A few minor issues but a great choice
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. Sadly, the screws come out kind of easy but I just tighten them every few months. And the grips came off but I use this laptop heavily so it might've been my fault. It also crashed a few times playing some heavy games but I upgraded the ram and it runs good. And I was getting an error but called Lenovo and it was just a simple update which they fixed. Other than that, this laptop runs games perfect. The only thing is the battery dies quick so you have to leave it plugged in if you are running games. Might last about an hour doing light stuff. A half an hour running heavy games. Awesome graphics too!

You won't get GPU's full power on this laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for everything technically. Got it for schoolwork, gaming, content creation. This laptop works great for normal stuff and schoolwork. On the other hand, it does somewhat good in gaming. In several games that I played on this laptop I had a good experience with FPS and no stutters and lag but with the visuals I got jagged edges and shimmering objects. Another downside to this laptop is that it's locked on optimus mode. NVIDIA Optimus technology intelligently optimizes your notebook PC, providing the outstanding graphics performance you need, when you need it, all the while extending battery life for longer enjoyment. But it also prevents you from having your GPU's full power in games. On this laptop, because of optimus, the display is connected to intel instead of nvidia, which means you can't have display settings and other stuff in the nvidia control panel. If you are a hardcore gamer and you want a laptop that will be like a desktop, give you the best performance and the GPU work at it's fullest, don't buy this laptop, you'll regret it like I did! As you can see in the picture, there is no Hybrid mode, which technically means you can't use the discreet GPU only (forced to use nvidia optimus). In the 2nd picture, there is no port connected directly to the RTX 3050, so laptop gpu so using an external monitor to bypass optimus will not work. Not in the Bios either!

I dont run heavy tripple A games on it like call of duty because I use consoles for that but its a solid gaming laptop. Its fast and worth it if youre looking for an entry level 1080p machine. I actuslly didnt even know it came with a backlit keyboard when i bought it so thats a plus.

I had it for about a year now...
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love love love this laptop. A great gaming laptop for light gaming and to also do college work. A little big and a bit heavy in my opinion. Its not a portable laptop to carry around like a macbook and also the battery drains really fast but over all best graphics card and processor. I recommend for anybody who's looking to get it for gaming and to do work on it. Don't walk, RUN!!

BEST for the price range, caters to upgrades!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great 'gaming' laptop without all of the little cosmetic annoyances like RGB and looking like it comes out of Battlestar Galactica. The front panel of the laptop is super clean and is just begging to be stickerbombed. It runs things well due to the RTX 3050, and has support for DLSS which really helps things out in terms of framerate. The battery is nothing to write home about, and one of the first upgrades you should buy for it is more RAM. 8GB is rough to work with, but that's the compromise you get for the purchase price. Then, another SSD. Lenovo seems to support upgrades, as it comes with a little bag of goodies with screws and other materials need for hardware upgrades. (Which is really nice!) It doesn't run too hot, as theres plenty of heat vents and a decent cooling system, albeit I haven't tested it on max settings with something really demanding. Things run pretty smoothly, and the CPU is up to snuff for things you'd run on a laptop. The GPU wonderfully renders things cleanly (Just make sure to disable battery saving options for the most performance) and it runs Blender and Sony Vegas well, so it's a good mobile work machine. I took a risk buying this with 0 reviews, but for the sale price of $600, I'm very satsified. Games tested: Battlefield 4, Counter-Strike: Source, Risk of Rain 2, Call of Duty: Modern-Warfare (and others). I like Lenovo, and would love a little swag bag.

Great laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop for open-box $550 instead of $940, so I got an extremely good laptop for the price. I think you could get a slightly better laptop for $940 but definitely not for $550. I upgraded the RAM with another 8 GB RAM stick for a total of 16 GB of RAM. I am happy with this purchase. Pros: - 120 hz display, very smooth - nothing wrong with the keyboard, speakers, touchpad, webcam, or microphone - upgradeable RAM and storage - the CPU and GPU have run everything so far, and I think it is capable of running most games at medium settings or higher with 60+ fps - has a full-size keyboard without feeling cramped - comes with Windows 11 Cons: - white backlit keyboard, but no RGB - Easy to see fingerprints on the body - A little heavy, but that is expected for a gaming laptop and much lighter than any desktop - No SD card slot - 2 USB ports in the middle of the right side, so your external mouse cord can get in the way of the actual mouse if you use your mouse really close to the laptop - pretty short battery life

