I got this processor for my personal computer build. It's great for multitasking, video editing, live streaming and even gaming. It has 4 cores and 8 threads. Definitely a bear buy.

I purchased this processor after extensive review of the price/performance ratio between some of the newer Intel processors out there. I decided against going the AMD route because, at the time of writing, AMD is struggling to keep up with the advancements that Intel has made. The reason I chose this particular processor is because it's simply the best one for gaming and Twitch streaming right now. Some of the newer 5th gen processors are far too expensive (the 5960X is a thousand dollars ATM) and don't give much in the way of performance gains for that price. In addition, DDR4 RAM for the Broadwell processors is similarly prohibitively expensive. After purchasing and installing the 4790k, I ran several stress tests and the results are spectacular. Using a Corsair GTX h100i it remained below 55C in all my tests and didn't once need to shut down. I've never had a computer this fast before. My 512 Samsung Pro 850 SSD helps, and my boot times are under three seconds. I highly recommend this product.

Looking to build a fast and powerful PC but not looking to spend a ton on the path of a LGA 2011 socket CPU and board? Then I definitely recommend the i7-4790K CPU. If you get the right LGA 1150 board and CPU cooler you can overclock this CPU to even faster speeds. Plus with the right board you will be able to upgrade to the next gen CPU (Broadwell) when the time is right.

It is as fast as it can get unless you want to spend much more to get the LGA2011 based CPU. Great for media rendering, visualization.

I picked up this processor for a new gaming build and it has handled everything I have thrown at it so far, with no overclocking. I plan to open up the overclocking down the road so I went with aftermarket cooling. The processor is a champ. All the processing power you need and the reliability of Intel.

This processor is very fast and runs efficiently under anything I've thrown at it without a single hiccup. If you plan on gaming with your Pc and plan to stream than this is the Cpu for you and you won't be disappointed. With this being a 4790K the k meaning it's unlocked so you can overclock the Cpu with ease. I've reached 4.6Ghz safely and stable.

Bought this for a personal home computer build that is used for gaming, internet browsing and also a HTPC. The 4790K seems to be powerful enough so far to handle anything I throw at it. It is capable of overclocking but so far I haven't seen a need for it to be overclocked. I didn't use the stock CPU cooler that came with the processor because I also use it as a HTPC so I wanted to make it quieter so I replaced it with Noctua NH-D15. I didn't want to go with water cooling because of rare chance of leaks but this system is extremely quiet also because of the video card and PSU fans don't run unless under heavy load which makes a great HTPC. I haven't had any issues with this handling watching TV (hdhomeruns) while watching youtube and playing light games and also recording shows in the background on multi monitor setup. So overall this processor seems to handle everything I bought it for and more.

Got a fast gaming motherboard and this thing is moving. High quality gaming when used with a high end video card. Remember it is all about the board you put it on

This processor has taken everything I have thrown at it and come through with flying colors. Heat and power usage has been low for the speed it provides.

The 4790k is amazing! and still will be for a good while, definately a top choice as far as processors! If you overclock....amazing! :-)

Solid choice for gaming. I paid 290.11 in 2016. Current value has risen to 359.99. competes well with many 6 core processors. Gets hot and would only run it with an aftermarket cooler even without overclock. OC'd stable at 4.7ghz on noctua D15 air cooler.

It may be a tad bit more expensive but definitely worth it

Title says it all really. I don't plan on overclocking my new build but bought this processor in case I wanted to down the road. Combined this with a Gigabyte Black board and 32GB of Corsair Dominator memory and it absolutely FLYS!

I have this processor overclocked and cooled with a water cooler. It is very stable. I have not had a single issue. I suspect I could push it past the 4400 MHZ I have it running at easily. At this point, I really don't need more power. Maybe after a longer burn in period.

This is the king of Socket 1150 CPUs. It is amazingly fast. If you are building a power PC, then you should consider this CPU and you will love it.

This is a great intel cpu... one of the better ones you can get and still within most people's budget. If you want a top performing cpu and want a pc build to last for years this is the cpu for you.

perfect. awesome love this processor. best in its class. Was going to get the i5820k but didn't want to spend the difference on HDDR4 ram. I'm a gamer so its perfect for what i need it to be.

A very fast cpu for the money. A little cooler running than my older 4770K cpu. I would highly recommend it to others.
