Lightweight amd very versatile. You need to download app and move volume on bluetooth slection up all the way to hear speaker at full potential. Every selection on app has where you can manage the volume. Sound great and battery lasts a good amount of time. Also gets radio stations good with antenna supplied.

Works well, all the complaints of it being "quiet" are obviously from people who didnt understand that you need to download app and turn your BT volume to max. It is very loud. ¼ jack works well for guitar input. Sound quality is surprisingly good for a speaker in this price range. Would definitely recommend.

Nice Speaker with a major flaw

I truly wanted to love this device. It ticks so many boxes: solid construction, ports for plugging in guitars and microphones, onboard controls, and the option to mount it on a stand. However, it falls short in the most critical area: sound quality. The volume is surprisingly low, especially compared to other, more affordable speakers from the same brand. I read reviews suggesting that downloading the app could help to increase the volume, but I noticed no difference. While I had high hopes for this product, it ultimately let me down in a major way.

I’m seriously impressed with the ION Trouper 100. As someone who frequently hosts events and workshops, this speaker has quickly become my go-to setup. The sound is crystal clear, with rich bass and enough volume to fill a room or even an outdoor space without distortion. The built-in multi-channel mixer is a game-changer. I can easily connect a mic, instruments, or other audio sources without needing extra equipment. Bluetooth connectivity is seamless and reliable, making it super convenient to stream from my phone or tablet. It’s portable but feels solid and durable, and the battery life lasts long. The Trouper 100 delivers every time. Highly recommend for creatives, educators, or anyone needing serious sound on the go!

Surprisingly Loud speaker with an OK microphone. I used one of my own microphones and it improved the quality a lot more. The speaker is light and has a pretty good build.

Physical design looks good. I loved the echo/reverb feature. This small unit gives me the echo sound effects that I want on a system. It is great for karaoke. Unfortunately, volume is too low, even using the apps. I wish they put more power on this unit. Battery life is normal. Other than the sound is good, volume is just too low. This unit is okay for minimum listening.

Thanks for your review! While we're thrilled to hear you've enjoyed the Trouper 100's onboard features, we're sorry to hear that the output power did not meet the needs of your use case. For high-volume needs, such as a party, tailgate, or live performance, check out the Total PA Apex -- Similar portability and mobility, as it's also battery-powered, but nearly twice as powerful. Very tiny. A treble/bass mixer would have been nice for the mic. It sounds like you’re under water and the volume is rich, very thin and unable to cut against a karaoke speaker.

I found the best value in this quality speaker that allows me to test instruments, as well as listen to music.

Our department needed a small speaker for an event indoors (a school gym) that we could use as a PA system for announcing and running the event. Unfortunately, this speaker was extremely quiet. Quiet to the point that I could speaker louder by projecting than it could at full volume. We returned it. Best Buy made the process super easy.

Hi Richenda. Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like the speaker's volume settings may not have been fully optimized. To increase the volume, ensure the master volume and microphone volume are turned up. If you were using a microphone, make sure the switch on the mic channel is set to "Mic." Additionally, check that the volume on your connected device is at an adequate level. ionaudio

At first. 8 thought the volume was too low on each of the channels. However, if you press in on the volume knob it allows you to change the individual channel volume which is set at half. This thing puts out some serious power. Great sound quality. Bluetooth worked from across the pool as well. Great distance!
