    Good microwave, lousy finishes

We had an earlier model of this microwave that lasted 7 years. Then it stopped rotating. Purchased this model on 7/23/19. Within the first week, the plastic film over the keypad had knicks. No on has long fingernails or used anything which would cut it. By 1 month mark, the plastic is completely messed up over the start button so you cannot read the text. There are two other places where it is also detached. I cannot return it to Best Buy, as there was only a 14 day window. If you buy it, be aware that your keypad will look trashy for the entire time you have this product. So disappointing, KitchenAid. I thought I bought a quality product. It looks far worse than a very cheap no-name brand.

I bought this model because it is exactly the same dimensions as the one I was replacing. I wondered why it cost twice as much as every other microwave, but I just figured it was better quality. Now 1 month later the lamination on the key pad it already lifting. My mom has a kitchen aid and said it's doing the same thing. Seems like a manufacturing issue. I will be looking to return or exchange.

This convection microwave works very well. I sometimes need 2 ovens or I just don’t want to have to use the large wall oven and this fits the bill. Ours is installed in a cabinet so we also purchased the specified trim kit. The cabinet needed some trimming from the previous old microwave and we had to move the outlet due to the ductwork. We also had to trim the rails slightly so the microwave seated in the indentations correctly.

I have installed the microwave as a built in. The trim kit I ordered with it did not fit at all. I am using the old one that came with my Maytag micowave. Good luck finding the right trim in black stainless. I am very pleased with the microwave oven. I purchased this product because of the convection oven feature and that because it's a countertop microwave oven that I could install as a built in like my previous microwave. I have not used the convection oven feature because I have not read the instructions in the manual yet. Looking forward to testing it out.

Quit working only after having it a little over 2 years. I contacted KitchenAid to see if they can offer any assistance and was told there is nothing they can do. They don't even sell replacement part. so after spending over $600.00 on a microwave that only lasted 2 years i would say stay clear. prior to this i owned a Panasonic and it lasted me over 10 years and was 1/3 the price. features sold me on this. sharing my story and hopes no one else throws there money away.Purchase date: 5/25/2018. quit working on 12/9/2020.

We had bought this unit to replace our 20-year old KitchenAid KCMS135HSS-0 which had quit, The old unit was built-in and we needed a replacement of approximately the same size. The new unit works fine and we like the added modes combining conventional heating with microwave heating. The broiler mode is somewhat less powerful than our conventional oven. We were hoping to fit the unit without any complications but unfortunately the opening of the old trim kit is a little bit too narrow for the new unit and the trim kits offered for this new unit are too wide (we need 24 inches or so, instead of 27 to fit our cabinet)

I had to return the same product to.Best Buy because the lining inside the glass was slipping between the glass door. Best Buy made an exchange and made plans for the product to be shipped directly to my home since it was not in stock. When it arrived it did not sit flat on my counter. I thought one of the bottom feet (rollar) needed adjusting or they placed a short one on by mistake. I tried to call kitchen Aid but it was Sunday and they were closed. I was directed to bring it back to the store. The gentleman from appliance was very helpful and he came to check it out. He said it wasn’t a bottom foot issue it was that the total frame was bent. He tried to order another but the stainless steel was not available for pickup or delivery, only the black. So I am now on hold without a microwave waiting for it to become available since the money for the microwave and extended warranty were placed on the store Best Buy Card waiting for the arrival of the machine.

The oven has been in place for 3 weeks. My wife wanted a convection oven to replace our old microwave. Mainly due to the fact that our commercial oven takes so long to warm up, so far this has surpassed our expectations.

To purchase this Black Stainless Microwave it is only online in my area We bought the suite elsewhere and everything matches. It’s too expensive for a microwave! Not impressed with the materials that seem cheaper. Our other microwave was still working and over 29 years old from Montgomery Wards and couldn’t handle the popcorn. We loved the convection that we had before, so this was a preference and the countertop. The Kitchen Aid is much more quiet and not as heavy. The electrical cord is too short for placing it elsewhere, but the countertop.

The oven is ok. This is the second unit, as the first one died and stopped powering on after less than3 years. The replacement had a loose side panel that was buzzing whenever the oven was operating. We fixed it ourselves. Reliability may be the trade off in order to have the convection feature.

our first convection microwave, still getting use to all the features but it cooks and warms good. we've had a "door" code show up a few time and had to reopen and close to use the controls, not sure if it will be an on-going problem or need fixing
