Was a little skepticle about a ventless dryer at first, but seems to get the job done of drying the clothes efficiently. Good size compacity of clothes you can fit in the dryer too. Only complaint is the water pump, in the dryer, went bad after only 1 year of use. Thankfully, I am a totaltech member and the repair was made under the 2 year extended warranty coverage. I would only recommend purchasing this type of a dryer if you are a totaltech member and have the extended warranty coverage. That is the reason for a 3 star review.

Great unit for a smaller space.

This dryer is VENTLESS! Yes, no vent to the outside. It uses the new technology to remove the moisture with, essentially, a reverse heat pump, and collects it into a bin in the top left of the unit (which you must dump after every load). However, you can also opt to install the optional drain line which allows the dryer to drain directly into the same drain as your washer and then you never have to empty the bin. It takes a little longer to dry than the old dryer (hence 4/5 stars), but is much more energy efficient, and all the air that used to leave your home (and come in from the outside and be either heated or cooled) no longer exits. The unit is smaller than most (hence 3/5 for load size), and is designed to fit in a laundry closet with small clearances beside and behind the unit. Just what we needed.

When dryer was delivered and unboxed I said to myself; Oh, it is so small; stand is not included. My washer with the capacity twice larger, standing next to the dryer emphasized dryer size. However, how pleasantly I was surprised after opening front door; having capacity of 4.4 cuFt could fit my king size dow comforter. However, I did not have yet the opportunity to dry it. However, I already utilized dryer to dry my beach size cotton towels mixed with my cotton shirts. I simply selected towels settings starting drying process and I walked away. I am not a person staying next to the dryer waiting for dryer to finish drying cycle; I come back when I am ready. I have to notice that the dryer was not overloaded. When I came back after 2 hours, I live in Puerto Rico, my towels were still warm. To my very pleasant surprise cotton shirt did not have many wrinkles and my towels were fluffy and very soft in touch. This wasn’t happening with my previous electric dryer, because as I suspect towels when dried were exposed to much higher temperatures and shorter drying time making them quite stiff. Since the drain in the room my washer is higher than dryer discharge opening I have to empty collected water by hand, which is not bad at all, after each drying cycle. Also filters have to he removed and cleaned as in any other dryers; it is easy to remove and reinstall these filters. Also what I really like is dryer electrical power consumption. Even so drying duration is much longer than with my previous electric dryer the electric bill I just received is relatively 4 times smaller than when I was using my old dryer. Dryer’s noice level, when working is noticeable, but not excessive. In the last few months I purchased other Insignia appliances; dishwasher and beverage cooler that I like a lot, because they look and work great. In fact beverage cooling temperature is the lowest by about 2 deg. F from all coolers I considered for purchasing, which to me is critically important. I do not know how would I feel about these 2 appliances in a year or two, but for now I am happy with them. As to the dryer it gets 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for now; future will show if my satisfaction will last Note: There are only me and my girlfriend in the household. If your household is larger than you need to take capacity if this dryer; 4.4 cuFt into the account.

Would give 5 stars, but I don't really think the stacking kit is the best design or that the instruction manual is clear. But the dryer is perfect! Great compact, ventless dryer! Love that I can just put the condenser line in the drainline in the wall for the washer and never have to dump the resevoir! Lots of cycle choices and quick drying time for a compact, ventless!

Very conflicted on how to rate this item, Best Buy may be mostly to blame as to this. I live in a condo and have to get a ventless dryer. The one that I got rid of was set up to drain directly into my floor drain. This dryer wasn’t set up this way even though I requested it, I was told it wasn’t possible by the installer. Later I saw that it can be set up that way in the instruction manual. I called Best Buy- they scheduled two more appointments to no avail- the “installers” don’t know how/ have the means to do it… when it’s clearly an option. I was told I was sent a master/ senior installer who still couldn’t figure it out… I have one more final attempt this Friday. The dryer dries way better than my prior dryer the clothing smells really good! My issue is who wants to keep emptying a water compartment? It has the option to drain directly and I want it set up that way! I’ve been totally frustrated with this purchase.

Takes way too long to dry

It’s nice that we don’t have to figure out a way to vent the unit, all we have to do is empty the water reservoir after every cycle. For a compact dryer it can hold a lot of clothes in it as well. The problem is that it takes so long to dry. The timer is wrong on the unit no matter what. It will say that it takes 1 hour and 15 to dry a cycle but will actually take 2 hours. But since you are at home you can just relax, just don’t hope to knock out a big day of laundry in one day. I would recommend this item only if you would save money from figuring out how to vent a regular dryer.

Works good for small space. Takes a little bit longer to dry but also uses way less energy. Fits a pretty good load of clothes. Probably wouldn't be great for a big family but for one or 2 people it's good.

This dryer is perfect for my apartment closet no vent needed. I have it hosed to drain the water along with the washer but you can have it drain in to the unit if that isn’t an option. Has a ton of setting and works just as well as any other dryer.

We like it its a Nice quiet washing machine. Got a lot of room and washes. The onlything we are not sure is its dispensing mechanism. It doesnt seem to be dispensing the detergents at all. But its a basic model. We are okay to just pour the detergent evenly ourselves.

Dryer works fine. It’s a heat pump dryer and works a bit differently than a normal dryer. We can dry a decent load of towels in about an hour and a half. We use it in the basement to dry items like dog bedding we don’t want in our regular set and this works fine for that. It’s fairly quiet and the clothes come out dry and I didn’t have to drill a hole in the house for a vent. What more can you ask for. It could use a pedestal if you’re not going to stack it. It’s very small.

Washer and dryer installed. Noticed a stress crack on the top right corner of the dryer, but figured the unit was good because it looked like a manufacturing issue but may have been dropped before it was loaded onto the delivery truck. The fan does not turn on...it clicks and makes a buzzing noise. Best buy won't do anything within 24 hours and insignia looks like they want best buy to just do a warranty swap.

I have only had the dryer about a month and I am single and disabled so it doesn't get used a lot and I am only submitting this to be entered for the $400 drawing. I haven't really had it long enough to test durability or all the different functions. But as far as a Hear Pump Style/Condensing Dryer Goes it works Equally well to the Samsung I had Previously without the cracked base that leaked all over my floor and Samsung refusing to go or their warranty and telling me to return it to the store myself. I will come back and edit this later if the app allows me.