Great Budget Gaming Laptop with some upgrades need
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently purchased this laptop for my son for school and casual gaming. Processor and graphics card are the star of the show leaving RAM and Storage lacking. After setup, I immediately had to purchase a single 8GB stick and 1TB HHD. Luckily, bestbuy had a PNY 8GB PC4-3200 stick for $27.99 and the crucial 1TB SSD cost $60.99. Continuing on things I did not like, case can be difficult to open if you don't have one of those tools to pry and slide over the edges to lift the bottom case after removing 10 screws. There's a Hard drive caddy, ribbon to connect SSD to motherboard (ensure that blue part of the ribbon faces upwards) and some screws to hold everything in place. Once I upgraded the Storage and RAM, the improvements were significant considering the fact that you are now accessing dual memory and doubling the bandwidth for gaming/task. Also, with 2 hard drives, the Nvme will be used for windows and some programs where games will be stored on SSD. As for battery life, that thing will keep you close to a wall for power as the battery is on the smaller side and it's a gaming laptop. So I would expect no more than 2 hours even when the 3050 is not in use and the onboard IRIS graphics handles all the load. So to wrap up, at $549 this is hard to beat as I've only seen laptops with GTX 1650s in that budget space but you will need to upgrade RAM and add a SSD or Nvme( forgot to mention that Lenovo does not include the screw/mount to hold up the Nvme). Plus battery life is terrible

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 82K1015EUS, for your son. This model configuration ships with a Integrated 45Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 8 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Almost Best Budget PC.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as a budget school laptop, in terms of looks, it is a fundamental but sleek-looking laptop. Be warned, it is a fingerprint magnet so you'll have to be wiping down often. The keyboard is only one color white and the screen looks great. One thing Lenovo does not advertise is the 120hz display. Now in terms of performance, The intel i5 in this is phenomenal and quick, paired with an RTX 3050, you'll be able to run most AAA titles without issue. As loud as the fans get when gaming, This specific laptop runs very cool thanks to the design of grabbing air from a subtle grill on top of the keyboard. After running Battlefield 2042 for 3 hours, the laptop was cool to the touch. The issue I found was the single channel 8 GBs of RAM that the PC comes with. Because it is one stick, being single-channeled can come with speed issues when multitasking. Luckily for the consumer, Lenovo built this laptop to be able to be upgraded, So I would for sure recommend buying another 8 GB of RAM and installing it. 256GB of memory is enough for documents but if you're going to be gaming on this, I would recommend getting a secondary memory. You are able to do this with either another m.2 NVME or a 2.5 inch of your choice. Lenovo has made it very easy to upgrade this laptop which I am very happy about. Overall, After installing another 8 GB of RAM and a new M.2 NVME SSD, I am nothing but happy with this laptop. If you are able to catch this on a deal, this is a must buy.

Decent enough
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It goes its job for the most part. Battery life leaves a lot to be desired, but this is the case with most Gaming laptops. Gaming performance is hit or miss. The lack of VRAM in the GPU definitely hurts for newer titles. The screen ended up with a very slight burn in mark a few weeks after getting this device. Only noticeable on dark screens, and not a huge issue but something to be mindful of. Overall, this laptop works for portable gaming, but it definitely should not be used as a main gaming system.

Good Value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $600 this laptop is great for the price. Spec wise you're looking at a great CPU (i5-11300H), RTX 3050 and a 120Hz display. The only downsides are the 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. Haven't gotten to upgrading the SSD yet, but upgrading to 16GB of RAM is highly recommended. 8GB on Windows 11 is a huge struggle. You don't have a lot of headroom for browser tabs and RAM-intensive games. For example, Devil May Cry 5 takes up about 4GB of RAM (maybe a bit more, I forgot), and that's with 16GB of RAM installed. I'm looking at about 50% of memory being used with no other programs open except Steam. Not only is DMC5 RAM hungry, I noticed much better performance with 16GB. With 8GB I was getting 60 FPS, but with 16GB I was getting a stable 120 (capped at 120FPS). Never knew that having more RAM would increase performance. Overall though, it performs great.
