Launched in 2020, the 85t still are the best.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2020 launched...and still considered the best overall earphone out today. Yes you can get in line with all the hype on the latest earphones out there today. Tones of brands have launched recently their new products. I know because i have them or have returned them for not living up to their promises. As it stands right now the Jabra 85t represents the best overall earphone based on sound quality, comfort, apps and feature set along with great battery life and wireless charging, and phone quality. Its almost embarrassing for brands like Sony and others who just launched recently and still can't even connect to multiple sources still in 2021 and yet the 85ts do. And at $179 right now ..its a no-brainer.

Jabra delivers again!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the 85t has been out for awhile... Jabra still continues to deliver with each iteration. The 75t's are still going strong, the 85t's are a different take to the TWS space for Jabra. Now they have the Elite 3, Elite 7 Active, Elite 7 Pro - but of all the Jabra's I have tried (75t, 85t, Elite 7 Active and 7 Pro) the ones I continue to use more often are the 75t but now the 85t have moved to my Top 3 dailies - XM4, AirPods Pro & 85t. The Elite 7 Active & 7 Pro sound nearly identical if not the same! Let's just the sound evsn after some EQ tweaks did not impress! Sound was sort of bland and uneventful... So back they went! picked up the 85t again lol since I already had the 75t and man! the level of comfort for me was what mads them pleasant. The 7 series are comfortable for sure but something about the semi-open design and contrary to popular opinion I very much enjoy the oblong ear tips. The ANC is effective, the best? no. Sound Quality is good, above average, the best? no. Call Quality is superb... the best? no. But Jabra doing everything good and above average in each important segment for a TWS set have pushed these to my Top 3 dailies. So of course this is all opinion based and subjective but give them a try - who knows you may enjoy them as much as I do!

