Before installing this I had the stock head unit that came with my car, which would CONSTANTLY skip when using the CD player. I was headed to graduate school this fall as a commuter, and would be spending a lot of time in the car. For minimal money this stereo gives a great sound in my 99 Toyota Camry. A brief overview: The sound is amazing It's easy to use Bluetooth is convenient, great for phone calls as well, but admittedly I don't use it often. Plays my CDs without any skipping, and has an amazing sound Easily connects with my iPhone 4 with USB cable, charging and playing music at the same time. This allowed me to finally get rid of my "tape deck auxiliary input" and separate phone charger system. Finally down to a single cord! There is a microphone that comes with the unit, but I personally don't use it. I love how there are presets for equalizing the balance of sound dependent on the style of music or your preference. It really makes a difference when I'm listening to "Hard Rock" versus "Dance". The colors are fun! There are a TON of options to play with in the lights, fading and changing colors. LOVE IT! All the other features are pretty standard (radio, presets, etc), aside from it's special connections to Pandora and iHeartRadio. I don't use them often but it's just like using your phone or MP3 player to play music, nothing significantly special about it. One of the great aspects was that I didn't have to buy an adapter kit or anything, it fit right into where the stock unit was. After leaving the library past 9pm at night, the drive home is much more tolerable when you have the music up loud and the fading dynamic colors. A great investment as someone who spends A LOT of time in the car. Well worth the money spent.

The JVC Unit is an outstanding unit for a low price. The Bluetooth feature is remarkable as well as the hands free phone feature. I am very pleased with the unit and the installation expert.

Wonderful radio! My fiancé loves it. The only issues we are having is that sometimes the Bluetooth acts a little funny. Most people will not like it because you have to take a minute to look at all the settings. It is worth sitting there and figuring it all out instead of getting impatient. We love the color effects and that both of our phones can be connected to the Bluetooth at the same time. I installed this in our 2013 Jeep Patriot and it was a breeze as long as you have the right tools and know what you are doing.

This is the second JVC I have bought. I have one installed in my car. Love the features and the price is fantastic.

I've bought "Dual" brand car stereo's, JVC is a much better brand.

I researched radios for my 2003 Honda Element for months before settling on this one. I already had the factory 7 speaker system in my car including subwoofer, so I didn't need new speakers. The radio offers a lot of features, so much so that I carry the manual in my car door because It's not completely intuitive. I love the colors and how you can pick a different color for each part of the radio facing which is divided into 3 zones. My car has a blue and gray interior so I chose blue, green and white colors. The installation was done by Best Buy, and they did an awesome job. They were friendly and honest. For example, I bought the installation kit through Best Buy but I didn't need all the parts, so they refunded me the parts not needed. They also took the time to explain all the features. I love the Bluetooth to play my iTunes and I now have hands free calls through the radio and speakers. Awesome purchase and great value for the money. I would recommend this product.

Got this for my girlfriend as a gift as I wanted her to have hands-free calling. Installed this myself in her Toyota Yaris and it makes her factory speakers sound incredible, major upgrade from factory stereo. Very easy to install, and customizable color scheme on the unit is very nice and my girlfriend loves it. Bluetooth works great with her iPhone 5c. USB connection also works perfect. I updated the firmware on the unit by downloading the latest version from the company website and put it on a thumb drive. Prior to this the Bluetooth would intermittently skip, nothing major but noticeable every couple of minutes. The firmware upgrade seems to have fixed it.

I upgraded from my stock system. The double din looks great in my dash. Bluetooth connection is fast and easy. Works well with Spotify as well as the android music app. Forward and back controls work but the name of the song does not display. USB connection does not work with my note 5 (but I knew that when I purchased, I could not find any systems under 200 that would work with Android). Love the adjustable colors (separate tones for the top and bottom and you get to adjust red blue and green...the color possibilities are almost limitless). The only thing that I would say is it takes a minute to figure out the controls (you have to hold down the menu button for the menu to come up for example) but once you figure it out its very simple. Overall this is a great product and I am very happy with my purchase.

I looked at many different radios, but decided to save $$$ and get a non-touch screen unit. As far as I can tell, there is no loss in functionality, and the unit is easy to use. It pairs and works great with the iPhone, and I really like that the unit can call Siri. My other radio does not have this and you have to invoke Siri from the phone itself. The sound quality is just as good as any unit that does not have extra amplifiers or other crazy enhancements. Bottom line – No touch screen, but a very good unit that costs less.

