Kong: Skull Island is one gnarly monster movie that doesn’t hide the monsters in the darkness or create tension by having them lurk in the background. Instead, it puts monsters front and center in the spotlight, and they come through with shining colors. Kong has never been more thrilling, and his nasty opponents make for such compelling monster fights that you’ll be even more disappointed in the fact that we didn’t get to see Godzilla do this much in his own return in 2014. Charged with a 1970s rock and roll soundtrack, Kong: Skull Island also never loses steam. It plows through an endless array of vicious monster attacks, all presented through a lens that masterfully captures the action, scenery and delightfully grim adventure that Jordan Vogt-Roberts has assembled on screen.

This film is what the fans have been waiting to see the "KING" KONG should be on the big screen. The visuals, the action, the story all near perfect in presentation. The 3D, the 4K all 1000% stunning. The audio off the charts. This steebook is definitely something that should be in EVERYONE's film collection. This movie review coming from age 55+. I thought it was a very good movie with much time spent on detail of the set and the characters. It may be scary for young children but I enjoyed watching it. The ending was not what I expected. It is a must see for anyone who grew up in our generation watching the classic King Kong.

I am a Godzilla fan, but I must admit that Kong is beast in this film. I like the haikus since I was a kid, and usually Americanizing them ruins them. Yet, lately they have been hitting the Mark. This film is one example. Buy it!

I purchased this film simply because it has an Atmos soundtrack and sci-fi is my thing. I wish I had gone ahead and purchased the 4k UHD version of it, but it was under $10 so... I'm happy

who doesn't love a good monster fighting action movie with i'm sure you've seen the trailer some some were you know that this is a must add to the collection

Kong was just trying to protect the island and the people that was on the island, he was awesome... I give it a thumbs up....

King Kong rules the move screen. Way better than the last Kong movie. Lots more monsters and action. A must see.

Very entertaining in it's own rite, this movie is one in a series of films coming out that deal with Kaiju. Take note, the movie has nothing to do with any of the other movies that came before it referring to King Kong. This Kong is a young (and still growing) apelike creature that will eventually duke it out with Godzilla who, by the way, is significantly older and larger than Kong. But again, Kong is still growing. This is noted in the film and is an important fact. If they were to go head to head at this point, Godzilla would knock the monkey-snot out of Kong. After all, short of his strength, Kong has no other powers, unlike Godzilla who can breathe radioactive fire. And if you believe the older films fly, jump, and dance. And don't even get me started on how Godzilla deals with Bambi. Yeah, look that one up on YouTube. This particular story, however, deals with a group of soldiers who are there to escort a scientific survey team that want to prove that the rumors are true. That there is a very large lifeform (or two) living on an island that, until this mission, has been uncharted. Turns out, the island is indeed there, and so are the big beasties. Mayhem ensues. Enjoy.

I am not a movie snob. When it comes to movies, I want to be entertained. This does not mean I do not like a good movie or a classic movie. I love them; however, after the work week, I want to to watch a mindless movie that will just entertain me, and Kong Skull Island is the type of movie that fits this criteria. It is an awesome movie. It is a paper-thin plot but the plot does not interest me in this type of movie. I bought this movie because I wanted to watch Kong break military toys and fight other monsters, and it does a great job delivering this. A movie like this could have backfired and this one did not. Even though I previously mentioned a paper-thin plot, this movie does have more plot than a regular monster movie and the characters are more developed than in other monster movies. The 4K presentation looks awesome. However, it does take a moment or two to get used to the clarity. If one likes an entertaining action movie, one cannot go wrong with this movie, and the 4k presentation is very good.
