Great except for the fit and battery
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ANC feature on this works great. They don't fit well into my ear canal as the plugs are more oval than circular and they move around a little while running. The 85t is on the left in the picture The battery doesn't last as long as the 75t. The sound is great and the distance connection is better than the 75t.

I really like these noise cancelling earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the Jabra earbuds I started with the 65t and they have gotten better and better each time and these pair sound excellent and the noise cancelling is awesome, I can concentrate on what I want to hear or just not listen to what is around me as when I am on a flight. I would have liked them to be a bit smaller but overall they sound excellent. The application is a great addition to making them sound great and also to know the battery life and customizing them to my liking.

Go with 75t over 85t
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jabra makes great products but the redesign on the earpiece for the 85T I don’t agree with. I have owned several different earbuds over the years went from the 65T to the 75T to the 85T. 75t is an excellent earbud and would prefer those over the 85 just for the simple fact that they fit better and do a better job at canceling our noise due to the fact that the ear insert fits much better. The only reason why I upgraded to the 85T due to the fact that I accidentally washed them in the laundry my 75t multiple times after washing them the third time they finally gave up 100% except the fact that it is my fault of that happened but I expected so much more out of the 85T given that the price tag was substantially higher. also I have used third-party inserts for the 85t to try to see if there was something else I could use to make them fit better and it does not help.

Posted .Hello Chris - While many folks certainly prefer the Jabra Elite 75t/Elite Active 75t, the Elite 85t offers benefits not available in our other earbuds. ANC in the Elite 85t is controlled by a dedicated on-board processor delivering superior noise cancellation. The oval shape to the earbuds make for a more comfortable, natural fit (your ear canals are not round!). The Elite 85t also incorporates a 12mm speaker, twice the size of the speakers in our other models. If you have any questions or concerns, we invite you to contact our Product Support Team for assistance. Thank you.

75t to 85t transition: a caveat or two
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first pair of Elite 85t earbuds after 4 elite or active elite 65/75. Cautionary note: all required replacing between a year and a year and a half due to loss of volume in one earbud (usually the left). I decided to step up to the Elite 85t (with replacement plan---a must) and have been pleased thus far (~10 days). The sole negative is the bud fit. I did not understand one reviewer's comment that it was a design change until I saw it and felt the difference. It does not feel as secure and requires adjustments when wearing while active (my primary use). While the 75t was lauded for its superior bass sound, it sometimes was too much. These seem to strike a better balance. I have not used them for conversations very often, but I appear to be heard well. One issue: my active elite 75t stayed connected to my phone and exercise bike without any extra effort from me. I have encountered some difficulty here: I will continue to troubleshoot it and see what happens.