A Great Successor to the Elite 75t
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned and truly loved my Jabra Elite 75t for the last year. In my opinion, Jabra has taken everything that was wonderful about the 75t and they’ve delivered a next level experience in the 85t that is perhaps not earth shaking but is next generation excellent. In this review, I’ll highlight the notable differences between them. The first thing you want to do is go your App Store and download the Jabra Sound+ App. Then follow the directions to pair your 85t’s to your device. Once paired, open the app and go through all the available setup options. Out of the box, an update was available for my headphones, which took about 15 minutes to complete. Anytime an update is available, the Discover Tab in the Sound+ App lights up to let you know you can update. Jabra couldn’t make it any simpler if they tried. While I’m speaking about the app, it’s one of the best apps to control and manage earphones I’ve had the pleasure to use and I’ve used plenty of them. So what did Jabra do to make the next generation Elite 85t better? Small things first. The charging case is now Qi wireless capable. And its slightly larger than the 75t charging case. The earbuds themselves are slightly larger than the 75t as well. But that has NOT been an issue in wear, fit or most important, comfort. More on comfort below. As already mentioned, the Jabra Sound+ app is the same app, with minor differences to accommodate the more advanced ANC in the 85t. The app is and continues to be industry leading in feature and control options. I won’t go into great detail on the app, except to say it’s simple, intuitive and VERY effective. You can easily integrate with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant. It was the same on the 75t. Moving on to more important things, let’s start with Advanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). All of my headphones have ANC. For me ANC is not the driving force behind any headphone purchase. Mostly because when ANC is active, the soundstage is typically compressed. And so too is this the case with the Elite 85t when ANC is on. It's very good to be sure, but if you're not in a noisy environment and you don't need noise cancelling, don't engage it. The sound stage will be expanded and music sounds fuller without it. ANC also uses more power so you'll get longer average use times without ANC engaged. Jabra incorporated a special ANC chip which permits something most ANC headphones cannot do and that’s giving you the ability to adjust the level of ANC to the level of noise reduction appropriate for the listening environment you’re in. Most ANC systems are either on or off. You either get noise reduction or you don’t. With the Jabra system, you use a slider in the Jabra Sound + app to dial in the perfect level of ANC and Hear-Through. Jabra dials the level of ANC in levels of 3db in 11 adjustments from no noise cancellation to full noise cancellation, with a toggle to add hear through for situations when you need to have some sense of things happening around you. It’s simple and effective. Each earbud has a microphone on the outside to cancel noise from the outside and one on the inside to cancel noise inside the ear. For the price its remarkably good. When Jabra introduced the Elite 75t, they did NOT have ANC. Instead they offered passive noise cancellation. What that means is once you’ve chosen the eargel with the best fit, they go deeper in your ear, to block out the outside world. It’s pretty effective to a degree. But Jabra just did something truly remarkable by rolling out an update to the 75t and Active 75t bringing Active Noise Cancellation to them both. That Jabra didn’t leave the 75t series out and it was even possible to turn earbuds which didn’t offer ANC and turn them into earbuds WITH ANC, with an update is simply amazing. Is it as good as ANC on the 85t? No. But it’s very good and I believe this is the first time anyone has ever done this. Kuddos to Jabra! Another notable improvement for the 85t is going from 6mm speakers to 12mm speakers. To be honest, the Elite 75t’s should not sound as great as they do with 6mm speakers, but they do. In doubling the size of the speakers in the 85t, the sound to my ears is broader. Because the 75t requires a very tight fit to block outside noise. Bass on the 75t can be a bit much. In contrast bass on the 12mm speaker on the 85t is not overpowering (a good thing to me), because the new earbuds are semi-open as opposed to fully closed. I personally find the sound more natural. Bass is tight, without boominess and gives a sense of greater depth without rattling your head. Mid-range is enhanced and highs crystal clear with no hint of being shrill. Overall, I think the new 85t’s are better balanced and better sounding than the 75t. Not long ago, Jabra introduced a feature through the