Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the K-Duo 12-Cup Coffee Maker and Single Serve K-Cup Brewer for its convenience, versatility, and space-saving design. They appreciate the ease of use, the ability to brew both regular coffee and single-serve K-Cups, and the compact size that doesn't take up too much counter space. However, some customers have concerns about the small water reservoir, durability issues, occasional leaks, and instances of the machine stopping unexpectedly.

Pouring Issue with this Coffee Pot

Overall we are happy with this purchase. 3 stars only because pouring the coffee from the pot is a challenge. It's a bad design and usually makes a mess. Brews fast and the single serve works great.

The finish on the warming plate for the coffee pot is already peeling off and it is only 26 days that I have had it.

I like the idea of having the carafe and the pods. Unfortunately, when using the carafe the coffee is not an ideal temp. I have to microwave it to warm it up. Wouldn’t buy it if I’d known that was going to be an issue.

Still undecided if I totally like this coffee maker. I love it’s concept but it has some quirks. Like you have to put in 6 cups of water for it to allow you to brew one kcup. Plus the carafe drips with every pour and it turned a smokey brown when we had a little coffee on the warmer mode. (Not empty) I really like how fast it brews and that it’s shorter than most makers. And the coffee tastes good! Also I don’t love how it when down in price 30 days after i bought it!

Carafe Sucks, Everything Else is Just Meh...

It's a great space saving design. However, you can't make a single cup while a pot is brewing and it is impossible to pour from the carafe without it spilling each and every time. It would have been great if I could use my old Mr Coffee carafes instead, but they made theirs 0.25 inches taller so they don't engage the anti-drip button properly. I hate when companies make stupid little changes just to lock you in to their parts and service. We're keeping it because it's convenient, but when it inevitably dies we will definitely be buying another brand.

Really good coffee maker that is easy to use and make good coffee. Only complaints are the pot spills when you pour and the double scoop it comes with is really only a 1.5 scoop.

Coffee grounds make a complete mess all over the top filter basket area. I’ve tried just putting a minimum amount of 8 Tbs of coffee grounds in and it still makes a mess. It’s supposed to hold up to 15 Tbs. Coffee tastes great in it. The K-cup side works great. Water reservoir works great. The only trouble I’ve had is the grounds exploding everywhere up top and down through the bottom of the filter basket. It takes me forever to clean up after I’ve brewed a pot of delicious coffee each time. It’s beyond frustrating and disappointing. I want to love this machine. I’ve called Keurig before I’ll be throwing in the towel, today, and their suggestion was to use a pre-ground, different coffee than I’ve been using.

This coffee maker brews a decent cup of coffee, and I love the single serve feature. It also has a reservoir so one doesn’t have to fill it with the exact amount of water for the amount of coffee one is brewing. It does not have a 1-4 cup feature, and and a 6 oz single serving is the smallest it will brew, so I either use a lot of k-cups or brew just a bit too much coffee (it’s just me in the house). But setting up the delayed brew ( I set up the coffee machine the night before) has me scratching my head! It would be perfect if I brewed the same amount of coffee every day, but I don’t so I’m never sure if I have the right amount of grounds for the amount of coffee the machine wants to brew, if it does at all! It shouldn’t be rocket science.

I was very excited to buy my first Keurig. The K-Duo is a beautiful design both cosmetically and functionally. My wife and I wanted to brew big pots in the morning and either single serves when it was only one of us or for a cup of coffee or tea during the day or afternoon. It worked great for a few weeks. We may have ran into the same problem another reviewer did. We start to brew the pot and it stops after only a small amount and won't finish the pot (wasting our coffee). I then hear what sounds like a pump and/or motor going until the unit turns off. I will be contacting Customer Service and/or returning. I really want a replacement and I hope this is simply a rare defective unit, not a problem with K-Duo in general.

    Some shortcomings

First Keurig and it works okay but...you MUST use the preset cup amounts on the unit so trial and error will tell you what size cup to use! And it NEVER makes a full 12 cups. I have to leave 1 cup or so of water in the carafe before brewing. Also if you add too much coffee to the filtered part the grinds will overflow, making a mess! So measure 12 cups of ground coffee EXACTLY. You cannot add more to make it stronger. So get used to 12 cups of weak coffee or 11 cups of strong! Other than that, easy to use and works well.

It brews good coffee, but there is no permanent/reusable mesh filter made for the carafe side. Paper filters will sometime leave the enclosure full of difficult to clean grounds. Too bad because it is an otherwise good coffee maker.

We have been happy with the coffee brewed using the Keurig K-Duo, however brewing/noise is rather loud. Also, it was difficult to find a water filter starter kit. Had to order. Disappointed that it was not included with the Brewer.

    Poorly Designed Carafe

Makes good coffee, the k-cup side is fine, but the carafe is poorly designed and dribbles coffee down the side of the carafe no matter how carefully poured. To Keurig's credit, when I called customer service they sent another carafe right away, but it was exactly the same with exactly the same problems. Keurig has known about this problem for quite some time. Why don't they just redesign the carafe? I spent a lot on this coffee maker and am very disappointed. I'll choose a different brand next time.

I like the two ways to make your coffee, but hate that you can't reset the warmer plate. Once it goes off, the only way to turn it on again is to make a fresh pot of coffee. Also, sometimes it leaks water all over the cabinet. I thought it was our fault when filling, but even after being extra careful, it still does it once in a while.

Not what I thought it would be. Since it a daul brew though I would be able to use each at same time. Husband drinks pots of decaf a day. I either dink dark roast regular coffee or tea. As I work and he is disabled and home all day I use single brew side I dont like the fact that you have to turn pot off to use single brew side. Also cannot turn warmer on independant ly. will be replaceing as soon as can find other modle that meets my needs.

It works ok. It's just two basic appliances put together. There's no bells and whistles. It is a basic drip coffee maker on one side and a one cup keurig on the other.

Would've gave it five but there is two big problems. 1) the pot leaks like a siv, I remember my mother's having a similar issue. 2) the reserve tank has to be filled a bit while brewing or it says add water towards the end. The individual maker is nice though. (Didnt come with single brew ground k-cup, disappointment)

The K-cup side of the unit is temperamental. It stopped working at the 16 day mark, and took some troubleshooting to get working again. Sometimes when running the K-Cup side it spits a not so insignificant amount of water out into the pot as well. This unit is finicky, and I don’t expect it to last more than a year. However, it looks nice, and works well often enough that it isn’t worth the hassle of returning under a warranty. Buy when on sale, and be aware of poor quality control. Use it heavily in the first 2 weeks to avoid missing the return window, in the case you got a bad lot.