Jabra Elite Active 75T is the pick of the lot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have actually used the 65T, 75T, 75T Active (75T-A)and 85T during the last year so my review is based on actual experience. I purchased the 65T in Oct, 2019 only to find that the 75T was round the corner. I ended up purchasing the 75T and after using it for a week along with the 65T, I returned the 65T because the 75T was superior in almost every way. Fast forward to June, 2020 and I ended up losing the 75T. I waited for a few months and then purchased the 75T Active only to find, yet again, that the 85T is round the corner :). I purchased it from Best Buy who have it in stock ahead of Amazon and I have been using both for the last several days. My conclusion: I will be returning the 85T and holding on to the 75T-A. Why? Read on... 1. Size and fit: The 85T is larger and somehow it never seems to fit snugly in my ear. No such problem with the 75T-A. I never get the confidence that the 85T will stay securely lodged in my ear. Jabra has changed the ear piece from round to oval and it might work better for some, but not for me. the 85T feels just as comfortable as the 75T-A but I don't want to have to worry that it might fall off, particularly when I'm running or riding my bike. Winner: 75T-A 2. Case: The 85T case is visibly larger and smooth. I however, like the grippy feel of the 75T-A case. I find it easier to remove the earbud from the 75T-A case and the magnets in the case also seem stronger. This, combined with the grippy feel of the case and earbuds, reduces the probability of dropping the ear bud while removing it from the case. Ditto for when I have put the buds back into the case. The 75T-A buds seem to 'snap' into place more reassuringly then the 85T buds. The 85T earbuds sit deeper in the case, so need to be gripped firmly while removing them from the case. A non-slip coating would've definitely helped. Note: I have purchased the wireless charging version of the 75T-A case. Winner: 75T-A 3. Sound: This is naturally subjective, but for me the winner is 75T-A hands down. There is greater clarity and more bass, but not overwhelmingly so. All the 4 headsets sound different and I like the 75T-A the most. I was disappointed with the 85T. Music sounded rather 'subdued' no matter how I much I adjusted the settings in the app. Winner: 75T-A 4. ANC: This is supposed to be the highlight of the 85T and it works quite nicely. However with the recent update along with the tight seal in the ear, the 75T-A more than holds its own and I am unable to find a lot of difference. It is not possible to adjust the ANC level in the 75T-A (unlike the 85T) but I don't think that this is a big enough drawback to spend the extra $$ for the 85T. Winner: Draw 5. Wireless connection: The 85T connects connects more quickly with my iPhone 6S compared to the 75T-A. It is connected and ready for use by the time I have it secured in my ear, while the 75T-A is still connecting by the time the earbud is in ready in my ear. Winner: 85T 6. Active use: I use the earbud in one ear while riding my bike. I ride long distances and sweat quite a bit, so the 75T-A definitely has the edge here. Winner: 75T-A 7. Phone calls: I found no discernible difference in performance. Both perform satisfactorily. I recommend checking YouTube for more detailed analysis of the same. Winner: Draw Based on all of the above, and the discounts available for the 75T-A, I am unable to justify the nearly $80 difference between the 75T-A and the 85T. If the 85T had sounded better, I might have been tempted but that's not the case. I think Jabra will improve it via firmware updates but I am surprised that they decided to mess with the outstanding sound delivered by the 75T-A.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've rocked Jabras since the 65T, prior to that sticking with various Jaybird wired BT headphones. Liked the 65Ts a lot and felt that the 75T were a huge step up in sound quality, size, and battery life. I had high hopes for the 85Ts with the addition of dedicated ANC hardware, but overall after trying them for an hour or two, came up disappointed. The sound quality is not as vibrant as the 75s and felt flat with the low end coming in shallow. I prefer the sealed design of the 75s over the 85s somewhat open canal design. The 75s also feel more secure in the ear than the 85s. While the ANC technology of the 85s is probably superior to the firmware update the 75s received, the open air buds allow more outside noise in, so in my short experience, it was a wash; I could not notice a significant difference in ANC quality. Sound quality and ANC aside, the size was another disappointment. I know it was necessary to fit the ANC chip into the earbuds, but considering the mediocrity of the ANC, it doesn't seem to be worth this increase in weight. So what's good about them? Wireless charging. I don't think they are horrible earbuds, and someone entering the true wireless arena will probably appreciate them. Personally I'd recommend buying the 75s with wireless charging case, sold, unfortunately, exclusively at Costco.

We are sorry to read that you did not end up being satisfied with the Jabra Elite 85t. It is unfortunate that the sound quality is not as vibrant as other models. Have you checked out the Sound+ app? You can customize the sound quality to your liking with the offered equalizer. Regardless, it is nice to know that you are using the Wireless Charging case. Great sounding but...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok so these headphones have really good sound, long battery life and the case keeps them charged up as well, when you're on the go. They're easy to use and can be used with Android or iPhone. The only issue is that like most in-ear buds, they don't stay in very well without an over the ear hoop like the Power Beats Pro. So that's why these are getting only 4 stars.

These are a good bargain.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a bit smaller than the Elite 65T which I had previously and thus somewhat more comfortable than the 65s. They fit well, but do occasionally feel like they might fall out, Especially when chewing. They're a bit harder to remove from the case than I'd prefer. The sound is better than the 65s, and I love the noise cancelling. It's as good as my Bose NC wired earbuds, or my Sony ANC neckband based ear buds. Battery life is fine. My biggest reason for picking these over the Sony or Bose true wireless ear buds is the ability to connect to multiple devices at once, something the competitors can't do.

