I enjoy my Lap Top, it is very light and I travel with everywhere I go. Easy to use, the touch screen is great, I also use as a Tablet.

First startup was a little tricky as the YOGA would not turn on until I plugged in the power cable. Once plugged in I was able to do the initial setup that was typical Windows 10 with the new to me option of fingerprint login! It was a couple of minutes to setup a fingerprint which seemed a bit long compared to what I have dealt with on phones but not to bad and worth it for the ease of use factor. After initial setup the first power up took a few minutes and after logging in was given a blank screen with only the cursor showing. Restarted and same thing happened, folded the Yoga into tablet mode with no change so turned off Yoga and powered on and this time things worked as normal. Not sure what caused the issue or if flipping into tablet fixed the issue? Start ups are now around 5-7 seconds desktop while using the fingerprint log in. Gotta love SSD's! The Lenova YOGA is great looking 2 in 1 with a solid build feel and with the 8th gen Intel CORE i7, 12gb of ram and a 256gb ssd drive performance has been extremely good so far with apps loading quickly and videos playing lag free. There is 1 usb 3, 2 micro usb type c and a mic/headphone connection. File transfer via the usb 3 port from an external hdd was fast with a 6.5gb video file transferring in under a minute. The keyboard works well with the keys having a slight curved feel to them and with areas on both sides of the track pad to rest your hands comfortably without accidently hitting the track pad. The track pad responds well to taps and scrolling without any jumpiness to it. While the pen is a nice addition I found myself not using it very often as the button placement felt awkward to me being more toward the middle of the pen. It's location takes some getting used to when trying to take it out and you have to pay attention when putting it back as it only goes in one way. Again it's a nice addition and probably more useful to most other people. I like the 13.9" FHD screen with it's very good brightness, clear picture and great colors. Though the glossy finish is a finger print magnet and a bit harder to see bright lit areas. The speakers work surprisingly well providing very good sound for music and videos in laptop mode but are a bit softer in tablet mode as the speakers are not facing you. Battery life has been very good while doing everyday stuff like email, browsing the net or watching movies. Watch a 1hour and 30 minute movie with screen brightness at 100% and using bluetooth wireless headphones the battery drain was around 20% and this is on the first charge which is sitting at 30% on the Better performance setting. Overall I feel this Yoga is a solid performer for everyday use. For me the tablet mode is good for playing some games or watching videos with headphones while the laptop mode has better speaker performance and more useable to me. One other tthing is the box looks cool and even cooler when you open it.

I've been a Lenovo user for quite some time now. The laptop works decently and the touch screen is a great feature. My major issue is the charger that came with it. Ever since I purchased the product, the charger does not connect normally. I need to maneuver the cable a certain way to get the laptop to charge. I have attached a photo of what works for me but I cannot know how it will work for others. The charger is different from the other Lenovo models I have used previously, so I cannot use those. Additionally a pop up sometimes appears that tells me that it is slow charging and to use the charging cable that came with the laptop. However, the only charger I have used with the laptop is the one that came with it. It is frustrating, especially since the charger might move while I am charging at night and I sometimes wake up to an uncharged laptop. I attempted to contact Lenovo support online but could not easily navigate my way to the support chat. Instead, I was directed to a forum and discovered that many other users shared the same experience as I did. I am considering ordering a third-party charging cable as I do not have the confidence to pay for a replacement from Lenovo directly. TLDR: the laptop itself is fine but the charger is so unreliable that it interferes with the ability to actually use the laptop.