app called My Sound. My Sound, adjusts the sound precisely for your hearing, where each ear is played frequencies at varying loudness levels from audible to barely audible. Once complete, the app configures the earbuds precisely for each ear. You must be in a place where it’s totally quiet as some of the tones can be hard to hear and you tap a box on the screen for each frequency you hear. I’ve taken the My Sound test a couple times and I’m not sure I can honestly hear much of a difference either way. It would be great if could toggle back and forth to hear how music sounds with the results of the sound test or without the sound test. As it stands now, you can only start over and take the test again. Also new this year is a wireless Qi charge ready case. Last year’s case could only be charged with a USB C to charging brick. The case this year is just slightly larger than last years case. But the case is already smaller than most other earbud cases, so not an issue. The case is well engineered and has a nice matt finish (nothing shiny here, no siree). And the earbuds fit in their charging cradle magnetically. You can turn the case upside down with the lid open and shake it and the buds remain securely in place. On a full charge, the earbuds will provide up to 5.5 hours of continuous play with ANC or up to 7 hours without ANC. The case itself holds up to 25 hours with ANC or 31 hours without ANC. The Elite 85t has an IPX4 dust and water rating and can take sweat from a hard workout or splashing water. They cannot be submerged in water. The Elite 75t has an IPX55 rating, which is tad better. Both the 75t and 85t come with a two-year warranty against dust and water, so you are well covered if anything goes wrong. In terms of connectivity, the Elite 85t can connect to 8 devices and play through two simultaneously. Jabra provides actual tactile buttons you can program to do what you want from pause, play, answer a call, move from one track forward or back. I will say the buttons require a bit more force to engage on the 85t, but they’re so much better than touch sensitive buttons. Jabra truly excels at headphones for phone calls. The 85t continues this tradition with 6 (count ‘em SIX) professional grade microphones, three in each bud. They added what they call SideTone, so you can hear your voice more clearly and naturally on a phone call, coupled with advanced wind protection algorithms, phone conversations are amazingly clear. I took a walk on a breezy afternoon with ANC all the way up, pass-through on and made a phone call. The ANC did a great job removing wind noise. My office can get loud and It works great there as well. All in-earbud headphones need to fit your ears properly to sound their best. With the 75t, the eargels are round and need to go deeper in your ear to block outside sounds. This can cause pressure and listener fatigue, but it’s how Jabra manages to get great sound from 6mm speakers. It’s VERY important to try all three eargels (small, medium, large) to determine what fits and sounds best. Using a size too small will not only provide a poor fit but will ensure you're not hearing everything these puppies can produce. The 85t eargels are a new semi-open oval design with pressure relief vents to eliminate pressure buildup. I find the 85t’s immensely more comfortable and listener fatigue is non-existent, even for extended periods of time in your ears. You still need to make sure you’ve chosen the right size eargel to get the best sound. Like the 75t, you still can’t listen to either earbud in mono. The 75t and 85t are slave and master. This means they aren’t paired individually and thus, it’s not possible to listen through the left earbud individually. You can listen through the right earbud in mono mode by putting it in your ear and leave the left earbud in the charging case. If Jabra can add ANC with an update, maybe this will come in a future update. Sorry this is long, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the differences between the 75t and the new 85t. I’ve put the 85t through extended listening sessions over the last few days, some sessions exceeding 3+ hours without a break and they are simply terrific for long listening. The 85t is to me a great step up and better in all the areas they needed to be. The 75t is still terrific made even better when Jabra updated them with ANC for free. But the 85t is all around better with larger speakers, fully adjustable next generation ANC, a case with wireless charging, Jabra’s traditional superior call quality, coupled with more balanced sound Over the last couple years, Jabra has been making some stellar state-of-the-art Bluetooth earbuds. One can only imagine how they’ll top this a year from now, but I have every confidence they will. In the meantime, I’ll be enjoying the best earbuds for the money out there and that makes me a very lucky camper indeed.

