Got this tv because everyone was talking about this tv for the PS5 or series X if you were in a budget. I missed the 499 price back in black Friday, but it got it for 599 this time around. But LG is running a promotion to give you 100 dollars in streaming or gaming services (like Xbox, Netflix, etc.)…so I guess that’s good, as I just got my series x. Now about the TV, I have to say colors are great and etc…etc…Not a CX Oled (trust me NOT AT ALL) but still a great looking TV. Here Is where my issues started…Xbox Series X games in HDR dark rooms are impossible to see anything, just too dark. In SDR, great but HDR impossible. I tried everything possible to get this tv to help with the darkness in dark rooms. I got this TV just for gaming, but HDR for me is unplayable. I have been using SDR for now, tv looks great anyway, but I feel like I am missing something. I wish LG would let you change the gamma settings when in game mode hdr, but unfortunately they are greyed out. After paying at my friend’s house in his LG CX Oled…I am rethinking my purchase. Overall for 499 (after promotion) is an ok TV.

The 49” LG Nano85UNA looks great on my wall, has nice bright colors and looks great from any angle. I love how easy it is to setup and to access the apps on this tv. It comes with a “magic remote” which is extremely user friendly and fun to use. It even has a button on it for Netflix and Amazon on the remote. I have mostly used the TV for streaming shows, but recently used it for gaming and am very impressed. Recently, I watched a movie with my kids and my oldest daughter kept telling me how bright and colorful this TV made her movies look in comparison to our old TV. Everyone in the household agrees that it’s a huge upgrade from the previous TV we had. I am extremely pleased with my tv and will always recommend LG based on my positive experience with this tv.

Tis TV is amazing, nice quality...almost perfect picture with great HDR and fast instant game response. Also yes it runs at 4k 120hz for the gamers, that's the whole reason I bought it. Only bad thing I could say ab this TV is that the black colors aren't very black...kinda dark grayish but all in all....it's a great TV for gamers and TV watchers.

I have tried several 2020 TVs so far and ended up returning a 2021 Vizio P series for this. The Vizio as I was afraid has QC issues and mind ended up flickering and going nuts with certain scenes while the local dimming was set to High. I had one blip playing on a PC, then several on PS4. At this point I’m tired of spending $1k for a tv and getting questionable results. Samsung’s Q90ts have a lighting defect that causes the edges of the TV to have a blue/purple hue, LGs OLED carry a burn in risk depending on what your “normal” use is, TCLs seem to be lottery item while coming up short on 4k 120hz, and the Hisense doesn’t even have much for gaming features. I’ve already tried out the Nano90 and it is a bit over priced and you need local dimming on in order to achieve the contrast this TV has natively. If you don’t mind a smaller TV this gives you the best IPS panel contrast and matches most Qleds color gamut’s. Contrast does fall short to a Samsung or Sony or almost every other TV as most have VA panels. It also doesn’t get very bright, it’s about on the level as your standard computer monitor. So what makes this Tv worth 5 stars? For $599 you get a fully functioning TV with every main streaming app including Apple TV. I happen to be a fan of LGs remote and prefer it over everything else. It supports 2 HDMI 4k120 ports and has the same picture processing that the Nano90 and BX have. So you’re at least ready for next gen gaming for pretty cheap. I’ve had good luck with LGs, I rarely have problems with their monitors and have the same LG tv from early 2000s with one of the first full array local dimming panels. I trust their Nano models and up as a brand, I can’t speak for their low end TVs. From a gaming standpoint, you are getting a lot for your money. LG is putting out some of the leading 1440p and 4k gaming monitors, newly released a 4k 144hz 27” Nano cell monitor. It costs $799! This TV has a better contrast ratio that just about all of LGs IPS panels as I mentioned. So it has better picture quality off the bat and it has a very good Color Gamut. Better than most monitors including their own. You also get 4k with the 120hz refresh rate. So as long as you have the desk or wall space, I think this is a no brainer. I also have to say the picture quality and contrast isn’t too bad. Be sure you turn local dimming OFF as well. The contrast I think is good enough to still enjoy dark scenes. My TV has IPS glow in two corners that’s noticeable and the screen uniformity is ok. Playing games, colors are great as is the response time. At the price point, for better than Premium monitor picture quality, contrast, inputs, and a recent update that does have freesync present, I can easily forgive the shortcomings. If you have the money to spend then by all means go bigger and even to other brands like a Sony 900h for instance. But, if you were going to consider playing the lottery on a lower end brand, I would consider the LG since it’s reliability should be much better. So remember, local dimming off. Much better value than LGs high end gaming monitors as good as they are, all things considered. Update it it so you have Freesync premium. And, two ports for 4k120hz next gen gaming.