Sound is amazing, fit? Not so much
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve tried lots of headphones. I really do love the jabra brand I’ve has them all, the 75 I think are better than the 85. Main reason being the 85 do not sit in the ear like the 75 and 65 . I’ve tried all the different size tips and it just don’t sit tight enough. They will come out easily. Definitely not for running, yard work, gym, Thats the reason I give 4 stars. As far as sound, well it’s definitely better than the 75. I am impressed with that. Voice calls are not the greatest with 85. I think it try’s too hard for the noise canceling. When someone is talking to me on the phone, it will cut them out if they don’t Speak loudly. I think I’m gonna return them and try out the Bose 1000. I’ll post on those after a month or two. Just an FYI, I use earbuds daily. Mostly while driving.

Great speaker gone to waste .
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok so I really like the detail found in the sound of the new 12 mm driver BUT I didn’t really notice a real increase in volume at all from the 75ts and what’s worse is my 75ts aren’t as loud as my 65ts .... so either Jabra is moving backwards or they missed a huge opportunity to have perfect earbuds but chose to go with open design . Not only did not having anything actually in my ear make the buds feel heavy , not anchored , and about to fall out ,(at one point it did fall out ) but it mostly just made me realize how good that new driver could sound IF I had a proper seal inside my ear . I had for them for half a day and returned them because I found myself constantly pushing them into my ear . Which hurts after awhile , and my ears are used to buds I’ve been wearing them 7 years strait they’re tuff . As thick as these are you have to have something that anchors the bud to your head . And why not let it be the ear piece which at the same time would give you better sound quality . I have no use for ANC so for them to be that large , no seal in ear , and minimal sound gains because of the previous reasons I had to return them . That’s just to much money for a very slight improvement on sound . I’ve spent tons of money on buds and I just can’t figure out what the obsession is with ANC . Let’s make a pair that sound great and seal off first ... then do the ANC when you can reduce the size of the tech . Also why are the top ANC brands right now all producing earbuds that don’t seal in the ear !!? If ANC is really a big deal then would it not make sense to take advantage of free noise isolation by letting the bud seal in the ear ???? Then spend your money on all the tech stuff to finish the job . It’s like waterproofing the outside of a water balloon lol the waters already inside ! Can you please offer a 75t size version with ONLY the new drivers ? For people who want smaller buds , bigger sound , and don’t really care about ANC ? Ear buds should focus on making noise not stopping it. It doesn’t even make the sound produced by the buds louder when it’s on that’s why it’s useless . Again would love a smaller ANC free version like Bose is offering that I would kill for with in ear seal !

Excellent Earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this earbuds almost daily for my exercise routine about 2-3 hours. I used to use the Jabra Elite Active 65t until they stopped working for me and I have to get this one. They fit really nice but when I was doing incline abs the earbuds can't stay in my ears. I have to constantly press against my ears. I tried the medium the large size of the silicone piece and they still don't stay well inside my ears. The Elite Active 65t fit better than this one. Other than that...The Elite 85t sounds better than the Elite Active 65t. Remember that the 85t Right Side ear buds will drain the battery faster.

Huge disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning the 65T’s, I was excited when I saw these…thinking they would be even better. Huge disappointment! No matter what gels I use, they never feel secure. Hoping I can locate the 65T’s again. They were much more comfortable/secure. On the plus side - battery life is fantastic, as is the sound. I will be looking for something else to replace these.

Good earbuds but not worth upgrade over active 75t
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound but not great. Bass is not as good as active 75t. Fit is also not as good & secure as 75t and I feel that the buds may fall if i move around too much. ANC is very good but if i look at passive noise cancellation plus the new ANC update done to elite active 75t, I feel it kind of same. It feels little heavier also compared to active 75t although still pretty light compared to other earbuds in the market, I dont think this is a great upgrade over active 75t considering active 75t with wireless charging case is $149 at costco for thanksgiving as well as active 75t are more rugged.