The Lenovo Yoga C930 is an ultrabook designed for both productivity and entertainment, and it succeeds at doing such with few compromises that most would be happy with. UNBOXING (5/5): The unboxing experience of the C930 is elegant & minimalistic while providing a premium materials throughout the unboxing experience. I could not help but notice the box was beautifully done, had the perfect weight, and provided easy access to the C930 and charging brick. Lenovo did a great job here, and it sets the stage for the rest of the product. BUILD / DESIGN (4/5): When you first inspect the C930, you realize how small and thin it is compared to what the pictures make it look like. I was pleasantly surprised to see a metal unibody design that not only feels premium, but feels durable while also being very light. The hinge mechanism feels sturdy, albeit there is a tiny bit of wobble when you’re using the touch screen. I tested the few inputs available and deemed them quite sturdy. That may seem like a silly test at first, but it’s especially important to be thorough, given the price you’re paying for such a product. The rubber feet on the bottom give the laptop a bit of lift and prevents slippage when placed on a desk, which is a much appreciated feature for a laptop that is otherwise slippery due to its sleek, twice-polished aluminum body. The pen is also housed in the hinge area, but I found it somewhat difficult to remove at times unless your fingers are pointy enough and you perhaps have a fingernail available to pull the pen out. DISPLAY (5/5): Okay, so perhaps you’re worried about 1080p in this age of high-resolution displays. But this is perhaps one of the best 1080p displays I’ve had in a laptop. With Dolby Vision technology, the display can get very bright, the colors are vibrant, and dynamic range is excellent–resulting in an image that is able to showcase bright colors while also maintaining deep contrast with darker blacks. Additionally, the fact that the bezels are thin on the C930 make for a more immersive experience that is both elegant and very portable. Disregarding the opinionated user experience of touch controls on Windows 10, I found that the touch controls were responsive, as to be expected. I didn’t experience any malfunction of touch controls. PEN INPUT (3/5): As for the pen input, I did find that sometimes the included pen wouldn’t register some strokes, as I’d be gripping the pen in a way that held the ‘erase’ button down. While I’m not personally a massive user of pen input on tablets, I understand their utility–especially for a student or professional. From my experience, this pen is not meant to be an integral part for someone who uses a pen frequently. The pen is quite small and would definitely give your hand cramps compared to solutions devised by competitors or even Lenovo’s own Pen accessories, which you can still purchase and use with the C930. But for a few notes to jot down or do some light creative work, I do think that Lenovo’s solution will get the job done. I just wasn’t a fan of the location of the buttons and how difficult they were to access at times. That being said, for an integrated, included pen, it’s impressive, and I understand compromises had to be made to get this pen integrated into the laptop. KEYBOARD (5/5): Wow. Honestly, it’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed typing on a laptop keyboard this much. I’ve had many other laptops from different brands, but among them, this keyboard is tactile, has excellent spacing, and leaves a satisfying sound, while also being quite enough to not completely annoy your neighbor with incessant ‘click-clack’ noises. For me, there was no adjustment period, and that’s coming from someone who has not owned a Lenovo laptop in years, but has occasionally typed on a friend’s or on a display model at Best Buy. As a software engineer, I could definitely see myself getting some work done on this laptop while traveling or while on a plane. I really appreciate the attention to detail that Lenovo has brought to the table with the C930, and I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open to future Lenovo products, as a result. Additionally, it should be mentioned that the keyboard has two levels of backlit brightness, in addition to turning off the backlight, entirely. I found it to be less bright than other keyboards, but was still ample brightness for any user. SOUND (5/5): Once again, I’m blown away. Lenovo worked closely with Dolby to integrate a sound bar into the C930, and it shows. This isn’t just Lenovo slapping a Dolby logo on their product–they really delivered on a product that has unparalleled sound. I have never heard a laptop with such detailed, immersive speakers, especially from a laptop so thin. The midrange and treble comes from the tweeters in the soundbar, while the bass frequencies are handled by the woofers integrated in the bottom of the laptop. This results in fantastic sound when you have the C930 sitting on a desk in the traditional sense. When put into tent mode for watching a video, it uses your table surface as a resonating chamber for the woofers–which is really ingenious. It lets the midrange and treble fire upwards, while letting the bass resonate down through the table surface. Bear in mind, however, that you’re subjecting it to the acoustic properties of the surface that you place it on, which can also result in an unpleasant tinny sound, depending on what surface you choose to place the C930 on. As someone educated in acoustics, music production and general physics, I understand this quite well, but you might want to do your own research on acoustic resonance, reflections and dampening if you’re any bit interested in learning how to get the most out of these wonderful speakers. At the very least, I do encourage you to try different types of surfaces (e.g. glass, wood, plastic, fabric) to get an idea of how the sound will change. PERFORMANCE (4/5): From my testing, performance has been excellent for a laptop of this caliber. It’s not going to knock your socks off if you normally demand tons of CPU power, but it packs a tremendous amount of power in comparison to the 7th-generation U-series Intel processors. So if you are coming from a 7th gen U-series Intel processor, the i7-8550U will knock your socks off. Additionally, the 12GB of DDR4 memory will enable you to handle productivity applications and entertainment with ease. If you want 16GB, you’ll have to spend more and purchase the 4K model, instead. Additionally, the PCIe NVMe SSD is a Samsung MZVLB256HAHQ-000L2 and has delivered a hiccup-free experience, as well. The true size of the drive is about 238GB. In terms of graphics performance, the Intel UHD 620 is enough to watch 4K video (albeit on a 1080p display) and do some very light gaming. I was able to play Unreal Tournament 3 and Warface with reasonable frame rates after turning down the resolution, textures shadows and other post processing down, but I wouldn’t bother trying to play modern AAA titles count on this machine. Ultimately, this machine wasn’t designed with gaming mind. Curb your expectations and expect to be able to play many 2D titles reasonably well, but 3D titles will struggle to play unless you make some serious compromises. I did notice thermal throttling on this machine, which is to be somewhat expected, given how slim the form factor is. This usually means the fans are really thin and can only push so much air to cool the CPU & GPU. In this case, because the CPU & GPU share the same die, thermal output of one affects the performance of the other. This isn’t a fault of Lenovo’s, but a high quality compound and an improved fan design could certainly help mitigate thermal throttling. That being said, they’ve made the C930 perform quite nicely while also remaining whisper quiet most of the time, and I’m happy with that. BIOMETRICS (3/5): The fingerprint sensor is generally responsive, but I have encountered issues where I’d resume from sleep and the fingerprint sensor did not register any attempts. It’s almost as though the fingerprint sensor did not wake from sleep. Your mileage may vary, but this is something I have experienced on occasion. BATTERY (9/10): I’ve personally found that the battery performance is exceptional. The C930 could last me an entire day of performing various tasks with a conservative display brightness and minimal processor usage. More aggressive tasking with more CPU/GPU intensive workloads will result in decreased battery life, but should still deliver quite impressive battery life for a laptop with this kind of power. CONCLUSION: There are usually good reasons to get a tablet with a detachable keyboard and pen, but Lenovo has proven with the Yoga C930 that it can make a very cohesive tablet/laptop experience in a convertible form-factor. And on top of that, it has tackled the typical compromises by having unparalleled sound built right into the hinge, a fantastic 1080p display, and delivering a wonderful keyboard. For a roughly equivalent premium hybrid tablet, you’ll likely pay a lot more and still get less than what Lenovo is offering. And what Lenovo is offering is not only unique, it’s absurdly good.

