Is a good value if you won’t want to overclock.

Great value if you don’t need to overclock. Multi tasks like a champ. My only issues is I jumped on this value CPU when I should have waited for one with more capabilities. If you not sure what to do with your PC this is a great CPU to fill the slot for the moment. I can run 3 AAA games at ultra settings (the rtx 2080ti may be helping here) YouTube and download 2 games at the same time with this CPU. Only reason I want something better is because I need to get a better motherboard to support the i9 9900k and some higher frequency ram as I have a 240hz monitor is like to keep buttery smooth refresh rates on. Most games stay locked at 240 FPS but someone the more taxing ones like Rust I sit at 100fps. Now I know my GPU isn’t the issue here so that is why I plan to upgrade to a new motherboard that supports the i9 9900k so I can overclock and support 3200hz ram compared to the 2400hz ram I am running now. As far as I can tell this is the best 8th gen CPU short of the i7 8700k value wise. If you don’t plan on pushing mind blowing stats it should work for you.

Great move by Intel to keep increasing the core counts (physical and logical). This performs very well for intensive tasks and multi-tasking. Best when paired with 16+ GB of RAM. Hardly ever experience throttling, or hear the stock cooler spin-up. Cannot comment on gaming or video performance, but based on experience with Skylake and Kaby Lake processors, expect it to perform very well. Note: used Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound instead of Intel's.

Amazing speed and pretty decent price (would be nice if a little cheaper). I definitely recommend this processor. Only issue you may encounter is the chip runs a bit hot compared to older models, so serious gamers and those using CPU intensive applications will need to upgrade your cooling system.

Wanted an i7-8700k, they had none in stock as usual, wanted a 6500k, they didn't have that either! the last one they had (and last actual item in stock) was the this one. I needed a CPU so I took the plunge and got this one, fully knowing what I was getting. It works great, as expected. 6 Cores, 12 Threads and with the HT it ended up suiting my needs more than sufficiently. Now a month or two later, I still look to getting the 'K' version however this one works just as well. A little slower but for intense programs like Photoshop, Blender etc it is more than enough to stroll through these programs without a hiccup.

This is obviously an amazing processor, the only reason i am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is if you purchase the 8700 instead of the 8700k because it comes with a fan and you have no plans to overclock you need to be aware that the stock fan cannot handle turbo mode at all. If i ran a stress test with turbo mode on the temps would reach 95-100c.

This processor is a beast. Goes in and out of stock at best buy a lot because of very high demand. Great deal for 280 plus tax when on sale. Works great with a BE QUIET cooler.

Not a big time OCing person, it made a lot of games and work loads a lot better than my last CPU which was a i7-4790. Also a stepping g syp e to get into OCing with an upgrade path to the i9-9900k when I feel the need to upgrade again since having a z390 mobo.

I'm really happy with the performance of this Processor. I upgraded my PC to allow for using an Oculus Rift and this sure does handle that task well. I definitely recommend this processor. Only issue you may encounter is the chip runs a bit hot compared to older models, so you may have to upgrade your cooling system as needed.

Construct a lightning-fast motherboard with this six-core Intel Core i7 processor. Its 12MB of cache provides fast data retrieval to speed up operations, and its low 65W power consumption keeps components cool. Crank this eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processor up to its turbo frequency of 4.6GHz to run large programs.