Game changing features!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had used a LOT of earbuds in recent years, and these are the best I've tried in regard to comfort and sound quality. Once paired with the Jabra Sound+ app, there's an initial setup that includes choosing your age and gender and then there's a hearing test. The earbuds are fine-tuned to each ear's range of hearing. After that, you can adjust the equalizer to meet your sound preferences, and adjust the amount of outside passthrough sounds and the amount of active noise cancellation. The ear gels are a proprietary oval shape, so you're not going to be able to use any "extras" you may have laying around. The earbuds can be controlled directly or through the app. The controls differ if you're in "music mode" (using them both) or "phone mode" (using only 1). The bud controls are actual buttons you have to press and not just a touch-sensitive surface which I prefer since it results in fewer accidental commands. You can connect 2 devices at a time, and they have an in-ear pressure relief system, 25 hours battery life including the case with the noise canceling on and longer without it, and USB-C or wireless charging. There's a fast charge option where you can get about 1-hour use with a 15-minute charge, or it takes about 2 - 3 hours to fully wired charge. Wireless can take 4 - 5 hours depending on the charger. After the initial setup, they connect to devices with no lag and the connection quality is solid. There are 6 microphones so the outbound and inbound call quality is outstanding!

Big Features in Such a Small Package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jabra Elite 85t proves that good things indeed come in small packages. With a lightweight comfortable fit, good audio quality, a splendidly useful app, and strong active noise cancellation, the audio engineers crafted truly wireless earbuds that are a joy to experience. What you get in the Box. -Elite 85t wireless earbuds -Charging case -Type C to Type A charging cable -3 different size pairs of ear gels -warranty sheet Here are some of the things that I really like about the Elite 85t: **Comfortable Earbuds** The Jabra Elite 85t is by far the most comfortable earbuds I have used. A lot of the earbuds are uncomfortable and put a lot of pressure on my ear, much like how ear plugs feel. With the open design of the Elite 85t, I don’t feel any of the pressure. In fact they feel very lightweight and after leaving them in my ears for several hours, I didn’t feel any ear fatigue. The oval ear gels are also soft and provide just the right amount of seal without feeling tight. They also never once felt like they were going to fall off. Even vigorously shaking my head back and off, the earbuds stayed firmly in my ears. **Excellent Sound+ app** I recommend that you download the Sound+ app before you do anything else. Jabra developed a feature rich, highly useful app making it an essential complement to the user experience. Once you download the app and take the earbuds out of the magnetic case, the app will initiate the MySound feature to optimize the audio experience based on your personal hearing profile. Much like a hearing test, the app will have you put an earbud in each ear one at a time and play tones of various volumes to gather your hearing profile. The Sound+ app is the brains of the earbuds. Using the app, you’ll be able to perform a number of customizations such as adjusting the intensity of active noise cancellation (ANC), adjusting the amount of ambient sound that comes through the earbuds (Jabra calls this Hear Through), adjusting the user customizable five band equalizer, configuring the buttons on the earbuds to your specific liking, adjusting the Soundtone feature to allow you to hear your own voice while on calls, saving three different listening profiles (My Moment, Commute, Focus), and even playing sounds to mask the noise around you such as white noise and nature sounds. **Splendid ANC** I’ve tried various ANC truly wireless earbuds from various manufacturers and I have to say that the ANC on the Jabra Elite 85t is remarkably good. The noisy humming of my bedroom fan disappeared and my family’s dialogue became nothing more than a whisper and sounded distantly far away. The ANC does its job best with lower frequency sounds and ambient sounds become significantly muted at mid and higher frequencies. In other words, the Jabra Elite 85t does a darn good job at keeping unwanted noise out. You can vary the intensity of the ANC through five levels with a slider via the app. On the opposite end, sometimes it is not desirable to have ANC, and you may want to allow some ambient noise to come through the earbuds such as when you need to be aware of your surroundings. Well, the Elite 85t has you covered here with its Here Through feature. The microphones pick up the ambient noises allowing them to be heard and amplified through the earbuds. Just like the ANC feature, there is a five point slider that varies the intensity of the ambient noise to be heard. **Great Audio Quality** The audio experience is highly subjective. It’s a good thing the app has a five band equalizer to enable customization of the audio to each individual’s specific audio taste. The audio from the earbuds sound pretty good to me. I think it is well balanced. However, I would have liked to have a little bit more crispness and sparkle and a wider soundstage. It has plenty of low end energy when needed, without bringing down the rest of the audio spectrum. I listened to several bass test audio on youtube and was surprised at the amount of bass that rumbled through the earbuds. **Negligible Audio Latency** I love watching videos on my phone and pc while using bluetooth headphones but just hate it when there is a visible lag in audio compared to the video. The Elite 85t did not show any noticeable audio latency. Big thumbs up from me. **Robust Bluetooth Connection** With the Elite 85t I did not experience any dropouts, stuttering, or loss of connection between the right and left earbuds. The wireless connection was robust whether I was 30 feet away from my phone or had my phone in my pants back pocket. **Crystal Clear Call Quality** The folks on the other side of my business phone calls have told me that my voice sounds clear. **Ability to Connect to Two Bluetooth Sources Simultaneously** Jabra calls it Multi-connect, the ability to be paired to two devices at once. So if you happen to have two mobile phones for instance, you’ll be able to accept calls from either device. **Wireless Qi Charging or Wired Charging. It’s up to you.** When you need to recharge the earbuds, just place them in the case and either charge them wirelessly with a Qi-certified charger or use the included USB-C cable. The Elite 85t are a great set of wireless earbuds. They’re not perfect though, and there were some things which I wished they could improve upon. --Battery Life is Ok-- According to Jabra, the battery will last up to 5.5 hrs with ANC (up to 25 hrs with charging case) and 7 hrs with ANC off (up to 31 hrs with charging case). That’s decent but I’ve seen other truly wireless earbuds that will last longer than 7 hrs between charges. The Sound+ app shows three different battery meters. One each for the left and right ear buds and one for the charging case. It bothered me that the right ear bud drained between 10%-15% faster than the left earbud. I guess it makes sense that the right ear bud drains faster since it is the master earbud that receives the bluetooth signal from the source device and also must route the signal over to the left earbud. Nevertheless, I wished the two earbuds would drain more uniformly. --Mono Earbud Mode: Right earbud Only-- The left earbud won’t work on its own for music or for calls. Only the right earbud will. Conclusion: The Elite 85t just seems like the right choice. There’s a lot to like about these earbuds from the comfortable fit to the excellent ANC and the really good audio and voice quality. If anything, it should be on your short list of truly wireless earbuds to audition.

Best Wireless Headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jabra Elite 85t True wireless earbuds are the best headphones I have ever experienced. Sound quality/Noise canceling is excellent and is the most comfortable ones I came across that actually stay in your ear. The Jabra Sound APP offers many features to utilize the earbuds. The controls are also impressive on the earbuds helping me control everything without having to touch my device. The hidden gem I found with these is that they connect to two devices at once!!!! I have used these headphones for everything including my Zoom meetings and phone calls and people can hear me clearer on them because of all the microphones on the buds. They truly are excellent all around. The battery also lasts forever as I barely charge them but use them all the time. I recommend the Jabra Elite 85t True wireless earbuds.

