Nice working laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for a laptop 2-in-1 to do easy share and white-boarding with my students during zoom. First of all checked at bestbuy live before buying. Checked that it feels comfortable for typing, drawing, image quality and camera. Was satisfied and loved the look and feel, color, finish, usability and performance. Then started hunting for deals to get the best price. Ordered with 12Gb. Took some time to arrived due to Christmas, packaged well, battery half charged. So tested once unpacked. Charged fully, tested what time it give me to do the regular job. Honestly you can get max working time in eco mode with simple several apps, browsers etc. If you actively screen sharing and using camera, it shows me max 10 hours. In reality lasts less. I'd say 8 hours of work he can do so should be able to cover a working day though. Login feature by finger-print works perfectly and fast. Initial setup/install of apps and configuration did not look hard and went pretty easy and smooth, just took time to upgrade, install and tune all apps from my previous laptop i need. Keyboard seems fine and intuitive. Layout slightly unusual, adopt after several hours of use with no issues. If you coming from Macs maybe you might feel something different. For me as Windows user no issues. Touchpad works nice and smooth. Pen comes with laptop, worth of it and do what it supposed to. Easy to use, very silent, not hot, love it.

Super Audio and Video Quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took six months for me to research and narrow down my choices to the HP envyx360, the Dell xps13 and the Lenovo c940. I needed excellent audio, above 300 nit display and a large enough deck to rest my palms. After almost a month of use, I am still super happy with my decision. Very light to tote around, very smart battery saving program and amazing Dolby atmos sound shaper. I waited for the Black Friday Sale AND bought open box "excellent" and saved a ton of money. Do not buy the 4k, you don't need it! The unit is fast, bright and works great in tent mode using the touch screen. I went from a 17 inch HP to this 14 inch and do not feel any loss. Buy it and be happy.

my first laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used a PC up till my daughter suggested that I needed to move into the 21st century and get a laptop. I'm struggling with it, too used to a PC, I guess. It's not as bad as I feared and the mouse is actually easier to use than I expected, but it took 3 weeks and the tape falling off for me to find the camera. I think I'll like it more as i adjust to it, but my cat sat on it the day after I got it, so I guess it's a seal of approval.

Wonderful 2-in-1 ultra-portable laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for my son as a gift and he loves it... The ultra-slim compact design and longer battery time give him all the speed and portability that he needs. The garaged active digital pen is a nice and unique feature to allow my college artist to draw whenever he feels like to. The NVMe SSD is definitely super fast, full-HD screen, despite not being 4K, still looks crisp, would highly recommend it.

Handles it all like a CHAMP!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this laptop for work and my business and it handles all the work I throw at it! The speed of the computer with the 12GB of RAM and the 512GB Solid State Drive makes the experience super smooth every single time I turn it on and use it. I also game on this computer from time from time to time and it handles Skyrim, The Witcher very well. Although it does not have a NVidia chip included, but it does the job with the Intel Iris Plus graphics that it comes with. The build of the laptop is amazing with the key board being very well built. I love this laptop and got it for a great price last year I recommend this beast of a laptop to anyone. Oh and it has a pen which is convenient for taking notes.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the initial setup of your Lenovo Yoga C940-14. It is possible that restoring the computer back to original factory settings may correct the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the back left side of the device, right near the cooling vent on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have restored the computer, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Value for money: 8 month review: Great Product!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is going to be a long-term use review since I purchased this laptop 11 months ago. Pros: 1. Performance: I am happy with the performance of the laptop. I use it as my primary device for school, work and leisure. I have used a couple of data / statistical softwares on this and the laptop handles data heavy operations well. 2. Size & Weight: The laptop is really light and easy to carry anywhere. It's small enough to easily fit anywhere. 3, Display: I love the touchscreen display. It is very functional. The colors look accurate and it is bright enough so don't worry too much about the it not being anti-glare. 4. Battery: Amazing battery. Will easily last a day with moderate use. 8 - 9 hours with full use. 5. Keyboard: Great keyboard as expected from lenovo. 6. Sound: Great soundbar. Really impressive. Cons: 1. Fan noise: Fan can get noisy sometimes when performing heavy operations. How noisy - you will notice it if you're sitting in a small, quiet room by yourself. You will probably not notice it otherwise or if there's other noise. 2. Webcam: Lenovo should have done better with the webcam. It is OK for general use and most office related meetings etc. But nothing impressive. 3. Weird quirk: If I am in a zoom meeting with my video on and looking at someone's presentation and have multiple browser windows open and some other heavy activities - i.e. if I really overload the laptop too much with my video on in a zoom meeting the display hangs. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. I have to basically close the display and open it again to get it back to normal. Doesn't happen 100% if the time.. Probably 5 - 10 out of 100 times.. So for important meetings I try to free-up some processing power. Recommendation: I would strongly recommend this laptop to anyone. for school and general use. Great for students. If you are a developer / designer / statistician who needs a lot of processing power, maybe this is not the optimal choice. However, if you're on a budget I don't think there's anything better in this range. (Got it for $1,100)