This is a great TV if you turn off local dimming. Vibrant colors, perfect control on connected devices and great xbox experience. Dolby vision is great and sound is better than Samsung and Sony, motion handling is awesome for this price, but upscaling is not that great while still better than similarly priced Samsung. I never had any issue in changing channels with voice assistant or controlling my spectrum tv box with magic remote. I just decided to pay more and buy a product with full array panel and better upscaling quality.

TV is great for gaming. Supports the new Xbox series X at 120 hertz/frames per second. My son loves the refresh rate that this tv supports for gaming on games like Fortnite and Call of Duty. The picture quality is good, but the blacks and whites could be better. However, I would definitely recommend this TV set.

I have been using this for about a week now. Bought alongside my PlayStation 5 and will hope to provide some further insight. Review sites like RTINGS have simply provided the wrong information. I will provide some pros and cons. Pros: - Picture is beyond solid, especially for a television that is an IPS panel and not VA, and that is only $500. The HDR provides good brightness, but will not blow you away. I sit directly in front of the television in my setup, so the side viewing angles I cannot judge. Colors do pop and further adjustment can be made. -The gaming portion. This television has two HDMI 2.1 ports with one being eARC. This allows your console and computer to achieve 4K 120hz. The PS5 switches this instantaneously when set in a game. There is a low input lag option in the picture settings plus AMD Freesync, but I am unsure if this ties into consoles at all. I believe the input source needs to support it, which kind of renders this mostly useless as I'll get to in a second. There is a high and wide option for it, and I cannot get clarification if it works. This may mean the Xbox supports it. - For PC, Windows (NVIDIA Control Panel) will see this as both a television and a PC monitor. The tv portion only tops out at 60hz, so the PC monitor portion is where you can alter to 120hz. The tv does support both 1080p and 1440p at 120hz, and that is a wonderful option as most 4k tv's, especially at this price, will just down sample to 1080p and normally works like garbage. With 120hz enabled, screen tearing was minimal if any, and gameplay is extremely smooth and satisfying. - For smart tv and UI, it offers everything that any tv does now. LG also has it's own channel lineup that is chock full of free television, which is a plus. It has the webOS interface. Cons - For Consoles, it is really hard to find any. You get what you pay for. Playing NBA 2K, if lighting changes, it can remain dark and look weird. Also, the color options on PS5 at 120hz only tops out at YUV422, which is 4:2:2 Chroma. It does not provide RGB full color at that setting. The tv also has the option to automatically switch inputs when something turns on. I'm really impressed with the features that are implemented and if you are using this as a pure gaming monitor, you won't be disappointed. - For PC, a few more issues crept up. According to RTINGS, this is capable of 4K 4:4:4 Chroma, but I simply cannot do it. I cannot confirm if this LG is held back by the same issue as the CX/BX with not a true HDMI 2.1. My card is a GTX 1080ti and Freesync will not work over HDMI on that device. There is no displayport, so my hope is to upgrade to a new AMD RX 6800XT in the near future. I'm not sure if NVIDIA will support freesync/g-sync over hdmi on newer cards, so i'd rather not take the chance. If freesync doesn't work at all over HDMI including with new AMD cards, then the freesync option is a complete waste of space on this television. The picture still looks good at 4:2:2 Chroma, but there's more potential there. RTINGS claimed if you renamed the input as PC, that it'll unlock the 4:4:4 Chroma. I can confirm it does not. You can change the input type to PC and rename it PC, and it does not change. Even with HDMI Deep Color enabled/re-enabled. I wish these reviewers would do more due dilligence. - TV UI is slow as molasses. Bringing up the menu and using the pointer is slow and rather annoying. You get what you pay for.

