Awesome sound but right ear dominant

This is my third pair of jabra earbuds. I do metalwork and am constantly around loud equipment. These really help take the decibels down and connect easily to my phone. The batteries seem to last a long time 4-5 hours of constant use with loud music and they pair well. The sound is great. The only thing I don’t like about this brand is the right ear is dominant. Meaning you can’t have just the left ear in. I’m left handed, footed, and eared(?). It’s a big deal for me to have just the left ear in sometimes and I either have both on or none, but never just my right ear. If you’re right eared, these will be perfect.

    Disappointed

I've rocked Jabras since the 65T, prior to that sticking with various Jaybird wired BT headphones. Liked the 65Ts a lot and felt that the 75T were a huge step up in sound quality, size, and battery life. I had high hopes for the 85Ts with the addition of dedicated ANC hardware, but overall after trying them for an hour or two, came up disappointed. The sound quality is not as vibrant as the 75s and felt flat with the low end coming in shallow. I prefer the sealed design of the 75s over the 85s somewhat open canal design. The 75s also feel more secure in the ear than the 85s. While the ANC technology of the 85s is probably superior to the firmware update the 75s received, the open air buds allow more outside noise in, so in my short experience, it was a wash; I could not notice a significant difference in ANC quality. Sound quality and ANC aside, the size was another disappointment. I know it was necessary to fit the ANC chip into the earbuds, but considering the mediocrity of the ANC, it doesn't seem to be worth this increase in weight. So what's good about them? Wireless charging. I don't think they are horrible earbuds, and someone entering the true wireless arena will probably appreciate them. Personally I'd recommend buying the 75s with wireless charging case, sold, unfortunately, exclusively at Costco.

Hello Kevin- We are happy to read that you have enjoyed the Jabra Elite 65t, and Elite 75t which led you to purchasing the newly released Jabra Elite 85t. We are sorry to read that you did not end up being satisfied with the Jabra Elite 85t. It is unfortunate that the sound quality is not as vibrant as other models. Have you checked out the Sound+ app? You can customize the sound quality to your liking with the offered equalizer. Regardless, it is nice to know that you are using the Wireless Charging case. We will certainly pass this feedback along to the Product Development team. Thank you for writing a review of the Jabra Elite 85t. Jabra

Bought these because they offer multi point Bluetooth. I have an iPhone and a windows pc that I use for work. These connect to both simultaneously and allow me to get sound from each and switch back and forth seamlessly. They sound great too. Crystal clear for phone calls. They could be perfect if they were not as bulky and did not have the oval shape.

I like it. Noise canceling is amazing, especially when I get a phone call . The way I can adjust the noise and control which side does what. I like that. Only thing I don’t like is that you have to have the right side bud in for the left side to work. Wish that I could choose either or.

Bulky unreliable. Since Samsung buds live had high pitch noise after one my beats by dre magical disappeared and update required them both. Sale person suggested best they had to offer. Payed the difference took home. The noise canceling is a plus but, top heavy fallout easily. Design cumbersome bulky while, range and battery life lacking. Application monitors location of device has application installed, not give location even the one of set has bluetooth when fallout. Sure the integrity of service permission not sold 3rd party strange how helpful. Not all bad as long dont move around much, secure in ear, sound quality above good

Got this as an appreciation gift for my other half. He loves it! Uses it everywhere and anywhere he goes, literally. It’s not sleek like an AirPod, so I am able to see when he is using these or not.

The right side is the master I can not use the left side without the right side. That I do not like I thought of returning it for something else.

There's really not much of a difference when it comes to this new releases compared to the flagship 75t series. Some changes are to the case and where the charge light located. There is now an extra processer in use to work the active noise cancelling, this may be why the sound is not as crisp as it had been in the previous model. They do sit differently as the feel a little bigger and side-by-side comparison (slightly larger). Setup is still just as easy as before and firmware pushes are easier send with the change in where the LED is located for notifications.

I have been trying to like these earbuds, but just can't do it. I had Samsung earbuds and those are much better. The 85t earbuds stick out so far from my head that if I go downstairs, they start to fall out. In my opinion, the reason the Jabra website only show their models from the side is that they don't want people to see how far out they stick. Also, I was very disappointed with the ANC. I can still hear the vacuum in the next room. I have the Elite 85h and they are much better. I understand that there is a difference between over-the-ears vs in-the-ears, but I can hear wind noise when I walk with the 85t and the ANC at the highest level. Plus you can almost get two of the Samsung earbuds for the price of these. Get those instead.