Wanted an upgrade to our older Yoga 3 Pro, “still a great machine” but saw the new model and couldn’t resist. This came in a nice presentation type box, inside the laptop was nicely padded and protected. The power supply “USB C type”, and paperwork. The first thing I noticed this Yoga is about the same weight as the Yoga 3 Pro we have, it’s 3.1lbs compared to 2.9lbs, just a little heavier but it feels much sturdier. The Yoga 3s screen has a lot of flex to it, this new model is very stiff in comparison. Same with the base of the unit, very solid and feels so much sturdier, it’s also just a little thicker than the 3 Pro, it looks to be machined out of a solid block of metal instead of the plastic frame of the 3. The keyboard on the C930 has been moved up a little creating a larger palm rest. This also left more room for a larger touchpad which is very accurate and easy to use. The palm rest area is also metal instead of the soft feel rubber covering of the 3 Pro. This makes it much easier to wipe off as that rubber coating, while comfortable, was really hard keeping the little perforation like dots cleaned out. You’ll also notice a small square on the right side of the palm rest close to the keyboard. That’s the built in fingerprint reader and it works with Windows Hello. A nice touch and very much welcomed. The facial recognition of the Pro 3 worked but I never felt it was that secure. Looking around the outside of the unit there are very few ports. In fact there are only 4 total. 1 full sized USB port, two USB C ports “use one for charging” that are also have Thunderbolt 3 support, and an audio jack, that it nothing else. No card reader slot, nothing. Sort of wish they would have added another USB port on the right side but the way it’s designed with the pen storage port on the back, the body of the pen would be right where any other port could go. I’d still rather have an extra port or two on that side. The front, and back side have nothing, and the right has the power button, that’s it. The screen this time is an IPS 1920x1080, it’s nice, bright and very clear, plus I can actually read it when I bring up a command prompt window. The PRO 3 has the 3200x1800 screen, while it looks great, and not really necessary on a 13.3” screen, “heck I use 1920x1080 on my 27” desktop monitor, when bringing up a command prompt the txt is so small it’s impossible to read, I’m very pleased that Lenovo decided to downgrade the resolution of the screen. The screen on the C930 like the 3 Pro is covered in high gloss glass, it’s a touch screen so it sort of needs that. But it’s a huge fingerprint magnet and shows smudges very easy. At the top of the screen there’s the usual webcam, but for once Lenovo added a sliding switch that covers the webcam for security reasons, and a bright red dot appears in the camera lens letting you know it’s covered. The C930 also comes with 12gb of memory and a 256gb SSD drive, a little small this day and age but at least you can swap it out for something larger if you wanted to. Now for actual use, this does come with Windows 10 installed, and you get the usual welcome screen when turning on and setting up. I was actually surprised by the voice guided setup though. The keyboard is very easy to type on, I can type well on just about any keyboard without much problem so I really have nothing to complain about here. There’s very little flex to the keyboard, even when sitting on an uneven surface, can feel the stiffer construction of the base. The keyboard is also backlit, and the light is adjustable by a couple levels, the 3 Pro only has on/off. The I7 processor is plenty powerful for this laptops use. It’s not really built for gaming and the graphics are built in on the I7 processor. Good for MS games and some older games that aren’t too graphic intensive. It works great for Netflix movies and I’ve watched a couple so far on it. This is also perfect for office work, I’ve been using Office 2013 on it without any problems. It’s plenty speedy working in Word, Excel and Power Point. The speakers “for me” are extremely good, can’t even compare them to the 3 Pro as they are much louder and clearer. The hinge for the screen is basically a mini sound bar and it’s much better than the built in speakers that are on the bottom of the Pro 3. There’s still a couple of speakers on the bottom front edge of the base but combining them with the speakers on the hinge there’s just a lot more sound coming out compared to the 3 Pro. The speakers also support Dolby Atmos, witch really helps out when watching movies or listening to music. Sound effects and speech on movies is outstanding, speech is very clear and easy to understand. Now on top of this all, this is still a convertible laptop just like the 3 Pro, you can easily use it with the keyboard flipped over as a big tablet. I’ll rarely ever use it this way, never really used it that way on the 3 pro either, just nice to know it’s there if I want to use it. And because of the design I can lay the screen completely back flat against the desk, “I’ve done that while giving a presentation with the 3 Pro and standing at a desk looking down at the laptop”. This also comes with a built in active pen. It resides in a port in the back edge “think Samsung Note style”. Pressing in on it and releasing it pops right out. Once you bring the pen to about an inch from the screen the pointer appears right where the pen tip would be. It’s very sensitive and very easy to use, I’ll use it for signing documents. I haven’t used it much as I never have much need to use a pen, nice that it’s there, but like I mentioned before I’d rather have an extra port or two on the right side of the machine. In all this is a really nice update to the Yoga line, it’s sturdier than the older 3 pro and plenty fast. The other thing I do miss is on the 3 Pro it had a hidden Ethernet port on the right side, which came in handy when traveling and I needed to use a cable to get an internet connection. I also used that for connecting directly to our routers for configuring them. I do have some USB C Ethernet and SD card readers that work, just finding ones that actually work without a problem is the hard part. As for heat, the C930 stays as cool as the less powerful 3 Pro. I had it sitting on my lap while doing some web browsing and watching videos on YouTube, it never got uncomfortably hot. As for battery life, I’ve used this for 3 hours at most, at a time, and had plenty battery left over. This wasn’t watching videos, just surfing the internet and using Office, so I’m not sure yet what the battery life will be like but it seem to be more than plenty for most people, I can’t complain. I did take the cover off the bottom, just 6 screws and the lid lifts right off, with everything being easily accessible “ssd drive, wifi card, battery, the usual components. It would be very easy to upgrade this if you wanted a larger drive or needed to replace anything. It also make is very easy to clean out as the dual fans will probably collect some dust over time. This isn’t an absolutely perfect laptop, none are, but for a student or business person that travels a lot this would be a great machine to take a look at and strongly consider.

