    I'll give 5 stars for it's awesome sound. The bass shakes my couch when cranked to level 5, the highest. It did work essily with my samsung s95d through the eARC. The app for this has an equalizer...kinda rudimentary but allowe low mid and high adjustments. My only complaints are each time it starts up it is in it's smart mode...i like it off abd there is a way to turn it off...but each time...kind of a pia...also one time it lost communication with my tv and i had to unplug it then it was fine.

    Great sound and easy to set up but loses connection often. We have to unplug it to reset it. If I hadn't thrown away the box I would probably return it because it's annoying.

    We love the JBL - BAR 500 when it's working. The sales associate assured me that it was compatible and "played nicely" with our Sony Bravia 77" TV. However, it randomly shuts off during use or simply won't connect when it's turned on with the TV. Sometimes it takes so long that it switches back to the internal TV speakers. Disappointing because it sounds amazing in our family room!

    The speaker did not sync automatically with the subwoofer out of the box and no clear instructions. I had to Google how to do it manually. The sound is not that clear and the bass is inadequate

    JBL puts out an excellent sound the only issue is the Samsung TV was no compatible and it kept cutting out of connectivity.

    As others have said. Sounds good when it works. Constantly disconnects.Have had to unplug and plug back in every two days or so. Would have returned but is passed Best Buy’s 15 day return policy. Luckily I got it on sale.

    It’s great and all only I feel as if the one I bought was defective. It will not connect to my tv every so often and it’s becoming an issue to keep trying to re-connect it every time I turn my tv on.

    I've had this for a couple weeks now and I successfully hooked it up to my TV and had it working. Unfortunately, the sound will only intermittently will work when watching TV. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - and pressing the TV button on the remote does nothing. Look elsewhere.

    My bar500 would drop out during mid movie. It had happen multiple times. I decided to return because it had happen too many occasions. The sound is decent for the price, a little muddy on my end.

      We appreciate your feedback. We're here to help with your JBL Bar 500. First, try to power cycle both devices by unplugging the power cables from the Bar 500 and your TV. Wait for two minutes, then plug them back in and turn them on. Next, check the connections and ensure the HDMI cable is firmly plugged into the HDMI ports (eARC) on both the soundbar and TV. Try using a different HDMI cable if possible. If the issue remains, please contact our customer support for further assistance. JBL

    JBL was a always a leader in quality. Now they are a leader in sub standard manufacturing. Now the sound of the sound bar in my opinion is about par, it is no way above the standard of sound bars on the market. The lack of connectivity issues and the constant unplugging the system to do a hard start almost on a daily basis and sometimes two times a day leaves a bitter taste to be desired. Along with the not even 30 days Best Buy will allow you to return the device. I would definitely not even bother with this system unless you like to be frustrated.

    Speaker sounds great but doesnt really matter when it consistently disconnects from hdmi to blue tooth or just turns off all of a sudden . Very dissatisfied

    Sales talked me into upgrading to the JBL sound bar for better product and sound. After only 1 week constantly losing connection to the Arc port. Have to constantly power down TV and sound bar to get 50% chance of working a day than have to start over again, Called support they told me to bring in sound bar (45 miles) to have geek squad test. Arrived with sound bar and they said they needed all components to test. Wanting me the customer to be longer without product and more time and miles to try to get my products working.

    Guess I should have checked these one star reviews before purchasing this... Connects to the TV just fine, HOWEVER, the sound is no where near as good as one would expect and the JBL One app is trash and won't connect to the wifi. Initial setup seemed to be fine, until the software update got to about 80%. It never made it to 100%, although the soundbar display said done and would not connect back to wifi again no matter what is done. Recommendation... Allow users to use the "advanced" features from the remote instead of forcing people to use a horribly designed app.

    JBL was a good company in the 70"s not anymore. the unit will not connect over half the time and will drop off at other times. I half to unplug the unit and restart it to bring it up. Other time it will not response to the remote. I am using the optical input, have not try the HMDi input. It does sound great when working,
