Kensington track ball works great, smooth and fast, better than a mouse. As a creative person I use this item 14/6 Im on my third one in ten years so they last well and are durable.

I have been looking for a replacement for my Logitech model that has been discontinued. I like the layout but the is no scroll wheel to use. I use mine so much that I cannot use this mouse. If you do not care about the scroll option, this mouse is great.

I bought this mouse for my laptop, because most of the time I sit on a couch with it I don't always have room to move the mouse around. So I thought a stationary mouse would be the key. It worked great, it was plug and play. Although, finding the software to set up the advanced mouse options took some doing. The software on their web site would not install on my computer, but I eventually found the right one via a different link. I was able to set up the buttons I wanted. It has no scroll wheel, which I was unaware how much I used it until i got this mouse. There is a different on that has one around the ball. also the mouse can be a little jumpy when trying to move it over small spaces. Such as trying the click a specific letter to make a correction. Ultimately this mouse is not for me, I bought it as a test to see if I would like this style of mouse. It is very easy on the wrist, you barely move it at all, just your fingers. Over all it is a great mouse!!

I've had shoulder issues for years and this mouse was recommended to me. I have eliminated shoulder issues completely.

    Ball security

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

    Good value, poor design

At first I wasn't sure about the design of this, the widely spaced buttons looked awkward and clumsy. After using it for a short while, I realized how wrong I'd been. The buttons are actually much better placed than the photographs of this item would indicate, and it's been very comfortable for me to use. My only complaint is that the ball itself is not secured inside the socket in any way, so if it's jarred enough or the base is tilted enough, the ball will fall out.

Okay, but would prefer additional buttons

This Kennsington model does not have any additional buttons (other than the left & right), so it's more limited than models that do, althought it's still better than a mouse.