Good Design But Sound Needs Improvement
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve tried out a number of truly wireless earbuds in a search for the best pair. The Elite 85t checks most of the boxes, but still has a few shortcomings. If possible, I’d rate these a 3.5/5. Pros: - Controls: I love the physical buttons and that pretty much everything can be controlled on the earbuds including ANC/HearThrough, volume, play/pause, voice assistant, forward, and back. - Case: The case is small and easily portable. The build quality seems solid as well. - Battery Life: The battery life is good and on-par with other earbuds. I have yet to feel constrained by the battery life in normal use. - Comfort: This is a big one for me. Unfortunately, I have small ears so many truly wireless earbuds including the AirPods Pro are very uncomfortable. The Elite 85ts however work pretty well. I can wear them for several consecutive hours without issues. The semi-open design is nice, however it doesn’t fully eliminate the effects of bone-conduction and the “plugged-up” feeling, so moderate your expectations here. - ANC/HearThrough: the ANC is quite good even if it falls a little short of AirPods Pro. I tried it out at the gym and almost all the noise from the music playing on the gym’s speakers and people racking weights was gone. Equally as important to me, however, is HearThrough (aka Transparency mode) as I often want to be aware of my surroundings when I’m out and about or running. The HearThrough works really well indoors with minimal distortion or white noise. However outdoors is another story. HearThrough amplifies already loud wind noise, which I’ll mention in the cons below. Finally, I also like that the level of HearThrough and ANC is easily configurable in the app. - App: The Jabra app is well designed and easy to use. I like that the EQ settings applied there are stored on the earbuds so they take effect when connected to any device. Cons: - Sound Quality: This is my biggest issue with the Elite 85ts. The high-mids have a harsh, piercing, sibilant quality that’s not at all enjoyable. It’s worse with HearThrough enabled. I’ve been able to reduce it significantly by playing with the EQ, but it‘s not completely gone. I still find myself occasionally cringing when an instrument or vocals hit the right frequencies. I hope Jabra is able to fix this in the future with a software update. Aside from this issue, they sound good. The bass is rich but not overpowering. The soundstage, while not amazing, is good, and there’s a solid amount of detail. - Wind Noise: I tried using these while running, and though they stayed put well enough, they pick up a lot of wind noise. If you’re facing the wind it can be quiet loud and is significantly amplified with HearThrough on. This is a serious issue, because I want to keep HearThrough on while running for safety, but can hear nothing but wind if it’s breezy. Turning on ANC does cut down on the wind noise, but isn’t great for safety. I hope Jabra might be able to update the software to filter out wind noise with HearThrough on, but if not, expect to have to toggle HearThrough off when facing any wind. - Windows Sound Lag: I’ve noticed a significant lag when watching videos on Windows, though it’s fine on iOS and MacOS. If Jabra is able mitigate these issues with a software update it would be an excellent product. As of now, it’s a flawed but good product.

