Overpriced at this point
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Way too expensive for something Nintendo knows for failing after average wear and tear.

Joycons are for mario, controlers for starfield.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The switch controller is ONLY good for playing simple games. If you plan on playing first person shooters, do yourself a favor and buy a controller. I will say, the motion ability of these is pretty fun. Using the controller template really sucks, and the joycons feel cheap.

Joy con controllers for Nintendo Switch
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Controllers for the Nintendo Switch system. I would give them 5 stars but I purchased these because my originals had succumb to the dreaded Joy Con drift.... These were no different. Already need new ones.

Love hate relationship
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do they work out of the box, yes. Will one or both controllers get the famous Joy-Con drift problem when you are you are at most vulnerable state when you are stressed out and just need the soothing sounds of Animal Crossing but you can’t enjoy it because the controller is not acting right, also yes. I have my original set, and the one that I just purchased with Geek Squad protection. Even though Nintendo offers a free return process for the controllers long past it’s actual warranty period, the first time I got the drift it took them about a month, to send me a replacement. When they work.. they are great. But when I need them to work, my soul screams in pain. It kills me that Nintendo still hasn’t figured out a way to prevent this from happening.

Left joycon not working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ugh Either I have awful luck or Nintendo has awful manufacturing because I has issues with the left joycon 3x in a row ! Seriously! The left joycon doesn't hold sync with Switch and inputs would be wrong . I returned it and I had the same issue with the next version. I had this issue with my launch system left joycon and had to call nintendo to fix it . That's what I did here , and they fixed it and shipped it back to me free of charge . Call 1-800-255-3700 if the controller feels to de sync and occasionally inputs are off . That being said once they do work it's nice . The HD rumble is a nice feature and more advanced motion controls work nicely . I miss a D pad but I do like you can play games with a single joycon. Now that I have 4 working joycon , I will never buy another set . Grey color looks adult and overall it's not bad . I wish it was cheaper but being able to split up and play 4 player with 2 joycon sets is nice . Battery life is fantastic. So yeah the issue with left joycon is a serious issue so that should give you caution. Maybe it's been resolved in newest controllers but still something to think about .

Just okay
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are pretty pricey for just a couple of controllers. The main benefit is you do get 2 controllers for spending a little more than you would for other consoles. They're small for adult hands, but are fine for kids which is the main target audience anyway. The removable expanders don't help too much and are somewhat wobbly until they snap in. They also stick when trying to remove them in a way that makes me feel like I'm going to break them even though I'm depressing the release button on the back, which is also in a terrible position since it's hard to avoid hitting other buttons when pressing the release. The build quality is questionable since after a few weeks of moderate to low use, the green controller already started having joystick drift. This can be fixed but it's annoying for it to happen so soon. Overall just okay for occasionally enabling 2 more people to play Mario Kart or Smash Bros.

This is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I'm reviewing this product solely on the principle of what it does as its intended. I myself have not experienced joycon drift on any of my pair of joycons but YMMV. Secondly I picked these up because I needed more controllers for smash bros which brings me to my first positive. You technically get two controllers with each pair of joycons when played with on their side so it eases the $80 price tag. Next positive are the colors which I think Nintendo tends to do right making each pair distinctive and unique. My one con I can think of which again I haven't experienced myself is the drifting issue which must suck for those that get it.

Beautiful colors, okay controllers
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Nintendo Switch system but I'm less enthused about the Joy-Cons. They have a tendency for the sticks to develop drift in a more faster means than your average controller with larger sticks, requiring more care to keep in shape. They're also a bit awkward to handle thanks to that stick placement. Honestly, if the kinds of games you and your fellow players (friends, family, whatever) require them, these are fine, but I'd rather use Pro Controllers or similar options for more traditional games on the Switch. AMAZING choice of colors though! Can't go wrong with the many vibrant choices Nintendo offers and this is probably my favorite combination.