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga C940-14 model number 81Q9002GUS. The Yoga C940-14 ships with a 720p (HD) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter and Dual Array Microphones. If you are getting less than expected broadcast video performance, check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed.

Great overall package
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a long review. For the impatient, here’s the summary – I compared this laptop to the HP Spectre 360 13” as they are often cross shopped. Both are great laptops, but in the end, I chose to keep the Lenovo C940 for its combination of build quality, general performance, and audio quality. Like all “ultraportables” it’s a laptop with a few compromises, but overall it’s an excellent package. Now, the details… First, a word about how I use a laptop like this and what I’m looking for. I have a very powerful desktop setup for VR, triple-screen gaming, and getting real work done, and I also have a powerful gaming laptop for more portability in gaming around my house. For an ultraportable, I’m looking for a thin, light, highly portable travel computer that I can use when I’m away from home that can let me do some work, some light gaming, and lots of listening to music, with excellent battery life. Like many, I initially thought of the Lenovo C940 14”, the HP Spectre 360 13”, and the Dell XPS 2 in 1 13”. Since the Dell doesn’t have a USB-A port and the SSD is soldered down, it was immediately out of the running. I end up with Best Buy version of the Lenovo C940 on sale for $1099, and the HP Spectre 360 13” on sale for $1049. Both are the 1080p models. I won’t go into all the specs since they are easily found on Best Buy’s website. Each of the two had different strengths: Pros of Lenovo C940: • Better audio (4 speakers, louder, clearer, and with some tweaking, also has a wider soundstage) • Larger screen with better contrast, deeper blacks (but both screens seem similarly bright and I'd be happy with either) • Maybe slightly better build quality, (but both laptops have excellent build quality) • More RAM (12GB vs 8 on the HP) • The highest performance setting is allowed while on battery (this is not true of the HP) • Seemingly less throttling on battery vs HP • Can enable stereo mix, useful for recording streaming audio, among other things (this is not an available option with the HP) • USB A is normal port without hinge to open completely. (HP's port is partially closed by a hinge that must be pulled down to open the port fully. This makes it more difficult to insert with one hand, and the hinge, like all such hinges, seems fragile.) • Little to no difference in performance between being plugged in and on battery (I consider this particularly important in a so-called ultraportable, since I expect to be working, or even light gaming, on battery much of the time.) The HP takes a performance hit on battery, at least in graphics capability. Pros of HP Spectre: • Smaller footprint and overall size • MicroSD slot (a surprising omission on the Lenovo given its excellent audio capabilities. (Many people like to keep a loaded card in the slot filled with music and/or movies. I keep a 256GB card in there loaded with music to play locally via MediaMonkey.) Also, the MicroSD slot is spring loaded and an inserted card barely sticks out. • Charges with portable USB Type C chargers that won't work with the Lenovo (likely an amp requirement, as the Lenovo's charger *is* USB Type C. My Anker 60W portable charger charges the HP with no problem. It will not charge the Lenovo at all.) • Smaller included charger • Great keyboard (more travel than the Lenovo and the keycaps themselves have more depth. Keycaps are also slightly larger than on the Lenovo, which I prefer) • Multimedia keys, i.e., play/pause, forward and rewind (another surprising omission on the Lenovo given its excellent audio capabilities) • Windows Hello IR camera (not everyone cares about using facial recognition to log in, but if you do, the HP has it and the Lenovo does not. When it works, it's very fast. However, more than once, the camera refused to work properly, and I was instead prompted to log in with my PIN.) I also ran a few benchmarks that I had easily available on the two systems (see below). And in a couple