Posted .Hello Chris, we really appreciate your taking the time to write a review of the Jabra Elite 85t. We are thrilled to hear that you are enjoying the fit, ANC feature, and battery life of the Jabra Elite 85t, as well as the design and corresponding Jabra Sound+ app. We regret, however, that the Jabra Elite 85t audio quality did not meet your expectations. We believe that the Jabra Elite 85t maintains a nice balance between the highs, mids, and lows of the audio you are listening to. In order to get the best possible audio quality with your Elite 85t, we recommend making sure your earbuds are placed correctly in your ears. You can check our support page article to ensure you have the proper adjustment with your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-fit-with-my-Jabra-Elite-85t#/. Ensuring you have the best fit with the eargels on your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds is also vital for making the most out of the noise cancellation function of your device. A snug fit will create a seal around the outside of your ear canal, which will, in turn, prevent ambient noise from getting into your audio stream. Furthermore, we strongly encourage you to check out our support article, linked here: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-sound-when-listening-to-music-and-watching-videos#/, which details our helpful tips and tricks on how to get the best possible audio quality with your Jabra Elite 85t. The Elite 85t also boasts a 12mm speaker where previous models of our truly wireless devices used a 6mm speaker, so you should have better sound. If you are still not satisfied with the audio quality of the Jabra Elite 85t after checking out our support articles, we recommend taking the MySound test found in the Jabra Sound+ app in order to tailor your listening experience even further. The MySound test is an audio test made up of various tones played at different frequencies in both your left earbud and right earbud, respectively. The results of the test are then used to create a personalized audio profile for the wearer. Your MySound profile is used to calibrate your Jabra device to optimize your music listening experience and is saved to both your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds and to your Sound+ app to ensure you are always getting the best possible audio quality. If the suggestions we have provided above do not help to improve your Jabra Elite 85t audio quality, please update the firmware of your Elite 85t to version 1.27, which is the most recent update. Music performance improvements were one of the targeted fixes with this update. Lastly, at this time we do not recommend you pair your Jabra Elite 85t directly with a computer as it is optimized to be used primarily with smartphones or tablets running either iOS or Android. While many of our users have found success pairing their devices to their computers, this is not something that we officially support. For this reason, we cannot guarantee device performance or provide support for performance problems that may result. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns about your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/contact-support#/. Comparison of Jabra 85t and Bose QC Earbuds
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Context: I've owned the Elite 65ts for 18 months and, in horse race fashion, the Bose QC buds for the last 2 weeks. Overall, I'd characterize these as "very good", though I am still undecided on what to keep and what to return. Breaking it down, on the 4 dimensions what matter most to me... Sound: The 85ts do not have the expansive sound stage of the Bose QCs, but they do have a very capable equalizer feature that allows me to contour the sound to my tastes. For recent music produced to modern standards (typically more bass and top-end), the Bose contour works fine and the QCs are the clear winner; rich, expansive, perhaps "grand". For deeper catalog, older music with a very flat contour, the 85ts (with equalizer tuning) are notably better; the Bose can get muddy and there is nothing you can do about it. Existing reviews for both products notwithstanding, I call it a wash. Bose can change the game by adding a simple equalizer function Noise Cancellation: This is my first experience with NC, so my expectations are modest. Comparing the two, the Bose QCs are maybe 15-20% better at cancelling the rest of the world, but I don't think that difference will be noticeable in everyday use. Fact is they both do a great job of isolating music from environment (at least in my usage), and I am thrilled with both. Form-Factor: The 85ts are smaller, both the buds themselves and the case. Feel like the build quality, again case & buds, is comparable. I wasn't inherently put off by the size of the Bose, but the wings on the ear tips didn't add the stability and grab I expected. All told, I like the packaging of the 85ts by a significant measure. Small, and it just works for me Comfort: Both are more comfortable than my old 65ts, but the 85ts are 1-2 ticks better than the Bose. After a bit, I forget then 85ts are there, but there is enough pressure from the Bose to always know they are there. For both, they feel very secure in my left ear and somewhat secure in my right ear (but not loose enough to go one up on ear tips size). I don't use buds in an active circumstance, so it's a toss-up on security of fit Ultimately, I'll decide based on sound, and that's where the mix of results/observations will make it hard. The Bose sound stage is fantastic, the 85ts a little less so, but the ability to contour the sound through an equalizer is important to me. Maybe I'll keep both :-)

Great sounding wireless earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am very happy with the Jabra - Elite 85t wireless earbuds. They are very comfortable, stay in place very well when I am exercising and have great sound. I really like the hearing profile process to match the sound profile of the earbuds to your hearing. These also have good ANC, after you find the right size tips, so you get a good seal. The only negative I have is that the battery life isn't what I had expected. When just using them for music, with ANC or HearThrough turned off, I get the advertised battery life. Having the microphones active definitely takes a toll. When using these for long Zoom calls, with the Sidetone feature turned on (so you hear your own voice when on a call), the battery life takes a significant hit. I'm getting two to three hours when continually using them for Zoom calls.