Great sound quality, don’t stay in your ears
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality and noise canceling on these are top notch. They fall out of your ears too easily. They connect to your phone immediately. Kind of annoying that only the right ear bud is the receiver. You have to at least put the right one in to talk to receive sound. I was hoping these were better than the air pod pros but they are not. Sound quality … absolutely 10/10… ear fit … 2/10. Had these for 30 days and I wear them all the time for work (diesel tech) and they just don’t stay in like the air pod pros do. Also, the battery life isn’t quite the same. Does last all day under heavy use, but that’s it… so don’t forget to charge them! Will be continuing my search for better ear buds as these are not it.

Sub Par for me!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I travel for a living. After reading the reviews I decided to retire my 75t for the 85t. What a MISTAKE!!!. Sound quality is great on both pairs. Call quality on my 75t was better then the 85t according to the 100 or more people I spoke too. NC in my opinon was better on the 75t also. This has to do with fit. The Sound+ app works great. The ease of use for the 85t is awesome just like the 75t. The features are awesome too.Just when setting up the 85t you have to constantly move the bud around in your ear to find the perfect fit or the app will not let you set up the NC the way it was intended to do. I get a better fit with my 75t. Now Jabra decided to go oval for the ear piece. This is for those that have perfect ear canals. Like me I have lager ear canals and the large ear pieces don't work. There is no aftermarket ear gels to fit the 85t. Of course Jabra says not to use aftermarket ear tips. Well Jabra how about you putting out another size or 2 of ear tips for the less common folks out there that buy your products. Yes Jabra makes a good product here. Just not for me or my liking. Will go back to my 75t.Would I recommend these to other people yes. Just find a place that will let you try then on before purchase.

Clarity of use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: First of all This was a gift to my Son, however, I was able to use the Elite 85T a few times and I will say.... They are awesome! I listed to music and the sounds were magnificent with the use of the sound mixer app. The capabilities of using the Elite 85T while using a cell phone in my opinion is second to none. Very good clarity! My son calls me while using the his Elite 85T and I can hear him perfectly on my cell phone! Cons: The Elite 85T must be placed in the ear correctly in order to hear sounds correctly (is this really a con? maybe not) I wasn't pleased that once an single earbud is pulled from the ear, the music or sounds, phone use stops (but they continue once placed back in the ear). I'm sure there is an engineering design for this reason, but I don't understand why as of yet. Recommend? YES!!

Posted .Hello timmy- Thanks for taking the time to write a review of the Jabra Elite 85t. We are delighted to learn you enjoy the earbuds' functionality and call quality. However, we regret you are not satisfied with the audio quality or fit of the Jabra Elite 85t earbuds. We believe that the Jabra Elite 85t maintains a nice balance between the highs, mids, and lows of the audio you are listening to. To get the best possible audio quality with your Elite 85t, we recommend making sure your earbuds are placed correctly in your ears. You can check our support page article to ensure you have the proper adjustment with your Jabra Elite 85t: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-fit-with-my-Jabra-Elite-85t#/. Ensuring you have the best fit with the eargels on your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds is also vital for making the most out of the noise cancellation function of your earbuds. A snug fit will create a seal around the outside of your ear canal, which will, in turn, prevent ambient noise from getting into your audio stream. Furthermore, we strongly encourage you to check out our support article, linked here: https://www.jabra.com/supportpages/jabra-elite-85t/100-99190000-02/faq/How-do-I-get-the-best-sound-when-listening-to-music-and-watching-videos#/, which details our helpful tips and tricks on how to get the best possible audio quality with your Jabra Elite 85t. The Elite 85t also boasts a 12mm speaker where previous models used a 6mm speaker so you should have better sound. If you are still not satisfied with the audio quality of the Jabra Elite 85t after checking out our support articles, we recommend taking the MySound test found in the Jabra Sound+ app in order to tailor your listening experience even further. The MySound test is an audio test made up of various tones played at different frequencies in both your left earbud and right earbud, respectively. The results of the test are then used to create a personalized audio profile for the wearer. Your MySound profile is used to calibrate your Jabra device to optimize your music listening experience and is saved to both your Jabra Elite 85t earbuds and to your Sound+ app to ensure you are always getting the best possible audio quality.