PROS: Fast; Sleek Design; Lightweight; Beautiful Display; Superb Sound. CONS: Bulky tablet (mode) design; No SD Card Reader. Full Review: The Lenovo 2 Yoga C930 2-in-1 laptop is replacing an old laptop of mine. Like any Lenovo product, they kept a sleek, aluminum case design with the C930 and upgraded the performance in this very stylish and fast performing laptop. The laptop is lightweight, allowing you to carry it around without the burden of a normal laptop weighing you down. I used mine on the plane, airport and a local coffee shop. It has a 13.9" touch-screen display, which is just right in terms of size. Again, portability with the Yoga C930 is ideal for the person on-the-go who needs a lightweight and small enough laptop to get work done and to entertain themselves with, too. The touchscreen is very accurate and I did not have to calibrate or speed up the touch sensitivity. You can also fold the screen over and use it as a tablet design, which I did briefly. This this the only con I have with this device is that the 13.9" screen felt bulky to me in the form of a tablet, and the keyboard (folded behind the screen) got in the way slightly. However, while using the included pen to take some quick notes, I found the pen easy to use and the touch of it to the screen very accurate. The included button on the pen allows you to change the weight of the "pen" with ease. Lenovo took a note of the Samsung design allowing you to quickly press and release the pen when needed; the spring-loaded design allows you to easily grab the pen when you need it. The keyboard does not feel bulky, and the keys are easy to type on. One of the features that made Windows 10 sign on useful, was the use of a fingerprint scanner which the Yoga C930 includes. In addition to, the Yoga C930 includes an integrated webcam, which some same class 2-in-1 laptops fail to include. Speaking of the 13.9" touch-screen display, it includes Dolby vision (HDR) and 4K capability to view stunning videos in 4K with like-like colors. The Yoga C930 has a beautiful display; while testing out 4K content on YouTube, I found the colors true, accurate, and the black levels were deep and rich. I did not experience any judding in the fast-moving 4K videos I was watching. Other features, such as the 12GB of ram, I found ideal when I was switching back and forth from the internet and excel documents I was working on. The point here is, the 12GB of ram allows you to freely multi-task without experiencing any lock-up issues that other 2-in-1 laptops have in the class. This was a superb choice to have in terms of performance. Additionally, the included i7 processor is fast, and it should beat other 2-in-1 laptops in the same class. The 250GB of storage included is plenty of space needed for the Yoga C930. With cloud storage today, you do not need a lot of room to store files, music, and pictures; this is plenty of space. The last feature that the Yoga C930 includes is Dolby Atmos speakers. Think of this as a soundbar for a television; the Yoga C930 includes that same soundbar underneath the screen. A position that does not muffle the sound when in laptop mode. Though, when I moved into tablet mode, I did not think the sound was as clear as was when the 2-in-1 was positioned in laptop mode. However, the sound is still excellent with good bass levels and a solid punch for watching videos or listening to music. Though Yoga C930 does not include an SD card reader, it does have one USB 3.1 port for those times when you need to connect flash drives or other devices to quickly navigate, save and open documents. Battery life is stellar; on a full charge, I was able to get at least 8 hours on a bright display while on my flight and when I landed. If you dim the screen and cut down the performance of the laptop, you will get more than 9 hours of battery life. This is especially true if you are watching Netflix, or on the internet watching YouTube videos. Again, battery performance holds up which allows you to use the laptop for a longer period of time without a charge. Overall, the Yoga C930 offers a sleek, stellar design with powerful components that set itself apart from the competition. The fast i7 processor and 12GB of ram speak for itself. Honestly, you can put the Yoga C930 in its own class, personally. However, in a world of 2-in-1 laptops, the Yoga C930 stands tall.

First off, after opening the shipping box you are greeted by the eye catching packaging of the Lenovo Yoga C930. Kudos to the box designers for one of the best looking laptop packages I have ever seen. The laptop was well protected and arrived in perfect condition. Our household already has a Surface Book which we used for a good means of comparison to this Yoga. We placed the surface side by side with the Yoga C930 to compare sound. The Yoga comes with a rotating sound bar with Dolby Atmos speaker system for 3D audio in every mode. While the sound on the Surface Book is quite good, we felt the Yoga sound bar provided better bass in addition to Dolby Atmos given the use of content such as games or movies that feature Atmos. The rotating sound bar also seems to provide consistent quality sound whether in tablet or laptop mode. The Yoga also features internal storage of its stylus in a pen "garage" on the back side near the sound bar. There is a small learning curve to use proper finger placement when accessing the stylus since the power button is in close proximity to it. The stylus is responsive and accurate with two built in buttons to erase and right click. In terms of portability the Yoga is lightweight at 3lbs and .6" thin overall, but still has a very solid feel and quality build. The 13.9" full HD touch screen provides very sharp looking graphics which were more than adequate for our needs, but one can pay an additional amount for Yoga C930 models that feature a 4K Ultra HD touch screen. Standard is the Dolby Vision HDR which makes this laptop a great choice for media applications. Performance of the laptop was great with the I7-8550U processor, 256 GB SSD and 12gb RAM. Lenovo offers storage up to 2TB SSD for those with higher storage needs. In using the Yoga we found both the keyboard and trackpad to have a really nice, responsive feel; we were more than satisfied with both. The Yoga C930 includes two Thunderbolt 3 ports and one USB 3.0 type A port. There is no media card reader, but this is not a deal breaker to us since we already have USB card readers. It also features a built-in HD webcam (with privacy slider) and a stereo microphone. To summarize, we feel as though Lenovo has hit a home run with the sleek Yoga C930 due to awesome Dolby Vision HDR graphics, unique speaker design with rotating sound bar and Dolby Atmos speaker system, long lasting 14.5 hour battery life and stylus "garage". This 2-in-1 is stylish and feature packed at a reasonable value.