Amazing tv! Great for gaming from a PC , nice 4k and 120hz With HDMI 2.1 I love this Tv and I think it’s worth any penny. Big bummer compare to my Asus ROG pg27uq Is the HDR, the LG nano85 not even close to the monitor of Asus especially in movies and sark scenes.

I planned to buy the new LG OLED to use as a PC monitor but I decided with my use case I didn't want to be worried about burn in. The LG Nano works great as a PC monitor, or as well as a TV can and it has the gaming features I need. To me the big down side of using a TV as a PC monitor is it doesn't sleep like a true computer monitor will. Not a big deal but it does mean you need to keep the remote nearby. The LG Nano does support for 4K at 120 hertz so it is ready for the new PC graphic cards and consoles expected to be released in the coming months. In my use case I have desktop windows open all day and that was the main reason I didn't go with the OLED. Also, the Nano is quite a bit less expensive and there is going to be a lot of new TV technology coming out over the next two years. I will revisit my need then but for now this is working just fine. I am fine with the image quality except for HDR. It doesn't have the pop of the more expensive TVs but HDR on the PC still needs a bit of work so I am fine with waiting. If you want a 4K monitor and don't mind using a TV this is a good option. If you must have the very best image available then get the OLED

Great TV for the money! HDMI 2.1 to future proof 8K @ 60hz, 4K @ 120hz. This is Dolby Atmos/Vision compatible. The Instant game mode is great for playing games on. I love the presets Expert dark room and HDR Enhance modes. I ended up returning it and getting the 65" 85 Series because I loved it so much. There is some backlight bleed in the corners that are noticable in dark rooms, but the color is amazing, contrast is pretty good, and the picture quality is top notch. Not on OLED levels, but still a great cheaper alternative!

Best gaming tv you can buy without over spending and getting premium features like 120hz and 4k and freesync/Gsync on the cheap. It's constantly updated. A few quirks to setting it up to work well with PC. With console it works great right away. Just wish it was brighter. HDR mode is terrible. There should be a way to enable fast gaming response and freesync at 120hz without automatically enabling HDR. The brightness is very low once properly set up. It's sad. Sound is great for a skinny TV. Picture quality is just ok...I've seen some stunning 4k TV and I'm talking LED not Oled. This one does not come close. But overall you get tons of features for cheap. And it does a decent job.

Let me start with, I was a diehard Samsung TV customer for years. I decided to go outside the box after a friend purchased the Nano 9, 55 inch, and I was really impressed. After shopping and researching the brands, I bought the Nano 9, and was so impressed, we finally upgraded our old bedroom TV with this 49 inch Nano 85. It's just as impressive!!! LG has stepped up its game with the NanoCell technology. I think the picture quality is as good, and even better than some OLED, and Samsung QLED units that cost substantially more. If you're looking for a great, user friendly, and all around awesome smart TV without breaking the bank, the LG NanoCell is definitely the best bang for your buck!!!

VERY excellent in rooms that take in sunlight....as in basically any room with windows, which is an environment where OLEDs don't do well. For not having the "true blacks" OLED provides, the colors are still very deep and pop beautifully. It is also a true 120hz panel @ 4K and can be utilized by gaming on a beefy GPU with no issues. Only downside is the lack of "true" blacks that can only be obtained by OLED, but you will need to pay twice the price and have the right environment for that anyway, so I'd say this is a strong alternative. I love my OLED, but I feel like NanoCell is the better bargain, as well as the more versatile option.

I have always been an LG fan, This TV compared to the equivalent of its competitors at price point makes sense. My only complaint would be the blacks and the local dimming on an edge lit display. you can see the zones and it can be a little annoying at first but can be turned off entirely. regardless, if you are within a 600$ budget and game, This tv will work perfectly on the new consoles and honestly PC as well. 120hertz 4k display is a little tough to come by at this price point and size. would recommend this model for sure!

I bought this TV to have when the ps5 launched as i wanted a TV that could easily handle 60fps now and be able to keep up when games hit 120 fps down the road. While there are nicer TVs out there, this one is the best available circa $500, at the time i purchased. Its the only sub $600 tv that can handle the PS5 output and with ray tracing on my games look so sweet. Negative - LG native interface doesnt support hboMax or discovery+.... Lame and for no good reason. LG your sleepin I love this TV and my expectations were met and exceeded. Highly recommend for next gen gaming TV