ANC, app, and multipoint make these buds standouts
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jabra Elite 85t are one of the absolute best TWS on the market. These are neck and neck with the Sony WF-1000XM4 depending on your usage. These buds fit very similar to the AirPods Pro, with the oval eartips sitting just on the outside of your ear canal. This makes them very comfortable for long-term usage. You may need to use a larger eartip than what you are used to to get the best and most comfortable seal (I am generally small but found the large tips to be the best on these; they fit similar to Bose eartips). These 85t sound good enough in their stock tuning, but are blown away by the likes of Samsung, Sennheiser, and Sony. However, these are easily the most feature-rich set of true-wireless earbuds on the market. The Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode were the best on the market until Sony beat them with the XM4. The Jabra Sound+ app is what every headphone app should strive to be. It is intuitive, reliable, unobtrusive, and loaded with useful features. You can EQ the earbuds, set ANC and transparency levels, use the Find My Earbuds feature, rename, the buds, and so much more. The crown jewel of the app is the customizable buttons. You can tune every combination of button presses on each earbud to be exactly what you want. These are still the only earbuds in which you can control play/pause, skip track, back track, volume levels, ANC/Transparency, and voice assistant all from the earbuds. Not only are the buttons infinitely customizable, but they are always accurate. Tactile buttons are much easier to use than touch controls when dealing with an area you can't see (like the side of your head). I hate the trend of touch-controls on audio gear, and Jabra is one of the only ones left fighting the good fight. Sony, Samsung, Sennheiser, Apple: please listen up! We are six years into TWS, and Jabra are still the only ones providing multipoint connectivity. With the 85t, I can stay connected to my laptop and phone at the same time; no need for the Bluetooth disconnect/reconnect dance! This is truly a game-changing feature, and other earbud manufacturers need to jump on this. It truly makes life so much easier. While these earbuds are best-in-class for fit, customization, ANC, and features, there are a few areas of improvement for the Elite 95t. I wish Jabra provided a true 5-step EQ like Sony does. While I don't like the stock tuning of their WF-1000XM4, I was able to use the app to make them sound more to my liking (on the Harman curve). The Jabra app has an EQ, but it's not as easy to use for fine adjustments and audiophiles won't feel at home like they will with Sony. I would also like to see Jabra address the lack of independent usage. While this isn't a big deal for me, I know lots of people who like to use only one earbud at a time. The Jabras are still using an antiquated master/slave connection, which means you cannot use the left earbud by itself. Finally, Jabra should add higher-fidelity codecs like aptX HD and LDAC. AAC is fine for iPhones, but I wish my 85t were able to take advantage of the more advanced hardware in my Android phone to deliver the best sound possible. Finally, I wish Jabra were able to make the earbuds stick out of the user's ears a bit less. The 85t are a bit bulky and these earbuds are impossible to use for sleeping (I have to go to the Galaxy Beans for that). Overall, I can definitely recommend the Jabra Elite 85t to people who want want great noise cancellation and comfort while being able to tinker with every setting possible. The multipoint connection is a standout feature for those with multiple devices. Audiophiles may want to look elsewhere, as the 85t sound good but ultimately cannot compete with sets such as the Sony WF-1000XM4 (with EQ), Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2, or Moondrop Sparks. However, for everyone else, the Jabra Elite 85t should be a top pick. Well-done Jabra, and I am looking foward to the 95t!

Best overall Buds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are excellent Buds. I’ve used them for over 3 weeks before writing this review. Initially, I was a little disappointed when I received these because the BestBuy product description said they’d have a mono mode available for either earbud independent use. It turns out that was a feature Jabra decided to not use. For the record, that is my ONLY gripe about these headphones. The music quality is amazing and phone calls are clear. The music can be completely customized by the app to be tuned perfectly to your liking. The bass is solid, but not overpowering when you have fitted the right size ear tips to get a good seal. The ANC is amazing — better than my AirPod Pros and in my opinion better than the Bose Quietcomforts that I bought and returned. I like that these are much less bulky and sit in the ear and don’t make you look like you have a malignant growth coming out of your ears. The oval ear tips make these more comfortable than the 75t’s in my opinion. It’s a solid upgrade and the wireless charging case make it so much more convenient to keep the case charged. I highly recommend, but Jabra - if you’re listening - please give users the option of having independent earbud use! They’d be practically perfect with that one missing feature.

The Hype is real.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little background. I used Jaybird Run's then XTs for many years with great results till the XTs finally began to fail me this year. I am very picky about how things in my ear fit and also about my sound quality. The JBs served me well and were super durable so naturally I looked to the Vista 2's for an upgrade. This isn't a review of them so I won't go into detail here, but the sound and the ANC just didn't feel like it did much and the sound quality didn't improve much on my old XTs enough to justify the price; so I swapped them for the 85t. WOW! The ANC on these is amazing. The headphones don't provide the same kind of isolation due to the "vented" shape, but you wouldn't know it with the ANC on. Most if not all of the benefit of a more isolating bud without the discomfort and pressure build up. The sound quality is also great. For the first time ever I found the neutral profile of earbuds to be almost exactly to my taste. That said I still adjusted it with the robust EQ options in the Sound+ app. Comfort of these is amazing. The physical button is easy to press and since the bud doesn't seal your ear, there is no uncomfortable pressure when you press it. The controls are customizable and the way to raise the volume +/- in particular is well executed. There is a nice audio clue and pause to let you raise or lower it gradually and in a controled manner. These are definitely worth the price. The only thing I hate is the color. I prefer vibrant (easy to spot) colors, but other than that I couldn't ask for a better set of buds.