First off, the star rating should probably be 4.5 not 4 but I don't have that option. Like the title/summary says, there were a couple of issues right out of the box but Lenovo support was awesome and straightened things out faster than I've ever seen a tech support do pretty much anything! I'm really digging the new Yoga's style. Sharp, elegant, and solid. It is a nice looking piece of equipment. It isn't flashy but it isn't boring either. I've already gotten a few compliments at work on it, mostly just saying 'That's a NICE computer.' To be clear, the Yoga 930 IS a nice computer. Lenovo also does a great job setting the 'tone' right upon opening the box. I really wish I could post a video here, but I knew I was in for something special when, upon taking off the box lid, I saw two covering 'wings' that I then found were magnetically attached to the box and when opened, caused the computer to kind of rise up out of the box. I really feel that Lenovo missed the chance to do something like those birthday cards with sound and had something like the Indiana Jones theme playing because it felt like I was having some treasure being offered up to me. I'm just glad my face didn't melt off! If you don't get the reference, shame on you, and go watch Raiders of the Lost Ark you philistine! I tried to fire up this beauty and that is where I ran into my first problem, it wouldn't start. I've never had an electronic device delivered without any charge, especially upon launch, but I assumed that had to be the case. I plugged it in, (with the reasonably sized brick) but I will ask computer manufacturers again, to please emulate Apple or Dell and make better AC bricks, it can be done and should be! After being plugged in, the computer fired right up and I went through the start up process and it was a breeze (or at least as much of a breeze as Microsoft and Cortana will let it be). I kind of wish that Microsoft would give you an initial option of "I Know What I'm Doing" or "Please Help" on initial setup and tailor the process appropriately from there, but I know I'm dreaming. Anyway, after set-up was done, this is when I noticed my first issue, the battery was NOT dead (it was at about 80%). Now my initial impression was that perhaps this is a new thing manufacturers were doing to make sure the computer was on power during start up so that installation and updates could happen with no problems. If that was the intent, I agree that it is a good idea, but perhaps they should put a sticker on the lid to tell you to plug in first. I asked the support tech later if this was intended but they said no. So I continue to set up the computer and I'm doing so unplugged now because once I saw it was 80% I unplugged it so I could work untethered. I check the battery status and I'm at 75% but the 'timer' says that I only have about 30 minutes of operational time left! Thus begins a few hours of trying to figure out why a computer that isn't even 'breathing hard' at this point would blow through a 75% charge in 30 minutes. I ran diagnostics to see if the charge capacity of the battery was degraded (nope), and then I checked what exactly was running, and it was minimal. The fans had yet to come on so it wasn't under load but also didn't know if those were messed up and I was quietly taxing the system and slowly frying it! Got on the Lenovo website for some research but this model is so new there wasn't much on it and my questions weren't covered on the previous models (at least as far as I could find). So I chatted with tech support and we ran through some options and checks again, that I had already done, and then they recommended a BIOS update and reinstalling the battery system drivers. I decided to hold off a bit and continue to work, It is under warranty and if it is going to 'hard break' I want to find out now and get it replaced. After a couple of days of use and a full charging, it finally settled down and began to show more reasonable numbers, and now has finally resolved itself and seems to be running right. I've never had a laptop have such a weird battery/power issue before. Perhaps I've been insanely lucky since I have had a bunch of laptops over the years from many different manufacturers. I've had battery issues before but it was typically much later in the life of the computer and it was kind of expected (batteries degrade). All that being said, while I was initially concerned, those concerns are now gone and part of that is because of Lenovo tech support which kept in contact over the past week and made sure everything was running correctly. The fact that they did so without being obnoxious about it and spamming me with emails, is a further testament to their professionalism. Whew... sorry if I spent a bit too much time on that but I didn't want to give the wrong impression on the computer and also wanted to make sure if other users encountered the same problem they were forewarned and would know just to let it run its course. As to how the computer runs, it runs beautifully. It has all the power I need to run graphics heavy tasks such as the Adobe Creative Suite despite not having a discrete graphics card, and all my other work (mostly with MS Office) goes without a hitch. The pen is really nice though lacking a 'mouse click' button like my last laptop which I didn't use much, but I did use. I'm not often in tablet mode but that feature on a pen can save quite a few steps sometimes. Not a dealbreaker especially since the computer does everything else so well. Trackpad and the keyboard are both nice and responsive (my favorite laptop keyboard has always been the one on my old ThinkPad back in the IBM days). I appreciate that while the ports are limited to one USB A type and two USB C types, I at least get two types and not just C versions that I've seen on a few other manufacturers (*cough* APPLE *cough*). I don't have to replace all of my cables and accessories if I don't want to which is always nice. All of the ports are on the left (port! ha!) side which leaves just the power button on the right side and the pen 'garage' on the back behind the power button. If I had one request to make for this computer it would be to have at least a micro-SD card reader on the right side, or the left, I don't care. While 256GB is plenty of space for most day to day work, I like having the ability to reserve that for all the programs I have and will eventually put on this thing and to keep many if not most of my files off on a high speed card. I did get a new USB C external drive that is ridiculously small and wickedly fast so I don't feel so bad about it but if you couldn't tell from before, I like my laptops to be as cord and dongle free as possible. Bottom Line: This is an outstanding computer which gave me a few headaches and worries early on but blasted through those rather quickly and it has become a beautiful workhorse. I'm proud to whip out this computer at meetings and would put it toe-to-toe with any of the other types and manufacturers that my colleagues have (especially all the other Windows ones). Again, this is a great computer and does it all with style, do not hesitate to buy it if it is anywhere on your list of potential laptop choices. It will not disappoint!

Laptop ultrabooks, and 2 in 1 are plentiful on the market. This Lenovo is a welcome addition to the market. But does it do a good job of standing out from what is currently in the market? This review will be written for everyone to understand especially the laymen who are not tech gurus. :::Build quality::: Immediately upon purchase the box it comes in is exquisite and a colorful design which may sound odd to some but it is certainly eye catching and innovative which left me impressed and eager to see what the item inside looked like. Once the laptop is in your hands it has a nice sturdy weight to it and it feels wonderful in your hands. It is a nice small and sleek form factor. It screams minimalist design to me. :::Specifications::: This Yogabook by Lenovo has top notch internals. Inside in an eight generation Intel Core i7 Quad core that runs at 1.99GHZ. It is plenty fast to handle whatever you may throw at it. 12GB of ram is what you will find inside. As far as storage goes 256GB of SSD storage is offered on this specific model. The screen in a Full HD (1920x 1080) with a built in Wacom tech for more accurate stylus input. Speaking of a stylus Lenovo was kind enough to include one and it is has built in storage on the device. One of the few complaints I have is the placement of the stylus it is awkward and you can't remove it or place it back in the slot on the hinge when the hinge is open more than 90 degrees or so. This hybrid design really shines when you are using it to write notes or draw using your favorite application. The Dolby speaker included is built into the hinge of the device and fires in front & back depending upon how you wish to view your content. The hinge flexes completely allowing you to fold it completely backwards, or you could use it standing up in tent mode. The speaker bar is really impressive and as far as I know there is nothing else like it on the market. The sound is rich and clear and I like to leave it at 50% volume. The included software has different sound profiles to maximize your immersion in whatever media form or content you are into. Whether it be music, television shows or movies you will enjoy it on this device. Battery life is great with the appropriate setting. In battery saving mode you can squeeze about 8-9 hours easily. If you need to utilize the maximum performance of the built in i7 you can expect about 2-4 hours at most on battery. Charging this Yogabook is a breeze because it uses USB C a better, faster and efficient way to charge your device. How many laptops have Thunderbolt 3 ports? This one does and it has 2 of them. USB C is the best and is becoming the industry standard. Biometric offerings are great with the webcam it is good and clear with appropriate lighting. There is a built in Fingerprint sensor and it is accurate and always recognizes my fingerprint on the first try. This is becoming more common on the premium devices on the market. Windows hello is another way to log in using your webcam. Personally i prefer using my fingerprint. Who would have imagined having enterprise class security features being built into a portable device like a laptop. This is now common on cellular phones but it is nice to see it being implemented into devices such as this. :::Pros & Cons::: Starting first with the pros: - Solid backlit keyboard (spacious & nice tactile feel of the keys) - Trackpad is solid as well and accurate - Includes a stylus (but this is also a slight con which I will explain) - Dolby Soundbar (impressive sound & bass) - Small lightweight 2 in 1 form factor (2.86 lbs) - USB C charging (65W charger took almost 2hrs to charge) - 2 USB C Thunderbolt 3 ports & 1 Full size USB 3.1 port - Premium design & materials - Dual band wifi (2.4 & 5 GHZ) - Windows Ink support - Finger print sensor (accurate and fast) Now onto the cons - Placement of the stylus - No media card reader built in - Finger print magnet :::Overall impressions::: I am a tech guy and I am highly impressed with this Yogabook it is my favorite device and is my go to Windows device. This device is well designed and will have a broad appeal to many users. It really shows why Lenovo is the No. 1 PC manufacturer. This device is most useful for students and professionals but anyone can pick this up and use it because Windows is now more mainstream and Windows 10 is easy to use in comparison to previous versions. I recommend this device to anyone whom is shopping for a new laptop, ultrabook or 2 in 1. This device can go for hours doing whatever you require. :::TLDR::: Great premium device, portable, small lightweight form factor at less than 3lbs. High end specs , top notch battery life and has a built in stylus. Included sound bar offers unmatched sound quality in a portable device.

