Terrible remote, great picture and sound
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I suffer from tremors so using this remote is near impossible. The pointer seems to be motion activated so it is constantly switching to that. Seems they would have thought of people with this issue when designing the remote. I can only use the it when it is sitting on a hard surface. The webOS system is cluttered and doesn't seem user friendly especially when trying to navigate with the remote issues. The picture and sound are great which is the only redeeming things about this TV which I suppose is the main purpose of a TV. I ended up installing my 4K FireStick to make things easier for me. As long as the remote stays the same, I don't see myself purchasing another LG TV.

Posted .Hi, Mike. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with the LG TV (OLED48B4PUA) model. We’re glad you’re enjoying the exceptional picture and sound quality, but we understand how the Magic Remote and webOS system might be challenging to navigate, especially with tremors. We strive to provide a seamless and user-friendly experience with our products and ensure a smooth experience.
For an easier experience, you can disable the motion-activated pointer feature by navigating to Settings > All Settings > General > Accessibility > Pointer Options and adjusting or turning off the pointer speed or motion settings. Additionally, LG offers an optional Universal Remote or recommends pairing compatible third-party remotes that may better meet your needs.
We’re always looking to improve our designs, and your feedback is valuable to us. Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport if you’d like further assistance with settings or exploring alternate remote options. ^Juvy

Horrible Software
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is solid, but L.G. software is horrible. It makes the tv unusable at times, laggy, unresponsive, apps will just open to black screen or not open at all. I have 10 year old cheap TCLs that work more consistently than this.

Not good quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv seem to only support 4k UHD videos, streaming, and/or made exclusive for playing videogames. If you are watching a video on youtube thats only 1080p the video wouls look blurry doesn’t even look HD. If you search for a video of 4k UHD it would then look a good picture. The good thing about this is that the black screen its really black. I regret buying this tv. And no, it has nothing to do with the vivid, standar, videogame mode to make the 1080p look good because i tried them all. If you want this for gaming this could be your tv. If not, avoid. I own a 43 in LG TV 4K UHD LED from 2017 and it looks way better than this OLED. I wanted to upgrade but this is a downgrade

Posted .Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG TV (OLED48B4PUA) model. We understand your concern, especially when you were expecting an upgrade but feel like the experience hasn't lived up to your expectations. We strive to provide high-quality products that exceed our customers' needs and expectations.
OLED technology excels at delivering deep, true blacks, a standout feature for movies and gaming. However, as you’ve noticed, 1080p content might not look as sharp when viewed on this model because it's designed for 4K UHD or high-quality streaming.
It sounds like you’ve already tried adjusting the picture settings, but I would suggest double-checking that your TV is using the latest firmware, as updates can sometimes improve the upscaling of lower-res content. For guidance, you may visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-tv-how-to-update-an-lg-smart-tv--1430510575535. You might also want to experiment with some of the advanced settings under the "Picture" menu to see if there's a custom configuration that better suits 1080p content.
That said, if you feel like this TV isn't right for you, we’re happy to help you explore other options that may better suit your viewing preferences. Please feel free to send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to assist you further. ^Juvy

A Budget TV
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have both this TV and another from another manufacturer. The other one is the better TV. This TV displays a black screen from time to time and nothing you do with the remote can change it, you have unplug it. Also it has an issue with the sound. It will get very quiet, and you can up the volume to 100, still doesn't make it audible. Also have to unplug to get it working great. The picture is an upgrade over the 5 year old LED I had, but its also a step down from the picture on my other TV.

Posted .Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand the concern regarding the dead pixels. If you're noticing stuck or dead pixels, it can sometimes be addressed by performing a Pixel Cleaning through the settings:
Select [All Settings] in the [Settings] menu.
Choose [General] and then select [OLED Care].
Select [OLED Panel Care].
Choose [Pixel Cleaning].
This process may take up to an hour, but it could help with minor pixel issues. If you continue to see problems, please consider reaching out for service assistance via our Request a Repair page.