cases, I compared to a Ryzen 5 2500U Vega 8 laptop I own to see how these 10th gen intel chips w/Iris Plus graphics compared to AMD Vega mobile graphics. The Lenovo and HP generally feel similar in everyday use, though the HP seems to have better graphics performance despite having 8GB RAM vs the Lenovo’s 12GB. Sometimes those extra frames were noticeable when actually gaming. But in the end, there are things to love about each of these machines, and I could happily live with either. Ultimately, I decided that for the extra $50, the overall package of the C940 won out for me. The build quality, larger and better display, extra RAM, audio quality (I love that the audio is good enough that I can leave a bluetoooth speak behind when I’m traveling now) and general performance make this is a nearly perfect ultrabook for me. But again, I think these are both great laptops, and depending on what you value/prioritize most, either could be the right choice. ||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a pretty fantastic laptop. I use a Macbook Pro for work, but really don't love macOS, or the complete lack of touch screen or basically any innovation in the mac lineup in a long time. My Chromebook was hardly able to handle video anymore, and overall ChromeOS just doesn't do what I need it to - particularly with photo editing while on vacations. In my search for a laptop, I knew I wanted a 2-in-1 to have the flexibility of a nice large tablet, as my Nexus 7 is well past the end of its life. I wanted touchscreen, and an active pen with a garage. Shockingly, the garage feature isn't available on most 2-in-1 laptops! I wanted at least 12GB of RAM because websites and modern browsers are hungry these days, and that will only get worse. I *really* wanted an AMD Ryzen 7 chip, but unfortunately that never seems to be paired with a bright screen, so I had to settle for Intel i7 & Iris+ graphics. My search landed me on the C940, as it has an acceptable amount of RAM and SSD storage, good processor, quality build, (barely) bright enough screen for outdoor use with a high color gamut for photo editing, and the garage pen functionality. The Good: * So far, I've been impressed with the build quality. It feels solid. * I like the keyboard feel quite a bit - much more than the shallow travel of the Macbook. * The touchpad is acceptable, though it took me a while to figure out why many clicks kept registering as a "right click" - turns out the lower right section of the trackpad was set to act as right click by default. Easy enough to disable that hidden "feature"! * Lenovo did a good job of NOT installing a bunch of spammy demo software! MS Office might be the worst offender - easy enough to uninstall. * I actually find their update and configuration utility useful. * Lenovo's extended warranty and accidental damage protection plans are reasonably priced. I'm impressed with the details they've put into their customer experience - much improved over my HP days of 10 years or so ago! * The laptop has been stable, runs relatively cool and quiet most of the time. Even when the fan is on full speed it isn't terrible. * Battery life has been impressive. * Fingerprint scanner has been quick and reliable - much better than my Samsung Galaxy S9, for instance * I never expect to use a laptop's speakers for music, but the speakers are shockingly good with mysteriously strong bass, if needed in a pinch. * Physical camera shade The bad: * I didn't realize until I started playing around in Corel Painter - the active pen does NOT have tilt functionality! I didn't realize this was a thing that I wanted until I started actually *using* the active pen. This is quite a disappointment - especially if you intend to use this for digital art creation! I can only hope that Lenovo offers a tilt pen upgrade that fits in the garage. * No USB-C charging ports on the right side of the laptop. I swear, every single place I sit in my house, the wall outlet is on the right side of the couch, chair, table. This means crossing the cable over my lap, or under me. One port on the right would have made all of the difference. * Doesn't charge with lower-powered USB-C PD chargers. This is something the Macbook will do - charge with a phone charger (slowly). Sometimes, that's all you got, and its better than nothing!