The overall build quality of this Lenovo Yoga C930 ultrabook is impressive. This Lenovo laptop has a thick walled aluminum unibody, which is only found on high end laptops. The aluminum unibody is made from a solid block of aluminum, and the middle is ground out and the electronics are fitted into the aluminum unibody. The packaging that this laptop came in is impressive also, it was packaged in a unique Lenovo box which was also inside a bigger cushioned box. This Lenovo laptop has the smooth functioning soundbar hinge, it is not as stiff as the hinge on some laptops, but the lid’s opening mechanism is secure enough, and the lid is not so stiff so as to be difficult to open. The Soundbar being located inside the hinge is definitely innovative, and the sound on this laptop is great for such a small computer. I set the main volume to 25% and it was sufficient for average listening, so if the audio was set closer to the max, the soundbar could really play impressively loud if desired. The lid has a really nice quality soft closing mechanism. The front area of the laptop does have a series of magnets which keeps the laptop lid firmly closed. The power button is quite optimal in my opinion, it is a plush type of power button which is better for laptops which are often placed inside backpacks where the button could end up being pressed by accident. The plush style of power button does however make it necessary to press it in with a fingernail in order to easily press it. The 1080 pixel display is plenty good for a 13.9 inch screen, and the full HD screen allows for maximum battery life, compared to the laptop version that has the 4k display. The 4K screen version of this laptop will use noticeably more battery power, and it is not much of a visual improvement on such a small screen. If long battery life is seen as a good thing, then the 1080p screen is the better option anyway. The max brightness of this Lenovo laptop is sufficient in my opinion, the screen is not as bright as some laptops, but I believe that Lenovo purposely chose to limit the screen’s brightness, so as to avoid a battery draining situation. A lot of people don’t know to what extent that a laptop’s screen is what often uses most of the battery power, so the fact that this Lenovo’s display is not too bright, this is mostly a good thing. The camera on this laptop has a privacy cover that slides to the right and covers the lens if ever feeling concerned about being spied upon through the camera. This privacy slider is easy to use and quicker than putting a piece of tape over the camera. The keyboard on this laptop is of great quality, and the keys have a satisfying feel when they are pressed. The Lenovo charging brick has a USB-C type of connector, and this laptop charges fairly quickly because the charger is 65 watts. Most laptop's only have a 45 watt power supply, which obviously takes a bit longer to charge. The digitizer pen that is included is a bit short, but it is sufficient, and it is neat that it charges when it is placed into the laptop. The digitizer pen has a really impressive clicking and locking mechanism, which holds it securely in the laptop. A digitizer pen is always nice to have for touch screen devices, as using a digitizer avoids getting fingerprints on the screen. The front left and right side of this Lenovo laptop has the newer type of antennae built into the aluminum frame, of which this adds to the premium feel of the laptop. The Intel i7 processor and 12 GB of RAM, combined with the 256 GB SSD, are specs that make for a very quick computing experience. I am rating this Lenovo Yoga C930 ultrabook at 4.2 out of 5 stars, and I would have rated it slightly higher, except I feel as if every laptop in the ultrabook category seems to be lacking a bit in value. Even though this Lenovo Yoga C930 laptop is a bit pricey, it is still considered a medium priced ultrabook, compared to some of the competition. There are ultrabooks on the market which are noticeably more expensive and are essentially not much better than this premium Lenovo Yoga C930. I would suggest this Lenovo Yoga C930 ultrabook/laptop if you are wanting a really well built premium computer.