An unfortunate necessity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I, like many others, prefer playing the Switch in handheld mode. Unfortunately, this means being at the mercy of the Joy-Cons. I have had a ton of issues with these, specifically the left Joy-Cons. I am now on my fifth pair. The first had a de-sync issue which Nintendo repaired. The second had an issue where pushing the left stick all the way up wouldn't fully register so characters would just walk instead of run. The third had an issue where even when I wasn't touching the left stick, the character would walk left by themselves. Then the fourth immediately had a mushy feel to the L button and the left stick made a clicking sound right out of the box. Issues 2 and 3 happened just outside of Nintendo's one year warranty, so I had no choice but to purchase a new pair. Nintendo really should not be charging $80 for these as they are cheaply made. They claim that it's actually 2 controllers, but the single Joy-Con functionality is way too limited for that to be true. I really cannot recommend these. So many have had issues with them, and they are far too overpriced for what you get. Of course, if you play mainly in handheld mode, you really have no other choice. If you are trying to decide between these or a Pro Controller for docked mode, stay far away from these and just get the Pro Controller.

You need em but they should do better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These joysticks start getting drift and becoming non responsive way faster than any other controllers I’ve had from different consoles. Playing crash bandicoot is difficult because I don’t feel they are as sensitive as PS4 controllers. For the price point, it seems like we are getting ripped off here. The only good thing is that you can send them in for repair which Nintendo does very quickly in my opinion. I like that they offer some fun colors in these and that they are very easy to use. I do wish they made bigger ones. I’m pretty small (5’2) and sometimes my hands cramp up I’ve I’m playing animal crossing for too many hours. Overall, I’ve owned a switch for almost 5 years and I’ve gone through 3 pairs and had them repaired through Nintendo. This is my fourth pair so we’ll see how long it lasts before needing repair. Each pair I’ve purchased previously has ended up with drift issues. You’ll need these controllers because you can’t play your switch without them but they’re not great and I wish Nintendo would release something way better but oh well.

Needs improvement.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These cost way too much, but what ya gonna do. They never last long and seem to need to replace them once a year. The knock off ones cost less but do not work well.

Joy-Cons
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got these joy-cons to add color to my switch. If you are going to buy Joy-Cons BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN! Joy-cons are notorious for drifting after long hours of use. This has been an issue since the launch of the system and hasn't changed. So it's worth the $20-$30 to be able to come in and get them replaced that day instead of shipping them to Nintendo for them to be repaired and being short controllers for several weeks while you wait.

Ok not the greatest option

Pricey Tech
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t get me wrong, I actually enjoy the Joycons. I think Nintendo struck gold when they created them, along with the Switch. But the amount of tech inside them causes them to be quite pricey. And mine only lasted two years before the left control stick started drifting - hence why I bought a replacement pair. I also wish they came in different colors (more variety) or that the red and blue options weren’t neon. (Online it doesn’t look so bad - in person it’s really noticeable)

They don't last long. Get warranty if possible.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Nintendo switch controllers are probably the cheapest material and the most expensive controller i ever owned in my life. i had to get new controller very 4-6month and at over $69.99 each. If you have this same issue, Get the warranty. Learned the hard way. Horrible duration for controllers.

Great until the controllers drift.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller is not meant for years of use. The analog sticks start drifting, the buttons stop being responsive, and the device that locks the joycons to the console wears down... How do you charge almost 90 dollars for such delicate controllers made of plastic??? I bought a new one and had to return it because it was faulty out the box. This is an ongoing Nintendo issue beware

Good color, standard joycons, too expensive.
|Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, the price is too much for these things, but I know they are the Nintendo brand and are exactly the same as the ones you get when you buy the switch (just in different colors).

Low Quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are really expensive. The original ones that came with my son's Switch broke pretty soon after purchasing. So, we had to replace them to the tune of $75. If the controllers are going to be $75 they should at least be durable/high-quality. Improvement is needed Nintendo.
