I was looking for a modest soundbar to better the sound of a TV family members were buying fr a grieving father of four kids who recently lost his wife to cancer. Found this at Best Buy on sale I recall for $179.99. Bought it, tried it out at home and was delighted, as he now is in his ca. 18; x 18' master bedroom. The compact subwoofer is really a sort of "magic box" putting out a relatively prodigious, serious bass sound for its modest size. The sound of the overall unit is balanced and listenable. The Bluetooth function is a bonus and when my friend is not around himself his kids sure use that. The "cinema" mode is another bonus that on movies expands the sound image modestly and pleasantly beyond the soundbar itself. I liked this soundbar so much I purchased a second one on sale for my son!

This sound bars clarity is amazing for the price! The quality of the audio is so amazing it puts you right into the action. So good that I can't watch horror movies alone because it feels as if I'm the main character! A 1000 thumbs up for such a great product!!!! Goes great with my 70" 4K Ultra HD television!!!

Very adeqaute and with wireless subwoofer generates plenty of sound, i didnt need to spend more.

I bought this for my parents for their living room and so far they love it. It was very very easy to setup, my dad is not the best with technology at all, in fact he said he was confused and stressed why it wasn't working initially. Turns out he didn't plug in the power to the speaker bar itself, only the subwoofer. Once he got power to both the subwoofer and the speaker bar everything synced up, he was able to program his remote to control the volume and such, and everything was rocking and rolling. They seem to enjoy the clear sound and the bluetooth built in feature is spot on. I would recommend this product.

I bought this for my parents because they were complaining about their new TV and it's sound. I listened to all the sound bars hooked up at Best Buy and liked this one in the price range I was looking to be in. I got it on sale for 100$ off so it was a bonus. I think it sounds pretty good and my parents love it. It was very easy to set up also.

Just needed a sound bar to improve the sound coming from a bedroom TV that was bouncing sound erratically off the stone tile flooring....resulting in hard-to-decipher voices. Did not need audiophile quality, as we don't watch movies too often on this TV (watch movies on the Samsung 65" downstairs!). The unit was easy to set up, never had to undo anything or work backwards, lol. The subwoofer is recognized and starts up by itself....no issues. You can get a little sound variation with the different listening modes....we just leave it on Standard since we want to hear voices/speech. The only slight negative for us is it's not able to tune in precise volume levels...it can be too loud or too soft with one button push on the sound bar remote. We have to play with both the volume button on the TV remote and the volume button on the sound bar remote sometimes to get the right level. We researched A LOT of reviews....settled on this one due to reviews, price, and size. Not too expensive, not too cheap.

Sounds OK for the price when it's on sale. You don't discern left/right separation much. Wireless subwoofer very convenient. Entire system sets up easily using optical input from the TV. While not mentioned in any instructions, I was able to program it into my Fios remote (the optional one with four functions) by selecting an LG code for a receiver. One button turns everything on/off and the remote's volume control directly adjusts the sound bar.

I was probably in the store switching a lower, but still comparable model to a JBL soundbar and sub for an hour. The salesperson was naming different brands, but I was there to get what I wanted, not what was suggested. I was very very close to buying the JBL, but something kept making me compare the two even when I thought I had my mind set. I ended choosing the LG because it had a very clear sound to people's voices and having a sound bar in my bedroom was just a little upgrade. The set up was super easy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I would've like a little display, but nothing crazy. Otherwise, it's nice and stealth.

I put it with my LG TV I bought and they sound great together and I would recommend it ,it has some nice sound coming out of it the bass sounds Good and it wasn't that expensive

Got this on sale at $150, and at that price, this seems to be a good product. I wanted to improve the sound on my flat screen, because I have a hard time hearing dialogue on certain shows and on certain apps. This improved that somewhat, but not as well as a 3 channel system would have. This system really boosts the overall sound quality, not specifically dialogue volume. The subwoofer is awesome. Set up was very easy. I used the optical plug in, not the hdmi, and found that my tv controller automatically programmed to control the sound bar and woofer, which was a pleasant surprise. Good product, overall.

Got this soundbar to go with my LG 4k 65" television. I did not expect audiophile quality at this price and certainly there are much more expensive sound bars that can outperform it. Overall; however, it does an excellent job of filling my large family room with sound. Highs are clean and crisp and the woofer will deliver deep percussive bass. Remote control is included but largely unnecessary if you have an LG or compatible brand television. The only negative comment I would make about the system is that the volume is a little bit difficult to regulate at low levels, but this is a minor inconvenience. I believe I got a great buy at $149.00 on sale from a $279.00 retail price.

So far this has been a great purchase. Pairing it with an LG 4k smart tv and is working fine. The tv alone had poor sound, you could have it almost all the way up on some channels and still not hear it well. This sound bar definitely has eliminated that problem. It also easily pairs with our smart phones to stream music. We did have 2 instances where the main sound cut out leaving just the background, but that was early on and it hasn't happened since. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Initially, we were unsure how we would like the soundbar, but for the price, it is better than expected. When building our home, we had it wired for sound; however, we excluded the bedrooms, which we realized was a mistake. This soundbar works well and sounds fairly similarly to our wired system. No problems connecting it to the TV, setup took all of 5 minutes. The wall mounts have the bar sitting seamlessly under the TV and the subwoofer hides great behind the chairs. Overall, we are happy with the installation, the sound quality, and the Bluetooth aspects.

For the price this soundbar really gives you alot foe your money. Great bass and clear sound.

I have an LG tv along with a fantastic surround sound system, however, I live in an apartment! So I set out looking for a sound bar where I could get a little bit of stereo sound with a small punch of base to enjoy a movie. I come across this little jewel on sale and I'm blown away! Good sound and the wireless woofer works flawlessly. Not sure I'd buy it if it were not on sale but at the sale price... well worth the investment!

This LG soundbar and subwoofer do a great job for me. I probably could have spent another $100 or so and found something even more realistic sounding, but for the very small living room in which I live and watch television, this is working great. I love the Bluetooth feature as well, allows me to play other audio files from my phone through this system, which is a real bonus.

This is my second LG soundbar. They have great quality for the price. The setup is pretty easy and straightforward. You plug in the soundbar and the subwoofer (they have separate power supplies to each component), hook up the digital optical audio cable from the TV to the back of the soundbar, and soundbar and subwoofer wirelessly recognize each other. Once you have everything working together, you can then adjust the sound and enjoy it.

With the problem of poor sound quality from my flat panel tv, i was looking for a sound bar that would enhance the sound quality but not break the bank. The LG bar with subwoofer does just that. No fancy complicate interfaces just plug and play. Also being able to connect my cell via BT is a feature that just adds to the enjoyment of the LG product.

Needed a sound bar and was told to buy a brand that matched the brand of the TV. LG sold several. This one was not the lowest price, but had Bluetooth capability which made it my choice. Models with more capability took a steep jump in price, as in double the price of this model. Reviews did not justify the investment. I'm happy with the SH4.