Switched from Apple to Windows
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best computer I've ever had. I have always used Apple products, all my schools had them so I just naturally thought they were the best (not my cup of tea). I switched to a Samsung phone last year and fell in love, I initially was looking at the Samsung Flex Book and in the process came across this computer. I was looking for a computer for college and Originally ordered the Yoga C940 4k display on sale $1,199 and thought it was such a steal with the original price being $1,599. It was on back order and I had to wait about a week or 2. While I waited I looked at more reviews and noticed they seem to have problems and poor battery life. I waited it out instead of exchanging it for this model. As soon as it was in store I picked it up and brought it home to set it up. It took FOREVER to load anything and right away I noticed my keyboard keys were flat and not clicky (they are supposed to be clicky), along with that some of my keys didn't work and my screen was not accurate when using it in tablet mode. The battery also got hot as it was taking over 20 minutes to lead anything. I knew when ordering it there are some bad apple but I had just opened the box! 3 hours after I got it I went back to BestBuy and exchanged it for this model (which is cheaper originally $1,200 I got it on sale for $999), the only differences were the color, specs and screen. The color is slate black, 12gb ram, 512 storage and a 1080p screen. The Mica color on the 4k model is very stunning but I was let down with the 4k screen as nothing seemed any different from the 1080p screen besides a little bit bolder red colors. I was really excited for the 4k screen but the 1080p is amazing and not dull like I thought I'd be. I've had this Yoga for about 2 weeks now and love it!! Mac book is more showy than it is performance in my opinion, and not as user friendly in anyway comparable to windows! My Yoga runs fast and doesn't heat up as much as my 4k model did. It has amazing features like the pen it comes with, I don't do any graphic design or drawing but for day to day use or drawing games its really fun. The 2 buttons on it can be changed in setting and its nice to use it for volume control. The only down side to the pen is its size, I have small hands and its not terrible but having a little more to hold onto would be most comfortable. The keyboard is clicking and perfect is you're someone like me who dislikes the shallow keys, its flowing and really enjoyable to type on. The battery life is very good for day to day use for purposes of school or online searching/buying. I never did think I'd switch to windows but I'm sticking with it forever. Overall I gave it 4 stars because I've only had my computer for 2 weeks. Very durable and functional!

Second time's a charm
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first ever review. I had the yoga 900 for about 3 years but it started to heat up and the fan would constantly run for no reason. I was skeptical to buy another laptop but needed one because I am a med student. I really liked the specs on the c940 and decided to give Lenovo one more chance. I purchased the C940 during the Black Friday deal and it arrived as expected, in two days. I have been using it for a little over 2 months now. I wanted to get some use in before writing my review. So far I am pretty happy with the purchase. The laptop is really well-built, way better than the previous model. Its sturdy and the included pen is amazing. It writes so smoothly with no glitches. I love the fact that there is a built-in space dedicated to the pen so you don't lose it. The fan was an issue the first couple weeks but I believe that was due to a specific app I was running for online classes. Once my class ended, I don't seem to have the issue anymore. Ever so often- maybe once a week or so I will notice the fan is running for a few mins but after a few mins it goes away. I have the Quiet/Intelligent Cooling mode on and that is a great addition to this model. The battery life is very good. I charge my laptop once a day at bedtime after using it all day with the battery saver on sometimes. Another perk with this model is it has Lenovo Vantage built in where you can go and set it to stop charging the laptop when it gets to say, 60% to preserve the life of the battery even when the charger is plugged in. The screen size is great it has edge to edge display which maximizes the screen size. The audio is far better than most previous laptops I have had. My Pros: Battery life, Display, Build, Included Pen, Lenovo Vantage, Intelligent cooling/Quiet mode, Bigger mouse pad My Cons: every once in a while fan starts running for a few mins for no reason and automatically shuts off