Lenovo created in a very innovative way a multi-speaker system on this Yoga C930 that undoubtedly lets you "feel" the richer, clearer, and higher-volumes sound. It literally moves around you giving you the feel you're in the middle of the action in movies, shows, games, ..., you name it! I feel the sound is by far richer compared to ordinary laptops that are not equipped with Dolby Atmos. The sound has more volume and detail, and even more bass, which is amazing coming from these very small speakers. The various sound tests I did I simply went with the default Lenovo-tuned Dolby Atmos settings (I felt there was no need to personalize my settings as the ones that come with Lenovo were perfect for me, truly!): First, (lossy) 320 kbps bit rate/44.1 KHz/16-bit (stereo) MP3 Files: I was stunned and amazed when I listened to some of my lossy (stereo) MP3 music files. They sounded great. More details, nice sound (nice trebles and even bass!), definitely better than I expected. Second, lossless High Resolution 9,216 kbps bit rate/192 kHz/24-bit (stereo) Files: Then I tried Bob Marley's "Is This Love" in HiRes 192 kHz/24-bit FLAC file, which the Yoga plays back natively (meaning, without installing additional software or plug-ins), and it literally blew me away. What delight to my spoiled ears! What awesome clarity and details beautifully coming from the lossless HiRes FLAC file, triple-WOW truly! Distortion-free even at high volumes. Beautiful trebles and bass. There sure is an audible difference between a 320 kbps MP3 file and a 9,216 kbps HiRes FLAC file. About 30 times more details! (9216/320=28.8) Third, watching a Blu-ray Movie with my external Pioneer Blu-ray Player, connected to the Yoga C930 via USB-3 I tried to watch a Blu-ray movie from the Yoga C930, but it could not play back Blu-ray discs (or DVDs), and as such, I installed the free "Blu-ray Pro" app from the Microsoft Store. The app installed fine, but unfortunately so, I received an error message: "The file may not follow Windows standards ..." - It worked fine with DVDs, but then, the "free" version turned out not to be free after all. I was presented with a "Buy Subscription and Remove Watermark" overlay screen, in front of the video itself. But: I listened to the Dolby Digital audio stream of the "Eagles ... Freezes Over" DVD, and it sounded perfectly fine. Wished the Yoga C930 supported DVD/Blu-ray playback right out of the box, but it doesn't. And forth, watching YouTube videos There is a wealth of music videos out there on YouTube.com that you can navigate through using the Edge web browser. The sound you get via Dolby Atmos is similar to (1) playback of MP3 files. In short, the Yoga C930 lets you re-enjoy your existing and new MP3 and FLAC files in a way you never thought possible from such a small and light footprint laptop. You'll be presented with new details and clarity, and even Cortina (or any other voice material) sounds so much better than on ordinary laptops. The bass is pretty good, but mind you, it's not as good as coming from an external sub-woofer of course. I am giving this laptop a well-deserved 5-star rating, also because of its very easy setup. As with any pre-loaded Windows laptops, there are already new fixes and updates available for download from the Microsoft web site. Stunning sound, and also, definitely just as stunning: the 1080p display!

The Lenovo - Yoga C930 is remarkable. I will state that right away. It’s luxurious. I had my reservations about smaller 2 in 1 laptops due to owning a 10” a few years back. It wasn’t a positive experience. However, with the Yoga C930 my opinions of smaller 2 in 1 laptops have changed. The Yoga C930 possesses a sturdy thinness that typically comes with larger 15 inches 2 in 1 devices. The Yoga is elegant in design with its brushed metal, Iron Gray shell. When you open the Yoga, you are greeted with a backlit keyboard that looks equally sleek as the outside of the Yoga. The keyboard is responsive as my fingers danced across each letter each time I wrote emails and long essays/writing projects. What I REALLY enjoyed was that the mousepad didn’t accidentally read the edge of my thumbs because of lightly brushing against the pad. I think a lot of us can agree that accidentally moving the cursor while writing is the bane of writing. Another feature that was new to me was the stylus that comes with the Yoga! The stylus pen has its own docking garage built into the back of the Yoga which pretty much eliminates the threat of losing the electronic pen. The pen also charges when it is placed within the docking garage. No batteries required. When it comes to the usefulness of the stylus, I must admit that I am really impressed at how well it interacts with the touchscreen of the Yoga. Using the pen has already allowed me to design a fun banner that I used in a video. I can only imagine what a more capable artist could create with the stylus. The stylus also allows me to simply write my words in longhand which are then immediately converted to type font. This feature is fun and convenient when you might have the Yoga in tablet mode and want to pop out the pen to write down some notes without needing to unfold the computer into laptop mode. Now, allow me to praise the entertainment aspects when using the Yoga. There’s not any awkwardness when converting the Yoga from laptop to tablet mode. The Yoga is incredibly light which allows you to hold it with one hand with ease. Watching movies or shows on this device taught me that it is possible to have a smaller 2 in 1 that provides a movie theater experience. Yes, I used the term, movie theater experience. The sound that flows from the Yoga come from Dolby Atmos. They deliver a rich and clean sound that is true stereo. I watched a couple of high action movies on my Yoga and it was as if I had a miniature soundbar attached to it. The stereo sounds were discernable! If the action was coming from the left side of the screen, then the sound could be heard from the left side of the screen and then move accordingly to what was happening on the screen. I’ve only had this kind of listening experience with my television soundbar. It was impressive, to say the least. From the technical aspect, the Yoga C930 uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor which allows fast response time when opening programs and apps. I honestly cannot say that I noticed a difference compared to my previous 2 in 1 which used the same processor. The storage is adequate for me so far and I don’t see this being an issue in the future. The 13.9’ screen provides a beautiful HD picture. The Yoga uses a thunderbolt charging cord and has two ports for it. There is also one USB port for flash drives or additional devices that you might want to plug in. It would’ve been nice to have an additional USB port for those ‘unexpected’ moments that would push for the need of an additional port. There’s not an HDMI port or a micro memory card reader either. I mention this in case you might have utilized them on your previous device. The fingerprint security reader is spot on when reading your finger to unlock your Yoga (this is optional). I simply press my finger on the reader and the computer unlocks. Simple. With the Yoga C930, you’re taking home a beautifully designed device that will allow you to expand both your entertainment and work experiences.

Upgraded from an approximately 4 year old Sony VAIO. I originally ordered the C920, but once i arrived at the store to pick it up, the newer C930 was only a little more so I quickly switched. It's been a few weeks with my new Lenova YOGA C930 and have to say, I'm impressed. It's fast, although I wouldn't want to use it for gaming without adding an external GPU. Keyboard is perfect in my opinion and is back-lit, which was a must for me. Screen is excellent, although I don't use the touch capabilities too often or the included pen much. That said, it is nice to have that feature for those occasions when it comes in super handy. Boots in less the 5 seconds (to login screen). Light compared to my old VAIO and doesn't get overly hot and absolutely quiet. The speakers are impressive with two in the hinge and two on the bottom/front. Best speakers I've experienced in a laptop. I usually keep my system plugged in, so can't speak to how the battery is. Overall, my only problem was that the speaker would occasionally stop working. I updated the drivers and haven't had an issue since, so hopefully problem solved. For me, it is definitely money well spent and I would highly recommend!

