First, a tip: The Best Buy-available iTouchless power adapter works great. I couldn't confirm anywhere it was the appropriate supply for this particular can but I took the risk and it is. I won't comment later on in my review about how the can's motor goes through batteries, since I obviously don't know. Now, just as a can: I would rate this iTouchless can as being good, but not great, for what it costs. Versus the pictures online, I was pleasantly surprised at its height, but mixed-surprised about its narrowness. The slimness means the can looks great and is non-obtrusive in my small kitchen, but the opening is not as large as I expected. Once the lid opens, there's plenty of space to throw your garbage in without aiming too hard, but it isn't wide enough to toss in slimy/sticky/smelly stuff completely carelessly - take a little time to aim, or to make sure those coffee grounds don't scatter. Another example - the dust pan I use when sweeping just barely fits the diameter of the can, as long as I hold it at an angle to make sure the mess doesn't land outside. I wouldn't have minded a slightly chubbier design if it meant a wider opening. (Then again, the wider opening cans were uglier, more expensive, or required batteries with their continuous need for replacement - or a combination of these negatives.) I didn't open the deodorizer pack right away; it does make a pleasant difference, at least with the variety of things that come out of my kitchen. Now, as a touchless, automatic can (which is what you're paying for, right?): Well, it's a nice luxury to have a touchless, automatic can. Also, the open/close mechanism is really, really fast! And it was a strict requirement to avoid the hassle of rechargeable batteries and environmental/personal costs of non-recharging batteries. But the motor's kind of too noisy, a bit more grating on the ears than I was hoping for. Also, it only opens for a few seconds. If you're tossing and going, no biggie, but if you've got a few things to go back and forth or something sticky isn't falling in, the lid comes down on you. It stops, it doesn't hurt, nothing bad happens. But it's annoying. You can push the "open" button to keep the lid open 4 minutes, which is handy when you're starting cooking or other projects, but not always the thing you thought of doing before you found yourself going back and forth and waving your hand a dozen times. So, between the noise and collective annoyances of the open/close mechanism, I actually find myself discouraged to use this can for every little thing, holding some tiny hair or speck of dust or like thing until I walk it over to the bathroom step-can instead. Otherwise, it's a nice can. The physical dimensions are good; so far I haven't found the white to be too dirty (light messes cleans off with a wet paper towel pretty well; haven't had a serious mess on it yet), and it's nice not having to spread gross things to or from the trash can when my hands are dirty. (I'd used a large step can for years, which was also clean, but migrated around as my stepping/kicking pushed it back a little every time.) If you really want a touchless can, then I don't think there is a better value. But a touchless can is all about a superior experience in terms of ACCESS, and if you spend another few dollars over this trash can that is already fairly expensive for being, ultimately, a garbage receptacle, some of the other options from iTouchless or SimpleHuman might give that easier experience of quiet, easy, truly hassle-free access. I just want a can that 1) looks sleek, 2) has the volume and broad opening that makes garbage disposal a breeze, and 3) works automatically without the upkeep of battery replacement. This iTouchless comes really close, and at a better price than other sensor cans.

I love this trashcan. I was concerned because I didn't really read all of the reviews until after I ordered & it was on it's way. I did notice right away that the can is too tall for 13 gallon bags, which is sort of annoying. But I like the height so it's fine. I also tend to use a bag as a liner that stays put & then the trash bag that will be removed. With two bags, I have not noticed the slippage that others have mentioned. The retainer ring seems to hold pretty well when it's wrapped properly. I have been putting my trashcan under my sink for years due to small apartments, so I knew I wanted something that would hold the smell if I was going to have it standing in my kitchen space. This is great at holding smells. It's crazy that when the lid opens I can smell the trash but when it's closed I can't. I also don't really have an issue with the sensor. So far the sensor has worked well for me. I don't know if I got lucky on that one but I don't find myself waving my hand repeatedly to get it to open. I did have issues with it opening every time I walked by at first but I think that was just because it was in an awkward spot as I was moving things around. Now that it is at the end of my counter, I have not had that issue. I like the trashcan so much that I'm considering getting the 8 gallon for my recycling.

This is a very modernized trash can. Motion sensor with the hands and does not leak threw. It came with a filter pack which goes on the side of the garbage can. I don’t like how I have to buy my own charger for the garbage can. The charger is 30 dollars. I just decided to use the batteries instead.

This a great trash can for the kitchen. Clean, white color and the automatic lid opens and closes well and without a lot of noise.

Amazing gift for my mom and she’s just in love with it

Absolutely love this trashcan. We had another brand and after only a few months it broke. The deodorizer is awesome and the motion sensor is not so sensitive that it opens when you walk by. Happy with my purchase and you will be too.

This touchless trash can is very nice! The only down side is the trash bag hands out the top part of it so you have to tie the bag to make it look good. Overall I would recommend this product at about half the normal price.

To small for kitchen trash can. The open and close is very sensitive- opens when i walk by.

I needed a large, sturdy basket for my trash and this lived up to the hype so I don’t have to constantly take out trash bags several times a day.

Pros: Looks good, automatic, you get a free gift (one deodorizer or 3 trash bags when you sign up on their website) Cons: It opens so violently that it almost tips over every time, the deodorizer doesn't work (it's a small packet right under the cover and hasn't done anything), because of the shape, you don't really fill up the 13 gallon trash bag before you have to replace it

This item was very Affordable & the Color is very Nice looking. The Compact Trash can is very nice so you do not smell any Bad Odors.

The iTouchless-13Gal. Trash Can does exactly what I expected it to do. The only issue I have with it is how sensitive it is when I walk by it. The can opens when I am not trying to throw something away. It is really sensitive. I wish there was a function to reduce the sensitivity​.
