Customers are impressed with the 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Ultralarge-Capacity High-Efficiency Steam Front-Loading Washer's quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and large capacity. Many appreciate its ease of use and the numerous features it offers. However, some users note that cycle times can be lengthy, and a few have reported issues with the door and spin speed. While some minor concerns exist, the positive feedback on cleaning and quietness is prominent.

Great washer, but beware of a leak!

I have researched washers for a long time and was on the fence about this particular front loader vs a top loader. Until I saw this model in the store. This washer is absolutely amazing! Everything I was looking for in a clothes washer, and then some! The freedom to chose my own cycle, or tweak it to my liking is amazing. I have this washer for about a month now, and tried almost all the cycles. I am very satisfied with the way it operates. The noise is minimal. The shaking during the spin cycle is acceptable as well. The inside light makes the process of washing clothes similar to a mini show! Once in a while I can hear the water hammer, but I am not concerned. And I love that the clothes are minimally wet at the end of the cycle, which makes the drying process (outdoors or in the dryer) a lot quicker. The ONLY negative thing I should mention is that it leaks from the turbo wash piece for about 12 hrs after a cycle is done. Which is an absolute inconvenience for me because I have to keep the door open and a towel on the door opening to catch the drippings until the leak has resolved itself. This was a big bummer for me. Had I known this BEFORE I bought this washer, I would of gone with a top load style. I had called Best Buy about it, but the installation tech came, looked at it and told me that this kind of leak is very very common. And even though I had a choice of returning this washer because of the inconvenience of the constant drip after any cycle, I decided that I can live with it for the greater advantage of wonderful features this washer can offer to my family. Bottom line: it is a wonderful washer, but make sure you are prepared to deal with a leak after each cycle.

I just love this washer. It's quiet and it cleans well. I've had two LG washers before but this is the best by far. It's great at removing stains and odors. The turbo wash selection cuts the time by twenty minutes without sacrificing the cleaning. GREAT MACHINE!!!

LG Washer n drier set. Great buy

So far I've had my lg washer and drier for 2 weeks and I've used it often. The learning curve was small coming from a basic upright set. There is a bit of a rubbery smell from the washer seal but you just need to wipe it down to prevent mildew. The only down side is that the pedal stool drawers are not tall enough for a standard bottle of washing liquid and bleach bottle. Have to lay everything to the side which isn't the safest way to store them. So far no spills though.

It leaks a bit of water randomly while using it. This is a really annoying issue. I will never recommend LG. I called warranty within a year or so and they said everything was OK but it still does it. It is going to ruin my wall and base board

    Nice Washer

Very nice machine. The inside is huge! My only problem are the predetermined settings. They're dumb! Why would a bulky load only spin on a medium speed?? And, you can't change it. So, when the load is done, it's still pretty wet, so I have to run it thru another cycle- Rinse & spin. That I can control and put on high or extra high. Or, instead of doing the bulky load, I have to choose a different setting, which seems like that defeats the purpose. Otherwise, the machine looks great, washes well, and is pretty speedy. The price was very fair as well!

    Great Performance and Options

We are very pleased and happy with this product. Great washing options, very simple to use, and performs very well. It does get a little noisy due to the high spin, but leveling the machine will help it a little. The larger capacity suits our needs and great for larger items like blankets, comforters and lots of towels. The only complaint we have is that this product does not offer the door to open from left to right (only option opens right to left). Our washing machine unit hookup requires us to put it on the right side of the dryer and it is rather inconvenient to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer (on left) with the door blocking the way. We give this product 5 stars for performance, size and washing options. But ultimately have to give a 4 star due to the lack of versatility of having the door open based on location of machine. I would reccommend this product to those who have their washing machine hookups on the left side of the dryer.

We originally considered the larger capacity washers, but have found this plenty large for our family of five. It's quiet, easy to install (make sure its perfectly level), cleans well and has many useful cycles and features.

Love my 4.5 LG washer and matching dryer. These machines are workhorses and they are actually fun to use I don't dread doing my laundry anymore because these make it so much easier with all the Settings. Uses way less water but seems to clean them just fine. I managed to get a great deal for just $1600 for the Graphite set. Also I love having the lights on the inside as well . I recommend buying these I am very happy with them. I did a lot of research on Washers and dryer's before I decided buy and I decided to go with the LG brand as they have the best ratings and reviews and I can see why! I love Best Buy's free delivery and Haul away of old washer and dryer they also do free installation but just so you know you have to buy their hoses you cannot have the ones that come with these appliances.

    Good Washer; Moisture Maintenance Required

I replaced by 5 year old Maytag top loader with the LG, due to premature demise of the Maytag. I prefer a top loader, but newer designs are not durable. I bought the LG based on user reviews, recommendation from a disinterested appliance dealer (out of state), and the Best Buy feedback on maintenance records. I like the LG so far, although there are a few cycles I have not tried. It is easy to operate, fairly quiet, and handles flannel sheets well. The only negative is the need to remove and dump water from the soap dispenser, not to mention wiping down the rim to prevent mold. Fortunately, I live in a dry climate.

