My fiancé and I were in the market for a soundbar. We talked with a BestBuy employee (I forgot his name but he was aweseome) and he walked us around the store listening to different options with no pressure. When he showed us this system we were blown away! We opted to spend a little more but it’s an investment piece and will last many years. We have had it about 2 weeks and it’s great! The woofer has deep bass and the rechargeable detachable speakers are awesome! Adds a wonderful experience to movies and music! We got it on sale for about $800. Great sale but worth full price too!

I like the easy setup I really like the sound quality of the JBL 1000 soundbar. The detachable speakers are a great feature for movies.

The JBL Bar 1000 is my very first soundbar and I feel like I hit the jackpot on first try. I walked into Best Buy to compare soundbars and the minute the associate showed me this I was blown away. The subwoofer, the detachable speakers, the Dolby Atmos, just EVERYTHING. The price was a bit higher than what I was intending to spend but I understand you get what you pay for. Plainly put the JBL Bar 1000 has been worth every penny!

The magnetic/portable speakers are awesome. I leave them connected until its time to watch a movie. I like the flexibility and it last for a long time in case you forget to hook it back up

I was thinking about purchasing Bose system sound bar but bought the JBL sound bar. I initially bought Bose cube years ago and was happy with it but wanted something that provided clear dialogue sound for movies. The set up was easy and the outcome was Unbelievable! It’s sound is perfect for our home. Bose is good enough but the JBL sound bar was over the top and the wife is happy because no wires and has a nice and clean look. The detachable wireless rear speakers are an awesome bonus. A musician friend stopped by and was also impressed with the setup and sound.

Fantastic sound bar I don’t use the detachable satellites. I keep them attached to it under the TV. Nice upgrade from the jbl bar 9.1

Better than expected and value for the money. Original sought after a boise surround sound system, but fell in love with the JBL detachable speakers and sleek design.

I love this soundbar although it gets annoying when I want to listen to music I have to go in and re connect the WiFi. Very frustrating

This sound bar is the real deal. The sound that comes out of this is deep and amazing. I bought it to pair with my brand new LG 2024 C4 OLED. As soon as I plugged it in, it fired right up. The directions were easy to follow and setup was a breeze. The detachable sattelite speakers were what sold me and they don’t disappoint. Once they are detached, you can lace them anywhere in the room. And once you get them set, you hit callibrate on the remote and after about 20 sexonds or so, you have really a cool background. I love the NFL and all sposrts in general. The front bar during the game game me the announcers voices. The sattelites gave me the crown and even the in stadium announcer. It was really cool and im looking forward to next sunday. This sound bar is expensive, but its worth it. The sound is rich and movie theater like. JBL nailed this one.

This review is based on using the JBL Bar 1000 in a 20' x 35' room with a projector for the past week. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the sound bar fills the entire room, enhanced further by the detachable surround speakers. In the box is the sound bar with power cord, subwoofer with power cord, 2 surround speakers that are standalone or attach to the sound bar, remote control, HDMI cable, mounting hardware for the surround speakers and sound bar, side caps (when surround speakers are detached), and quick start guide. The sound bar has the following ports - ethernet, optical, USB, HDMI ARC and HDMI (x3), in addition to bluetooth and wifi connectivity, allowing for multiple input options. Setup is a simple plug and play, however you get more functionality by using the JBL One app, which also interfaces with Alexa or Chromecast to stream music directly from a mobile device. Through the app you can set up wifi, manage software updates, set equalizer, control rear speaker volume, calibrate, sync audio, and create a "moment" which is the ability to select a playlist / station, time to play, volume, and auto-off time. For positioning there are options to calibrate sound, which I use frequently, as the teens like the move the speakers. They prefer attached to the sound bar for gaming, and moved behind them when watching movies. The bar can either rest on a surface or mount to the wall, using included template and mounting hardware. While the detachable speakers are held in place fairly securely via magnets, I would recommend making sure they do not hang off a surface, as they could disconnect from the sound bar if bumped. This sound bar has a ton of flexibility for movement and placement, the subwoofer is wireless, as are the surround sound speakers, which are also USB-C rechargeable battery powered, so you aren't constrained by finding a wall outlet for surround sound. As far as sound, the sound bar fills the 700 sq ft area seamlessly with rich music, fantastic surround sound, and clear dialogue, no matter the setting. For testing the teens wanted to watch their favorite dinosaur movies, I found that the surround sound is immersive and significantly enhances the experience as compared to a lower powered surround system we had been using. As for power, this system feels like it was designed for 700 sq ft, boasting 880W output, 10" subwoofer, and MultiBeam technology which is a speaker array method that improves surround sound coverage. Overall this is a very solid sound package, it performs well, has the right sound balance for everything from gaming to high effect movies, and has significant perks with regards to speaker placement and coverage optimization.

This soundbar is absolutely exceptional! It surpasses expectations in both craftsmanship and audio performance. Opting for this soundbar over my initial choice, a JBL model, has proven to be a wise decision. The in-store demonstration left me in awe, prompting an immediate purchase. The setup process, guided effortlessly by the accompanying app, is notably user-friendly. The innovative detachable rear surround speakers are a unique addition, albeit requiring some adjustment on my part. Their battery life sustains for several days, even with frequent system use. I highly endorse this soundbar, especially for those willing to invest in superior audio quality. It's undeniably a five-star addition to any entertainment setup.