Not worth the hype
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the OLED option for superior picture quality as was displayed in the store. Once i set the TV up at home, its definitely not nearly as vibrant or vivid as the in store display. I spent the extra money on the OLED because the other options seemed not to compare...in the store. The picture quality does not seem any better than a regular 4k or Led TV. I played around with the settings and unless you set it to in store display mode as we are watching a newer film that is 4k compatible, there isn't much difference. I was not impressed with the sound quality either. I did not purchase a sound bar, so I'm only using the built in TV speakers. I'm thinking t this set needs a sound bar in order to sound good.

Posted .Hi there, Cherise. Thank you for your feedback on the LG OLED48B4PUA. We understand that your experience didn't meet expectations.
OLED TVs are renowned for their deep blacks and vibrant colors due to each pixel being individually lit. However, picture settings can significantly impact your viewing experience. We recommend exploring different modes like Cinema or ISF Expert for more accurate and vivid colors, even outside of the store display mode.
Regarding sound, OLED TVs are often paired with soundbars for enhanced audio performance, but the built-in speakers support Dolby Atmos for a more immersive sound experience. Adjusting sound settings might also help improve your experience.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had about 2 weeks and i must say it’s not that great, the picture is ok but not as good as I expected for oled, but the biggest complaint is when your watching Netflix, Prime, ect… and want to go back to satellite /cable it wont switch back automatically, and its not my 1st smart tv I have 3 already, and all are LG that’s why I bought this one I really like LG but they missed the mark with this one. For the issue you're experiencing with switching back to satellite/cable, we recommend checking your HDMI-CEC settings (also known as Simplink on LG TVs). Ensure it's enabled and try adjusting the settings to see if it improves the switching behavior.

Good while it works
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great television while it lasted. The board inside randomly fried itself 60 days into ownership and now I have to coordinate a repair. LG is paying for the repair, but I’d rather just exchange for a new one. Pretty bummed to not have TV for a week while it gets repaired, especially during football season.

Black screen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The top of the screen is black when it first comes on or when you change channels. They are replacing the TV.
I would recommend this to a friendBrand response from LG Digital Customer Care
Posted .Hi there! We understand your inquiry about the OLED48B4PUA displaying a black screen at startup or when changing channels. Even though your TV is being replaced, here’s a troubleshooting step—based on LG’s guidance—to help identify if the issue could be due to a loose connection or internal component:
Check for On-Screen Menu Visibility:
Power on the TV and press the Volume +/– button or the Home button on the remote. If the on-screen volume indicator or home menu does appeared, that suggests the main panel is still functioning but the incoming video signal (HDMI or tuner) might not be reaching the panel correctly. If you see the menus but notice the top portion remains black only when watching normal TV, try disconnecting any external device (cable box or streaming device) and switching the TV’s input back to “TV.” If the menus still show but the picture is black, the issue may lie in the T-Con board or panel circuitry only when rendering live TV channels.
If no on-screen menus appear when pressing Volume +/– or Home, that indicates a panel or backlight failure, requiring replacement or service.
Since you already have a replacement in process, confirming menu visibility helps determine if the problem was an easy loose-cable situation (for example, mis-seated LVDS cable) versus a deeper internal failure. For now, please keep all original cables and packaging and follow the replacement instructions provided by the service team.

Boxless, screwless, Open "box" excellent :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far no complaints about the TV itself, but I feel best buy customer service leaves much to be desired with my purchase. I purchased an Open box-excellent unit. Funnily enough, open box-excellent doesn't necessarily mean it even comes with a box. Or all the hardware. I picked up a TV that was completely wrapped and taped up in bubble wrap, and as I would find out later, did not have the screws to mount the legs. I called the store that I purchased it from later (which is incredibly out of my way, I only went there because they were the closest store to me with a single unit in stock that was in used condition) and was told that if I wanted the screws, I would need to come back to the store for them, I wouldn't be able to pick them up from a store closer to me. We are committed to ensuring that our products are delivered with all necessary components to provide a seamless experience.
To help you with the missing screws for the TV stand, the model requires M4 screws, 8mm-12mm in length for mounting.