We replaced our older top-load high-efficiency washer that died on us mid-week. Being a family of 5, we needed to replace that on ASAP! This unit was on sale for the Black Friday items, the same price as the lower-model we were looking at. This washer if VERY quiet. If we close the door to the closet it resides in we don't hear it at all until it sings to us when it finishes. The only issue we have found with it so far is that we didn't upgrade our dryer since it was working. This is a very large washer and it will fill up the dryer twice! Other than that, we really like this washer! It is cheaper to run, quieter, and does more in one load than our older washer. Our clothes seem to be cleaner when they come out also.

Big gentle beast to wash your dirty laundry

Excellent product. Very content that I selected this product. the additional space and the base mounts gives it the right height for operating and loading/unloading. Exceptionally simple to operate, quiet when washing, feather touch control dials, myriad of washing, timing and multiple combination of laundry options, double lint collectors make this a highly recommended purchase. The cycle end is noted with a distinctly muted (but audible all throughout a spacious house) jingle tune. My kids actually mistake it for the ice-cream truck! We are enjoying this product and I firmly believe so will you!

We love our new washing machine. Its so very quiet and washes the clothes exceptionally well. We do not have the problem of drips or excess water discussed in some of the other reviews. The 4.5 capacity can handle large loads so blankets and comforters can be washed without worries.

    Old school problems

I am a young man with old school problems. This washer is FANTASTIC. I can't say enough good about it, really! But when it comes to washing clothes, I am of the belief that your clothes should be completely submerged in water. This washer DOES NOT do that on ANY cycle. The closest you'll come to that is on the "towel" cycle. Instead the washer sprays the clothes with a concentrated wash of soapy water over and over. When I put the first load in, I was mesmerized. It is pretty cool to watch with the LED light, but I was dismayed that my clothes were not totally covered in water like my old front loader. I refused to believe they were clean. Upon drying them, I found that they were, in fact, clean. I still doubted. So I found the dirtiest clothes I had--covered in stains from work and cat hair from home. I knew they would come out just as dirty. I did not pre-treat the items just because I was skeptical and wanted to really know what this washer was doing. To my surprise, I pulled the clothes from the dryer to find them CLEAN. No hair, no stains. My lack of trust in modern technology made me guffaw at that point. Anyway, the washer is great. I now LOVE it and wouldn't trade it for anything. The turbo wash and pre-wash functions are my favorite. I also love the space. One suggestion I might make to those purchasing this machine is to purchase some Fireworks (Gain) or something of the like. I personally find that HE detergent doesn't smell as good (same complaint as my last machine). These fragrance items really help.

I originally wanted to get the 5.2 cu ft washer because I have large blankets and comforters. I decided that I wanted to save $500 and opted for the 4.5 cu ft washer. Well, I was NOT disappointed. All my blankets fit with plenty of space. Glad I opted for the smaller tub. Machine washes very well. It is a very attractive machine and I am very happy I purchased it.

The washer is indeed quiet, as was the one that it replaced. Other than a few noises as valves open and close during the start up, when the machine is sensing the load, you would hardly know that it is on. Clothes are washed much quicker now. The machine senses the loads and adjusts the wash time accordingly. The controls are easy to understand and the washer plays a bit of music to let you know the washing is complete. It is distinctive from our dryer, which is helpful to know when both machines are working in tandem. We are vey pleased with the product. We wish that the industry would come up with a universal pedestal is compatible with all machines. We purchased a new pedestal with this one, when the one on our old machine was perfectly good. A lot of bucks spent on something pretty basic. The pedestal is a great addition to front loading machines and definitely makes your life easier. Still waiting for the energy rebate from Baltimore Gas and Electric, as they are still working on it. The experience with Best Buy was terrific. Personable and knowledgeable salesman and prompt, courteous and professional delivery and set up.

Over the years, staying apprised of washing machine technology has not been high on my 'things I want to know' list. So I had to do a lot of research when it came time to buy a new washing machine. It wasn't quite unanimous (but close) that LG was the brand to buy. More than any other brand, LG was the number one brand in the reviews I read. We selected this particular model because it had all the primary features that my wife wanted plus Best Buy had a killer sale on this model and blew away everyone else's price. My wife couldn't be more pleased. The features are plentiful, the technology is amazing, and the results are clean clothes and a very happy wife. So far it's been a great machine and frankly, I don't see why that would change.

This washer has been a great upgrade from our 18 year old top loader to front loader. Overall, it has multiple settings, it is quiet and visually provides the time for completing the wash. It can accommodate washing larger bedding; however we have learned that you need to balance large bedding loads to ensure proper washing and spin drying.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this model. Great at getting clothes clean. Lots of extra features (steam option, pre-wash, quick wash, delicates) that are not standard in other front-loaders. Easy to use. Loading can be difficult without the purchase of the pedestal as the unit sits very low to the ground. We found that all front-loaders are in this camp. Also, normal wash cycle is longer than our old top-loader. No biggie just takes some getting used to. Overall, great features and works great for price!
