place for it in my heart to this day. Now onto this bad boy. I had to go on a long trip recently in an old van, and said van did not have an aux input or Bluetooth, but totally had a tape player. SCORE! No mixed CDs or scanning the radio or bringing a Bluetooth speaker! This thing works. It's not going to blow you away sonically, but it's not supposed to do that. It's supposed to allow you to plug in some type of device with a headphone jack into another device that has a tape player and functioning speakers. AND IT DID THAT. IT DID IT TO THE MAX. By this, I mean that for the hours I used it, it worked well and I didn't notice any super appreciable loss of audio quality. So should you get one? Here are some basic questions to ask yourself: - Do I have an old car with a tape player? - If so, does that tape player work? - Do I have some sort of device with a headphone jack that can play music? - Is it some sort of mp3 player or smart phone/tablet? - Does it have a CD player? - If so, do I REALLY want to carry around a 10 lb case of mixed CDs? - If you answered yes to one or more of these questions (preferably in a top-down order), then I would recommend getting this. It's seriously a no-brainer.

Clever tool and alternative to FM transmitter
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia™ - 3' 3.5mm Cassette Adapter - Multi is a really simple device. There is not a lot to it and the cord is very thin, but it does the job. I have had these in the past that get stuck in the cassette player or you have to flip them every now and again to keep the music going and this one does not have that malfunction. The sound quality could be better, but it does what it is meant to do. I was glad these are still around and it is still the best option over FM transmitter devices. You do not have to bother with your antenna on your car with this option, which is a life saver.

Gets the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cassette players quality is what gets to me the most. The sound is good, and the brand is one i trust, but the cord that plugs into the MP3 audio jack is extremely flimsy. I have been looking for one that has a strong, preferably braided cord. For the price, this product is worth it, but if you live in wisconsin, youll definitely be replacing by the end of winter. The freezing temperatures freezing the wire, then you using it to plug in will wear the rubber outside down to the wire quickly. Recommended to warm up your car before playing music :)

Works perfectly, price was right!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My commuter car is a 2000 Toyota Corolla which has a cassette player but no auxiliary input for audio devices. The Insignia cassette adapter lets me listen to my iPhone music library with high fidelity. This is so much better than any FM wireless device I have used, and the price was right. I highly recommend this adapter.

Decent Option With One Drawback
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous tape deck adapter quit and so I picked this one up as a replacement for use in the car. This adapter delivers solid sound quality and volume for a reasonable price. Another plus is that the cable on this adapter is better insulated than the model I owned previously. With the old adapter I would get a lot of audible RF interference from my cell phone (whenever the phone contacted the cell network it would introduce loud buzzes and clicks) and that is no longer an issue. The major drawback is that this unit is producing a lot of self-noise that is quite loud in volume. That means if the volume is low or music isn't playing you'll hear a constant and obnoxious low frequency hum. So far the trade-off for me is worth it as my music or podcasts usually mask the hum and the lack of RF interference is a huge plus. This will get the job done if you still don't have an onboard aux in your car.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item was great and it was not something carmen to find anywhere but Best Buy came through as usual and they always have quality stuff it was very easy to use and I don’t know what I would do without it Some people believe that insignia please get towards cheap stuff but I think that the items are inexpensive and is a great quality I would definitely use them again

Better than expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has actually worked better than expected. I read some of the other reviews and it sounds like there has been some issues with the sound quality and the tape getting stuck and wanting to reverse or eject, and other random issues. For me the sound quality is actually very good. My only complaint is that I can hear this tape make noise inside my cassette player all the time so unless I turn up my music loud enough to mask it, I keep hearing this noise in the background. otherwise so far it has held up well.

LOUD!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works. You can hear the gears turning when low volume. Sounds better than blue tooth over radio. Way louder. 10x louder. Wish bluetooth worked as well as this adapter for volume . Yes my cell is at full volume.

Hands Free Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this to talk hands free on my phone while I'm in the car. It works great. I am able to use the speakers in my car to hear the person on the phone. Then I just clip my phone onto the visor so that the microphone picks up my voice. I wish I had known about this years ago.
