Absolute screamer. This is an enthusiast class chip, it runs hot, fast, and needs someone who knows how to handle, and appreciate it. Water cooling recommended if planning on overclocking. This will be paired with a 3090 RTX I was able to get through a Best Buy drop for one of the most powerful work/play systems possible today.

Wow. I've never had a flagship processor before and I'm glad this was my first. What a powerhouse of a CPU! I have it pushed to 5.3ghz in gaming and it hasn't slowed down a bit. I can't believe how smooth everything is! Battlefields IV and V, Cyberpunk, Control, Crysis 2 (I haven't gotten past the C's) all play beautifully. It's idling at 31 degrees, gets pretty hot when it really gets going (76 is the max I've gotten it, during Cyberpunk as it were). It seems more stable overclocked! My Asus motherboard is handling it perfectly. I couldn't be happier. I'm glad I didn't wait for Gen 11! There's no way it could be better than this. I got it on sale and it is worth every penny.

I was able to snag one of these when they came back into stock and it is the best gaming CPU on the market today bar none. I am overclocking this to 5.3GHz all cores with amazing results. Do not let the "intel runs to hot" stuff scare you away. On stock clock speed my idle temps are 28C on a Corsair H150i XT Pro AIO w/ a custom fan curve set. And AVG about 45C-50C while gaming. When overclocked to 5.3GHz i get idle temps of 34C and 60C-62C while gaming. Running this CPU on a higher end motherboard (MSI MEG Z490 ACE). If you plan to overclock, you will want a higher end board with better VRAM such as the MEG Z490 ACE. It's has a premium price but it delivers premium performance!

The best processor in the market for gaming and performs great for normal work tasks. Had a fun time Overclocking it and got some pretty nice results. It does produce a lot of heat so I went with the Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX Liquid CPU Cooler — White plus an 2 additional intake 120mm fans and 1 120mm exhaust fan for a total of 6 fans plus the Liquid CPU cooler. The processor is the fastest processor stock in the market for gaming and that's not even with Overclocking. Love Intel and Ryzen just wasn't for me.

This one was really hard for me I love this CPU but my issue is you can get a number of other options for less money and the performance hit you take is almost nothing. You may be asking yourself what do I mean well I put this i9 up against an i5 10th gen and the performance between the two is so little of a gap you can laugh and throw a stick at it but the hit to your wallet is HUGE! I would recommend anyone looking at this one considers looking up benchmarks and don't just buy this because more is always better. Most people will not even noticed the change in speed. The one place this does shine is when you do some hard overclocking. I can still recommend this as im currently stable overclocking this to 6.2Ghz.

Late review but better late than never! Absolutely a BEAST of a CPU! The value of the thing is amazing for anyone still on this generation. Which I see zero reason to switch anytime soon if you do have this. I’ve been running mine at 5.2 All Core since I’ve had it pretty much and it doesn’t struggle AT ALL. Doesn’t get hot either.. cooled with a Corsair H115i Elite Capellix. Idles 33-38c depending on ambient temps.. 50-60c during games. Stress tests around 70-77c MAX. Also for 1440p gaming (which IMO is the best/sweet spot, what I play on) even to this day, at 5.2 All core it’s still top 5 best CPU’s for gaming at 1440. I also have this paired with a 3090 FE and 32Gb (2x16) G.Skill Trident Royal 16-16-16-36 speed ram and 1000 Watt EVGA Platinum PSU to handle things with lots of room.

Great processor, mine overclocks to 5.2 GHz all cores at 1.325V with nice Cinebench R20 single (544) and multi-core (6744) scores. Props to Best Buy for actually having it in stock and not listing it above msrp as other retailers have when supply was limited. Lastly, with AMD Zen 3 on the horizon, those would be a better buy in terms of raw performance as Intel is still using their ancient 14nm process. Early benchmarks show Zen 3 to yield much better single-core performance (i.e. 600+ in R20) than what Intel has to offer at the moment, which would be better for gaming, etc.

I have this in my new gaming PC, and it's worked great. I've been pushing it pretty hard, and this processor has yet to be the bottleneck in the system. Always has enough juice for what I'm doing. Will run pretty warm if using Intel stock fan (which i don't believe is included anyway) but it's pretty manageable. I've got an aftermarket air cooler (bequiet dark rock pro 4) and decent case cooling (nothing crazy though) and haven't thermal throttled once. Liquid cool if you'd like, but i haven't found it necessary. All in all, plenty happy

I am a tech enthusiast. I'm running EVGA's DARK K|NGP|N z490 board with G.Skill 4800mHz ram and a 3090. I had previously only been able to get my hands on the i7 variant, and I thought it was a great chip. That's until I put the i9 in the socket and found out what I was missing. The i9 ran more cores at higher clock rates with lower voltage. My former 48 ring limit became 52, the core clock went from 51 all-core to 54 all-core (55 stable @ 1.41 volts), and I was able to run my ram at cl14 (stable as a rock at 4800mHz cl15). Have you heard the '10 percent happier" concept? Well, by running the cache and ram at those speeds I dropped system latency by 10 percent across the board. The i9 may look like it's only 1-2% better than the i7 on paper, but with those improvements in memory speed it's more than 10%. That said, the new generation just came out.

If you're a 1080p 240hz gamer or just a gamer looking for ultimate performance. This is it. I was debating between the i7 10700k and this one and ended up making the right choice. The i7 wouldn't have been able to sustain the same frames that I wanted. Nearly every game besides WARZONE runs at my frame rate cap of 230 FPS which keeps all my games in g-sync range. Valorant never has the FPS move for a second off 230. Same for CSGO, Overwatch etc. If you're going this route make sure you have a nice motherboard and some high speed memory to pair it with. All of these will factor in what type of performance you get. I'm super super happy with the purchase and have no regrets. Got the exact performance I was looking for.

If you’re looking for the best gaming CPU it’s hard to beat Intel 10 series unless you’re the type to get hung up on price/performance. I’m a pc enthusiast I simply want the best and I personally am willing to pay for it. I understand not everyone is and there are more affordable options that aren’t that far behind this CPU. If you’re more into multitasking then AMD is honestly probably a better choice but if you’re looking for pure gaming nirvana then I always suggest Intel and the highest one you can afford.

Just upgraded from an i7 to this i9 for my gaming PC. Wow, what a difference is speed, smoothness, and quick booting up time! Intel is known for being the better processors for gaming and this processor does not let you down. Highly recommend for your gaming or everyday use personal computer.