Top notch
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bravo. I went with these of the AirPod Pros. Ive had many Jaba headphones and earbuds in the past, and have been very happy with them. My last pair was the Elite 75t’s. I did like my 75t’s better, up until this past week when I flew. With the 75t’s I had to have the volume all the way up to hear. With the 85t’s 1/2 way and I was good. These went toe to toe with my Sony WM-1000’s I personably prefer these Jabras over the Sony’s, just because they are more comfortable and the app is easier to use, and the earbuds are easier to connect. Call quality has been commented on by many people. “It sounds like you are sitting right next to me” “What kind are those? I need some” I do have some background noise when I am on the call. I haven’t had anyone complain about it, I simply think this is a way for you to be aware of your surroundings with the earbuds in and on the phone. My ONLY, and I mean only, only, only, only, only complaint is that you have to use the right ear bud to use the left. I work with several people to the right of me, and I need to be able to hear them when they call me. Being able to use the left earbud alone would be an absolute “seal the deal” with me. I am very apply with these and will continue to buy Jabra products in the future

Great Sound and Great App
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have really enjoy the comfort and ease of adjustment. A hearing assessment is completed in the app which balances the sound to your hearing needs. Music, calls, and outside sounds can be controlled by active noise cancelation or hear through. I have hearing loss in my left ear and the app adjust for that. Music sounds great with a built in equalizer.

Great, comfy, quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really nice and comfy headphones. They fit well and sound great. The bass is good. The anc options are fantastic. Every now and then I'll have to resync them to the phone. The button pushes to play and pause sometimes won't work correctly. So hence why I have to resync them. But it might just be user error. I enjoy them and would recommend them

Should've bought these sooner!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is wow! I tried so many different buds. Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds2, SoundCore Liberty 3 Pro, OnePlus Buds. Each with their own problems. The Galaxy Buds Pro were great but just would not fit my ears comfortably. The Galaxy Buds2 were the same. Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro were great in sound, but the seal and ANC were not worth the money. The Jabra Elite 85t are worth every penny! I can wear them for long hours without any ear fatigue or irritation. The sound of the box are good, but great with a little tuning to your preference. ANC is probably one of the best that I've had experience with. These have been the gold standard for many reviewers, and now I can see why. Just upset that I went the long route to find that out. Easily recommend this to anyone looking for a great pair of buds!

I'm nit-picky
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everythng is good EXCEPT, only one side can be used??? C'mon Jabra... MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE earbuds have done away with that setup! Love the qi charging, good job on the comfort factor. Great app and easy to follow with many intuitive controls. The ANC functionality is pretty close to the airpods pro and a rival to bose's new pair of qc earbuds. Maybe one day your company will include comply style foam eartips to seal the deal on your ANC? No pun intended... Overall, these are recommendable and if jabra can update their software on their products via their app, MAYBE they can get rid of the master/slave setup for double sided single ear use. #its2020now. Thanks for reading.

Excellent choice (unless you fly frequently)
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good wireless earbuds. Excellent battery life, convenient carrying case with wireless charging capability, and outstanding sound quality. Among the more comfortable earbuds I've used. Only negative (for me) is that the low frequency (bass) noise cancellation is substantially worse than Airpod Pros. This became apparent last week when I was flying cross country. They do a good job of reducing noise, but not nearly as good as the competiton.

Great Earbuds! My pick of the 3.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great earbuds. I have tried the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live and the Bose QuietComfort Noise Canceling Earbuds, and these are my choice out of the 3. They are the most comfortable for my ears, which I use for my job, and which requires lots of phone call time. They also stay in my ears very well. I was surprised how well with the shape. Noise canceling works great, I think Bose has the best noise canceling, but these work great and are plenty good enough for me. I love that you can connect 2 devices at the same time which neither of the other 2 could do. The 3 mic system works great for cutting out background noise. I haven't had any complaints about background noise with these which I have definitely had with other Bluetooth devices I've used. There is only 1 thing I wish these could do, and that is use the left eatbud independently. If they could do that, I would have no complaints.

Fantastic Earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic earbuds for pretty much anything, they are extremely comfortable to the point that I sometimes forget they are in. Despite this they stay in better than any other earbuds I have tried. The noise cancelling is unreal, completely blocks out any white noise and does a pretty dang good job at blocking out conversations too. At one point I lost the charging case and had to go back to using my old earbuds for a while until I could get a new one and the difference was night and day. I would recommend getting a case to attach them to a key chain or something because it is easy to misplace the case.