Well my reviews always seem to start off the same way, oh my god this will take days to install, its too big and heavy I’m old and will need help, its’ probably going to add more electronic “insanity” to my life and then I plug it in and it’s … WOW!. Installation seems challenging but it’s a sweetheart wireless Plug & Play, Blue tooth. It hooks up to its components wirelessly within a minutes, just plug them in, turn them on and the papa soundbar sends wonderful sounds to its satellite speakers and subwoofer w/o issues. Great for people who just want to install and are not electronics savvy. The Subwoofer is Big and heavy 10” (BUT comes with wheels) 12 x 17 x 12 +/-. The Entire Box come with 38 pieces - Batteries, Mounts, Screws Included, but to be rockin and rollin you need only the soundbars (detachable L/R) on the master control box, Subwoofer and Remote. Everything links itself and it even figures out the TV is ON/OFF and follows suite w/o programming, TRUE about Antennae TV, Tivo and up to 3 HDMI Inputs. Everything is intelligent and self Calibrating and the satellite speakers for the soundbar are magnetically locked and removable for placement, running for hours on rechargeable lithium or with USB-c plugs. The JBL App is NOT needed to enjoy but needs to open your home wifi to pair its Bluetooth to work, and lets you install Chrome cast to play music from the internet… A Rather Nice Feature I use a splitter for my ONE input HDMI source; this soundbar has issues with incoming signals that daisy chain on my splitter, nothing big. The JBL APP works well and gets things down to what you want but does not make up for the COMPLETE lack of any feasible Manual with the product.. Without online access it took me 2 days to use the old nerd way to know how to make cool work even cooler. A Simple thing like turning the soundbar off w/o the TV going into Standby mode or how to make the TIVO Remote Volume work, it took an AI CHATBOT 4 questionings to get the link to a more comprehensible users manual – its “Power button and CH+” till its turns off, Plug and play, multi detachable speaker and super subwoofer soundbar WHY would I need more than assemble, plug and enjoy!, it is for me after all, So I was Overly Pleased.

The JBL Bar 1000 looks innocuous at first glance. Long dark charcoal bar with speakers and a faceless black remote subwoofer. Check. But upon closer inspection, you discover that each end of the bar is detachable! Attached by magnets, you can place these satellite speakers just about anywhere within the room. Expand your soundstage or create a true surround sound environment. (The little fellas need to go back home to recharge occasionally, but the magnets vs. a mechanical connection make it super easy) Set-up was smooth and fast. The main bar and subwoofer plug into your electrical outlet, connect the bar to your TV with the included HDMI cable (or purchase an optical if you desire), charge up the satellites and walk thru a handful of steps to make sure everyone is communicating. Then…enjoy 880 watts of power emanating from the bar and 10” wireless subwoofer. Integrated software they call “PureVoice” optimizes clarity of dialogue, and a sound calibration feature and DTS:X 3D help you optimize 3d surround sound for your specific space. Coupled with Dolby Atmos, you’re enjoying cinema sound as it’s meant to be experienced. I’m just starting to appreciate the JBL One app. It allows you to customize equalization, music volume, auto-off timing and other features. Note that the satellite speakers can be “permanently” located and connected to a USB-C power source.

I bought this as an "open box" item during the BF/CB sale period. Before this soundbar, I had a Sony HT-S40R (Dolby 5.1) system. I wanted to upgrade the sound system to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. One thing I like about this system is the detachable wireless rear surround speakers. You can either have it attached to the main soundbar or place it behind your sofa. I have played quite a few Dolby Atmos "demo" content available on Your Tube and am very happy with the sound effects. The performance is pretty good for a medium-sized (16'x12') size room. eARC/ARC connection -- works as expected. Blue Tooth connection -- the unit has to be turned ON *and* in BT mode, for already paired devices to connect with it. Otherwise, the phone/tablet says "Connection failed." This is unlike the Sony HT-S40R which wakes up from standby and connects to my Blue Tooth devices without having to touch its remote! Holding back one star because of this feature missing in JBL 1000. It does have a RJ-45 LAN port but I have not been able to figure out its purpose. I could not find any online documentation nor did I find any settings for it on the "JBL One" Android app (still exploring it).

Excellent sound. Love the detachable speakers for perfect surround sound. Easy and convenient. Great for average side living rooms without all the wires of normal surround sound speakers.

The bass vibrates your soul, heavenly! The detachable speakers are so cool and bring out all of the surround sound!

Unbelievable sound bar the the money. Has great mids and highs and the 10 inch woofer puts out the best base that i have heard yet. The detachable speakers for surround sound makes it all the better. I love it. I would definitely recommend to give the a try.

The sound quality and easy set-up make this purchase well worth it. The wire-less speakers and subwoofer enable you to place them virtually anywhere in the house. Very happy with this purchase.

I replaced my Polk sound bar with satellite speakers for the JBL 1000 due to numerous issues with Polk not connecting or not functioning fully. Polls customer service was great and they tried to resolve the issues but we made the decision to return it and purchase the JBL system and boy does it produce amazing sound. I love the rechargeable satellite speakers that give quality sound especially with it being 100% wireless and what’s really nice, the sound bar will tell you when it is time to charge. The other nice feature is you can leave the satellite speakers connected to the sound bar and have full surround sound. I highly recommend this item. JBL has really out done themselves with this system. Again, highly recommended!!