I recently got this laptop. This is a short term review. We will see how everything does in the future. In case something changes I will update my review with an added comment to this original review. First of all, this laptop is beautiful. Its made out of aluminum, at least the body is. What was surprising to me is that when I picked it up, it was super light. I have another cheap plastic Lenovo laptop and its pretty heavy. Probably twice as much as this one. This laptop was packaged very nicely in a cool looking box. Charger cable is nice and long and power brick is smaller than usual. Its a USB type C which charges laptop pretty fast. Battery is great. You can adjust it in so many ways, that I wouldn't be surprised to get at least 8 hours doing normal work, internet stuff, and some videos here and there. Fans are not loud at all when they run. Pretty silent compared to most of the laptops out there. For HD screen, its very good. Not retina like on Macbooks but its not too bad. I believe Lenovo should use retina type screens on their laptops just like Apple, and keep it around 1300. If Apple can do it, Lenovo can do it too. Sound bar/hinge is very good and strong. Speakers sound great. I like the fingerprint scanner. It works very good. I don't think it ever missed registering my fingerprint. Keyboard is very nice to type on. Touchpad has a nice feel to it. I would say its comparable to Macbook touchpad. Nos as big, but when you touch it, it feels really good. Its very Macbook looking like, which is a good way to go with. At 13.9, screen is just right. Not too big and not too small. Laptop folds into tablet so its convenient if you are laying in bed or on the couch. Camera is decent. You don't want it too clear so everyone can see all your pores on your face when you chat anyway, haha. I'm an accountant and I will use this laptop for some office work. Microsoft office opens very fast. Speaking of fast, it boots very fast due to SSD and it also has 12gb of ram, along with i7. Great specs. SSD is a way to go. I don't even know why they even use hard drives anymore. I do use a 10 key, so I have an added 10 key that I plug in the USB port. It saves me on weigh and size when I don't need a 10 key. I think quality control is very good on this laptop, it looks well made. Before this laptop I got HP Envy 360, which had quality control issues all over the laptop (hinges misaligned, rubber feet coming off, and some other minor things). I returned that one and got this Lenovo. Pretty happy. One thing that I wish this laptop had was more ports. On the right side of laptop there is only a power button. On the left side of laptop there is 1 USB, 2 USB-C and headphone jack. I wish it had at least one more regular USB on the right side. Sometimes, you need to plug in couple things and for that you would need USB type C hub to expand ports. Also, it has a pen that you can use to draw and write with. Its pretty cool. I used it a little and its not bad at all. Pen integration into body of laptop is pretty genius. I got this laptop on sale for 1150, and at this price I think its a good deal for windows laptop. Especially for the premium product you are getting. Overall I am satisfied.

This laptop is worth it on speed alone. Utilizing a SSD allows this PC to run extremely fast. Boot up time compared to a regular HDD is amazing. Battery life is decent, not sure it gets close to the claims that Lenovo states, but for running graphics programs and switching between them, it has enough juice to get the tasks done. The highlight of this compact PC however would be the 360 degree soundbar. By far the best sound I've heard on a small device. If you enjoy movies and music this produces outstanding sound. The only downside and why I didn't give 5 stars would be the size of the SSD. Had Lenovo boosted this up to at least 500 GB that would push it to the last star. I found it fills up fast even when utilizing One Drive as my main source for file storage. Everything else about the product is top notch.

I've been using the Lenovo Yoga C930 in Iron Gray for the last two weeks. As a convert from Apple to Microsoft, Mac Pro to Windows 10 Pro, and as a graphic artist, motion graphics artist, and video editor, I must admit, the Lenovo Yoga C930 easily rivals the Mac Book Pro! At any given moment, I am running Adobe Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, a web browser (Chrome or Firefox, sometimes both), Dreamweaver, and all the stuff that runs in the background. This laptop keeps on running! I sometimes forget that I am not using my Dell or HP pro workstations and that I am on a laptop because it just keeps on working seamlessly - no slowdowns, no frozen screens, no memory errors, nothing of the sort. Aside from performance, it is very light, elegant looking (I love the Iron Gray) and the battery lasts a very long time. Before I bought, I asked the salespersons at the Best Buy in Clearwater, Florida, which three laptops are worth looking at. Three separate associates said HP, Lenovo and Asus. As a Dell user, I was surprised Dell wasn't on their lists. HP, well that goes without saying, same for ASUS (a gamers' delight). But Lenovo? When I learned that Lenovo is an IBM product, I was taken back, recalling the little red mouse button on the ThinkPad's - remember those? The first laptop I ever bought was an IBM ThinkPad, and it was a workhorse. This little Lenovo is, too, a workhorse. Great buy! I would highly recommend to anyone who thinks being creative or being an artist means you must have an Apple. Think again, better yet, "Think Different!"

Stop overthinking it and just get this laptop. It's been so great so far (had it for a few days though). -screen does not wobble when typing with the keyboard -the pen that comes with the laptop is pressure sensitive (so it's great for art students). -It stays securely in place when in tent mode and is great in tablet mode. -It looks great and it is great and is definitely worth your money. I'm not an expert about laptops what-so-ever but this laptop is extremely perfect for college students. -It gets the job done and then some. -It is fast and lasts for a long time and I go to school from 8:00am to 9:00pm everyday and it lasts. -I watch YouTube, write my lab-reports for class, shop online, check my email and this thing is a champ at keeping up with me. I'm a simple student with simple needs and this laptop exceeded those needs 10 fold. Just buy it you will not regret it.

Better than I expected - great battery life, very fast and lightweight, nice sound. I didn’t think the touch screen would be a big deal but it is wonderful! The display is more than adequate. The Home, End, Etc keys do require the Function key but I am getting used to this. Overall I am very happy with it.

I was hesitant because of the price. But I knew I wanted a solid high performing laptop. So I chose to invest in this laptop. I was concerned some of the features (touchscreen, stylus, 360 two in one design) would be gimmicky but they have all proved to be solid mechanically and in the software department. Everything runs smoothly and I’ve experienced no hang ups at all! It’s been a breeze to use. The keyboard is phenomenal, the screen really is bright and vivid. Some people complained it wasn’t bright enough. It absolutely is for me! The touchpad is smooth and responsive. I absolutely love the 13.9 inch screen it’s the PERFECT size. I love it.

Fast, decent memory (both RAM and HD), lightweight, nice screen resolution and touch screen. Hopefully, this will last through college (with Best Buy's extended warranty).