Replaced my factory Mazda Radio with this JVC unit and have been very pleased. I had considered getting a touch screen model, but then decided from a practical usability standpoint, buttons and a large knob work better rather than navigating menus while driving. This unit looks awesome and I was able to get the color setup to match my instrument cluster. I chose a conservative non blinking color, but the unit allows creative matching of blinking and colors if so desired (such as “Techno”!). Bluetooth works flawlessly with my iPhone 4 for streaming music. Sound from the unit is beautiful and can be adjusted to suit the music. Unit lighting can be set to different levels for day and night. I installed myself. Took me less than an hour, but I did also purchase a wiring harness specifically for my Mazda as well as a Metra plastic mounting bracket which made installation a breeze. I like how the colors on the wiring harness from the radio exactly matched the color wires on my Mazda aftermarket wiring harness. In terms of cons, I still have not mastered how to get the microphone setup in such a way that people can hear me clearly while I am driving, though I can hear them very clearly on the vans speakers. Could be how I set it up. So overall, this JVC is a great unit packed with everything I need and when considering the price paid at Best Buy (was on clearance when I bought) it is an amazing value. Since I just purchased I can’t comment on long term quality, but can say that the unit feels very solid with all buttons and knob having a good solid feel. It is also from JVC, so I feel that the build quality should be decent.

I love the features the stereo has. There are so many color options for the display. I love have Bluetooth and the stereo just sounds great in my car.

I had this installed in my daughter's Jag X-Type. It looks GREAT! The Bluetooth feature is her favorite application. She uses it constantly. I like the sound. Great dynamic range. Good bass and very versatile. Easy to use. Good menu. I teamed this with Alpine speakers for a broad dynamic range. Excellent highs and good lows.

I like almost everything about this radio/cd player. The sound quality and ease of use are better than I expected. I really like the blue tooth connection with my cell phone. Conversations are clear and easy to understand. The only thing I am not real happy with it the display is hard to see during the day even witht he brightmess turned all the way up. It is not a deal breaker though.

My daughter just got her drivers licence, saved her money for an affordable old Subaru Forrester, wanted Bluetooth and an iPod jack. Saw this online, nice reviews, great price! Had BB install same day in less than an hour. Happy 16 year old!! Cool features and many that we will never use... Like most things these days, a lot of sub menus to set things up, but with that many features, that is expected. Good thing the 16 y.o. Figured it out in 2 minutes. Overall Great Price for Great Features. Not for audiophiles

This JVC deck is really sweet. The installation instructions are easy to follow - note that I soldered the connections between the radio plug and the Metra plug [that I purchased at Best Buy] for connecting to the car's wiring system. Also used heat-shrink tubing ("spaghetti") and finished the harness fabrication with friction tape. I now have blue-tooth (BT) connectivity with my phone in my 2002 Toyota. The sound is terrific, and I matched the color of the radio to my interior scheme. Nothing like a radio with a green display when the dash and instruments are orange. No, my JVC is orange just like my instrument cluster. I like the fact that I can play Pandora in my car on long trips. One draw-back so far has been that some people have complained that it is hard to have a hands-free BT conversation while driving due to road noise. Probably shouldn't be having a conversation then either, so pulling off the road makes the conversation just fine. Also, you will need the instructions to set-up the features, as there are so many options for colors, etc., that are not intuitive, at least not for me. Although, my teen-age daughter figured things out without the instructions.... This is a great receiver at a great price.

My 16 year old got a "new" car for her birthday, in which the radio did not work. We came to BestBuy to replace. This radio jumped out at her, with the bright color display. We were between this and the touchscreen version, and we decided to go with this one for durability and my own fears that she would be too preoccupied with a touch screen display while driving. We are happy with our decision. The install was fast, the display is gorgeous, and this radio is very user friendly. I would recommend to anyone who needs a low-mid dollar set up. The fact that it comes with free un-install is also very nice, should we change cars later. One star lost for not being compatible with XM.

What a great replacement for the stock system that was dying. Very reasonable price and lots of features. Easy to learn to set controls and really like the variable color display. Liked the first one so much I bought a second for the other vehicle.
